Leyli Wildspeaker |

Sorry got really busy at work,
===Surprise Round===
Leyli will just give the command Guard to Furball,
===Round 1===
"This might help, Furball stay by my side."
Leyli will cast Entangle centered around the gnolls, Will Save DC 15.
Creatures in area make a Reflex save.
•Fail = entangled
•Success = may move as normal
Any who enter the area make Reflex save immediately.
•Fail = entangled and movement ends.
•Success = may move normally
Any who remain in the area at end of casters turn must save again.
Can attempt to break free as a move action by making Strength or Escape Artist check vs. DC of the spell.
Entangled Condition Summary
•Move at half speed
•Cannot run or charge
•–2 penalty on all attack rolls
•–4 penalty to Dexterity.
•Must make a concentration check (DC 15 + spell level) to cast a spell (or lose the spell).
===Round 2===
"Aid me," as Leyli calls for Nature's help,
Summon Nature's Ally (eagle): Full Round Action

GM: Dave the Dwarf |

Just pointing out that Raj did not actually use a summon spell, though if the goat was already aware of him, assuming the Archon was a summoned creature would be the most logical conclusion...
This is how I played that. You stuck your and cast an illusion that looked like a summon spell. The Schir responded with protection from good so good summoned creatures could not even touch him. The gnolls assumed it was a real summon as well.

Hajar nar Jundi |

Entangle is gonna screw up Hajar's attack possibly Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Yep. Hajar moves out into the field and gets grasped by Leyli's entangle spell. Ignore the damage from my Tempest attack.

GM: Dave the Dwarf |

Let me do some saves here.
Reflex for bomb 6: 1d20 ⇒ 3,Reflex for bomb 5: 1d20 ⇒ 12,Reflex for bomb 3: 1d20 ⇒ 17
2 Gnolls took 5 dmaage. one saved.
Reflex for entangle 6: 1d20 ⇒ 17,Reflex for entangle 5: 1d20 ⇒ 2,Reflex for bomb 3: 1d20 ⇒ 16,Reflex for bomb 2: 1d20 ⇒ 3,Reflex for bomb 1: 1d20 ⇒ 9,Reflex for bomb Schir: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
5, 2, 1, and Shcir cant move.

GM: Dave the Dwarf |

Entangled: If you want to cast a spell while entangled
in a net or by a tanglefoot bag or while you’re affected by a
spell with similar effects, you must make a concentration
check to cast the spell (DC 15 + the level of the spell you’re
casting). You lose the spell if you fail.
-2 to hit for melee and range. -4 Dex
Entangled creatures
can attempt to break free as a move action, making a Strength or
Escape Artist check. The DC for this check is equal to the DC of the
spell. The entire area of effect is considered difficult terrain while
the effect lasts.

Al-Akim Naziri |

Al-Akim, having gained confidence from felling the first Gnoll, takes a step forward and quickly fires two more arrows at another. Gnoll 1
attack1: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 + 2 = 16
attack2: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 + 2 = 24
damage1: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
damage2: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
edit: critical damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

GM: Dave the Dwarf |

Entangle is gonna screw up Hajar's attack possibly [dice=Reflex] 1d20+4
Yep. Hajar moves out into the field and gets grasped by Leyli's entangle spell. Ignore the damage from my Tempest attack.
You would have seen the entangle before you started to charge. So you do not have to commit to that action.

Leyli Wildspeaker |

Sorry Hajar, I meant to cast entangle to be centered around them and hopefully not hitting you but I realized it has to be centered upon the plant, am I right? One more question, does the summoned eagle needs to do a save or not? I mean its flying.

Hajar nar Jundi |

Ok well shooting bow at Demon. I posted rolls earlier so I missed. I'll update the map. Put a round recap up please so I don't get too confused. Leyli's actions messed me up.

