Got the second character backstory done

Got the third one done.

I'll post them in the morning.

At last! I didn't want to say anything until I actually got it done, but I've been working on this character for a couple of days now. Actually, not completely done; but a background, description, and most of the crunch. Since the first two are the most important to you, here they are!

What crunch is done is in my profile. The rest will be finished later, and I'll probably change the avatar too. However, at GMT-8 I'm not sure how much longer I can stay awake, and I really want to get this in. 8)

Background:
Tudan's parents were fairly stereotypical halflings for the region, moving every few years, but pretty much sticking to Brevoy and a few preferred River Kingdoms. (That was odd because Tudan was an aasimar, a human with rather obvious celestial lineage.) Haydon and Lassira Davken would set up shop in a thriving working-class neighborhood, serving good ale and hearty meat pies until the itch for a change of scenery became too strong to resist, then pack it all up and do it all over again somewhere else. Unfortunately, they were never able to conceive, so they started looking to adopt; but there was fierce competition for halfling and gnome orphans, due to the natural assumption that it would be too hard for them to manage a child from a larger race.

Eventually, they heard of an infant both blessed and cursed by the gods, so that none were willing to take on the challenge and risk... not even his own mother. With metallic hair indicating divine heritage, and yet legs incurably twisted so that he would never walk right, it was obvious that his guardians would be under greater-than-normal scrutiny from beyond. The Davkens rose to that challenge with optimism and a sense of humor, joking to their friends that at least he wouldn't be able to outrun them.

As he grew, Tudan learned in the taverns how to put people at ease with good humor: "Nothing's wrong with my legs, I'm just going two ways at once!" In the villages, he learned how to join in community defense with clubs and spears: "Hold the handle, and either bash 'em with the heavy end or stick 'em with the pointy end. Got it." At home, his parents taught him the finer points of slingcraft on purpose, and how to be unobtrusively helpful by unconscious example. But as happy as he was, there was no escaping his difference.

Although his parents were homebodies and loved their creature comforts, Tudan spent more and more time out of doors over the years, feeling more at home in the woods than in a house. Learning by exploring, experimentation, and the fearless questions of the young, Tudan was already adept at wilderness survival by the time his other-planar heritage manifested an instinctive talent for healing magic and the like. At the age of 21, he was young for a halfling to be striking off on his own, but old for a human to still be at home -- and who knew what was normal for a celestial?

Fortunately, Haydon and Lassira understood that love wasn't enough to keep him from exploring his nature and finding where he fit. Saying goodbye with teary-eyed hugs, they gifted him with a horse that he prosaically named Horse. Tudan and Horse lived off the land, traveling by whim until hearing about Brevoy's call for adventurers to tame the Stolen Lands. He wasn't sure if it was right for him, but he knew that he'd be good at it, and there wasn't any better way to find out if it was something he'd like than by trying. So, he and Horse went and he made the best case that he could that he should be part of it.

Description:
Standing 6' tall and weighing in at 160 lbs., Tudan is proportioned like a half-elf. However, his features are mostly Taldan -- bronze skin with expressive green eyes -- except for his metallic golden hair, almost as bad as a halo for announcing his race.

Friendly yet reserved, confident yet unassuming, this aasimar is a study in contrasts. Dressed like an explorer, armed like village militia, and as helpful as a halfling, he walks on twisted legs with a strange gait that never goes fast and never slows down.

Horse is a horse.

I'm sorry but I'm having trouble getting time to write here this couple of days, but I want to assure you all I'm paying attention to your submissions and will get back to you as soon as I can. And remember, there's just six hours left, after that I won't be taking any more candidates.

No problems DM_Keddah, will resume waiting with bated breath ;)

Etna then learned Sorcery from her mother. Etna did play in the woods and built a slighty stronger body than a normal sorceress. When she turned 20, her mother told her to go out and see the rest of the world. A few days later, Etna said goodbye to the only family she knew, and wandered the land.

Then one day she found a baby in the woods, it was a beautiful half-elf girl. She went to a nearby Village, but all the families had there hand full. So she took it upon herself to raise the child and gave her the name Etna Venus Van Ash. Select which one you want and it'll be compiled in an hour, complete.

Don't know if you have converted it for yourself to accomidate 6 people with a 15 point build, but here's a link to conversions for all 6 chapters: six player kingmaker conversion chapters

Azure Zero:
I'd go with the Half-Elf Sorcerer Etna. There's no hurry, I'm accepting changes to submissions already made, even if those changes come after the deadline

Lol, we both need to read the topic fully Aron...

I'd like to submit this alias for the campaign. The background was created for another campaign, but it can be altered easily enough. Eventual path will be Wizard/Druid Mystic Theuge focusing on Item Creation. I promise to not make anything that would disrupt balance.

I switched to that avatar before refreshing the page and seeing yours, I swear!! Just seemed to fit the character.

DM_Keddah, Your thoughts:

I am plan on using the racial given skill focus feat to get the Eldritch Heritage feats (just 2 or 3).

