Lower the hyenadon attack by 2, can't charge through difficult terrain.

Good point Hajar. Kronus did that hit you at -2?

AC is 21 because of that Breastplate so; No otherwise it totally would have hit my weakpoint for MASSIVE DAMAGE

Round 2
=======

Kronus rebuffs the Hyendadon barreling towards him as its maw comes down on his newly acquired armor allows him the ability to grip its jaw and lodge his body in a way to prevent it clamping down. With a surge of strength he disengages the battle of wills between them and roars a challenge of might.

He strikes at the new Hyendadon as him ad Grim distract it.. while Hajar closes ranks on the other 3 Gnolls

His battle-lust grows stronger as Kronus begins to gain a rhythm with his prey using its recklessness against it. He scrapes a claw against its snout which makes the Hyendadon rear up and reveal soft flesh under its right foremost leg. Kronus nearly cleaves through at the joint almost severing the muscles and gimping its locomotion.

To my knowledge not every creature with the Large size has reach especially those who are quadrupedal and Large long.. like Horses. Im pretty sure these creatures don't.. Also I just noticed but Divine Bond is times per day for minutes.. not minutes run...

Thanks, totally missed that, yep can activate it only once per day for 5 minutes not 5x per day for 1 minute like I thought. Notes updated to reflect changes

I think I did try to move into the Hyaenadon's last round, but the map did not reflect my move. So, I just moved from where I was 'left'

Its been too long since I posted I am going to end the combat in your favor of course so we can start kinda fresh.

With the help of the stranger with the bow you manage to slay the hyenadons and gnolls. Please introduce yourself stranger.

Male Human (Gnoll Heritage) Alchemist (Vivsectionist Beastmorph) 1

Safe to assume I killed one of the Gnolls? Need a running count for possible feat choices.

AC 19|HP 38/38

"Well met. My name is Cayden Bray and I was sent to find the paladin Abbot Hajar. Is he among you?"

Male Human (Gnoll Heritage) Alchemist (Vivsectionist Beastmorph) 1

Kronus grunts as you see the Grey-haired Gnoll reaching down and ripping teeth from the Gnolls he fell and placing them in a pouch ripping a chunk of the Hyenadons and chewing on the bloody mass. He approaches you.. sniffing and thumbs to Hajar with a raspy voice in common

" That human over there is the one they call Hajar.. If he is a paladin or an Abbot in your language I can't say. Why were you here and why did you attack our prey as well? "

AC 19|HP 38/38

Cayden is an Aasimar, 5'10", 150 lbs, Silver hair, ice blue eyes and deeply tanned skin. He's wearing monks robes and is armed with a composite long bow and a dagger on his belt.

"I was sent by Hamzah, a cleric of Sarenrae, to aid Hajar in his task. I make no claims on your... prey and make apology if I've given offence."

Male Human (Gnoll Heritage) Alchemist (Vivsectionist Beastmorph) 1

The White-Grey Gnoll stalks around this Cayden and chuckles, the news somewhat amusing until.. the word cleric rings in his head and Kronus' smirk becomes less amused and serious.

" You seem to know your place. Good. Now tell me, you say a cleric of this 'Dawnflower' like her? " Pointing to Iryna " Or is this cleric stronger? Can it cure stone? "

The Gnoll seems concerned for something and frustrated at the same time, he presses his questions in like they are of utmost import.

AC 19|HP 38/38

"I don't know" Cayden confesses. "It's not something that ever came up in conversation. What's wrong with your stone?"

Male Human (Gnoll Heritage) Alchemist (Vivsectionist Beastmorph) 1

Kronus grows agitated as it slowly starts to become apparent that Cayden is ignorant of exactly what he speaks of. He steels himself and tries to get the words out.

" My ally was struck with a breath, that turned him to stone.. because I was not quick enough to kill a beast. He is one of my kind.. but shorter and weaker... with normal fur.. His name is Kuralaak.. He is still stone "

AC 19|HP 38/38

"I understand your concern. I don't know of a cure for your ally but I'm willing to assist with your search."

Male Human (Gnoll Heritage) Alchemist (Vivsectionist Beastmorph) 1

Kronus seems to fume and rip another Hyenadon chuck from his meal in fury at Cayden's words, pointing at him

" I Do NOT show 'concern'! That is for the weak! I owe him a debt and I keep my vows! Once you show concern you are tossed aside like the cattle you are or have that concern betray you ,you SHALL help us and remember my words. "

The Gnoll seems to twitch and shake breathing quickly and heavily before slowly calming down

AC 19|HP 38/38

Cayden will raise an eyebrow at the rant but remain silent.

The aforementioned Hajar nar Jundi rises from his bent over position, he was examining a dead gnoll for markings. He gives an irritated and somewhat distrustful glance to the feral Gnoll that was growling and raving about debts.

I am Hajar nar Jundi, Abbot Protector of Kelmarane. You say Hamzah sent you?

Hajar stands almost 7 feet tall with a bald pate and shiny blue eyes.

Indeed. To what purpose Most Beneficent Friend Hamzah send you to us ? Are you to assist in the destruction of the Carrion King?

Hajar says scanning the newcomer and keeping his hands near Tempest.