GM: Dave the Dwarf |

No problem.
Ambush round:
Hajar shot an arrow into the Schir and did 6 damage.
Gunk threw a bomb at the Schir but it resisted the damage. The splash hit 2 of the 3 gnolls beside the Schir.
Naziri Shot his bow and downed Gnoll 4.
Raj Cast an illusion that looked like a summoned Hound Archon and fooled everyone.
Leyli Cast her Entangle spell All but 2 of the gnolls were affected.
Hamzah held his action as did Grim.
Round 2:
The Schir casts protection from Good to defend himself from the perceived Hound Archon. And then used his Tongues ability to threaten the caster of the summon.
The gnolls need to make Str checks to break free of the entangle. The 2 that are free attacked the illusion. The one that hit needs to make a will save.
Hajar shoots and misses.
Naziri kills another Gnoll. Gnoll 1
Leyli uses the round to cast a summon spell.
Gunk throws a bomb to K21 and 1 gnoll can reflex save the other can not since he is stuck in place. So Gnoll 5 takes 5 more damage for a total of 10.
Good call on the round recap I needed that myself!

GM: Dave the Dwarf |

Gnoll 6 Reflex save 1d20 ⇒ 20 No damage.
Gnoll Str Checks to break free of the roots full round actions.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16,1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13 I think Yellow Gnoll 5 breaks free with a 16 but I don't know what Leyli's DC is.
The Schir took a standard action to cast so that is all he can do now.
Raj,and Hamzah can take round 2 actions. Grim is just chilling

Hajar nar Jundi |

Since everything is entangled.
Round 3 Actions
Hajar fires his longbow at the Demon Bow: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Unless the demon gets free and moves to engage then
Hajar swings Tempest in a demon cleaving arc Tempest: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27 Slash: 2d4 + 9 ⇒ (4, 2) + 9 = 15

Al-Akim Naziri |

Al-Akim allows Hajar to draw the Demon's attention, and continues to strike out at the Gnolls!
Gnoll 5
attack1: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 + 2 = 20
attack2: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 2 = 11
damage1: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
damage2: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

GM: Dave the Dwarf |

Raj can still take an action in round 2.
Round 3.
The first arrow takes Gnoll 5 down. Naziri takes a shot at Gnoll 6 but misses.
Hajar Misses the Demon.
The Demon manages to break the bonds on the entangle spell but it takes him the whole round. (No roll because I need him free to give a challenge.)
Gnoll 6 gets a will save to see if it is an illusion. This would have happened in round 2. 1d20 ⇒ 7The gnoll still thinks he is fighting a Archon.
Gnoll 2 attempts to break out of the entangle. 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Gnoll 6 and 3 attack the illusion some more. 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17,1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Gnoll 6 and 3 get will saves. 1d20 ⇒ 3,1d20 ⇒ 9 They still seem to think the illusion is real!

Hajar nar Jundi |

Ok, if the Goat Demon (Schir?) gets free in round 3. Hajar only took a standard action to shoot his bow. Can I retroactively round 3 take a free action to drop the bow and move action to draw Tempest. Wanna be ready for it when it comes in round 4.

Leyli Wildspeaker |

The eagle will be neutral since I summoned it and if I recall it will follow my alignment since I can't summon any good or evil because of the way the druid class works. Unless I can speak its language, all it will do for now is just attack the nearest enemy, which in this case is the goat demon.
===Round 3===
"Slay the demon!" as the mighty bird of prey lashes out at the demon goat.
Talon: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Talon: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
"Give them all the arrows that you have,"
Leyli will ready an attack if something gets to escape,
Quarterstaff: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
The eagle will last for 2 rounds.

Leyli Wildspeaker |

===Round 4===
"That's one formidable foe, Nature, I need your help once more. Furball guard me while I'm doing this ritual."
Meanwhile the eagle continues its attacks at the demon goat,
Talon: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Talon: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
... to no avail.
Leyli prepares to cast Summon Nature's Ally as a full round action, while Furball readies an attack to whoever gets within range.
1 more spell left, Cure Light Wounds, I will place my next eagle near the gnolls.

