Roland de Ridonport |
Roland pasues for a moment to listen for the sounds of battle, trying to determine the status of the fight.

Darque Naia |
Naia likewise listens for sounds of the battle.
"I do not any longer believe we can insert ourselves successfully into yonder battle before it ends, nor do I think we can travel with haste to the battle without exposing ourselves to further risk or harm -swift travel allows for too little care or caution.
This room has far too many entrances to it - if we wish to ambush any pursuers or scouts looking to ascertain where the watery creature came from, I advise we return to the initial site and wait for them as Rameth and Ealasaid suggested."
Rameth the Delver |
Rameth nods and walks back
i can't help but feel bad for the creature
Roland de Ridonport |
Roland brings up the rear, keeping an eye out behind them.

Ok, so back to the water room!
Roland, when you were all still back in the large room, you noticed the sounds appeared to be coming from the North West.
On the way back to the water room, you hear the sounds slowly begin to die out and the battle appear to end. You do not hear or see anything else on the walk back, except for a pretty cool little slug that was oozing along at one point. He was pretty chill.
The water room contains many rusted pieces of pipes and four empty barrels, besides the pipes and keg that lead through the complex.
Darque Naia |
I'm guessing a human could not fit in the barrels?
Just double checking - the skeletons were in room 5, the zombolds and chest
in room 13, the broken cage/bedrolling ghost of whimperer's past was room 15 and the water elemental/pipes room 14?
If that is correct, then perhaps some of use could wait in room 13 and some could hide behind the door or barrels in the pipe room (#14). Any other ideas? We want to make sure we contain them is all…
Rameth the Delver |
Do we know that they will come for us?
Roland de Ridonport |
[ooc]1 or 2 could also wait in room #4.[ooc]
"Rameth, while I not sure if they will come this way, they could easily track the water trail back this way. I agree that it may be a wise decision to lay in wait for a few moments to see what happens."

On Going Effects:
Rameth the Delver |
Rameth will wait in the water elemental room to the side of the door.
Darque Naia |
Naia will wait in Room 13 with Ealasaid, unless Quartle and Namon want to, in which case Naia will support Rameth. She just prefers coming at people from behind… Aah, stuff it. Naia will wait behind the barrels in room 4 with Rameth.
Roland, Room 4 is just a bit far away… 30 ft from #4 door to #14 door…, though you might also keep an eye on the southwestern door of room 4 in case "they" come that way…
Roland de Ridonport |
Yep, Roland thought about all that and more, but he is adaptable. ;)
Roland looks at the light source(s) that just came into the room with him.
"Welcome friends," Roland says with a smile. "Yes, I see the plan forming in my mind now, attract them to this room with the light, so that the others may attack from the rear."

DajellyMan |
Ok, so Ealasaid and Buffy in room 13, Rameth and Quartle in room 14, Roland and Namon in room 4?
after 6d10 ⇒ (7, 9, 10, 9, 5, 9) = 49 minutes, you all hear the faint pitter patter of footsteps coming down the hall. No light sources are seen. When the steps enter the hallway, they suddenly stop, apparently alerted to the light.
Rameth the Delver |
Rameth chugs down his last shield extract and puts a sharpened knife in each hand
Darque Naia |
No, in my post I equivocated before I went for supporting Rameth in the end, and Quartle didn't post. I'm hiding behind the barrels.
Though I got the room number wrong! Regardless, Naia is in the water elemental roo - 14 - with Rameth, in the dark, unable to see, behind the barrels.
Naia gets a sunrod ready to unleash.
DajellyMan |
Ah yes, I did read that, and then promptly forgot :x. So Rameth and Naia in the water room, let's just say Quartle is in the other room with Ealasaid, so that everyone is in a group of two?
Let me know if there is anything else anyone wants to do in preparation, otherwise we will continue on!
Darque Naia |
Naia listens very carefully for armor clinking, feet padding or heavy breathing to know when other evildoers (apart from her!) enter the room...
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
DajellyMan |
Out of the corner of her eye, Naia sees four humanoid shapes very quietly creep into the hallway. They are not talking, but they certainly seem to be fervently gesturing to each other with various hand motions.
It seems that they have decided it is safe, and move down the hall towards the light...
Surprise Round, go!

Rameth the Delver |
Wow I hope that was a boss or their caster lol
DajellyMan |
Oh, Rameth, you would almost one shot the captain... ;p
Rameth charges from his hiding place as the (quite obviously now) drow move past them, falling hook, line, and sinker for the trap.
His blade cuts deep into the back of one of the dark elves, nearly dropping him to the floor. His eyes fly wide with anger and horror as blood begins to spill from his mouth. He is alive, but just barely...
"BRIAN, G&%!@~NIT! YOU SWORE THERE WAS NOONE THIS COULD BE A TRAP! GAAAAH! KILL HIM! KILL HIM DEAD!"
Roland de Ridonport |

Rameth - Stabs his other dagger into the back of what must be the captain, dropping it to the ground unconscious and dying!
stabilize: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Namon - Shoots forth a frotsy ray, striking the frightful drow and leaving a thin layer of ice across his chest. He then rises up, seeing much larger than his usual self and address the Drow in Infernal. Their eyes all grow wide and they appear noticeably shaken.
Ealasaid - Since Naia moved in D10, I'm, moving you to flank with Roland, so long as that's ok?
Ealasaid gracefully steps over the fallen drow and moves to flank with Roland, flail flying in the air! The drow is so frightened that it actually manages to shiver out of the way!
Quartle - Leans up against the doorway, enjoying watching his party kill drow. He pulls out an apple and begins to munch.
Roland - Steps forward, longsword emblazoned the the crest of Iomedae, and then he brings the blade down at the drow's neck, ending its life!

Darque Naia |
Fortitude: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Naia topples forward onto the downed drow captain. And begins to loot him.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Naia is looking for the captain's sword/mace, daggers, pouches etc; also checking out his armor as she goes. Does the captain or any of these other slain drow have hand crossbows? Naia has no more ranged capability. Though she *could* have grabbed her shortspear...
Darque Naia |
Unless of course the poison puts her to sleep...
And how many times do I have to tell you, it's a scale armor bikini! Completely stylish. None of that chainmail nonsense - chafes too much and sends completely the wrong message...
DajellyMan |
Round 2
Naia - OD's on some Drow drugs and passes out hard.
Rameth - Charges forward, another knife springing into his hand and then just as quickly into the neck of another Drow, dealing 7 damage and dropping it to the group, bleeding and dying.
Namon - Drow Will Save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16
Having seen this trick contribute to the deaths of his comrades, this drow manages to shake off the fearful effects Namon attempts to instill in his mind.
"You dare use the toungue of the demon princes on us, mage? You killed the captain, and our leader's will be most displeased. He was... a favorite pet... and you shall pay for your insolence!"
Ealasaid - Nimbly steps over Buffy's sleeping, nubile form and charges toward's the chatty drow. Flail raised on eye, she brings all her Elven rage into a furious blow against her enemy! But... the drow manages to evade.
Quartle - Is MIA, apparently
Roland - Seeing trouble behind them, he rushes over to aid his allies.

Drow - The drow in front of Ealasaid drops its hand crossbow andin one fluid motion pulls out its rapier and lunges at the elf.
The other drow loads another bolt and fires at Rameth!
