DM Yavilore learns the Format

Game Master MageHunter

Just me testing out Paizo's forums for online RPG's. Private, and tested out with predetermined friends.

Here you can talk a bit. I wouldn't post build ideas here, but if you want me to change the backstory and background of the "campaign" in order to fit you guys better that's fine. I'm just trying to learn all the tricks for online RPG's here. You can also taunt each other before the duel... ;) I'm looking into ways to make maps, I believe Google Slides was one good one, so maybe after the duel you guys could rematch so I can test out a digital map. Any other people watching may decide who they think will win. Not really any basis to go on, so team HW (HappyWalrus) or team AE (AwesomelyEpic).

I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed to choose either HW or AE, right? ;)

So the way this works is that you say what you try to do, roll, and reading stat blocks say all the effects.

Any objections?

Male Rakshasa Investigator (Mastermind) 10

That's what I expected.

Just a reminder that while this is mostly for me to practice the online format, it's still good for you two to practice roleplaying during combat. I might say, and his leg shattered from the bolt, which the victim might scream whatever is appropriate for their back story and personality. Tactics also have roleplaying. You can hang back defensively, or go full out beast. Whatever fits you the best.

Let's go over what to type.

There are special commands in "How to format your text," and they denote specific things.

"ooc" denotes Out Of Character. Pretty simple, instead of what your character is saying, it's the player talking. For example, "Guys I'll be out of town so I can't check up on the game,"

Bold indicates dialogue. For example, "I shall smite you heathen!"

Italics are used for emphasis, and I see it used for internal dialogue. For example, "Ah, he hit harder than I thought. Time to try a new angle...

Spoilers are used to show information to either save space, or specifically denote who it's for. Say you have a bunch of damage bonuses. Put it in a spoiler to save space and avoid walls of text.

Dice are kind've weird but pretty handy. Just say what the roll is for, the die you're rolling, and then your bonus.

Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21

You can also make things bigger or smaller for a special kind of emphasis.

Please leave me... alone... vs. AM BARBARIAN!!!

Ordinary text is normally just a narrative. For example, "He moves three squares left and readies a vital strike,"

Good luck.

Here's something to help out with your builds. On the profile it asks Class/Level, so I would copy paste this template and put it in a spoiler called "Quick Stats"

As an Example here's a character I made, Furx. He has this and if you click on him you'll notice where it is.