GM: Dave the Dwarf |

I don't really see how furball could attack until some people move. Your pretty clogged up there.
Hajar waits for the demon goat to come to him. The Goat would charge if it could but the entangle prevents it.
The Schir power attacks with its disgusting Halbred.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
1d10 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18 A brutal attack!
Hajar are you immune to disease yet? If not make a DC 15 Fort save.

Hajar nar Jundi |

I'm not immune to disease.....yet. fort: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
If the one hit drops me ignore the following
Hajar takes the brutal strike and calls on his goddess for aid.
Lady of Light give me your strength!
The healing power of Sarenrae flows into Hajar's body Lay on Hands: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 1) = 7
Hajar then screams a warcry and his weapon erupts into flames!
حرائق نلقي لك شيطان
Tempest: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20 Slash: 2d4 + 9 ⇒ (1, 2) + 9 = 12 Fire: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Gunk |

Sorry guys, I can't do a single thing against that goat. I've got absolutely nothing. Hopefully Hajar doesn't go down. Just a quick question though GM Dave. The gnolls with the X through them are dead? So there is only 2 left?
Gunk will throw a bomb at gnoll 6
rng tch: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Hamzah Hamas Al Dajannah |

Hamzah lays his hand on Hajar, "Sarenrae, heal thy servant so that he may glorify you." Hamzah's hand emanates sunlight that passes from his hand into Hajar's flesh. The warm sunlight bathes Hajar's wound and knits his flesh.
Cure Light Wounds:1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Hajar nar Jundi |

We ready to post round 5 actions?

Hajar nar Jundi |

I used 2 charges, I haven't read anywhere that said LOH had to be used 1 charge per swift action. I'll read again and confirm. Yeah it doesn't say that I can't use more than one use of LOH per swift action. It does specify that using it offensively is a standard action, so that precludes more than one usage. I'll let Dave figure it out.
Round 5
DAWNFLOWER!
Hajar swings Tempest around his body in a blur, striking at the head and neck of the Schir!
Tempest: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17 Slash: 2d4 + 9 ⇒ (4, 3) + 9 = 16 Fire: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Quick someone use aid another

GM: Dave the Dwarf |

I dont have a problem with that interpertation unless someone else does. Be a good question for the fourms.
I will allow aid another actions so Hajar can kill this thing. Even though it will probally get one more hit in regardless.
Entangle was the MVP of this fight. Took out the gnolls entirely. That and the illusion that Im pretty sure that I ran wrong. But how funny is it that 2 gnolls stand in the middle of deadly combat pretty much fighting a cardboard cut out! Rofl!

Hamzah Hamas Al Dajannah |

You can only use one use of LoH per action. That is why it is called uses and not charges or something else as you are calling it. And LoH does not say anything about using it as a nova effect. It gets up to 10d6 and you cannot suddenly heal yourself with four uses for 40d6 or do such damage to an undead creature with using a single action. Where would anyone even come up with such an interpretation? It's never been that way in 3E or Pathfinder. No. I'm not cool with that.
Dave, that question would not be answered in the rules forum by the FAQ. This is the first I have seen of anyone interpreting LoH the way Hajar has interpreted it. No one I know uses it that way or ever has. That's why this is surprising to even read. Charges are not what uses of LoH are. It is uses. It is very specific about how you can use it. When you can use multiple uses, it says so. Such as it requiring two uses of LoH to do Channel Energy one time. A paladin cannot say use 4 uses of LoH to double his Channel Energy ability.

Hajar nar Jundi |

Upon further reflection Hamzah is 100% correct on this. I was wrong and I retract all statements to the contrary. In the above example it wouldn't have mattered much because I took 2 actions pretty much back to back but I can forsee a time when using more than one use per swift action would get silly.
