Iryna Marita Pantaeva
To the group, "Let Sarenrae Bless us and preserve us." She raises her arm to the sky, her sleeve dropping to reveal an incredibly elaborate tattoo of Saranrae's symbol. Iryna's Burning Angel flares with light and healing energy, soothing the injuries of the assembled fellows.
Channel Energy!: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 6) = 16
To the newcomer, "We are here to cleanse the wicked. Amongst friends the task will be much easier. Are you a friend, Gnoll? I am called Iryna Marita Pantaeva." As she says her name, she rolls her letters showing that she is clearly not originally from Qadira. "What is your name?"
Iryna makes no assumptions about Hajar's powers. He is obviously Chosen of Sarenrae.
Kronus Deathmaw
Kronus tenses at first.. When the hairless places his hand upon him; He doesnt back down for fear of losing face. When he feels the rush of positive energy surge through him at the call of this "Dawnflower", the sensation surprises him.. never in his short life had he experienced that from a touch unless he consumed various potions. Kronus takes a step back to re-evaluate the situation and this sensation What is this pinkskin? A shaman..? We didnt have a shaman in the tribe. Is this thier power... My wounds close and this can be useful.. I shall amuse him. This means I am in his debt as well.. Damn.
Kronus points to the frontmost corner of this area " I came from the front.. One of their scouting parties underestimated me..and I slaughtered them, tracked their movements back to here. I challenged Carrion King openly.. They laugh...very many of them stop laughing when I did not die. They overwhelmed me when they realized strength. "
He looks hard at Hajar " I come to get stronger, Become real king of Gnolls... To get mate back.. precious mate. Mate who was stolen from me. So I get stronger.. who stronger than Carrion King? Current Carrion King cause too much trouble. If I defeat him I am the strongest..... Why you here? "
Kronus Deathmaw
@ Iryna
A similar reaction to bone and sinew knitting back together from your burst of holy light giving Kronus another feeling that he oftentimes did not receive.. relief. he pondered this. No he owed two hairless and his brethren. He would be indebted to these Humans. A simple request by this.. Iryna could be answered.
" I am Kronus! Paragon of Once great Deathmaw tribe.... and I am indebted to Kuralaak and now you two Hairless... I am not enemy to those who help me. Here.. Gift "
Tossing the woman the other set of armor from the other Gnoll guard
" It protect soft flesh.. Even?"
GM: Dave the Dwarf
Oh yea Iryna The gnolls came back with 2 masterwork Scimitars as well. And 2 Masterwork +4 Str Composite Longbows. I sure they would give them up freely. And Kuralaak the next time you have some time I will let you make a engineering or craft check whatever you got that might apply to make those 40 poisoned arrows into poison crossbow bolts. If you want.
I feel like the party accepts the new white gnoll if not a little cautiously. So we can move forward.
Hajar posted he was going to walk through the door who is going with him and what is the line order please?
Iryna Marita Pantaeva
In Qadiran style, Iryna thanks the white Gnoll, "Kronus, your gifts are both a pleasure and needed. I absolve you of any debt you feel towards me." The red haired cleric bows deeply. "As equals, shall we continue the fight against the Carrion King?" This gnoll, he has something of honor. Saranrae's ways are not to be known, but I thank her for the journey.
After Iryna dons the filthy armor and hefts a new scimitar she follows Hajar into the next room.
GM: Dave the Dwarf
I will assume Hajar and Kronus will lead together. The doors are Large and they can enter the room side by side.
Iryna seems to be melee as well so she and Grim would be in the second tier.
Kuralaak being ranged would be third
Raj and Selina would bring up the rear wanting to stay far back being squishy casters.
Kronus Deathmaw
Kronus nods that his debt has been repaid and looks to continue on.. in much better shape than before. Hairless are not all ruthless killers.. odd
"*grunt* As Equals.. yes.. I want his teeth.. to become new king. Let me see if there are more of them to...kill"
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15 +2 If we are considered in the Desert, Another +4 against Gnolls or another +2 against Undead; He will stay relatively in the front alongside Hajar
Selina Aldaeth
Selina stays in the back, ready to assist the party but wary of the gnoll and the mage who keeps looking at her, almost as if he were studying her. He keeps that up, he may find trouble, she thinks. Selina gives Raj a dirty look.
Kronus Deathmaw
Reflex Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Kronus looks left to right.. sniffing and searching but hears nor spots anything out of the ordinary until rocks plummet down upon him. At first he seems like he will dodge out of the way but being stubborn elects to cover himself as the rocks crash down.. to show his durability.
Hrm funnily enough if I got that 13 for the perception I wouldnt be taking this lol
GM: Dave the Dwarf
I know my players so I know how he would react.
Grim tries to conceal a smile...
Hajar do not forget to make your Reflex save
The party clears the rubble out of the way and you see...
The broad dome crests twenty feet above the floor, supported by stone arches inlaid with glittering fragments of rock crystal. The dome itself is damaged, missing several sections that have been crudely repaired with stretched hides. Beyond the arches, tiled walls square off the outer perimeter of the dome. Set into the floor beneath the dome is an elaborate mosaic of an intertwining sun and moon. The once stunning inlay is badly chipped. Chained to several of the arches hang the half-devoured remains of slain gnolls, their corpses crawling with flies. Most of the bodies are missing the majority of their legs and feet. A single word has been crudely carved into their chests.
