If there is an Aasimar we best present there better Best Half!
Presenting Shael, Tiefling Magus 1, 15 Pt buy, With Prehensile Tail (Replaces Findish Sorcery), Searin Skin (1d4 Damage to creatures that grapple her per round) Replaces 1/day darkness spell and Scaled Skin (Replaces Cold/Electricity Resistance with Fire 5 only and +1 NA)
1. What the heck is your character doing here?
Seeking power, she seeks to advance her skills and magical prowess so that she can get vengenance on those who wronged her and reclaim her noble title.
2. Profession or how does your character make a living?
Mercenary, Her daemonic appearance makes it hard to get any honest work.
3. Describe your physical appearance.
Shael's coarse black hair burns at the tips like dying ember's, constantly oozeing small amounts of greasy smoke as if her hair was truly burning. Her eyes glow in the dark but are normally a violet color in dim or brighter areas. Her skin is a dark tan and the rest of her features betray her daemonic nature as she sports hooves, a long prehensile tail, ebony scale's and ram like horns. She is unnaturally tall with an athletic build and she moves with a predator like grace when she walks. Beneath her clothes though she bares an infernal mark, a pentagram that was branded into her chest.
4. Why help out when the winter comes? Why not leave and flee? Why get involved?
Unnatural occurences mean great powers are at work, ones that she may be able to harness for herself to achieve her goals. Run away? Get real, this girl is tired of running, besides if everyone else runs that means more powerful items for her right? Besides she likes being warm, winter sucks and shes doing this for her own benefit everyone's well being. Think of the children!

Kalthel shakes his head and a sly grin appears on his face. He says, "No, No, No. That will not work at all. For the maximum effectiveness during adventuring, we need to have one of you wearing white, one red, and one black. With a multi-faceted team backing up a dynamic swordsman, there is certainly no evil that could withstand the onslaught of Heldren's Angels."
With that, Kalthel returns to the crowd and awaits the announcement.

Holy moly! I had no idea everyone was going to be an arcane caster! Well, I'm going to do the reverse of Vesna, and reshape my Orc into a divine caster - particularly into an Outer Rifts oracle. Presumably a somewhat melee-oriented build, as it'll be a struggle to keep her Charisma high enough just to be able to cast spells. Again, could also be a Half-Orc if Orc is too disruptive. Same basic idea below, which I'm re-spoilering. And I'll put together a stat block soon.
Also, once a weekday is fine. More is even better.
**Edit**
First, decided to make Phedre a half-orc. As much as I wanted to choose race based on my first die roll, the Orc was strictly worse than a half-orc in every way, which was too depressing to go with. Half-orc fits in better anyway. Also, here's the link - figure it's better than posting again once I actually finish it.
Phedre was once the favored apprentice of Mathilde, a Winter Witch of moderate standing in the North. The spoiled daughter of a minor nobleman, she was schooled in letters and etiquette, and was both smart and beautiful. She was also terribly evil. She delighted in being the best at anything she did, including witchcraft, and had no fear of using souls and blood sacrifices for her work. It was why Mathilde loved her so - because she stopped at nothing to be the very best.
But Phedre made enemies of the other apprentices, who despised her ruthless ways and endless success. And one dark night, the apprentices attacked. They hexed her with sleep and bound her, then boiled her alive, each receiving a portion of her flesh to enhance their power. When Phedre died, her soul entered the afterlife. And when the Lady of Graves gazed upon Phedre, there was no question. Phedre was damned to the Abyss, a place of evil that matched Phedre's black heart.
Meanwhile, it took a few days before Mathilde decided to investigate Phedre's disappearance. When she discovered Phedre's fate, she went into a rage. The guilty apprentices who did not manage to flee were quickly slain. Fortunately, not all of them had consumed Phedre's flesh, no doubt saving it for the right occasion. Even a bit of flesh would be enough. Mathilde used her powers to reincarnate Phedre in a new body.
But when Phedre returned, the body she returned in was one of a half-orc! Phedre could feel her mind slow, could see her former beauty lost and replaced by a hideous orc visage. Worse, the memories of her ordeal in the afterlife lingered. It was all a haze, but Phedre knew that she had been sent to the Abyss, and she knew she had endured terrible, terrible suffering.
Mathilde expected Phedre to return to her studies as her apprentice, but Phedre could not do it. Her mind had lost its sharpness, making her a poor witch. Worse, anytime she became stressed, she found she could only speak words of the Abyss. Fearful of her master's wrath, and of dying once again to be sent to the Abyss, Phedre chose to flee.
Now she finds herself living in a hut in Southern Taldan, outside the town of Heldren. The people there were surprisingly tolerant of Phedre. They were a fairly open minded people, and were not excessively threatened by her - perhaps because she was a lone female half-orc. As for Phedre, she had established a few lonely roots in her home. Phedre had found her connection to magic again. It was not through a witty and quick mind, but rather through the agony of the Abyss. The very place she hoped to escape was also the source of her power. And that power was the only reason people seemed to care for her, for they came to Phedre to benefit from her talents. Phedre was pretty sure she shouldn't stay in quiet Heldren forever, but it was hardly clear where she should go next.
Mechanically, Phedre is going to be an Orc (or Half-Orc) Oracle of the Outer Rifts with the Tongues (Abyssal) mystery, and the Failed Winter Witch Apprentice trait. She's going to be ugly and not that bright, but probably still smarter than the average Orc. In terms of personality, Phedre is still lured by power, flavored with a dash of desperation for acceptance. But she knows that she has to mend her ways if she wishes to avoid another afterlife in the Abyss.
1. What the heck is your character doing here?
Phedre wants a place where she won't be disturbed. On the other hand, she also wants to turn her life around and counterbalance her former evil deeds with good ones. Heldren offers a nice balance for these competing needs, as Phedre is maintains some connection to the world while avoiding large crowds of people who might want to arrest her, slay her, or drive her away.
2. Profession or how does your character make a living?
Phedre offers minor magics for those few townsfolk brave enough to venture to her hut.
3. Describe your physical appearance.
Phedre is a large, bulky orc, with rough, wrinkly green skin and razor sharp teeth. The only feature that stands out as unusual for orcs are her eyes, which seem to beckon to a past in which Phedre was beautiful and powerful.
4. Why help out when the winter comes? Why not leave and flee? Why get involved?
When winter comes, Phedre will know (or think she knows) what's going on. It will be an opportunity for Phedre to prove her worth to a skeptical people, and to perhaps reconnect with her past. Perhaps it will also be a source of newfound power.

