Lirrathan
Lirrathan adjust his statement, for some of the present company, "But that's just me, some people are encouraged to wear whatever accentuates their, uh, positive features." He calls out, "Hey, if you need a hand, let me know. I could hold your rack.... of clothes to choose from." he smiles and winks playfully.
Terry the thief
"Thanks, Lirrathan! What do you think, do the blue tights or the green ones bring out my eyes better?" Terry's obviously baiting him, but he is trying to put together something. Not sure what I'll do with a set of fancy clothes right now, but it is more than I have otherwise . . ..
DM Pendin Fust
You guys indicated to CdG the remaining so I took them off the map. Well done by the way!
At this point, the game is kind of a sandbox. You have places indicated to investigate but what you want to do in Kenabres (ruined as it is) is completely up to you the group. If you want to do something way out of left field I will definitely accommodate.
Sir Bastion
Sir Bastion's immediate goals are to link up with whatever resistance is still in Kenabres, bring the civilians with us to safety, rescue survivors as we find them, and kill demons.
Arcessentes
Arc picks out rich court wizard ropes, with appropriate bling, but does not put them on now. He carefully packs them away, wondering if he will ever have a chance to use them.
I think that next we should seek out the Rift Wardens. I have a link to them in that my parents were members, though I do not know if the current members will value that. I understand that they may be held up in the library, which is close.
Lirrathan
Lirrathan shrugs, "I got no immediate plans. I'm just here to help you all get to safety, enjoying a couple demon killings on the way. This whole trip turned out to be more exciting that I ever imagined."
In response to Terry, he takes the bait an plays along, "You know Terry, there's just some things that even tights can't accentuate enough to make a difference. But if I were you, I'd go green, the lighter color will help the shadows play tricks on the eyes of any onlookers you might get. You'll need it." He smiles, enjoying the back and forth.
DM Pendin Fust
I'll give until around noontime PST (or GMT-8) for anyone else to chime in otherwise I will assume Blackwing Library is the next destination :)
Mirel
"Thanks Lirrathan! No peeking!" she tosses him a comically large pile of clothes to hold as she moves into the dressing room. "Ok, toss the first one over!" she calls out, laughing at the banter between him and Terry.
"As for our plan, I agree that seeking out the Riftwardens would be a good idea. They could better take care of our blind friend while we help out in Kenabres."
DM Pendin Fust
Making your way towards Blackwing you travel for another 10 minutes. You see a block of buildings seemingly untouched by the devastation so rampant in the city. Your hearts sink, though, as your gaze settles on the building that once was the great librarium. Unfortunately, Blackwing now lies in ruins—all that remains standing is the Librarium’s facade and its reinforced great hall. A short gasp from both Horgus and Anevia give Aravashnial a clue as to the upcoming revelation, "What is it? Have we arrived at Blackwing?"
From inside the library you hear some scuffling noises and a few muffled thumps. A brash voice says "Stack them damned books better!" Aravashnial says in a worried voice "What is happening in there? Who is talking?!"
Map updated!
Sir Bastion
Sir Bastion looks to the wall of the building, looking for a means to look inside.
DM Pendin Fust
So are you all going to open the door...scout around...etc? Not sure which way you want to progress.
Arcessentes
I did not know there was a door. If there is a door between us and the voices in the ruins then yes.
Still protect by his mage armor Arcessentes leads the way to a door he has just noticed and opens it while calling softly We seek the Rift Wardens. Have we found them? If he is walking in on some threat he will use his teleportation ability to move out of immediate line of sight.
Sir Bastion
Sir Bastion will follow Arcessentes after he has opened the door.
Looking around to see if there is any trouble with 30' of him.
Terry the thief
Keeping his bow ready, Terry will scoot around the side of the facade, trying to get a different perspective on whatever it is that Arcessentes' is trying to meet, while trying to avoid notice as best he can.
Stealth w/ Armor: 1d20 + 8 - 1 ⇒ (8) + 8 - 1 = 15
DM Pendin Fust
Sorry, I thought I had indicated a door but yes there is one. I had it on the map but forgot to actually mention it...sorry!
Inside, your eyes are met with a suspiciously bad sight and a sinking feeling in your stomachs. There are four people bound and gagged, crying, in the center of the room. Another woman, crying profusely, is being ordered about by a bloodstained man in armor holding a mace. His armor has the lookings of a paladin, or at least a Crusader, but it is obvious he is ordering her to pile books around the bound and gagged people.
As the door opens and Arcessentes' question drifts through air, the man looks up and grips his mace. "Riftwardens eh? Yer lookin' at just about the last of the lot...and soon they'll be burnin' up with their books! That'll get me the attention of a powerful demon."
Aravashnial gasps at this exclamation and sinks to his knees.
Arcessentes
The wizard would now like to initiate combat. :)
That statement has just got you the attention of a wizard. Arc casts a spell and 5' steps
Magic Missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Lirrathan
Lirrathan actually smiles at the turn of events, "Alright Arc, picking a fight. That's what I like to hear." The elf grips his two blades with eagerness, ready to go for the obvious enemy.
DM Pendin Fust
Arc's missile slams into the man, who rocks back a half-step then growls.
Stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Chaleb Init: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19
Arc Init: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28

