Will Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 (fail)

Azarra |

Where's the earth-shattering kaboom? :) ... Now I'm kind of freaked out. :)

Ser Armithia-Seendren |

The Paladin spends an hour praying at dawn.

Ishta Khosiv |

Ishta wakes up, nervous, during the night. Her eyes are used to seeing in the dark, thanks to the strange heritage that took her to Phlan originally, so she quickly realises she's still in the special room with the others. Her breath sounds loud in the still of the night, and she tries to calm down so as to not wake up everyone. Wiping the sweat, she goes back to sleep with thoughts about ancient books and forgotten knowledge...

Zane Levallis |

Zane woke up with a groan, nearly vomiting as sitting up brought a wave of nausea over him. He put his hand to his head, waiting for the spinning to stop, before bowing his head and beginning his morning prayers, the routine so much a part of him that he managed it even through the bouts of dizziness. After a not-so-brief time, the cleric felt the faint pleasure of his deity, his body again becoming a conduit for the sacred power Lathander bestowed upon him.
Rising to his feet, he grasped his holy symbol and then walked over to where Delenn lay, whispering a chant over her so as not to wake any who might still be sleeping. Twice he called upon the Morninglord's blessing, washing away some of the damage the spider's poison had inflicted on the elven woman.
Lesser Restoration - Delenn: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Lesser Restoration - Delenn: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Still feeling quite sick himself, the priest saved his final blessing of the spell for himself. He sighed as he felt some of the internal damage mending, the sick feeling lessening to a faint queasiness. It would have to do, for now.
Lesser Restoration - Zane: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Once everyone was rested and up, the priest looked at the portal leading down into the chamber they had ascended from. He wondered what might lie in wait as they exited. It couldn't be helped...if they had continued, they surely would have started taking casualties.

Ishta Khosiv |

In the morning, Ishta wakes up covered in sweat. "Good morning" she greets. She has some bits o dry food, and comments the group about her dream see spoiler above.
"I don't know what happened, I don't even know if it's something that really happened or just some kind of mysticism, but..." She shrugs, as if trying to lessen its importance, but deep inside she's really worried, and part of the guilt is that they're in a meditation chamber dedicated to Oghma. She now has to study her morning spells, and is a bit afraid about it.

Kardas Rasalas |

Kardas rubs the sleep out of the corners of his eyes and runs a hand through his untamed hair. "Orcs, elves and dwarves - sounds like our adventuring is getting to you, Ishta. Who knows, maybe it means something, maybe it doesn't. This place was made for prayer and reflection after all. Best write down the details, for dreams are like summers. Gone before you know it."

Ser Armithia-Seendren |

Zane; do you need me to memorize a lesser restoration? Actually, two...lol.
Actually, I can use Heal to Provide Long term care DC 15 instead. Taking 10 for 16...lol.

DM Fang Dragon |

A nights sleep and Zane's prayers seem to have helped somewhat, with everyone bitten feeling somewhat better, even if Delenn still looks rather sickly.
8 hours rest cures 1 point of con damage from everyone, plus an extra 4 cured for Zane and Delenn.

Delenn Moonbean |

A rather pasty looking Delenn regains consciousness after Zane's ministrations and she groggily awakens as if from a nightmare and cries softly, "Lennier!" She then blinks and groans softly before propping herself up on her elbows to peer about dubiously, "Where am I?" Her face lights up wonder, "Oh by the stars it's real! I thought the refuge was just a rumor... Powerful magics have been wrought here over the aeons."

Ishta Khosiv |

Kn Arcana: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 28
"Yes, I can feel it..." Ishta says, breathing deeply. "The power lines are strong here."

Kardas Rasalas |

"Pfah! Places like these only bring ruin. That what you can't hold, Mystra does not want you to wield. But what do I know? Anyways, how are you all feeling? Ready to ride one more time and see this through to the end? Gods, we must be so close to our goal!"
It might be wise to have an OOC discussion about what spells to memorize since we know we might have to take on a silver (?) construct and that there are a ton of outsiders here, all of them rocking some nasty spell resistances. And yes, Armithia, more lesser resto's would be great - the map page shows how much CON damage we are still suffering.

Azarra |

Wow, cool dream Ishta. I like the idea of that book you dreamed about being here somewhere. My dream was definitely not that cool. I mean, it started out cool, but then it got creepy. What happened was that I felt like my spirit was hovering over all of us while we were sleeping. I contemplated the sign of Oghma for a while, but then suddenly I was aware of something looking at me, like a great horrible eye, malevolent and floating in the void! It seemed to be searching for something... and it was like it was drawn to me, and even though I didn't want to, I couldn't stop myself from looking back at it.

