Good news. I was right the first time, you should have only saved once by now. This save is null and void and you'll need to make another tomorrow.

Ok that works for me. Just a heads up, I won't be around at all tomorrow night....going to see Pearl Jam, so after about 5pm central, go ahead and make whatever rolls you need for me.

Rani |

I haven't been on the case. Rani will make a heal check, with guidance, to help K with his save. Forget exactly how it works but I think he gets a bonus if she makes the check: Heal 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 7 + 1 = 17
Edit: Okay, she has to make the disease's save DC with her heal check. If 17 makes it then K gets a +4 competence bonus on his next save.

Nice! Have fun. They are in my town on Friday, and if my friend comes through I might get to see them. Also, you get a +4 on your save tomorrow apparently! :)

So what sort of business would you all like to take care of at Oleg's?
Karthas takes Oleg to the side
"Oleg, I realize that it may be something that you can not or do not want to acquire, but I was hoping you could get a hold of a set of locksmith's tools, Thieve's Picks & Tools Hopefully something a bit more subtle than my 'Numerian lock pick'". Karthas says, pointing to his warhammer.

Oleg chuckles and says, "Aye, my friend, I know a man who knows a scoundrel and so on. I can get you some brought down from Restov. What sort of quality are you interested in obtaining?"

Oleg quotes Karthas a fair price.
Don't have the book in front of me at the moment. Standard market value plus 5%.

DM Sully |

Now is a great time to do any shopping, planning, etc. as tomorrow might be a long day for me again. Oleg's standard pricing is market +5% for you fine adventurers. I'll try to pop in and out some tomorrow, but go ahead and make any purchases you wish (and remember it may take a week or more for delivery) and plan out where you would like to head next to explore and map.
Good night!

Since the last cash split, we've acquired 7613cp, 2252sp, and 334gp. This turns into 1268cp, 373sp, and 55gp each, with 4gp, 4sp, and 5cp left over. We also have the remainder of Tartuk's items to identify and divide or sell. (Which I think is only the pouch of dust left).
We also have moon radishes to give to Svetlana (for adventuring gear), and Svetlana's ring to return to Oleg/Svetlana (for 1,000gp in store credit).
Does this sound right to everyone?
As far as where to go next, I vote we see if we can find this lost temple of Erastil.

This sounds good to me.
By the way, here's the Kingmaker Calendar
and the Greenbelt Hex Map

Rani |

Karthas looks to Rani for a response to Jhod's question
"If my companions are willing, I certainly am."
Arg. Relying on the RSS feeds again...totally didn't see Sully's post about the temple. Yah! Rani's interested. She'll also spend some time chatting with the cleric. BTW, the 2nd volume of Kingmaker has an article on Erastil (saw it when I unzipped the files into my Paizo storage drive) so I read it. Somehow I had missed that big E was a bit of a mysogynist. Nice. Rani's choosing to ignore that part of his teachings.

I'll wait for Eseldra's full breakdown if possible, but yeah we have a fair amount of both trading post credit, and I have a lot of buying and selling to do. Don't we also have a ton of loot to sell?
Berenkor nods approvingly at Karthas' question as they meet the priest of Erastil.
Aye, I believe we should aid him. Erastil is close to my heart, if not quite as close as ale and song. Berenkor chuckles.
Yeah I also read said article and thought of you Rani lol. You need to settle down and get yourself a good man Old Deadeye thinks ;)
Incidentally Sully are we due any quest XP rewards? Also, how much trade can Oleg handle at the moment?
At some point, Berenkor enquires of Oleg if the masterwork chain shirt he ordered is ready yet?

DM Sully |

Good old Erastil, the sexist, eh? It is a pretty good article, though, and really fleshes the faith out, which is great.
Oleg replies to Berenkor's inquiry about his chain shirt. "Why yes, my friend, it just arrived yesterday with a small shipment of goods and coin! Here you are, and let's try it on for size."
Oleg requested some coin from Restov, and now has 1,200gp to use to purchase your unwanted gear. He also will trade gear for credit at his trading post with no limit.
Svetlana is overjoyed when she is presented with her wedding ring. Through the tears, she gently chastises Oleg for sending the party into danger, but it is clear that she is glad to have the heirloom back. As promised, Oleg extends the party 1000gp in credit at his trading post.
Svetlana also takes the radishes with a grin and promises to make the party a soup the likes of which they have never tasted. She was right! A few hours later the Chartered Six enjoys the fruits (or in this case vegetables) of their labor in the form of what may be the tastiest stew they will ever eat.
After the meal, 'Lana presents the group with their promised rewards; an everburning torch and a broken Wayfinder. The Wayfinder isn't always reliable, and doesn't give off light anymore, but it can be used by someone to give them a +1 circumstance bonus to any Survival check to avoid getting lost or exploring a hex.