Lirrathan Init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Mirel Init: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29

Mirel, Arc, Chaleb, Aravashnial, Jokum, Anevia, ???, Lirrathan, Terry, Bastion.
Start from the top, Surprise round is over.
Arcessentes
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Could I get a brief description of the people bound and gagged? Are any armored. Arc is standing by one and my choose to use his action to cut him free.
DM Pendin Fust
They are definitely not battle ready folk. Two women and two men, they look like they keep the books in this library. No combat gear to speak of although they all carry a pouch about their hip that is very familiar...
Mirel
With a Perception of +8, Mirel can't fail to spot the other figures, are they wearing armour?
Mirel draws her whip If all opponents are wearing armor, change that to dagger, and looks at the crusader Chaleb?.
"You have also invoked the wrath of an inquisitor that follows the Savored Sting, a very unwise choice."
Mirel points at the ex-crusader, invoking her divine wrath upon him. Using divine retribution inquisition power.
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 Reflex save for half although I am not sure what the DC is for that...
DM Pendin Fust
They are wearing leather armor.
Typically these types of DC's are 10 + level + ability score modifier. So in this case (since I can't find any documentation about the actual DC) I will rule it as 10 + 2 + 3 for Wisdom (since that's what's used to calculate number of times per day). So a DC 15 Reflex save.
Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Of course...waste a 20 on that :)
Some books from the bookshelf the ex-crusader Chaleb is leaning on fall onto his head, the corner of one catching on him and leaving a stinging gash.
Arc you are up again...Everyone feel free to post and I will adjudicate.
Sir Bastion
Hearing the dialogue through the broken walls, Sir Bastion moves into the library and then seeing the holy symbol of Iomedae on the shield, continues towards the crusader.
"Brother, this is not way of the Redeemer. Repent now and seek her forgiveness before it is too late for you. The destruction that has fallen on this city does not also need to fall upon your heart." pleads Sir Bastion.
Turning to the woman, he continues "Sister, release your brothers and stand aside."