Zane Levallis |

Zane listened to the stories of the ladies as he sat and ate a quick and rather tasteless meal of rations, brow furrowing slightly. Though Oghma was far more bent on scholarship and far less worried about morality than Lathander, he still wasn't an evil deity. Which meant that whatever magic was infusing this room was likely what was causing the strange dreams. Delenn had cried out, as well...could it be something that only applied to the fairer sex? The priest didn't want to stay another night and test the theory.
After listening to Azarra, the priest shook his head. "I wonder if whatever had taken over here had tainted this place, somewhat? I suppose you'd have to be a grand arcanist to do so. Or something worse. Still, Lathander brought the sun over the horizon again, even if we can't see it. I am full of His power and might, and our mission is righteous. Let us proceed and finish what we started." The cleric's belly tightened in pain as a spasm passed through him, but he ignored it and started preparing to leave the protected area.

I think you have to make a DC 15 heal check for that Ser.

Ishta Khosiv |

If he's allowed to take 10, he auto succeeds. Does that also double HP recovery?
"An evil eye? Mmm..." Ishta wonders why have she and Azarra had those strange dreams while the rest haven't. Maybe sleeping again in the place would bring some light to it, but she's hoping to discover that in the future, not today.
Today they have something to do.

Ser Armithia-Seendren |

Taking 10 and Yuppers.

Azarra |

Azarra asks anyone if they need healing from her wand (If so, roll your own. It has 4 charges left).
After making sure everyone is healed, she raises the trapdoor just enough to be able to see through, checking to see if it is safe to go down.
Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22

Kardas Rasalas |

Kardas stifles a laugh when Zane comments on gender being a meaningful thing in relation to how this Oghmatic sphere functions. "I'm ready to get moving again. Delenn, does your spellbook contain the False Life incantation? In your weakened state, you might want to consider using it to keep you safe."
Lesser Resto: 1d4 ⇒ 2
This leaves Kardas with 2 points of con damage, reducing his total HP pool to 50.

Zane Levallis |

Lesser Restoration: 1d4 ⇒ 2 I believe I'm also 2 short, now. Thanks, Ser!
Zane piled up with the others behind the perceptive half-elf as she peeked through the opening down into the main room to see how much company had collected during their rest. While he still didn't feel fully himself, the rest had re-invigorated him, and he clutched his dawnbringer with intensity and purpose. He went over the new, powerful blessings Lathander had granted him this morning, hoping that he wouldn't have to use them, but very grateful to have them in case he did.

Delenn Moonbean |

OK Ser Armithia takes 10 and that's an extra 1 con healed for everyone. So I think you're down to 1 con damage Kardas which due to the way con damage works means you're at full hp.
Delenn looks up from her book and replies, "Yes good idea Kardas." A little while later she closes her spellbook and packs it away and asks, "Whats the plan? Did you still wish to dispel the magic? If so perhaps the Worlds Beyond collection? At one time it had a collection of scrolls and planar paraphernalia."

Ser Armithia-Seendren |

Skills are good; umm-k.
Ser Armithia prepares to continue the fun.

Kardas Rasalas |

"I'm in favor of giving this Worlds Beyond collection a go. Where is it exactly, Delenn?"
Is everyone good to go with regards to healing / current hp?

Zane Levallis |

The priest added his voice to the discussion. "Dispelling the magic seems as good a plan as any. And we might possibly find other useful things there that our arcane friends can use." The way forward seemed clear, so the cleric prepared to proceed.
I'm not sure where everyone is HP-wise. If we still have several folks down, I'll channel to conserve the wand resources, since I can hit everyone at once.

Ishta Khosiv |

Ishta is 9 points down; she can use a charge, or a spell/channel, as you wish.
"Well, let's go then" Ishta adds to the conversation. "These scrolls aren't going to come here to us" she adds with a smile, a bit more confident today having rested and recovered some of her magical energies.

Kardas Rasalas |

"Good, we are of one mind. Delenn, can you point us the way to this room containing the Worlds Beyond collection?"
Azarra has 4 charges remaining on her wand and said anyone is free to use it, so go for it, Ish!

Ser Armithia-Seendren |

Use mine out of combat; save those 4 charges for in combat emergency.

Ishta Khosiv |

I was asking because Zane appeared to be about to channel, but anyway.
Whoever's CLW Wand: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Delenn Moonbean |

I just realized long term care also heals HP so I adjusted totals accordingly. Unfortunately Ser can't tend to himself so he's the only one with significant wounds left. I'd suggest sorting those out sooner than later :)
Still looking rather pale Delenn replied, "I'll show you Kardas, it's not far..." She leads you back to the junction around the final close angelic gate and points at a door (B), "It's this one."
The door is closed but unlocked and the area seems eerily quiet.