I was planning on taking Abyssal and using the Strength of the abyss to reflect a stronger line of of Dragon, the Kaiser Dragon. But I have to take the Abyssal bloodline's Claws power which is identical to the Dragon bloodline's claws power, how would you handle it?.
Replace it with the first power of; Infernal, Boreal (change element to fire), or Rakshasa , maybe?
I also think Abyssal bloodline should of had a different class skill like; bluff, diplomacy, or disguise, not knowledge(planes).

I am filling in the skills, based on backstory and personality.
Skills taken Acrobatics(background), Appraise(persona, greed), Bluff(persona), and perception(persona)

and taking "Pass for human" to reflect her appearance and looks.

Discovered Interesting Data, this is good for minor details.

I'll put it to use.

Etna is ready

I'm only attending the ball because a nobleman, named Sir Humperdinck. A regular costumer at "The Drunken Dragon." Asked me to be his escort to the ball and that in return he would make sure I got a better paying job and some better status.

I do know some of his dirty secrets. So if he did backtrack on his word which he almost never did, at least according to rumour. I could make sure he kept up his end of the deal and with some added interest added if he did.

The reason for asking me to be the escort was because his wife was away at their summer home, taking a vacation from the politics. He wanted to make sure he was not alone at the ball and to pose as his wife, since i look like her. He said I could borrow one of his wife's dresses for the ball.

Okay, I think that my profile is finally completely done after umpteen revisions, so I'm going to go do something else now.

Pathfinder Lost Omens, Rulebook Subscriber

Is this game still recruiting perhaps?

That's alright. It is a nice avatar.

@DM_Keddah My Lord Mayor! I am Alexei Robertovich Sadron-Kuznets here on behalf of the Kuznets family. I see your wearing one of my mother's rings! It goes so well with your complexion. I've heard rumors about an expedition to the stolen lands? Of course. I understand. However, if such a thing were to happen a new city, or perhaps even more, will need magic items. Spell slinging hooligans are well enough if you just need to kill something, but people need more than this. A land needs someone who understands the concerns of merchants and farmers. It needs someone who understands the profitability of trade. It needs someone who is willing to use their skills to build civilization. It needs, My Lord Mayor, a Kuznets.

Magic is the the essence of life. Magic creates and destroys, transforms and restores. Any student can list the different forms of Arcane magic: Studious wizardry, innate sorcery, mysterious witchcraft, spontaneous bardic song, unstable alchemical formulas, bonded summoners, and the focused incantations of the magi. Young acolytes know the different ways in which the gods bestow power on mortals: Devoted clerics, wild druids, chosen oracles, chivalrous paladins, cunning rangers, and zealous inquisitors.

And yet, what is the difference between these two basic divisions of magic. What of the spells which seem identical but for their source? I contend that it is not just a seeming, that the magic itself is ultimately no different at all. I propose that all magic ultimately stems from a single source and that from a close study of divine magic we can gain greater insight into the primal energy that makes up all of creation. On a more practical note, it should also enhance the efficiency of arcane spell formulas.
~Taken from the senior thesis of Sadron Kuznets

"Sadron... he's a nice enough guy. Just an average student from gods know where." Averagely normal, or perhaps normally average is how most would describe Sadron. Several years ago a young man stepped onto the docks of the City at the Center of the World and promptly vanished. Not with the dramatic flourish of an illusionist, but in the way that most people do when surrounded by a lot of other people. He came to learn how bind the essence of a spell into a physical object, and did. grumbling about tuition costs, cursing during exams, commiserating in the libraries, and finally celebrating graduation with his friends and family.

Not long after, during that blissful time when it seems that there will never be another test, a sending arrived. It is one of the reasons why people are careful about making promises with wizards. A man can run easily enough, it is another thing altogether to run from someone whose messages intrude upon a man's thoughts in his own bed. Alas, it is hard to avoid promises when the wizards are your parents.

A charter is being written and the Stolen Lands claimed. Honor the names you bear. Make safe civilization. Something watches.

I hope the ones that get in enjoy the game and the others find a game to adventure! Thanks everybody for your interest!

DM Keddah, I may be slow to answer questions this afternoon as I will be running a tabletop Dresden Files game then.

Lysa Arianna:
I think your character is already quite well defined so don't worry. And enjoy your game!

Magnus Wolfgang:
The backstory is great, I'm interested on your take of why a Paladin of Ragathiel is interested in this quest to the Stolen Lands. Does he feel bringing civilization to these lands is the right thing to do? Or is ther something more?

Alexei Robertovich Sadron-Kuzne:
Interesting characte, where is the Arcanarium Crafter from? I'll have a look ati it and get back to you. Thanks for the interest!

