One of my coworkers is going through a similar situation with her oldest son who has drug problems. She's kicked him out and there's all sorts of mess going on there, so much so that I've lost track of what's going on.
I'm not going to pretend that I know what you're going through, but I hope that you know that you are not alone. If you need to talk, just PM me. You care for your sister, that much is obvious in how just feeling numb worries you, but sometimes that's all you can feel because otherwise you'd go mad.
As for your sister, and I mean no offense when I say this, if she tried to off herself, then she is a bloody idiot. I know what it's like to have a family member commit suicide, my dad did it when I was five, and I am still dealing with the aftermath of that. It hurts and you always wonder why they did it. I've been told he was sick, and to be honest, I have thought that things would have been better for my mother if I'd never existed, but suicide was never something I seriously entertained. I know how much it hurts, and your sister is an idiot if she thinks that will make things better. It won't and you can't take it back.

Adam, I don't think it was her trying to off herself. I checked the lethal dosage for paracetamol poisoning, out of curiosity; she would have had to take over twice as many as she did for it to be a potentially fatal dose. Though it does put her at low risk of liver damage, which means she's a gorram idiot. I'm lucky enough to have never been in the same situation as you, and I can't even begin to imagine how awful it must be.

@Trace: Ronnie would have bruised ribs right now if that were possible. I'm a hugger by nature, and I like Ronnie. I don't like seeing people feeling bad, so my first inclination is to try and cheer them up or help them talk it out.

I think I actually teared up a little as I was writing that because I had all the images in my head and GAH. That's terrible, isn't it? I know it's terrible.
Yeah...Thirzin has a dark past and has a severe hatred of a certain species that even surpasses the racial hatred of gobs. He genuinely hates those that killed his parents and if you remember the scene in Fight Club with the bloodying of the blonde guy? That is how ol' Thirzin is going to break. And hopefully he has people to pull him back from the brink.

To explain it shortly, there's a pretty guy in the movie; the main character fights him, and rather than allowing a tap out...he keeps beating him till it causes scar tissue and leaves the guy permanently disfigured.
When asked what happened, where he "went"...his response becomes "I just wanted to destroy something beautiful."
And that's the big plan of what will happen when ol' Thirzin goes off. He'll leave a pile out of whatever he loses his shit over.

I'm not sure what Spoony's breakdown will look like. Won't be pretty, though. What happened today was a minor spell. I'm liking these flashbacks as a narrative device. Helps me explore his mind more.
I think the flashbacks are great for all of the characters who are having them, to be honest. I think Thirzin is showing he is cracked in a few ways, and he's been showing the group that he trusts them enough.
I'm hoping the ol' boy makes it through the folks that killed his father.
I'm liking Thirzin's development. I enjoy your characters in both the games we're in together; you play the best dwarves I've seen. =) In case you hadn't noticed, I'm a huge fan of character development. (Well, you may not have noticed in S&S... Aramis doesn't have much room to grow, really.)
On a side note, I'm having a surprisingly good day. I've picked up the textbooks for my course, I'm housesitting for dad, and I currently have a cup of coffee, Pathfinder books open on the iPad, Morrowind on one computer screen, Photoshop sketching on the other, and a heavy metal radio station streaming. With an Airedale terrier lying on the floor next to me and a cavoodle on my feet. Like, literally on them. I hope this feeling can last; it's been pretty rare lately.

I could start flash backing Olivius, but he's hiding something really hard (in my opinion) and flashbacks would spoil it. They'll start after players know what it is, even if that's before the characters do. :)

It's pronounced FROO-chocks. They're basically little balls of dried peach and apricot (well, they contain some peach and apricot) coated in milk chocolate. They're dangerously addictive. And I'm getting them stuck in my braces. Don't even care, man. Fruchocs are great stuff.
