Nora realizes the beast is unlikely to stop his feeding frenzy, even if charmed at this point. Sadly she steps up, and claws at the magnificient creature, but just can't will herself to actually harm it.

Round 3

The Displacer Beast chooses another route for Round 3, it takes a full withdraw action, giving Phurs and Eina an AoO as it moves away from the group. Around the group and out the door as quick as it can go.

Eina takes one last swipe at the thing as it flees, and finally manages to land a blow.


New Information came to my attention.

As the beasts leaves you all get blasted by a mental attack, Will Save DC 17 or be stunned for 3d4 rounds, Filk, Phurs and Gerhard all fail their saves and drop to the ground. Everyone else gets a +4 to your save.

Also not seeing the spell being cast is not for sure what it was except likely psionic. "Protect those who are down. I believe the attack was psionic but not for sure, definitely a mental attack."

Basically doing 2 rounds in each 60ft cone then re-doing scan to the side. In cones with no companions in it, will just spend a round to see if any conscious thought. Should be able to determine number of thinking minds. If numbers don't match what I see then WHABAM, hidden invisible dude.

Wolf sets up his bedroll and attempts to analyze the wand but shakes his head as he fails to figure out how many charges are left. He then gets to sleep as fast as possible with the others around him.
8 hours rest to reprepare my spells and to let Eina get a full night's rest. Gerhard will likely treat deadly wounds on her and make some healing mixtures if he can.

Okay, so if I got the math right, she should have healed 4 HP from rest and another 7 from the CLW. I'd hate to use the LoHs since she is the only one that can heal people reliably, and she may not have access to a wand in time.

Before going to bed Wolf would come over to Eina who is obviously still hurt and use the rest of the charges on his belt to heal her but telling her first before doing so, "Eina I see you are still hurt and since we are resting it would be best if you were up to par, let me use the rest of the charges of my belt on you. If you want, you may use it. All you have to do is say 'Lillivianis' which is the Elven word for 'Skylark'."

two individual charges = 4d8 of healing: 4d8 ⇒ (6, 2, 3, 4) = 15

If Eina is walking a bit gingerly in the morning since she is still wounded, Wolf would tell her in a caring voice, "Eina, use the wand of healing and get yourself healed up, I still don't know how many charges are left in it but use it all up if needed, I have a belt of healing if necessary for any damage done during combat and Gerhard should be able to patch up anything once we get back."

Shouldn't that get a +3 per charge? I thought CMW was a 1d8+3 min.


The item is underpowered to be cheaper, it does not go by all standard creation rules. It is from Magic Item Compendium 3.5, otherwise yes you are correct.

Between Wolfs charges of healing, Gerhard mixing up a few extracts, his ministrations to Eina before and as she sleeps, Eina is awake in the morning with full hit points. She won't need to use the wand but has it handy as they venture forth during the dark hours of the morning.

I will be taking over from here on out, so it may be a bit choppy, just play along. ;)


The tower's base looks solid all the way around it no obvious door or entrance is on it.

Perception DC 20:
You can see a faint line of the green material outlining where a door might be. Two rectangular recesses are in the 'doorway', a line of the green material goes to the ground and both lead over the ground in opposite directions.
