Nora looks down in shock as the creature is able to gash through her skin, leaving an angry red mark down her chest.
"But... wha...oh this is not good."
Nora concentrates her demonic energy, a sickly feeling infusing her as she attempts to channel it.
Nora is going to try and cast Vampiric Touch on EH1, I've adjusted Nora CL to be more in line with a PC so that her offensive SLAs don't feel quite so overpowered (i.e. CL 6 vs. CL 12 for base succubus). If there are any issues with this let me know.

Nora Brim |
DM Greg, how do you handle Rend with DR? treat rend damage separately to both attacks? add rend damage to most damaging attack? least damaging attack? only happens if both deal damage above the DR? I've seen it done all of the above ways. It's the Difference between Nora being at 34/45 HP (best case all done separately or 16/45 HP (Worst Case: damage added to most damaging claw attack).
Nora can feel the claws bite into her again, tearing quickly through the vitality she gained from her magic. Concern wracks her face as she plays with the ring on her finger, looking quickly over at her companions. This is getting bad, but I don't want to just leave them to die.
Nora launches herself straight back from the creature, her wings beating heavily as she lifts herself in the air. Fly to N26 at 45 degree angle to ground. So 25 feet back and 25 feet up. Auto-succeed check to avoid losing altitude if EH1 or EH2 manage to hit me during their respective AoOs.
Summoning her courage, Nora reaches out for one of the creatures minds. EH1. "You must stop attacking us please, we are your friends. we don't want to hurt you."
Cast Charm Monster on EH1. DC 21. Pythagoras theorem puts monster at 39 feet from me. Just in range for Charm Monster (40ft at CL6).
Also Gerhard, how did you manage to dodge that second claw from EH5 with a 26 attack? I'm seeing your AC as 21
DM Greg |
the AC 26 attack doesn't hit you Gerhard? please like wolf give me a ooc tab when your AC moves up or down from the one in your status bar
rend damage is applied if both attacks hits. they don't have to pierce trough DR to make the Rend. Rend is applied separately as it is a separate automatic attack
Eina |
Eina spares a moment to look around, and even less to that things are going badly.
"Someone grab Phurs and fall back. We need to negate their numbers."
Eina dives in with all of the ferocity she can muster, hoping to make herself a target, her wings spread wide and her fangs are bared in a snarl.

Wolf - Martikio |
Stupid trolls, they got my post. Last round Wolf would have moved to be flanking with Eina, thus moving to (R,20) or (R, 19).
Round 5

She doesn't even have time to scream as everything goes dark.

She flies quickly towards the onslaught, trying to figure out how to affect these horrible monsters.

Seeing Wolf protecting Eina with Gerhard, Nora loops back around heading towards phurs, and drops to the ground beside him. She looks over to the combat on the other side and looks at the charmed monster. You do not want to be part of this any longer, you've seen one of your kind already die, that should not be your fate. Leave this combat.

Nora Brim |
Nora drops to her knees, looking down at Phurs unconscious body wracked with concern. I'm reading 55 damage from attacks, + 3 rounds so potentially at -6 if he auto failed every stabilize?
She reaches into her bag of holding, procuring a Potion of Infernal healing, and whispers at phurs. "Don't you die on me yet." She uncorks the bottle and forces it down his throat. should stabilize him and he would wake up in 5 more rounds at worst case.
Move action - retrieve potion. Standard Action - make phurs drink it
Wolf - Martikio |
Wolf casts a shocking grasp provoking from the last enemy. He traces in the air the somatic while focusing on the last threat. Stating, "Electicity be mine", electricity forms on his claw and with a quick strike he tries to connect.

Because the creature is partly unable to fully concentrate on his defense since he has an other enemy to deal with Wolf is able to hit him with his electrical spell and kills it.
Nora is able to make phurs drink a potion of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 he breathing gets easier and most of the bleeding stops but he doesn't regain consciousness
Round 9 Top
The last creature slowly starts to disappear bit by bit.
you can try to attack it but it will break the enchantment. Unless you do attack it, this combat is over. Well done
Wolf - Martikio |
Wolf activates his belt of healing, a boon item that has saved himself on may occasions before, touching Eina with his foot she is affected by a cure light. 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
He quickly gets to Gerhard, expending another of the five charges on his belt to stabilize him.1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
He then bends over her looking to see to her wounds. Pulling out bandages and a poultice he begins to take his time. Taking a 20 to treat deadly wounds, getting 25 with a DC 20. Eina heals 1 hit point per HD/level +2 Wolf's Wisdom modifier.
If no one has taken care of the others he will treat their deadly wounds as well.
Nora Brim |
Nora shoulders slump while she breathes in a sigh of relief as she watches the last creature slowly being to vanish. She looks back down at phurs, a smile on her face as she shes his breathing begin to stabilize.
"How is everyone over there?" She yells out to wolf, rubbing the gash she received during the fight. "I saw Eina and Gerhard go down during the fight."
Eina |
Eina breathes a little easier under Wolf's administrations. She doesn't regain consciousness yet, however.
Please let me know if I'm mistaken, but that is how much she'll heal with a full night's rest, correct?
Wolf - Martikio |
Sorry, I used it as a place holder and never changed it. Since Wolf's Wisdom modifer is actually a 0. Eina and Gerhard just gain hp per HD.
"They are alive but that is about all right now." He says as he keeps working on Eina.
Taking a 20 will take at least a few minutes to an hour. Depending on what Greg chooses, so you can tell he will be mending their wounds for quick a bit of time.
You are correct Eina.
After mending their wounds Wolf pulls out a potion and helps Gerhard drink it if he is still not awake. 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Nora Brim |
DM Greg - Potion of infernal healing not CLW. so 10 HP healed over 10 rounds. Seemed like the far more thematic choice for Nora. Using unholy water (evil) for good.
Nora runs over to Eina, grabbing at the other potion in her bags. "I am sorry dear, you're not likely to enjoy this, but it is for your own good."
Nora forces the other potion of hers down Eina's throat. Potion of infernal healing. so 10 HP healed over the next minute. Detects as Evil and can tell magic is evil for duration of the effect, but no effect on alignment. Still not sure how happy our paladin will be as she is infused with evil.
Eina |
About half a minute after Nora forces the potion down Eina's throat, the young paladin wakes up in a coughing fit. Before Wolf can keep her from doing anything, she is on her hands and knees coughing and retching as her wounds begin to close. Almost another half-minute passes before she calms down. Her limbs give out and she lies curled up on the ground, shivering and whimpering softly.
"P-p-please don't do that again."
Nora Brim |
Nora reaches down and places a sympathetic hand on Eina's shoulder. "I am truly sorry though that I put you through that, and I promise I will try to not let it get to this point again. However, I give no guarantees on my actions. Your life is far more valuable to me than protecting your ideals about good and evil." Nora replies, honest concern and adoration in her voice.
"I have exhausted all of my ability to heal now though. You would be invaluable my dear in helping us save the rest of our companions." She adds, standing up and offering the young girl her hand. I truly am sorry Eina. I never intended for you to ever have to feel what it is like to have evil pervading your body.
