Final conflict: you guys can either sit back and let it play out as a series of cutscenes in front of you, or jump in and join the fun. Obviously your participation may have some effect -- but note that this is going to be a big combat, so joining in will not be without dangers. It may not be just a case of slaughtering hapless low-level warriors.

The Judge really likes being alive, or at least sentient, he would prefer not dying. This is why his objective is to get the bugbears and goblins into the keep, and then let them do the slaughtering and/or dying. Once the main gate doors are open, the bugbear army should be able to get in.

I am of the opinion that we have done enough damage. If I can get a few fire elementals to burn things in town and the keep, I will. But otherwise I see no reason to risk our necks against possible low level crits/nat-20s.

Looting through Xen's stuff, I transferred the party loot over to Jax's sheet along with things from Xen's body >.>

Jax is going to, at least for the moment, cloak of resistance, boots, thieves tools, and potion of CLW.

He may keep the hat simply because it's fancy. Although for actual use, its best for the Judge. Judge doesn't look human in his standard form and he has the charisma to actually be useful undercover. Jax has no diplomacy or intimidate.

I figure we will sell most of it, but Jax plans to continue hunting down archers/looking for treasure in the fort as it gets sacked.

Edit: Dren got the hat first :D

Up to you guys, I am okay with either. Can we sit back and help as we can with exposing ourselves to little danger like using the last of the wand and other ranged affects?

The judge can summon several larger creatures on the walls as they attack to cause havoc and the wand could potentially wipe out a whoile set of defenders on the wall as there is a major attack allowing them to take a section of the wall quite quickly.

I was still thinking we could play a decent roll in taking down the fort per Dren's or Judges suggestions, but we would just keep our personages out of harms way for the most part.

A key fireball or Croc could make a big difference in the Bugbears and Goblins taking the front wall easily and over-powering the defenders without exposing ourselves to much danger.

As far as treasure, it would be nice to get some easy pickins but not worth risking our lives for.

As far as Xen, at least I didn't cut his head off and sacrifice him to my darker powers...that is about as close to friendship as you get from him. He respected Xen and had worked together for several months now. Not the connection that he and Bref had, but he does actually have loyalty to the group..you are the only "family" he has. You don't sacrifice family...unless they deserve it.

so i have everything totaled up on the loot front, not counting the potions or scrolls

also there is still the bank notes that will have to be handled (dm said appraise or knowledge to see if there was value to be had)

and a locked box with possibly a magic ward on it

Can we please do this bit after the fort falls?

I mean there are some items there ALL of us could use.

The boots work best for Jax, check. Same with the tools.

The cloak, well a few of us could use that.

The Portable Hole, ditto, BUT I suggest someone who carries the party loot who we trust keep it.

For sentiments sake Cуровую, would love to keep Xen's hat, but she will take even the non magical version, just because she was fond of his antics.

Let's not mark them off first because we may lose some items in the process.

Bref can you keep track of the loot for now or keep Xen's page the way it is?

Can we do this later?

the magical items that xen has are going to be kept, by the party, no way you are going to give up the haversack, the hat or the boots, or the cloak so you guys can figure that out after the fact, so I am not including it in the math i am doing.

DMDM - After I put on the headband, do I get an additional 2nd level spell today? Or an additional Summon Monster? I assume these do not come into effect until after rest, but want to check.

Correct, you get the DC right away but no spells or other things until 24 hours pass.

Like I said berfore, I do not want to take away your fun of running your character but we all have to play together. We are a group and need to make decisions as such in then be ok with them once they are made.

Everyone gets to voice their opinion then we need to decide.

If the majority of the group decides on plan "A" please go with it.

If she wants to go rogue and get herself killed, it is her choice. I just ask that it be completed in a few posts so that the rest of us are not waiting for days.


Okay, cutscenes it is.

A note on these: their outcome is not fixed! Assume I'm rolling a lot of dice behind my virtual DM's screen. Basically I'm playing with some large-scale combat rules. So either side could roll badly or well.

(Mind, if the defenders are outnumbered 100 to 1, no amount of lucky crits will change the outcome -- it'll just pile up the bodies and/or kill some NPCs.)