Hajar motions to Grim and says in a low voice Where do you propose we go next? Will you scout ahead a bit, I do not trust this new Gnoll. And the appearance of a newcomer is either divine fortune or....not. Keep your daggers sharp.

Agreed on both count Hajar grim will head out for a bit of scounting

Male Human (Gnoll Heritage) Alchemist (Vivsectionist Beastmorph) 1

Hajar and Kronus would make the most awesome hate-baby; Either that or they are CLEARLY the best of friends

The snap and rend of flesh, sinew and bone comes from Kronus as he sits enjoying his haunches of meat while Grim Scouts. As Grim leaves he will point to Hajar and shout "Humansh *snap, pop* You sshould Getsh jur dawnflowersh Blesshings *munch, chew, swallow* You look like what I started in after those whelps gave me a little 'petting', Don't want you to go ahead and get killed if ya can help it. Exploiting weakness is common on the battlefield. " Going back to his food.. giving that bit of info with his gruff, raspy voice as per normal, but it was clearly a sincere effort

Thank you Mistress. The blessings of the Lady are always welcome.

to the Newcomer Hajar continues

Your bow may be of use in the coming battle. What do you know of the Carrion King, I fear you may not understand what it is you face.

Cayden:
The carrion king is a gnoll that has been magically enhanced to grow to a much greater size by a magic axe and he has united many gnoll tribes. He is very evil and deadly. You know little else other than Sarenrae has called you hear to help defeat him.

Grim does some extensive scouting this is what he finds...

Stealth: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

Any of you can read this but only Grim knows it in character at this point.

H2 South room:
The floor appears badly damaged, scarred with cracks and huge gaping holes. Pieces of old wood and rusted metal bars
cover some of the damaged areas, though they hardly seem safe. Along the north wall, loose rock and other debris neatly fills a wide arch, blocking the passage save for a few narrow gaps; likewise, in places the ceiling of the chamber has fallen, exposing small gaps to reveal the sky above.
The floor of this room has suffered extensive damage, and a considerable portion in the center is missing. A DC 15 Knowledge (architecture or dungeoneering) check determines
Spoiler:
the entire room is unstable.
The entire floor is difficult terrain. You see no creatures hostile or otherwise.

H3 West Room:
Thick pillars of stone line this over sized hall, draped in cobwebby ropes strung with tattered prayer flags. Along the north and south walls, various doors, arches, and stairwells offer exit. In the center of the room a pair of elaborately tiled, diamond shaped
columns etched with coils of twisting vermin rise up; the column to the east is hollow and contains an ancient iron staircase that spirals down into darkness. You see a single Gnoll guard in this room he does not see you.

H9 North Room:
This chamber reeks of wild beasts. About the room, wooden stakes pounded into the mud-brick walls secure several
dangling ropes with leather collars. A mosaic of a huge, snarling,
insect-like beast with bulging eyes and yellow mandibles covers the floor. Its many arms clutch falchions, gemstones, and screaming women.
The image on the floor here is identifiable with a DC 15 Knowledge (religion) check.
Spoiler:
Its Rovagug although the depiction of him wielding falchions is unusual.

You see two gnoll Guards standing watch here with six humans. You hear roaring and growling further to the north.

Female Human Cleric 5 | HP 38 | AC 19 FF 19 T10 | Saves +5/+1/+8 | Init +0 | Percep +4

Iryna listens intently as she also has no real idea what they are pursuing, other than it is a servant of the Rough Beast.

See Discussion for notes, Hajar :)

Grim comes back and tell exactly was he has seen

We should separate into two groups and take all three gnolls at the same time in order to both same the hostages and prevent the lone sentry to raise the alarm. Hajar and Cayden on the lone Gnoll. The rest with me if that is ok with all of you?

Aye Cayden, he worships the Rough Beast. An anathema among goodly beings, and very unlike his kind who usually worship with a glance to Kronus. The bestial mother Lamashtu.

Hajar continues
Something is not right here, the geniekind want this Carrion King defeated, but to what end. Xulthos was drawn to Kelmerane for similar reasons. I wish Raj were here now, he understood such things better than I.

AC 19|HP 38/38

"Geniekind? I know nothing of them, or Xulthos for that matter. Perhaps you can tell me of them when time permits."

We don't have to roleplay that conversation if you don't want to. We can assume that it's a conversation we had around the campfire and I'll go back and read the gameplay thread.

Well since no one really object then the plan is approved. Hajar and Cayden get by your door and on the count of 3 we both open then and get business done.

Male Human (Gnoll Heritage) Alchemist (Vivsectionist Beastmorph) 1

Kronus chuckles a Hyena's taunt and gets to his feet, sated on Hyenadon meat. He cracks his knuckles by flexing his powerful claws and smiles. " The Grim-human has a good plan, Slaughter them all before they get a chance to run and alert the rest; A plan I wholly agree with! " He smirks at Hajar " Just know one thing Hajar-human, Not every Gnoll worships The Mother... I happen to be one of them..I only revere what I can hold and experience.. The Mother didn't help prevent what was taken from me.. Now.. Let us get this started.. I need practice to figure out How I shall make that Traitor suffer! "
