Judge Tohram Quasangi |
Do you know what nemesis means?
Yeh, she is the Greek Goddess of retributive justice. One of the Judge's favorites, when it suits him.
Also a mediocre Star Trek movie.
Xenfal |
Actually if we kill him w the bref head there will be nothing left but his head
Edmin Al'Roth |
Very good idea, BUT Edmin really will have his feelings hurt id he disent get to kill him.
Bref |
Well I leave that to you guys. Might be smart to cast the silence on Edmin in any evemt
Xenfal |
yea i had xen search the morning, up bright and early.
though it might be worth scribing another scroll of it, if it makes him easier to kill
Cуровую зиму |
Judge VERY important, if we stay the course and attack the cleric before the night of the stew, I need a writing sample from the lead cleric from Morsum if he can manage it. To cover our tracks
Xenfal |
ok guys so I have a house for us to fight in. Here is my plan. I will try to bluff him into meeting me in the house. I will come up with a reason...likely involving a young lady who is concerned about me joining the guard, and hopefully he can put her at ease. I will say her parents dont know about us so her friend is letting us use their home this morning to meet. Though I do not know the owners personally.
Basically I have to hope I outroll DMDM so every be inside and waiting. if Zimu wants to play the girl she can, or we can just have her not be there. I would think we come in and from a back room sshe calls out.
we go there Morsum is already elarged and he grapples then we kill
Edmin Al'Roth |
Oh, no name but describe me as an ex knight that you met that is trying to be your patron. Give my physical description and call me Sir (Last name of dead girlfriend)
Cуровую зиму |
Er ... lets NOT use Edmin's name or his ex please, that is surely not the way to go. Please.
But get him drunk first Xen, very drunk, because he may have Sense Motive. Let's MAKE CERTAIN the house you have is secure and not occupied. Or this will alert the fort.
If he comes I have a plan to cover us. Try not to overly bloody his clothes. If he does not come I have a plan to bring him out again.
Jax Naismith |
He will most definitely have sense motive, he's a cleric.
On top of that, DM already said the town is small and he probably knows who lives in all of the houses. If a house is unoccupied, he may know why.
Cimu, that golem is scary. We should create several scrolls of invisibility for the team to sneak into the tower and up to the Magister first, taking him out before he can rouse it.
Xenfal |
yup, it comes down to if I outbluff him. exciting. I think I have one more nat 20 in me

Knowledge Local what is considered the best eatery or restaurant equivalent in the town?
Sadly, Mama Kolo's and the Dalliance are as good as it gets. The North has been developing rapidly in the last generation, but it's still rather retrograde in these matters.
(There are some nice restaurants in the bigger towns a bit further south. As your Cousin Elise can attest!)
Douglas Muir 406 |
Could the cleric have Word of Recall or something similar as a domain spell? Does Mitra grant the Travel Domain?
ooh, Dimensional Hop. Travel Domain is one of those one-trick ponies, like Rakshasa bloodline or the Divination school -- there's only reason to take it, but that reason is pretty convincing.
Do Mitran priests get it? Knowledge (religion) check. (And remember that one does encounter the odd occasional freak variant priest.)

Xenfal wrote:rdy to play the encounter w the father whenever you are dmdmUnderstood. But if Judge and Zimu are involved, we should finish up their night-before explorations first.
Upon consideration: Judge and Zimu, I hate to cut anyone's investigations short. But we can't move on to the next day, which means four players are waiting for two. So, I'd ask that you try to wrap this up today. This may mean that you don't get to open every door or ask every question. I apologize for that. But we're up against the other reason not to split the party -- viz., it slows down the game.
Dren of the Dark Tapestry |
Time for Zimu to work the Wizard into a frenzy then leave him wanting more. If you can set him up for a rendezvous tomorrow, maybe we can kill two birds in one day...lol.

Fair enough. 'Cellia' left the magister some more questions up thread, I'll be back from school in five hours and wrap up by the next ten hours of real time. Then making preparations then moving on to the next day.

i wouldnt go that far. There are dozens of ways to get out of a failed roll. It is possible we dont kill him, but failing the whole mission is a bit extreme i would say.
just because xen gets caught in a lie doesnt expose the plan, it doesnt even expose the others.
I will not be scared by dmdmdmdmdmdmdmdmdmdm!!!

I almost feel we're getting too hasty from lack of doing any substantial danger lately. There are hundred ways this could go wrong and we still have 4 days till the soup is delivered and we signal the attack. If we don't drop him or immobolize him in 1, maybe 2 rounds, he can run out the house/scream for alarm/etc. How big is the house you picked for the ambush? If the ambush room is less than 20' radius, once we silence him then Jax, Cimu, Dren and Judge (minus Morsum) are fairly useless as well. If we don't silence him, all he has to do is scream or yell and someone will hear him.
Most of our best Save or sucks are Will saves (Charm, Hold Person) which he is likely to make with being a cleric and Wis based. I guess I'm just not seeing how this combat will play out favorably, even assuming we can get him alone, in a house, and assuming he doesn't know who owns the house/should live there/that the person Xen is claiming to meet does/doesn't exist. How do the rest of you seeing the combat portion play out, presuming we even make it to that stage?
MiniGM |
Jax can cast shocking grasp before he enters and get a big SA SG attack off then just flank w someone. If he can't cast problem solved.
Seriously there are no more risks doing it this way than any other
If the party wants to bail the. Fine but there is not a better chance. If not in an empty house then where and when will there be no risk. If you can present an option with less risk fine, but relying on another linguistics roll or another bluff to get to another place with as much risk is stupid
Judge Tohram Quasangi |
Unless we know when he is heading out of town to visit some poor old widow, I do not know how we could get him farther away. I thought that we were going to find out who he was visiting. Someone could make the person being visited become metabolically challenged. Then Dren with his alter self takes on the appearance of the elderly person.
This eliminates the risk of trying to get the father to some abandoned house. The only question is which house he will be visiting. Assuredly at least one of them will be a little removed from the center of town, an old farmhouse or something.
Morsum |
Morsum's best skill is tripping. He can be enlarged and grapple, but this will give an AoO. The Judge could use the evolution surge to give him an Evolution Surge(grab) which would definitely buff him up some.
Jax Naismith |
Someone should have a fishing net ready to throw on hi. As well
Nets are an amazingly good idea as is grappling with Morsum, that deals with the immobolization question I had about it and gives us another few rounds (Silence lasts 3?) to kill him. I don't doubt we can kill him in 3 rounds, was just wondering how we were keeping him from running while we butcher him.
