Jax you have a 14 plus 1 from Bless (possibly another bonus for if my summoned creature flanks with you) so hopefully that is enough to hit surprised, elderly old man.
Before he schools us in the ways of old boneman kung fu.

Hi all I am a friend (and some time advisor to one of your players) and I have finally caught up with the game thread.
First off, really a fun read, each of the characters has their own dynamic (I miss Bref too), each uniquely individual yet contributes to the nefarious whole; and above it all Douglas Muir shows off his DM chops as a conductor of the symphony that is the Way of the Wicked in a manner that puts my own skills to shame.
Bravo DM! I would count myself lucky to play even one live session with you!
Congratulations Douglas Muir's Team Evil on hitting some 5,400+ posts!
May your boots crush the pitiful souls of those who dare oppose you!

Post Script
Dead Bref reflexively chewing down on the sword that killed him was one of my favorite (yet tragic) scenes.
However one recent scene that had my jaw drop as I read it was the 1 rolled by the forgery Jax made in haste as the cutter pulled along side of the players ship, followed a hair's width away with a natural 1 by the captain doing the inspecting.
Unfortunately, that invisibility went to complete waste as Jax is unable to hit a surprised, elderly old man while invisible and directly next to him...
Got flattened by a stomach bug last night and am still not very well. My wife had this last week, and if her experience is indicative, I'll probably be under the weather for another day, maybe two. I'll try to keep posting, but if it gets quiet for a little bit, that's why.

Think I'm coming down with the stomach flue too, DM. And my PC desktop broke..I'm starting to suspect its not just the dice.
Anyway, Jax's attacks would be +3 higher if he gets flanking + the bless. So that's an 18 and a 13 on the attack rolls against flat-footed AC..maybe one of them will hit :D
Okay, clawing my way back, delayed slightly by the fact that I had to get on a plane. (Imodium, and lots of it.) (Did you know: Imodium is an opiate, chemical half brother to heroin. And you can get a little high off it. Not very, and you have to take a lot, but you can.)

quick dmdm publish!
Nobel Prize here you come. That and you get to be the hero of stoner high schoolers everywhere!
No, this is known. It's even in the wikipedia article. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loperamide "Only when very high doses are taken does enough accumulate in the brain to produce typical opioid effects, lasting for a number of hours (just as typical opioids would)."
I took a whole bunch the other day and was rewarded with a very mild high, roughly comparable to a single Percocet. But the side effects of taking massive doses of imodium regularly would probably be so gruesome that AFAIK nobody's ever made a habit of it. (OTOH people will do the damnedest things to get high, so I won't swear nobody's ever tried.)
Incidentally, the effect goes both ways: just as Imodium can get you a tiny bit high, heroin will make you a bit constipated. This is the reason junkies tend to be skinny. (See, e.g., the first few minutes of "Trainspotting".)
Okay, gang. I was out sick for several days, but now I'm back. If you have a moment, please represent -- post something either here or on the GP thread so that I know you haven't lost interest and wandered off.

Seriously, this dice roller! I think if you add up the last 6 rolls Jax made, you might get one decent roll.

While we wait for Doug to get better, perhaps we can keep interest in the game by playing a bit of a game?
What is one thing (unless there is more than one thing) that your character would not lie about?
For Jax, it would be his appreciation for art. even under duress, he would find it difficult to lie about it. He would also be loathe to lie about the quality of a piece, unless trying to pawn off a forgery--even if doing so would make him pay a higher price for a good piece than expected.

Cуровую has famaphobia and syngenesophobia.
Fear of her fellow family members, with the Eternal Witch Baba Yaga topping that list.
She's can't hide it with the Matron of her clan, she can barely suppress it with her great aunts and aunts. Those of her generation, her cousins, she abhors and detests.
Tohram believes in Justice. He has been a judge for many years and believes that the laws are sacrosanct. Mind you, whose laws are being followed is open to interpretation and the use of any loopholes in the laws are more than exploitable. Thus, he would never lie in a court of justice, and would severely, and with great relish, punish those who would lie in a court. Twisting the truth to his own benefit, well, that is a whole different matter as long as it is not lying.

Oh, in our table top game if the GM is late for the game and everyone is waiting around we get one free re roll for a saving throw. This has only happened twice in over a year of game play, and he also brought serious cupcakes the next game.