@Tazo:
Hehe yeah lots of arcane but I just couldn't help not presenting a Tief Magus when there is an Aasimar Paladin. Seriously no better rivalry, love/hate relationship could exist. And she by no means has a heart of gold theme going. Not quite evil either, selfish, power hungry and uncaring maybe. But a chance that could be missed! :D
However if Archetypes are allowed I would have her become a Bladebound Kensai (Most overused pairing I know~) But it's only because I haven't done this yet...
Granted no matter what I won't make such a rivalry be a distraction. I just think it would be fun. :)

As the player who submitted the Aasimar paladin, I can assure that Exiel is not one to judge solely on the basis of appearance, though selfishness, power-hungriness and apathy may result in some dissatisfaction (especially when taken too far).
That said, my general approach when playing a paladin is to find some incentive for the less-than-good character to get with the program. If there's loot at the end of it, he'll point that out and hope that is enough to keep them focused. If there's a bigger threat to be overcome, he'll be quick point out what will happen if the party fails, and specifically how it will affect that party member.
More generally, it'd possibly play out a little like the interaction between Roy Greenhilt and Belkar Bitterleaf (if you get the reference). Player-to-player, however, it would need to be done on the understanding that ultimately, we will need to move the story forward and not hold things up unnecessarily. If we (the players) have that understanding, we'll be cool, and from your post, it looks like we'll have that. =)

You should consider the Fiend Flayer archetype for the Tiefling Magus. I have one and it's a rather interesting character. Not overpowered but not under either.

.Exiel.
I can see a few one liners, some teasing and goading going on but nothing that will slow down the game for sure. ;)
Just Teifling and Aasimar pairings have to have a little rivalry~
Looking forward to the end though and if she doesn't make it then that is fine.
Severed Ronin Good to see you again~ Ninn here~

Would also be funny if the 3 characters with names ending with 'el' got in. XD
Kalth-el. Sha-el. Ex-i-el.
If nothing else, it would make it easy to remember character names.
Exiel is not one to seek a rivalry actively. He's a paladin, and is more focused on achieving a good result rather than petty one-up-manship. That said, if he thinks he can use Shael's competitiveness to keep her fighting the right foes, he will do so. ;)
