Rameth the Delver |

Rameth translates, though perhaps the venom of the words is lost the intent remains.

Rameth the Delver |

shall we take him out ? A live Drow is certainly proof they are around.

Ealasaid of the Golden hair |

What is he saying Rameth? Also half elf if you know the language of your elven parentage speak it, perhaps after the millennia in the depths the drow still speak their own, warped form of the elven tongue.
Just for a second a spark of fury lights in Ealasaid eyes.
No wizard, I do not know the elven tongue...
...We have to move, there are still things to kill in this cave.

DajellyMan |

The drow gives a look of hate at the half-elf, and then mockingly says in Elven:
"I can barely understand your foul uplander tongue, but I understand enough to see your rage. Did the dirty half breed not learn her dirty elvish tongue? Such a shame haha. You shall be an interesting test subject, I do not believe the mistress has had the pleasure of defiguring a half-elf..."
He then gives a hideous laugh.

Rameth the Delver |

Rameth kicks the Drow in the mouth

Rameth the Delver |

My question is being ignored shouldn't we take him back as the prof we need?

Darque Naia |

Sorry Rameth, I totally didn't understand the question, and had forgotten the goblins wanted proof of drow. I thought they just wanted the drow cleared out and an artifact recovered.
Also "take him out" sometimes means "kill him", thus adding to my confusion...
Naia snaps out of her strange reverie.
"Yes. My apologies Rameth. Mayhap yon goblin-chief shall reward us for this prisoner."
Naia considere Ealasaid's point.
"Agreed. The goblins are duplicitous and not to be trusted."

Rameth the Delver |

not the goblin! The mayor.

Darque Naia |

Ah. Yes - here is the post Mayor's Reward
"Did I say goblin. I meant the Mayor. Of course. Reward time!" Naia eyes Rameth shrewdly.

Rameth the Delver |

True but, we might get more if we bring proof and a prisoner
also dm what did we loot from this gouop?

Namon Nazzar |

That may be true, however a problem emerges... He could easily alert the drow and goblins to our presence, he can't do that if he is dead. Plus one doesn't need a live prisoner to get answers, with the right scrolls I will get answers from beyond the grave. Or I will see what the Lord of the Eighth is willing to dredge up, make a sacrifice big enough and Hell will answer you quickly and precisely...

Rameth the Delver |

It doesn't take that long to get out, lets just beat him unconscience.

Darque Naia |

Although impressed by the warlock's supposed abilities, Naia's disdain for the arcane arts (or divine for that matter) pushes her to agree with the delver.
"I agree with Ram. We don't need to hide from the goblins. Or at least I don't think we do. And I think him being alive, and somewhat fresh will make more of an impression on the Mayor."
She looks the captive over one more time. Then smiles sickly sweet and leans in close with her spear, waving it at parts of the drow with studied nonchalance.
"There's no need to keep him whole however. Hands, teeth, nose. None of those are integral to his continuing life."
She sniffs, then just as quickly turns away to resume her watch.
"Do what thou shall, and quickly - then let us go."
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Quartle |

"I agree. Probably worth more alive. Even though he is a most unpleasant fellow. A quick trip back to town seems in order. It might prepare us better for what the drow have in store. I am eager to continue investigating these ruins."

Ealasaid of the Golden hair |

It woudl be easier if we just kill him, but if you wat him alive we have to make sure we will not scape.
Ealasaid do non lethal damage in order to put the drow unconcious, she also break his leg using her flail
That was unpleasant...so, shall we go?

Rameth the Delver |

Agreed. Rameth supervises the tying of the Drow.
roland did you get the new supplies there?

Rameth the Delver |

np just wanted to make sure we didn't get lost in the shuffle

DajellyMan |

The drow is easily tied up tightly, and he hisses in pain as Ealasaid breaks his legs, and then subsequently goes quiet as he is knocked unconscious.
You quickly pack up camp and lead him out to the front courtyard, carefully avoid the pit, and then head down the ravine back towards the stairs. The firelight of the goblin camp is soon seen through the thick fog. If there was ever a time to decide about stealth or not, it would be now.

Darque Naia |

Naia pulls up and hisses quietly.
I say we try the truth, with some bribery. We have a prior deal with the mayor. Once rewarded for the drow we will come back stronger. Plus we can sweeten the deal with some of this drow equipment or give them a few shinies - coins, baubles what have you.
They will likely want the drow themselves for some bestial amusement, but I think if we give them some weapons or armor they might be sated. Plus, we are their only hope to retrieve their artifact, AND we can get them more of this armor and weaponry inside. But first we need to do what we need to do. They should understand that…"
She smiles cruelly.
"[/b]Plus, if there is any trouble, I'll have my crossbow ready and loaded to shoot the leader…[/b]

Rameth the Delver |

I agree. Lets do it.

Namon Nazzar |

Another alternative is available now that I think of it, I have not made my daily invocations to Merchant of Souls... I can request an invocation that will allow us to make the goblin leader exceptionally pliant to our desires.
charm person and consider Namon at least for an hour to have not prepared his spells.

Rameth the Delver |

Even better.

Darque Naia |

Well that went swimmingly. Nice roll Da-J. Things just got very interesting. ;)
On a happier note, Naia will now be justifiably convinced arcanists are complete flunkies. ;P

Rameth the Delver |

No you aren't. We are passing back through to go get more supplies so we can finish killing these dirty drow. We leave you with a small token of or friendship, when we return we will be able to finish the job.
Rameth tosses down two hand crossbows and a rapier for Ird.
Rameth would have taken a shield extract

Rameth the Delver |

This one is coming with us. But we will be back through within the day to finish the job.
Rameth picks the Drow up by the tunic and flips him back over his shoulder.

Roland continues walking slowly in the fog, trying to keep 20-25 feet away from the goblin voices.
He stays at the ready incase things go wonky and he is needed to assist.
Stealth: 1d20 - 6 + 20 ⇒ (15) - 6 + 20 = 29 Effectivly invisible because of Fog

Rameth the Delver |

1d20 - 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (15) - 2 + (1) = 14 to assist someone good at this!
use 1 pt of inspiration

Darque Naia |

Naia scowls, remembering that on the way in Roland, currently hiding in the fog, was the big negotiator with Chief Ird. She thinks on her feet, hands held low and palms showing, ready to draw the loaded hand crossbow tucked behind her back in her belt...
"Chief Ird - Roland, the brave warrior, even now hunts the Drow, and when we return we will resume hunting for the artifact..."
Bluffing!: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 Critical Fail!

Chief Ird |

Ird stares at Naia, but also frantically scans the fog for signs of Roland, who scares the crap out of him:
"You think goblin chief a fool? How you think chief become chief? Not by listening to lying woman folk *spit*. You can just tell Ird truth, and admit that you are scared of drow elves! Scary cats! Well, you best hurry on back, and get that dark elf out of my sight!
"Ird cares not what you do or go, so long as it doesn't harm goblins of Ird! But if you don't come back, goblin tribe come find you, and burn everything along the way! You made deal with Ird! Do not go back on deal! Or I eat your bones in my stew!"