Harther Medvyed |

Thought I'd re-post this here for reference:
The area the charter requires you to explore includes hexes 2A-2F, hexes 3B-3F, hexes 4B-4F, hexes 5B-5G, hexes 6A-6F, and hexes 7B-7E. Each hex is either made up of primarily hill country or primarily forest country, with each requiring a different amount of time to travel across or fully explore. Note that travelling across a hex is not the same as fully exploring it, and just travelling is much faster. Also note that I'll ask for survival checks to avoid getting lost moving in a hex that has not been explored (aid another is possible in this case). As a group, you guys can decide how best to move through the Stolen Lands, what areas to focus on, or where to head. The overarching goal is to fully map this area, including all landmarks, resources, and so on.

Berenkor Trandoran |

Berenkor's Plans for the day at Oleg's
1. Berenkor will visit Kesten Garess, and enquire how the prisoners are getting along, and whether Kesten has learnt anything from them. Also to get a status update from Kesten, and ask him to send a runner to Restov to inform them that we have defeated about a dozen badits, and made an alliance between the local Kobold tribe known as the Sootscales and civilisation. Diplomacy roll if needed- 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
2. Berenkor will enquire of Oleg how the two former bandits are getting along, and if they are keeping their word. He will also visit Gilbert and his fellow personally and have a stern chat with them if they are slacking (Diplomacy roll), and if they are performing well will congratulate them and try and give them a pep talk (Diplomacy roll)-[ 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
3. Berenkor will check the bulletin board to see if any hunters have left further requests.
4. Finally, Berenkor will organise another 'social night' at Oleg's with Oleg's permission, inviting Kesten and his men to join them and trying to attract passing by travellers and hunters to the trading post and bring Oleg some business.
5. After a few hours of harassing travellers with promises of a fine evening of entertainment (riding around on his horse seeking people), Berenkor will spend the rest of the evening upon the walls of Oleg's, providing entertainment for his fellow Chartered Six and any relevant guests through tales of their deeds, and a bit of drunken comedy, and will grin and ask Eseldra to join him with her woodpipes.
Perform:Comedy 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Perform:Oratory 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
6. After this, Berenkor will get roaring drunk with his comrades and eventually pass out from exhaustion, hoping Rani can cure his fatigue tomorrow after the evening he's in for.
Sully, I sincerely apologise for adding to your workload and any retcon this attracts; we can assume Berenkor missed dinner in his excitement to get the evening going.

As you can see, after selling the MW handaxes, MW light shield and Berenkor's armour to Oleg, and with the 1000 store credit factored in, everybody gets 297gp, 357 sp, and 1236cp. If we all say we use the store credit first, then we won't have to worry about what is actually gold coin and what is virtual gold coin (though if people care, it's 166gp worth of credit each). I'll leave these numbers up on the Finances page for a day or two before taking them out to reflect the divvying of loot.
Eseldra will happily pick up her scroll components that she ordered from Oleg and put in an order for 150 gp more.

Okay, so everybody gets 283gp instead of 297

Berenkor Trandoran |

Reviewing my finances, I have enough to commission a masterwork longsword for Berenkor as well, just about. Unless Oleg just happens to have a mastercrafted longsword handy sized for a small person (unlikely). So I will pay 330GP, 7SP and 5CP for a small sized masterwork longsword to be ordered. Leaves me almost penniless, but worth it. You bigfeet going to get some better greatswords?

Thought about it, just haven't decided if that's what I want to do just yet. I'm actual giving more thought to a masterwork chain shirt, just to drop the armor check penalty by 1, especially since my next couple levels will be rogue.

DM Sully |

Sully - If it is alright with you, could I retcon the purchase of my thieve's pick to use "store credit", that would leave my share at 61gp, which I will gladly throw back to the party.
No problem!
Kesten is cordial to Berenkor, if not completely friendly. When Berenkor tells him of the Sootscale alliance, his eyes widen. Though dubious, Kesten promises to send word to Restov. He becomes more animated when Berenkor tells him of the many bandits who have met their end after meeting the Chartered Six.
Gilbert and Mik are found cleaning the stables. "Well, 'ello there Master Gnome!" Gilbert says happily. "The work here's been goin' smashing! I finally got word to me mum and I've been sendin' her coin every week. Things are lookin' up fer her it seems." Oleg echoes their sentiment, saying that both of them have done a very good job regardless of how menial the task.
Oleg happily hands over Eseldra's order and promises to requisition more supplies for her as soon as he is able.
A new post has been tacked to the bulletin board:
FANGBERRIES:
Oleg happily allows Berenkor to provide the inspiration, and before the night is through, the Chartered Six manages to polish off an entire keg of mossbrew the Oleg had fermenting for the last three months buried out back. Between Eseldra's pipes, Berenkor's tales and songs, and the rest of the Chartered Six carousing, the evening passes in a fuzzy blur of friends, food, and inebriation.
'Lana hangs on every word especially, gasping and burying her head in Oleg's shoulder during the suspensful portions of the tale, cheering when the group triumphs, and laughing at Berenkor's inspired impersonation of "Mikmek the Brave." Even Kesten shares a rare smile. Several hunters and trappers float in and out during the evening, telling their own stories and listening to those of the party. One hunter in particular shares a wealth of information with the group about some of the areas surrounding Oleg's. The group will have a +2 to the primary roller's Survival check to explore hexes A2, B2, and C2.
The following morning dawns unseasonably cold, with frost making the wood of the trading post creak and moan. A glaring sun promises to burn off most of the spring chill, but for the time being, the Chartered Six wish they could remain near a roaring hearth. The pull of exploring the unknown tugs at them...
The Greenbelt still awaits.
Where to, fellas? Feel free to finish up any business at Oleg's, I'm just trying to move the narrative along.