On Going Effects:
Lirrathan
Perception 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17 (He can see them without a roll, but since every 10' increases the DC by 1, this is to see how far away he sees them.)
Lirrathan takes in all the possible allies and enemies, and spots a few extra not obvious ones. "Watch out for the extra company on top of each of the furthest bookshelves."
Seeing as all the enemies go before me, would you mind if I took my turn after I see what they do on theirs?
Arcessentes
Hearing the Paladin's word's, The wizard pulls a knife and begins to cut the ropes of the captives.
What knowledge roll is needed to identify the things on the bookshelves?
DM Pendin Fust
As Arc starts to cut away the ropes a full-round action will free them the armored man rubs his head and growls. He points at Bastion and says, "Fine then, you'll feel my wrath!" Challenge on Bastion. +4 and +2 to damage, Order of the Cockatrice. He runs at Bastion and swings a nasty looking mace.
Charge and Heavy Mace: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 12 + 2 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 5 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 5 + 4 + 2 = 14
Aravashnial begins to mutter to himself. "Elf with the sword Radiance. Hold still and touch my hand." he says to Lirrathan. "Your next strike will hit no matter what. Kill him. Painfully."
Casts true strike on Lirrathan.
Anevia nocks an arrow, takes aim, and releases. Faster than you would be believe possible, she draws another and fires in the space of a few heartbeats.
Rapid Shot 1: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 5 - 2 = 5
Rapid Shot 2: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 5 - 2 = 20
Rapid Shot 2 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
She manages to sink the second shot into his shoulder.
Two lanky, small-horned men jump down from the bookshelves they were on and start to stalk towards Bastion.
Lirrathan
Lirrathan just shrugs at the surety of the elf, before realizing the man can't see him. "Okay Blinky, I'll take your word for it, but right now I gotta keep Arc outta trouble." With that he moves up to the one closest to Arc and attacks. He feels his swing go way off mark, before being mysteriously pulled right into the enemy. Sadly, the pull took a lot of his own power out of the hit.
Nature 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Attack Tiefling on the right 1d20 + 5 + 20 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 20 = 30, damage 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4. Yuk
Just realized why the sword doesn't give me bonuses in herolabs, it specifically says 'in the hands of a paladin' it is +1 cold iron. Otherwise, I think it's just a normal longsword, not even a +1.
Sir Bastion
Have a couple of questions.
I don't think the cavalier should have an additional +4 damage. I know that order gets a +4 to charges when mounted, but challenge damage should be only +2.
Also are the bookshelves not obstacles? Not sure how the cavalier could have charged me around a corner if they are obstacles.
And last question, where can I get my hands on a version of True Strike that is not a personal spell.
DM Pendin Fust
Lirrathan, Yeah it is intended for Paladins but I'm ruling that it is a +1 cold iron longsword for anyone. Some of the later powers it gets with Mythic levels won't be the same and won't be fully unlocked without a paladin.
The cavalier gets +4 as part of his challenge. He also gets +2 for the Order of the Cockatrice on his challenge.
The bookshelves are NOT obstacles. You can occupy a square that a bookshelf stands in. Part of the problem with using the maps like this...
Aravashnial was right next to Lirrathan, hence the "touch my hand" stuff. As far as I know there no non-personal range. I've used it that way with an Alchemist creating an extract of true strike and giving it to an ally.
Sir Bastion
Forgot the base cavalier challenge damage... sorry, the 14 damage spooked me.
Alchemist can give personal spell as extracts if they have the infusion discovery. That is why you can't buy potions of true strike. But I am ok with it either way, now that I know how you are running personal spells. It will definitely open up options on my use of Divine Favor.
DM Pendin Fust
Oh I see what you mean. Yes, I allow personal spells to be cast as touch. It never really made sense to me that most of the personal spells couldn't be given to an ally.
DM Pendin Fust
Most of those types of spells are typed bonuses that won't stack with armor/shields...but I get your point. I am going to take a hard look at the way I have always run things and compile a house rules document. For everyone's benefit.
Mirel
My apologies, I have been incredibly sick the last couple of days...
Mirel moves in and to the left, attacking one of the skulking tieflings.
Dagger: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
DM Pendin Fust
No worries Mirel. Terry, Jokum, and Bastion all need an action for R1. Everyone else post R2 actions.
I'll have an update in a bit, monday morning code bugs to squash.
Sir Bastion
Jokum will move forward and attempt to bite the knight.
Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Bite Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Almost stunned by the blow from the knight, Sir Bastion staggers back a step and with a quick prayer to his goddess, staunches his wounds.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Bolstered by his goddess he returns the challenge, "Fallen One, my sword will remove you from this world and send you to the abyssal masters that you seek."

Terry takes a potshot at the crusader which skips off of a band of mail.
Shortbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Jokum's bite finds no purchase on the man even as his master falls back to recuperate.
Mirel, Arc, Chaleb, Aravashnial, Jokum, Anevia, ???, Lirrathan, Terry, Bastion.
Arcessentes
Very Strange. I posted but now my post seems to be missing.
The wizard spends his move action completing the full round action of cutting the bonds of the prisoners and his standard action helping them withdraw.
DM Pendin Fust
I've been having my posts getting eaten a lot lately. :/
The frightened folk that Arc frees starts to rush towards the door, but stop and almost as a one split into two groups and head towards the tieflings. They mutter something and wave a hand around, when a short burst of intense heat erupts from each of their hands.

While both seem to dance around the worst, the tiefling towards the right takes one burning spell hard to the face and both end up falling to their knees and slumping to the ground.
