They are always ready, they are waiting for us to send up the signal flare.
Then I third your plan to set the attack on the 13th. Its just too convenient. I can't imagine what we could do with an extra week that would get us a better opportunity.

Edmin Al'Roth |

Count me in. I really want to get info from these dwarves though. We may need to sneaky peak their room when I have them drinking.

Cуровую зиму |

Will read the last six post on game play and last eight on discussion thread when I get home.
In the meantime, Xen do you need a scroll of Disguise Self or does that hat do all that already?

Cуровую зиму |

Cуровую is still on day 8 morning, a few hours before the play as she needs to make purchases and some preparations.
I will post all that as soon as I get much needed sleep, been working for almost fourteen hours, mostly on my poor feet.
At the play she will also have cast Alarm on the secret door, then Detect Magic and Message on those attending BEFORE she left the Lord's Dalliance for the fort.
Judge you may want to use the privy/bathroom for the guests attending the play to Summon Morsum as an option if you want him there instead of the secret room.

Judge Tohram Quasangi |

Summoning - (1) order some food; (2) eat some food in the common room near the door to the basement, (3) start summoning/get nauseous, (4) explain away that I must have just swallowed something wrong (Bluff +13).
Also, DMDM - if Morsum is down HP, I will usually be resummoning him while in my room before going to sleep at which point I will heal him. That way he should usually be full strength whenever healed.

Edmin Al'Roth |

Aldo, i would like to request that our sneaky ones rummage the dwarf leaders room for Intel while they are drinking.

Jax Naismith |

Any requests of who I should try to get to know?
Barhold is acting INCREDIBLY suspicious. We should talk with him and try to find out why.
Xen, you have better diplomacy than Jax so it will probably be best for you to talk to him. Jax has a few casts of Vanish and Invisibility if anyone has any ideas on what to do with them.
Dren, I agree whipping out your servant persona may be a good use for scouting atm.

Cуровую зиму |

Any requests of who I should try to get to know?
First know thyself!
Then, how about the magister please.
Secondary would be the head cleric.
Not as a character but as a player I would love to hear more about the commander and his story, but as a player I'm a little wary that he has Sense Motive and other skills.

Dren of the Dark Tapestry |

Dren and grumbles were going to talk to him tonight, but he us at the play. Maybe we will catch him on the way back. He is wondering who stole his stuff...and basically freaking out which I figured he would.

Dren of the Dark Tapestry |

Me too but close enough to the 13th that they can't get a replacement for the two captains before we strike.
Destory the patrol tomorrow night.
Set up the captains shortly after that.

Jax Naismith |

So things to do in the following/coming days BEFORE Day 12
Currently it is Night of Day 8
Talk to Magister
Speak to Barnhold and figure out why he is being paranoid
Ambush the patrol
Attack the priest as he visits parishioners Day 9
Mott to attack Eddarly
Find a way to poison Mama Kola's Stew
Explore the fort so we can figure out an easy way to get to the second drawbridge.

Judge Tohram Quasangi |

My only note - I do not know why we are worried about Barnhold. We know why he is paranoid, asking question might make him realize that we know something. Let him be paranoid, I do not see how investigating him further helps us at all.

True, I just wasn't sure if there was something more. For example, he was looking around nervously. Perhaps he told someone about what happened>? Or perhaps nimpy is blackmailing him? Or perhaps its nothing like you said.

Or perhaps he knows that someone found all the crap he was keeping, and is scare to death that someone might use it to blackmail him. After all, people who steal from the Talingarde military are not usually treated particularly well in the country. I doubt that he will spill his guts because if he does so, he is likely to find himself in prison and possibly dead.
Lets see what spilling his guts would do:
--> he has been gathering notes on the extra marital affairs of a guard captain and the wife of another captain <-- if he reveals this, he may find himself in DEEP doodoo.
--> he has been stealing from the military stores <-- I cannot see how telling someone this is going to do anything except get him tossed into prison.
------------
The only thing talking to him could do is tip him off to the fact that we noticed him being paranoid. To me, this is likely to increase the chance that he will spill his guts. Perhaps I am misreading the little weasel, but in the overall scheme of things, I believe that the balance favors not approaching him. But, if one of you wants to do so without telling the Judge, or wants to run it by him IC, then I will have to decide how to respond.

Dren of the Dark Tapestry |

I think for the most part you are right but I want to ensure he doesn't do anything like spill his guts in hopes for redemption. Don't worry Dren wouldn't do anything to endanger the mission.
There is another play here to smooth things over as well as make him our pawn to possibly be used later.

So the weekend was a success?

Jax Naismith |

So what is the plan to kill the cleric now that I have him drawn out? Attack while we walk back?
I propose that I start out as if to defend him then when he turns I am a flank buddy
That sounds good. If we can get him in an alley or away from major crowds it would be best. You may simply want to flee to maintain appearances. jax will, of course, be dropping his amulet disguise for the attack.

Edmin Al'Roth |

Sounds great! I say we find out where he is going and then I jump out all "Ahh haa!" like and say something witty before I smash him in the face with my ax with a great big helping of Smite Good! Either that or I just smash him with the axe with the smite good and say something all doom and gloomy afterwards. I am good either way.

Judge Tohram Quasangi |

Can we have Grumbles eat the father? He has not had a good human meal in a while. This will dispose of the evidence. Then it will be a search for the father, rather than a search for who killed the fat man.

Cуровую зиму |

Guys please read.
I am all for attacking the cleric BUT this may be a few days too soon, what if between Cуровую's plans (a sizable donation to the church here in the town) and Xen's 'friendship' we strike at him the same night of the stew? There would be no alerts forewarning as the bugbears will be at the gates. My suggestion.

Dren of the Dark Tapestry |

I must admit that the closer we can time this to the attack on the tower the better. If he goes missing there will be a search for him, he seems too important.
I don't like the idea of attacking him in a alley or somewhere where he can escape easily. Much better to find an empty house and bring him there to help an unfortunate and then hit him once he get's through the door.

Honestly, if we can get a good full drop on him, he may go down in one round.

Will we know, for sure, that we can get him out and alone away from people in the next 2 days though? On top of all the other plans we're trying to pull out?

Dren of the Dark Tapestry |

And if we don't take him out in one round and he yells out or he just withdraws out of the alley where he can be seen by a bunch of people?
His flat footed AC may be pretty good since he probably has no dex. Why take the chance and just find a nice remote place where we can finish him without as much concern? He seems trusting and he leads him to Edmin...it will be an interesting encounter.

Judge Tohram Quasangi |

The question then becomes, if he is out helping destitute parishioners, is he going to be walking around in a magical breastplate with a large shield? My understanding was that in super-good Talingarde, he should not require such protection within the confines of a town.

Dren of the Dark Tapestry |

We can hope. Of course he may/probably will have instant armor if he doesn't carry his.
Although I know if I lived on the edge of a monster infested wilderness I would probably have my armor on.
Sorry I am always over-thinking this stuff...it is one of my downfalls but as a project manager I am always planning ahead and thinking of options. Speaking of that I better get to work...been on the boards all morning.

All military personnel go armed at all times when on duty. That may or may not include armor, but soldiers and officers on duty will always have a weapon.