Berenkor Trandoran |

*Is currently still too drunk to respond, having tried to tell all the many mighty deeds of Cayden Cailean in a single sitting, an ale between each tale.*
Let's explore the hexes closest to Oleg's first, I think we should do a whole row and then move down to the next one. So basically do all of A.

Harther Medvyed |

Sorry for the long silence - been finishing up characters for the new CotCT and CoT PbPs.
Harther spends the evening enjoying the festivities. The ranger spends some time speaking with Jhod Kavken, enquiring as to whether the priest had heard any word regarding the disappearance of Harther's father.
Harther also speaks to Oleg, asking the trader to order a suit of masterwork studded leather armor (assume the cost is 175 gp + 5%, or 184 gp).
The brisk chill of the next morning chases the fog of the previous night's revelry from Harther's thoughts. The ranger quickly saddles the companions' mounts in preparation of the new day's exploration.
Yes, let's head to hex C2. Adventure awaits! BTW, is this the morning of the 14th?
Survival Check (Aid Another): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Let's not forget that Rani will get a +2 to Survival checks in hexes A2, B2, and C2. Also, the broken Wayfinder gives another +1 circumstance bonus to Survival checks in exploring hexes.

Karthas |

Hmmm....I think Harther has a good idea, I think Karthas will commission a set of masterwork studded leather too. I'll trade 1 AC for no armor check penalty.
And in case you all get moving before I check back in:
Perception:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Survival (Aid Rani):1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Karthas is oddly perceptive while getting lost...

DM Sully |

Several hours after the group sets off from Oleg's the sun has indeed chased away the chill of the early morning. The group enters the dense forested region and begin mapping in earnest, following old game trails and in some places blazing their own when necessary. Dappled sunlight filters between the heavy boughs, and saplings and plants have begun their push through the heavy loam.
As the Chartered Six are walking down a narrow path with exceptionally thick soil and plant matter covering the trail, Harther notices the glint of metal through the dead leaves directly in front of Eseldra. The ranger quickly calls for a halt, and examining his find discovers that it is a bear trap, armed and ready to spring.
Knowledge(nature) or Survival DC 15 -

Berenkor Trandoran |

Perhaps a nasty surprise left by bandits; why waste the time waylaying travellers when you can trap them and rob them later.
Running a game tonight guys, post my actions etc. and anything else needed for me- back in about 9 hours.

Now I want to fly over the pond and join YOUR game, too!

Karthas |

Are you going to just look out for them and avoid them?
"I would think we should disarm these traps, should we find more. There are plenty of large sticks and fallen branches around, perhaps it would be best to trigger the traps, rather than risk injury."

Harther Medvyed |

Ninja'd by Karthas!
Havrin looks for a large, thick stick and uses it to trigger the trap.
"Why would any trapper in their right mind put a trap here?" he muses, echoing Rani's thoughts.
"You know," Harther adds, "we should take this trap back to Oleg's and trade it in for more credit. I wouldn't view it as stealing, more as a public service to any other hunters or trappers who could get caught in it. Anyone careless enough to place one of these here deserves to have it taken away."
"Like Karthas said, let's all keep a sharp eye out for any more. If we find more, we'll take them to Oleg's, too."
Perception Check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

DM Sully |

The group easily triggers the trap, the metal jaws clamping shut and snapping even the stout branch near in half. It is the work of a few moments to pick up, dust off, and stow the trap with the rest of their gear, though the cast iron mechanism is quite heavy.
Throughout the rest of the first day of exploration in this new region, two more traps are found and easily triggered and gathered to return to Oleg.
Perception check DC 10 -
After an uneventful chilly night, the group presses on, eager to finish exploring the territory.
I need a Survival check from everyone, plus another Perception check, please.
