Jax has said that he prefers to hang back until Edmin engages, and checking his character sheet I don't see that he owns a tanglefoot bag. If I don't hear from him in the next little while, I'll just have him pull out a scroll of Grease and try that -- I don't want to send anyone into potentially lethal melee with a boss without the player's say so, but I'd like to move this along.
More generally: now that we're in the final boss combat, it may be a good idea to check in a little more often than usual. I know that everyone has jobs, school, families and all that, but this is the climax to 14 months of this game. If you're going to be distracted for a day or two, either leave advance instructions or give your character to another player to run.

I have a scroll of grease? That sounds great. I can cast that on his sword.
You already did and he rolled a 20 on his save.
Random OOC note, Most of the posting occurs overnight/early morning for me. I check around 9/10 AM my time after I get to work.
Since I'm on European time, I'm six hours ahead of the US East Coast. So from your POV, I tend to get a lot of posting done very early in the morning, then fall silent in the late afternoon. Zimu in NYC but keeps unusual hours, so there's often a period in the early morning (US time) when she and I are lighting things up.
It's not a problem most days -- but this week only, you might want to either post some contingency plans, or allow someone else to take over.

Just wondering, how did the Commander manage to make a 5-foot step down a ladder? I think this would have qualified as difficult terrain, which does not allow 5-foot steps without special abilities (Travel Domain power, Feather Step, Freedom of Movement, etc).

True story, I think this game cost me well over three hours of sleep last night, I went to bed at 10 am.
I wonder how much sleep it has cost me in 14 months.
The above is NOT a complaint.

And he's an air traffic controller folks.

Now I understand why it took us 2 minutes to fly about 100 feet from the keep to the gatehouse.

Fair point. I'm seeing it as more of a steep wooden stair than a ladder as such, but still a point. But I noted earlier that getting past the Commander would require a Climb check. So rather than redo the last round and a half, let's just give him a Climb check -- if he fails, he falls. Here he goes: 1d20 ⇒ 10

Well..that's 43 damage. Jax will resort to scrolls of shocking grasp (has like 2-4, have to check) and can use his last 3 arcane pool points to get back more shocking grasps..if he lives another turn, that is.
Edit: Btw, Cimu, how did you get +3 to your shocking grasp? I didn't think there were ways to add damage to spells outside of the sorcerer bloodline ability.

DM I TAKE BACK MY GUTEN MORGEN!
Everyone Sense Motive on the pain in the Monk!
DM Grumblejack would get an attack of opportunity if the archer comes up to the ladder at the end of round four before Edric gets to peek in the situation because he is right there and has reach right?
Judge Tohram Quasangi |
I know, I cast Shield while we were verbally jousting, Post 11246. Enlarge Person on Edmin in Round 1, which took effect on my turn in round 2, Haste in Round 2, Enlarge Person on Morsum in Round 3 which take effect in Round 4, and then Rejuvenate Eidolon in Round 4.
For some reason I do not see the Enlarge Person on Morsum, but that also means that there was a missed round of action for the Judge somewhere.
Jax Naismith |
Its part of the spell, oppoenent is wearing metal armor or weapon you get +3 to hit them.
That's to hit, not to damage. Didn't know about the wizard evocation thingie though!
Bref |
well time to start plotting next character, unless you all wipe
I am thinking we have a distinct lack of range attacking in this group so I will do a bombing alchemist.
Bref |
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
So that would be
STR 12
DEX 15
CON 14
INT 18
WIS 13
CHA 7
Before level 4 and racial, since I don't know what race

Morsum will all out attack until banished, and then the Judge can start summoning again since that is about all I have left. I have 4 Summon Monster III that I can use - [b]Hey Monk, here are some more of your friendly crocodiles.

Okay, trying to catch up but..
Round 4: Xen gets killed, Edmin is healed and stands up, Jax casts vanish and moves behind commander.
Round 5: Edmin kills the commander, monk hits grumblejack, Jax can do something now?
Judge Tohram Quasangi |
If the commander was already down and Edmin hit him and took his head off, Morsum would have attacked the Monk or Archer. He would not waste attacks on a dead man.

We went a little out of order; Morsum acted before Edmin, which wasn't in accord with initiative. Strictly speaking, the arrow should have been shot at Edmin.
I think we'll say that Edmin delayed his action until after yours -- which he certainly could have done, for any number of reasons. So Morsum started ripping up the dead Commander, the monk ordered Edric to shoot at you, you caught the arrow, Edmin cut the commander's head off. So you "wasted" Morsum's attacks, but OTOH, you ended up with a Arrow of Slaying.

Really you couldn't have picked this place up a little bit? It is disgusting in here. That over there, that room is mine so get all your nasty out of there!

That's right folks. Today the Infernal Broadcasting Network would like to present you with the Showdown at the Poo-K Corral. That's right, it is the poo wielder himself, today wearing his stylish chef's cap, versus the spear man, today in his wide brimmed hat with a feather. It won't be long now, who will win, will the spear wielder get the chef's hat? Or will the feather soon be covered in poo.

No big deal, Dren cast a Finger of Death at you...he wanted to reduce the treasure share division...
Treasure? We've found treasure? Are we playing the same game?
Hey if Bref can create a new character shall we start with next level? (I know we can still die here but I am trying to be cheery.)
Can I at least just visualize level up, that would be sweet!
