Blast. Was hoping he wouldn't get that one!
Goldoth stands near the front. When Tindertwig issues his warning, his grip on his axe tightens.

The kobold takes the arrow and collapses into the ground, the shaft pointing out of it's chest. It never saw the arrow coming...
It appears the kobold was alone, but further down the cave come the sounds of steel on rock, and the grubling of broken Draconic.
the kobold is bleeding out, he carried no loot nor anything other than a sling and a torch.

Zimul |

"One more to interrogate."Zimul remarks."Come, let's bring him along with us while we explore this place."
Cast stabilise on kobold. Also use rod Sylvia gave on kobold.

![]() |

The rod buzzes and you pick up a high concentration of quintessence... but not in the kobold. It is in the ore that Tindertwig had snatched.
Thindertwig advances ahead, trying to keep silent.
Luckily he makes his way forward without notice. He spots the other kobold, about 13 of them. They carry picks and hammers, but no weapons. A group of them is colecting stones to move out of the way while others are chipping away at the walls. A hooded figure stands in the middle, a whip in its hands. Occasionally it cracks the whip at a straggler.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Tindertwig&Dirtbag |

Tindertwig watches the kobolds and, especially, the one with the whip for a moment.
He then attempts to sneak back to the group to report.
stealth: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31
Once back, the excited goblin points back down the tunnel, whispering,
Wees gots most rats. Dere be a whip-man too.
The little goblin seems to be counting his fingers. After 3 tries, a rippit, rippit is given by Dirtbag.
More than three!, the goblin confidently relays.

Megildur Fallan |

"How many in total? We need to know exactly"
With that Meg pulls out some chalk and starts drawing lines on the wall until Tindertwig tells him to stop.

Zimul |

"Good job, Tindertwig. With that many, we need a plan, right?" He asks the group, being careful to keep his voice hushed.

Megildur Fallan |

"I can try to hit the centre one with a bomb and it will hit a few that surround him but after that all bets are off. Mind you we have 2 very stalwart gentlemen here who are very capable in melee combat."
Meg begins to pull out components from various pouches

Goldoth |

Goldoth holds up his right hand, extending his thumb out and fingers up, and repeatedly brings the tips of his fingers together to his thumb in quick succession.

Zimul |

Zimul asks for Ra's blessing for the party.
Everyone gets +1 to hit for 2 min. Lets go!

Megildur Fallan |

Meg finishes prepping his bomb, he aims at the whip wielder, trying to get within 20 feet without being noticed.
stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Goldoth looks dejected as everyone ignores his suggestion, but follows along.

here. Will hold back. Then attack if things go bad. He isnt made for stealth

Goldoth |

It's fine, Gyro. You can't possibly fail your stealth any harder than Goldoth has. ;)

![]() |

unfortunately, Goldoth somehow fails to keep quiet even holding still the kobolds and the figure notice your approach, but the bomb landing in their midst throws them into chaos.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
the hooded figure growls something in an unfamiliar language.
the kobolds that didn't get hit bu the bomb are retreating those that did are on the ground incapacitated by their wounds.
There are five reeling on the ground, otherwise the figure was swift enough to avoid a majority of the fire. the others are running deeper into the caves

Zimul |

"May Ra guide your axe-arm" Zimul prays.
Inspiring Command (Su): As a standard action, you can issue an inspiring command to your allies. The inspiring command affects one ally plus one additional ally for every three cleric levels you possess, who must all be within 30 feet of you. Affected allies gain a +2 insight bonus on attack rolls, AC, combat maneuver defense, and skill checks for 1 round. This is a language-dependent mind-affecting effect. - On Goldoth

Goldoth |

About how far away from Goldoth is the hooded figure?

Tindertwig&Dirtbag |

Tindertwig watches Goldoth for a moment.
Looks. Mees shows yous.
Ranged shortbow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Goldoth |

Twiggy, I think you've taken your turn this round already. Gonna try and pester Alitas into posting.

