Well, I'll be kinda busy for the next couple of days as well. In about twelve hours, I'm running PFS convention slots - two of 'em, back-to-back. :D And the day after that is my 24th birthday, so my family (selfish bastards) will probably want my time.
Just a heads up for everybody: I'm going to be moving to a new place on Sunday, so the only access to the internet for a little while will be at work. My posting will be limited in that time frame.
Well I guess I should tell everyone how busy I will be the next week. I'm taking the fam down to Dallas to see the in laws. Three kids under seven on a plane, God help me. I will check in still, but less frequently.

I'm way too hard on myself, I've realized. In my local PFS circle, I feel like I have to work twice as hard as the other GMs to prove myself, because I'm the only woman. Nobody's telling me that; none of the other guys are making me feel it. I just... feel that way.
Mind you, it's disheartening when, at the con, nobody pre-registered for my tables, yet the other three (male) GMs had full ones. I only got to run games because the VL gave me his. =(

Mad? Not really. That is disheartening no matter who or what you are. That said, I don't think you should have to prove anything to anyone. I'd be happy to play in a game you run because you do a really good job of bringing your characters to life. Australia's just a little far for me to get to by driving. ;D

- No registrations for my table at my first convention.
- Run out of meds; don't have the money to get my repeat.
- Three broken acrylic nails, hurting like hell.
- Fight with the boyfriend on my birthday.
- Rolling like s#&& in all my games (meatspace and online).
- Home campaign on hiatus because someone was stealing s&!& from my mother.

- Broke.
- Wanting to just give up video games altogether because of the b#%@$@@* in the industry.

This is what's been happening over the last... four, five days? It hasn't been good at all.
Every typo is a confirmation of my stupidity. Every slip means I'm too clumsy. Every fumbled word is a personal attack on myself, an affirmation that I just shouldn't talk to anyone and I should just go lay down and wait for everything to end.
All day, all I've been able to do is drink coffee, listen to Bach, and stare at the ceiling. It wasn't until 8 pm that I was able to bring myself to start reading posts, and now I'm feeling worse than before.
And for f*~%'s sake, you guys shouldn't have to deal with this. I shouldn't be saying all this s+@$ here, treating this discussion board like my diary, or a psychiatrist's office, because every time I get like this, I feel like it'll be the last time before someone just wants to boot me from the game... but f$+$ing hell, you guys seem to care more than a lot of the people I know in the "real world", and that's downright depressing.
I'm a good listener, or so I'm told. I think many of us are. It's better to have a place, any place, to vent than nowhere at all. Perhaps just knowing that we're here and willing to listen will help.

If I tease or make a joke, I'm not trying to be malicious, it's just that my family and my coworkers like to joke around and poke fun and as we're fond of saying, if I didn't like you, I wouldn't tease you. (Yes we are all a little crazy ourselves.)
As for the crap that you've gone through this weekend, well, I can't relate to all of it, but I can certainly emphasize with all of it, especially the broke thing. I don't really have any advice to offer, other than focus on the good stuff that's going on. For example, you're in four games run by an awesome GM and have good taste in music. :D
Anyway, if this was becoming an issue, I would have brought this up in a PM, and part of the reason for this thread is to just talk things out.
As for booting people, I have the final say and trust me, you aren't anywhere near the point of me doing that.
Also, to let you know, Noro still loves ya...
I absolutely feel those ways myself as well, Ronnie. The divorce has hit me exceptionally hard and has taken every ounce of my confidence away. It may not be the perfect place to share what's going on, but sometimes it's the only option. I'm cool with you sharing and you're more than welcome to vent to me anytime.
I may occasionally poke fun when it's a really amusing typo, but only if you're already laughing about it. But I'm also prone to typing on a smart phone, so....^_^; I know all about bad typos. Like how just now it tried to say bad tutus.
And if I ever move to Australia, I'm making a trip to join in a game!
And as for the ‘internet therapy group’? Pfft, hearing out a friend who’s hit a rough patch ain’t no thing.
As a standard of comparison? I spend a lot of time over on SpaceBattles.com. One of their (now-former) Moderators is a retired Marine, with multiple combat tours under her belt, who’s dealing with being transgendered and trying to get psych clearance for the transition operation. To my knowledge, SpaceBattlers as a whole — a population sub-set with more than their fair share of Internet Personality Disorders in their own right — have been nothing but positive and supportive of Athene; it’s the damned shrink who keeps busting her chops and telling her that her ‘Internet friends’ are trying to lead her astray. When the forum administrati announced that she was stepping down as a Mod, there was nothing but dismay and respect from SB; when she came on-line a few hours later and revealed that she had, in fact, been summarily fired, and behind her back to boot, SpaceBattles simply went a++!%&$. Witness the train-wreck here.
If a band of raving nutcases like that can be rocks of support to someone in a rough place whom they’ve never met in meat-space, we mildly disturbed Paizonians can do no less. Hang in there, Ronnie; we’ll be here for you.

I think it's humorous all in all how Ping seems the most sensible sometimes and then others...not so much at all.
I'm definitely interested to see how the difference between Olivius and Thirzin goes. Thirzin knows his short legs don't do him any good in that situation, so he's going to try and keep them from getting bottle necked.

