Rani |

Rani mutters, "Oh! Pretend to be asleep all you want...I know it was you. Blasted pranks. So impractical." Rani grabs a dry blanket, scoots closer to the fire, and goes back to cleaning her equipment.

** spoiler omitted **
"Rani, you want my bedroll for the night? The weather's not so bad, I can do without."

Rani |

"Rani, you want my bedroll for the night? The weather's not so bad, I can do without."
"Thank you, Karthas; you are a gentleman. Fortunately I have an extra blanket," she flashes a glare at Berenkor. "Keep your bedroll so that you, at least, get a decent night's sleep."
Looking back I guess Sully didn't say but I assumed this happened to her while on watch.

Harther Medvyed |

Harther starts awake at Rani's shriek. He hides a smirk when he sees that she is only soaking wet, but stays quiet until the others go back to sleep. Once everyone settles back down, the ranger moves to sit next to Rani near the fire.
"So he got you, too?" Harther asks quietly. "He got me the same way, the night before we met the kobolds."

Eseldra |

Eseldra growls a bit at the sleep-preventing conversation of Rani and Harther. She casts a prestidigitation, uses it to dry Rani off as best she can, then uses it to carry the remains of the cold water and dump it on Berenkor. "Now can we all grow up a bit and get some sleep!?" She turns over and tries to go back to sleep.
Sigh. She's really opening herself up as the victim of the next prank, but oh well...

Berenkor Trandoran |

Your accusations and surly looks at Berenkor are met only by the same soft snoring you hear every night when he is asleep. He wakes up with a start as Eseldra pours water on him.
In Cayden's name, what the bloody hell are you doing? I need my sleep as much as the rest of you! he says, sounding both confused and angry.
He actually sounds really, really annoyed, and perhaps even a bit upset.
Berenkor looks over at Eseldra.
I expected better from a member of the old race like yourself, Madam! Never have I pulled a prank in the night upon anyone, and I would certainly not want to get someone's clothes wet like the trick you just played upon me! You've just opened a door you are going to wish you left shut, Eseldra! Berenkor finishes with a glare, and an outstretched, accusatory finger.

Berenkor Trandoran |

Yeah. Not happening for Rani either but Perception 1d20+6. LOL. Whomever actually did this is probably really enjoying the results. :)
To Harther, "Well. I guess Eseldra took care of that. He seemed genuinely surprised, though...maybe he should take up acting."
He does have a maxed out Perform (Actor) skill ;)

Berenkor Trandoran |

^^ 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3
Berenkor is little help today, as he watches Eseldra suspiciously and proclaims his innocence throughout the day to the antics of the previous night.
I'm not the only Fey creature in these parts you know. Keep your eyes peeled, for I doubt I am the only prankster in the Stolen Lands.

Survival (Aid): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

Harther considers Berenkors words carefully as he thinks about Rani's drenching last night and his own dowsing nearly two weeks ago. Thinking back on what he knows about the Fey from his time in the Gronzi forest, Harther realizes that the bard is probably correct in his assessment.

Karthas |

Morning comes, and though a little sleepy from the antics of the previous night, The Chartered Six moves on.
Survival checks for the next hex (B3), please.
Did we explore A3, was that where we found the corpse with the 12pp in its boot?

Glass Castle |

Sorry to cut in, but unless you are altering the game's charter, I am fairly sure that A3 is part of the charter; especially since you moved Oleg's over one hex. (It falls within the 36 miles east requirement).
Also I am less sure of this, but I think Row 1 is also part of the charter since there was some discussion on the boards about "annexing" the road squares, and the response was that you could but only after you explored them. (It would seem to violate the 60 miles south exploration requirement... since row one would be north of Olegs, but it's food for thought at least.)

DM Sully |

Yeah, technically you are right. I've just fudged the numbers a bit. If you all would like to explore A3 just to add it, be my guest. It certainly isn't a game breaker!
The following morning dawns wet and dreary. The Chartered Six make their way southeast, and find more grasslands. Now however, the dark line on the horizon that can only be the Narlmarches quickly becomes visible. Without incident, the party easily maps the terrain (hex B3...and yes 20xp for all). Though the hex slowly turns to forest in the east, it is primarily made of grasslands and plains - game mechanics wise.
The weather doesn't improve, and for most of the day the whole party is as soggy and bedraggled as Rani and Berenkor were the night before. Everyone is cranky and short with each other by the time the group finally takes shelter under the eaves of the forest.
Whoever's watch follows Karthas (I think it might be Rani) and Karthas himself read this. If it isn't Rani, or you aren't sure, whoever reads it first feel free to post:

Rani |

Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
"Karthas! Your hair...looks like someone's been at the pranks again." Rani giggles a little and traces a finger along Karthas' new stripe.
Edit: nope. don't see nuthin'.
Rani looks over at Berenkor but sees that he's sound asleep. She muses silently, "maybe he *was* telling the truth...but if not him, then who?" She looks around the nearby landscape for signs of visitors but sees nothing.

Karthas |

More out of frustration than any hopes of an answer, Karthas asks aloud, "Ok, you soaked my companions...I trust that what you have done to me will go away as quickly as they dried?"
Perception to hear any response:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
EDIT: Damned crickets must be too loud to hear anything else...

DM Sully |

No answer is forthcoming, but shortly into Rani's watch she notices that Karthas's hair slowly reverts back to its normal color, leaving no sign it ever looked as ridiculous as it did.
By morning, the rain has stopped, but the day looks to be overcast. Fortunately, the group is poised to enter the dense forests of the Greenbelt, unless another choice is made...
Are we heading east then? Back into the forest? Survival checks!

Karthas |

Assuming Rani and Karthas tell the others about the new prank, Eseldra concedes that she jumped to conclusions thinking that Berenkor had been committing late night pranks and formally, if stiffly, apologizes to the gnome for her error.
I would imagine that you know about it....it's not like Karthas was trying to be subtle when he was asking his unanswered question.

Berenkor Trandoran |

Apology accepted Eseldra. I can see how it was an easy assumption to make. However, when I pull a successful prank on you, you can be sure that I will gloat about it the same evening.
Survival (Aid)- 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (14) - 1 = 13

DM Sully |

The first day of exploring the territory draws to a close. After a few twists and turns, the Chartered Six makes good progress in mapping the heavily wooded region.
Much improved weather marks the following day, and the group gets an early start.
Survival checks for day two of the exploration, please!

DM Sully |

The party comes across a large pile of logs fallen into a roughly ten foot by ten foot pit on the south bank of the Thorn River. Upon further examination, they find the body of a man whose legs are pinned under the deadfall. By the looks of the body, he has been dead at least several days. It appears that the ropes that held the logs rigged to fall and crush any prey that fell through into the pit snapped while the man was working to complete his deadfall.