Azarra |

Ser, are you hurt? If so, do something about it. Also: I'm not healing with a wand in a combat emergency, and I want to use up this wand. I'm taking the charge off my wand.
Ser, are you hurt? We are not leaving here till everyone is healed up.

At the door:
Once the party is healed and ready, Azarra casts Open from 25 feet away, encouraging everyone else to back off a little bit too, just in case.

Kardas Rasalas |

Kardas balls his hand into a fist and you could swear you can hear his knuckles as he utters a an ancient Nar word of power. "Ready when you are, Armithia."

As the group assembled outside the door Delenn indicated was the correct one, peering about nervously as he noted the lack of commotion. Perhaps whatever traps had been triggered had been reset during their rest. That was the hope, anyway.
Closing his eyes for a moment, the priest called upon the Morninglord to show the party his grace as they began to explore once again. A soft, rosy light emanated from the disc in his hand, surrounding each of the members of the group before the glow faded. Everyone seemed to feel slightly more prescient and alert, just a bit more tuned in to their surroundings. "The divine magic is finite, my friends. We best not delay."
Cast Bless outside the door. 5 Minute duration.

Before Azarra proceeds t open the door, Ishta takes position and gets ready for the worst.
Ready action: Cast Create Pit in the room if there are enemies.

DM Fang Dragon |

The door is thrown open by Azarra's spell to reveal a small library. Judging by the names of the closest tomes, the books and other materials in this room contain a wealth of information on the planes. There are signs denoting the outer planes as well as the inner planes, and a section described as demiplanes. Inside hangs a thin mist which reacts to the door opening but thickening and coalescing into four vaguely humanoid figures which seem to be made of steam. Where the head should be is a flickering of fire, and with a shriek of glee like a steam whistle they attack!

Kardas Rasalas, Delenn, Azarra, Zane Levallis and Ser Armithia-Seendren are up. Ishta you don't have to cast Create Pit unless you still want to.

Zane Levallis |

Not understanding much about the wispy foes in the room, Zane stepped into the library and to the side to allow the others to stream in, as well. He hefted his mace, ready to swing at the creatures if they approached, although unsure of what effect it might have.
Readied Action to strike the first one that comes into range.
Heavy Mace, Bless: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 1 = 9Looks like the night's rest hasn't made the dice any friendlier. LOL

Ishta Khosiv |

Kn Planes: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12 Nice.
Though Ishta has no fecking idea what these creatures are, they seem to be in a kind of hazy form, so she believes the pit spell will be of little use.

Looks like a steam mephit variant. Don't use fire. Try magic or cold.
Guessing I know those things by the roll, DM. If I do not and I spoke out of turn, please let me know and I will undo anything I have done based on the knowledge.
Azarra screams Elven insults at the Red Mephit.
Wordstrike (Sonic Damage): 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 <--half this damage.

Ser Armithia-Seendren |

Ser Armithia appears to start to speak, when a zealous Zane enters the occupied chamber.
We may want to take advantage of our surroundings. Lure them out here.
They have a higher (lol) Initiative modifier than our knight.

Kardas Rasalas |

Kardas fetches a pinch of mica from a leather pouch containing spell components and hastily incants a conjuration spell. A veritable cloud of gold dust poofs into existence with the room and, just as abruptly as it came to be, so too it explodes.
Glitterdust is a 10ft radius spread and so should hit all four of them when aimed at/on the blue mephit. No SR, Will save vs DC 14. Creatures get another saving throw at the end of their turn.
Glitterdust's spell info can be found here

DM Fang Dragon |

Thanks for linking the spell Kardas.
Kardas completes his spell and a billowing cloud of sticky yellow gunk appears among the mephits, getting everywhere and covering everything even their eyes!

Wordstrike is a supernatural ability, so Spell Resistance shouldn't count, according to this: https://www.d20pfsrd.com/Gamemastering/special-abilities/#TOC-Supernatural- Abilities-Su- ("Supernatural abilities are magical but not spell-like.") ... As far as DR, it is sonic damage, and magical by definition, which gets around most things, but might not for everything. It takes up bardic performance slots every time I use it, so I guess the closest thing to compare would be some other type of bardic performance. It is crap damage, but useful when my bow doesn't work.

Zane Levallis |

At Ser Armithia's words and as the beautiful spell filled the room, almost dazzling the priest, Zane looked behind him to find that not a single ally had followed him into the room. Maybe his head for tactics needed a bit of adjusting. Chagrined, he was about to slip back out of the room when the brave paladin came storming by, slicing at the creature nearest the end of the glitterdust. The priest moved to cover the gold elf's back, and also to create a clear line of effect for anyone who decided to throw more magic at the things.