Goldoth |

Fair fair. I figured since the robed figure took his turn in that post, that he was counting your action within the initiative, but I can see it interpreted either way, so I guess we'll wait for the GM.
Alitas is at work, so I dunno if he'll be able to post until later. In the meantime...
Goldoth rushes forward at the hooded figure presumably once Alitas begins to play his music, taking a great swing with the flat of his felling axe.

using Goldoth's attack there. going to bot Gyro as charging in then...
Gyro sees the situation has turned sour and advances, charging the hooded figure.Attack w. bastardsword: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
unfortunately the figure parries.
the kobolds run, unarmed and weak they'd rather not get crushed by the large orc in front of them.
tindertwig's time to react.

Tindertwig&Dirtbag |

Smiling widely, the goblin lets fly another at the whip-man.
Ranged shortbow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
BOOM! Goblin's on fire!

Zimul |

"Let his strength fill you as you carry out his will."Zimul moves closer to Goldoth and chants.
inspiring command, Goldoth. Stay within 10 ft of Goldoth.

The man grips his whip in his off hand and swipes it around, lashing at Goldoth's legs.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23 non-leathal: 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
The whip wraps around his legs and the man Pulls with all his strength.
Trip: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Goldoth is sent sprawling onto the ground.
Party up

Zimul |

I don't think the trip landed.. As a standard action, you can issue an inspiring command to your allies. Goldoth's CMD with command is 19.

Goldoth |

Also don't think Goldy took any damage. Per the SRD, "A whip deals no damage to any creature with an armor bonus of +1 or higher or a natural armor bonus of +3 or higher."
Goldoth, having not tripped, per Zimul, is not amused, and swings mightily at the robed figure once more.
Attack Robed Figure
roll + ability (STR) + base + insight (Inspiring Command) + competence (Inspire Courage) + untyped (nonlethal)
Attack (Greataxe): 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 2 + 2 + 1 - 4 = 25
roll + ability (STR x 1.5) + competence (Inspire Courage)
Damage (Nonlethal): 1d12 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 9 + 1 = 21

Zimul |

There are feats for that. Also uh forgot to take in the charge (-2 to AC) so I think you still get tripped. I really did forget.

Goldoth |

Ah, true. In that case, Goldoth will use his move action to stand first. It'll provoke an AoO, but since the AoO resolves first, he can't trip Goldoth again, since Goldoth will still be prone when the AoO resolves.
I also realized that attacking with a whip normally provokes an AoO, and Goldoth was adjacent when he was attacked. There are feats for that too, but those feats allow you to deal lethal damage with a whip if you want, so it's weird that he would deal nonlethal damage. Let me know if maybe this was an oversight, but for now I'm assuming Whip Mastery is in play.

Gyro Linebreaker |

Gyro swings his sword in a wide arch, trying to at least make the figure focus in him instead
Swing!: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

it was intentional. This is a very skilled enemy, although he's within your lvl range.
The man seems to be still standing. His face is brused by Golfoth's mighty swing. Although he did manage to swing his sword when goldoth went to stand. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 the. Swing is clumsy.
Gyro's sword slashes into the man, who then collapses... he's not breathing.

Tindertwig&Dirtbag |

Tindertwig approaches the downed whip-man. The little goblin kicks the body, jumping back quickly.
He then shrugs his small shoulders and begins sneaking out toward the retreating rats!

If robed figure was some other natural creature (monstrous humanoid, animal, vermin, plant, or fey)
Given that he had 35 nonlethal damage on him and hadn't passed out yet, 17 lethal damage shouldn't have been enough to push him into the negatives, so he's either stopped breathing for reasons other than damage, or something like Diehard was in play. But Goldoth doesn't know any of that, so comical attempts at first aid ho!
Goldoth drops his axe, grabs the robed man by the shoulders, and begins to shake him vigorously.