Don't laugh, but I've been feeling better since I had dinner with missionaries last night. My mother was baptised in the Mormon faith, and she's started going to temple again in the last few months. She invited the three missionaries over for dinner last night. It was about ten minutes of theology lesson, five total minutes of prayer, and three hours of chitchat about interests, music, how their missions are going, where they're from, what it was like going to art school, how long my partner and I have been together...
I'm actually fond of Mormon missionaries. They don't get pushy or anything - in my experience, I just tell them I'm not really a religious or spiritual person, and they accept it. Jehovah's Witnesses tend to be pushy, from what I've noticed, but Mormons are pretty chill. And they're always so sweet and polite...
See, what we need to do is find my sister a nice Mormon boy. Maybe then she'll get away from the weasel.

Ronnie I am glad you are doing a bit better. Noro is still angry, but she isn't gonna punch you. And at least you helped her come to some realizations about herself.
Unfortunately, she doesn't have the INT for being a Witch, Wizard, Alchemist, or Magus (though a foot tall magus would be pretty funny to see.) She could go Druid, but she'd cap out at 2nd level spells. Summoner is definitely an option, as is anything that casts from CHA.
But there's a part of me that finds the Brawler and cavalier ideas really entertaining, heck, she could probably go ranger and plink enemies with a bow, even. I'm not sure where to go with this, and that's why I'm asking.

I disagree pretty strongly with Mormon theology on several points, but all the Mormons I've known and been friends with we're wonderfully nice people. I'm glad you had a good time. Missionaries do tend to be chill. I actually had some sic'ed on me by an older Mormon friend of mine. They were pretty persistent until I walked them through the first few chapters of their own book.
Anyway, that's a soapbox for a different venue.

That could work, but I'm worried about stepping on Horatio's or Pavana's toes if I go that route. Ping is going to be more of a blaster caster than anything esle.
Speaking of routes, what kinds of roles do you guys see your characters filling. I think I can find a niche for Sprig if I know that. If you cast spells, what kinds of spells do you plan on picking up.
I plan to threaten everything in 15 feet come level 5. I'm not certain on all of my build, but I plan to be the curtain that casters hang out behind while also providing reach weapon assistance to the front line where possible. Feats include bodyguard, most of the shield feats, lunge. I will be the wall of pain that our foes dare not walk through. :)
Between you, Noro, and Thrizin, we've already got that. ;)

As far as my role goes, I was really aiming to be a jack-of-all-trades wizard with a varied spell list and a wide arrangement of scrolls for all of the niche stuff. If Ping sticks around and focuses on blowing things up, that will let me get even more weird with spells.
Yes, but I want them to be free to not have to worry about that. I want them (especially Noro) to smash without reservation. :)

Speaking of Noro, every since Ed linked to that "One girl wrecking crew" soundbite, I can't stop picturing her as a Genki Girl with brawn.
I can see Thirzin becoming a two handed fighting type, going for maximizing the use of his weapon of choice and taking the dwarf line of combat feats (the goblin, orc, giant ones). Not sure what else I see him doing, except maximizing his damage.
One of them complained that it felt like his sinuses were full of skittles.

The Rogue idea is growing on me, but I really like the idea of Sprig being an illusionist. Just waiting on our pair of Spoonies and Asuriel on what their spell casting plans are.
Pavanna’s one level of Cleric is just a quick dip, mainly for extra healing-power but also planning ahead for other goodies. She’ll be staying with the Bard thing until she qualifies for the Evangelist PrC, then max that out (if she lives that long) and try to play like a quasi-paladin with the whole ‘Wrath of Iomedae’ feature. Planning beyond that seems a little premature.
In mechanical terms, she’s likely to stay with the ‘support fighter’/heal-bot/scout-rogue thing, maybe with a sideline in buffs, perhaps summons and crafting too. Hopefully, she’ll get access to the gear I had in mind for her (mithral chainmail done up like an inheritor’s breastplate, her sword enchanted as inheritor’s light, etc.)
FWIW, Ed, the intention was that next round, with a team-mate down, Pavanna would flatten against the wall to let Noro, Asuriel, and Saroune go past and clobber the bad guys, then go to work on healing Ping. Unfortunately, my laptop decided to overheat before I could post that, and now you’ve ninja’d the idea. :-S
Horatio will be staying heavily focused on performance, since Pavanna's archetype swaps out that feature. He'll be taking masterpieces, whether they be in place of spells or feats, and his spell selection is likely to be built around supplementing his performance, with a smattering of enchantments and possibly illusions. He'd be taking your classic buffs, and since he has exactly one halfway-decent stat, he'll be milking that charisma for all it's worth. Thank ye gods for versatile performance, since it lands him as a good skill monkey.
I haven't fully mapped out Asuriel's plan yet, I'm taking it one level at a time for now. I'm planning to stick with at least another level or two in Oracle I believe. I'm toying with the concept of switching up to a prestige class down the road. Unsure yet though!

Asuriel wasn't planning on waiting that long. She would assume that she would do the healing and Pavanna would be leading the battle charge!
Barbarian all the way for Noro. I looked at Brawler but there is a little to much overlap. maybe fighter but that would be just for the feats.
Also sorry but Noro get into a battle mode and just does her own thing. sometimes its good and sometimes its bad.