Tudan Dakven:
The idea of an Human Aasimar raised by halflings is really refreshing! I like it, also, being an Oracle of Life is a plus for your character since there aren't many buff-healing oriented candidates. Does he wonder who his real parents are? Or he considers the Dakvens to be his real parents and his biological parents to be just a footnote in his life? Thanks for the interest

DM Keddah:
I believe Ragathiel would want the land settled so that it could be made in his virtues. Justice and Honor held in the highest regard. He would want it as a bastion of light for people could come to the kingdom and be safe. Also the thought of bandits in the land would want Ragthiel angry because they are oppressing innocents. Thus revenge

You missed Khaod i think

Grayson has managed to get himself into the ball somehow, with a combination of dropping his mother's name (which nearly hurt his chances as much as helped), a few end-run-arounds, and finally some good old fashioned bribery. He is a new arrival in town (barely had time to freshen up at his inn before getting down to work securing entrance to the party) and feels this ball is the best way to make contact with his mother's family and claim his rightful place among the local nobility. I'd imagine more than one noble of House Lebeda would be glad to see him off on a charter to get himself killed by bandits.

DM_Keddah:
I thought about that last night. He's the kind of guy who's such a good, non-judgmental listener that people just open up and tell him all kinds of things about what's troubling them. Although young, he's heard plenty of stories from other adoptees about how looking up a bio parent didn't work out quite as well as they'd hoped. Maybe she's a loser, maybe he's a jerk, maybe they suddenly want a relationship with the kid they gave up at the exact same moment that her curiosity is satisfied and she wants nothing more to do with them. So, he's decided to be abstractly grateful to them for giving him life, and leave it at that.

Of course, his legs and hair are enough that his mom could still recognize him, despite not having seen him since infancy, and who knows what powers his celestial dad? ancestor? relatives? might have for keeping track of him. Still some room for plot hooks, but I see Tudan as a happy, well-adjusted, and non-angsty character, looking to the future not the past, exploring his nature and potential in a perfectly normal and healthy way for a young man. We'll see how that holds up under the stress of violence and responsibility -- I don't know yet, he's unblooded and the only one dependent on him is Horse -- but that's where he's starting from.

I'm not Alexei, but I can answer that question: Arcanamirium Crafter is from the Inner Sea Primer, p. 28. I have to admit, I only know because he made me curious too, and so I looked last night until I found it. ;)

Quite right. [quote=] Metacharge (Ex)

As an Arcanamirium crafter, you gain a bonus feat at 3rd level, which must be an item creation feat or metamagic feat. You must still meet all prerequisites for a bonus feat, including caster level minimums. When using metamagic feats to create magic items, your skill and understanding of the principles involved in the item’s creation give you a +2 bonus on the skill check made to create the item.

The data is also on the d20pfsrd website.

DM_Keddah:
The stuff from my last entry is the reason for being at the ball. I realized I may have thrown that out there without a lot of explanation. I'm replacing Druid with a Cleric of Abadar. For traits I was thinking to add Eldritch Smith and replace Medvyed with Garess for the Noble Born. Or Rick Parents and Lebeda. These fits better with the background, and will give the party a nice Treasurer or Magister. What do you think?

Tudan Davken:
I figured I'd the finish the stats when a party decision had been reached, though I'm seriously looking at Rick Parents or Eldritch Smith

Well, after much thinking and consulting with a couple of my IRL players (who know my style and the characters that fit me even better than I do) I've made a selection.

Let me say that I'm really sorry to leave so many great characters without a home, and I'm sure they'll find a game to belong soon. Thanks once more for your interest. There are several characters I have decide to let out because their players have a different character in my other game that I'm thinking (as of right now) will get in.

And now the list:

The Party:

Edmond Odravam
Lysa Arianna
Tudan Dakven
Brennor Stylovich
Hathin De'Lark
Geoffrey Whittaker

Come over here

Let me once more apologize, I really feel sorry to let some characters out but I think this party is the more fitted for me and the campaign.

Good luck in your search for adventure!

Boomer's Bar and Grill. A place for your characters to hang out, and a chance at a GM picking a character up, to fill a spot.

I have some spots left in my home brew game.

So Inquisitor Leet, is that Styvolich, as it says in The Man? Or Styvoich, as it says in the page? Or Stylovich, as it says in the party list? I need to know! /ocd

Thanks for the opportunity to apply, Keddah.

Congratulations to the lucky chosen.

Wish you all a great game.

Thanks for the opportunity to apply, DM_Keddah.
if you ever need a hand, just ask.

Congratulations to the lucky 6 gamers.

And I Wish you all a great game.

It was my pleasure therealatom and Azure_Zero, I really liked your concepts and even thought about trying my hand with three games at once but I think I'll have to see how I fare with two before doing anything so bold. I hope Silstaren and Etna find a place to live their adventures!

Fredrik:
We had the same question in the OOC thread, seems it's Styvolich

You could try a mini RP tavern to get a feel for the characters, their RP value and style and who meshes with who.
though it can make the decision harder at times.

The ball idea could have been a mini-RP tavern to see the best players.

And is good for weeding out the one's who say they'll post once a day but don't.

If I get a few more players for my home brew, it'll be 4 games, one hollow last hope and 3 homebrew (same world, different locations, and can here about each groups actions.)

Personally I don't like rp taverns and don't usually apply to games that require it. If I want to see how often someone normally posts, I just check out their aliases