Out of the shadows of the corners of this room you hear rumbling then growling then dual Roars as 2 Giant Troglodytes come charging toward you.
Here is my supprise twist to the AP. Some TROLLodytes see what I did there? =P
Start Round 1!
GM: Dave the Dwarf
AC 16, touch 11, flat-footed 14 CMB +10; CMD 22
regeneration 5 (acid or fire)
Yes these are Trolls that look like giant Troglodytes. The first time you harm them you WILL notice they regenerate and you can use your Troll knowledge to deal with that lol.
Round 1. Players go first. My Trolls will go after 4 Actions have been posted or as soon as I can Post.
Kronus Deathmaw
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30 Includes +4 for base speed being 10 higher
Kronus crouches on all fours and gives off a distinct growl before shooting off from the ground with the speed of a beast a 1/4 his size. Clearing almost 8 feet vertically before spiraling in the air and raking a feral claw across the Trollodytes eyes.
Powerful Claw: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Powerful Claw Damage: 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
The nails dig deep into the creatures face and drags downward along its neck and collarbone, through its pectoral and finally ending in its rightmost top abdominal. Kronus challenges the creature right there with this vicious attack.
Green Troll takes 9
Kronus Deathmaw
Yes it would.. though I'm not sure how you handle that if we go first depending on if they are considered flat footed.. in this case I didn't know.. I could roll another for that.. the acrobatics there was mostly for flavor and seeing how much height he could jump.. If you want to use that roll anyway its 4 lower for 26 which still beats its CMD
Iryna Marita Pantaeva
Iryna steps up and points her hand at the other troll-odyte. In accented Kelish, she whispers a prayer and a bolt of fire jumps from her hand towards the monster.
Move to H12 and use Firebolt to Hit!: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16 for damage!: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 Beware the Knife-Hand!
Selina Aldaeth
Selina moves to I11 and shoots a firebolt at the green troll.
Ranged touch attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Damage: 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 1 = 6
2/7 used today
GM: Dave the Dwarf
Yea sorry, usually my players go first and I post for the monsters after about 4 posts have been made. I do round summary's so if you come in late you can check a few posts back and get caught up. IF there ever is a situation that I need an initiative roll for the PC's you are always assumed to have improved initiative.
Hajar nar Jundi
Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Hajar winces as the rocks hit him.
Seeing the Trolls charge he moves to engage them taking an AoO from a trollodyte.
Tempest Power Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20 Damage: 2d4 + 11 + 1d6 ⇒ (1, 4) + 11 + (3) = 19
LoH: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 1) = 6
3/7 LoH used
Kronus Deathmaw
Indeed, very very lucky
Round 2
--------
Kronus dodges to the left and right, evading the Trollodytes lumbering arms but takes a mortal wound for its fast-snapping head. As the creature's jaws wrap around Kronus he takes both his claws and attempts to give it alternate breathing holes.. through the neck.. and biting upon its right eye.
Powerful Claw: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Powerful Claw Damage: 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Powerful Bite: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Powerful Bite Damage: 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Powerful Claw: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Powerful Claw Damage: 1d4 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
The claws sink in and he rips out an artery or two, but notices the wounds somewhat healing but then stop when fire was applied
" Fire seems to.. Stop them! Burn, maim them! "
Spitting up blood after the attack and pulling himself out of it clutches still in the fight but badly wounded.
18 more to Green Troll
Hajar nar Jundi
My apologies for the lack of posts today, was in a conference all day. My earlier post was during a break.
Raj Ajir
|
Raj grins as the Selina and Irnya shoot their fire. You know, I think we may have to have a competition! A jet of fire shoots out of his staff and coalesces into a ball, which launches itself at the Trolldolye not being clawed to death by a crazy gnoll.
I took the liberty of looking up a troll's Reflex save...
DC 17 Reflex Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
The miniature rolling sun smashes into it's midriff!
Fire Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 2) = 9
Hajar nar Jundi
Forgot to add 3 damage from bulls strength; Dave where are you!?
GM: Dave the Dwarf
A creature with this ability is difficult to kill. Creatures with regeneration heal damage at a fixed rate, as with fast healing, but they cannot die as long as their regeneration is still functioning (although creatures with regeneration still fall unconscious when their hit points are below 0). Certain attack forms, typically fire and acid, cause a creature’s regeneration to stop functioning on the round following the attack. During this round, the creature does not heal any damage and can die normally. The creature's descriptive text describes the types of damage that cause the regeneration to cease functioning.
Attack forms that don’t deal hit point damage are not healed by regeneration. Regeneration also does not restore hit points lost from starvation, thirst, or suffocation. Regenerating creatures can regrow lost portions of their bodies and can reattach severed limbs or body parts if they are brought together within 1 hour of severing. Severed parts that are not reattached wither and die normally.
Hajar nar Jundi
Hajar shouts his warcry
DAWNFLOWER!
and charges the remaining Trollodyte
Charge Power Attack Tempest: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15
And he misses
GM: Dave the Dwarf
