Twilight. |
Ok, Twilight level up(s)
Mystic theurge +2
HP +12
Wis +1
Skills: Bluff +2, Diplo +2, Spellcraft +2, Sense motive +1, Kn religion +1, Disguise +2, Intimidate +2
Feat Greater spell focus (necromancy)
+2 caster levels in cleric and wizard
Combine spell (level 1)
Bab +1
Fort/ref/will +1/+1/+1
As a mystic theurge I don't get free wizard spells on level up, so I will have to buy and scribe some scrolls.
Mirela Wintrish |
GM? Is there any more loot that we got from the last fight?
Artegal got a the Doctor's Rapier
TWilight got the the wand of magic missles from Lamm
What about the rest of the stuff?
Lamm's spell book is that anywhere down there? (I'm sure Twilight would appreciate)
Any armor from Lamm or Andaisan?
The scythe that Mirla picked up
The armor/weapons from the grey maiden zombies
Looking at the existing loot list, I wouldn't mind picking up the Chain shirt +1 and handing over my Masterwork Chain Shirt that I am wearing.
karlprosek |
Andaisin loot:
Potion of Barkskin
+2 breastplate
+2 vicious scythe
Belt of mighty constitution +2
Cloak of resistance +2
Headband of inspired wisdom +2
Onyx unholy symbol of Urgathoa worth 200 gp
27 gp, 3 sp, 3 cp
G11 empty laboratory:
Alchemical supplies worth 500 gp
G7 cultist quarters:
Robe of bones
400 gp worth of stuff
Hospice loading dock:
Crate of elegant silk Vudrani clothes worth 300 gp
If you loot the Gray Maidens they're all wearing full plate, steel shield, composite longbow (+3 Str), and longsword. ~1930 gp each, if you strip them and take their stuff. I think there were 6 in the hospice. I will say that you're only going to get half of regular value for Gray Maiden full plate, though- nobody wants to be caught with that highly recognizable armor.
Every Queen's Physician has a Plaguebringer's Mask worth 2000 gp. I think there were 14 of them total.
Cultist gear was not particularly valuable.
Artegall |
Great! I will add that to the loot tracker and figure out the shares.
Anything from Lamm besides his wand (which we need to ID)?
The +2 Vicious Scythe is a very powerful weapon. @Nargun, would you want to use that or should we sell it? +2d6 damage on every strike, but you take +1d6 damage each time.
Mirela Wintrish |
Looking over the loot.
Besides swapping the chain shirt +1 for my masterwork chain shirt,I would like that headband of Wisdom.
And we should probably not sell the con belt (Whisper or I could use it if nobody else wants it) and cloak of resistance +2 should probably go to Nargun as he has a bad will save.
The rest of the stuff I’m good with someone else taking or selling.
Mirela Wintrish |
Was there anythin on Lamm?
There wasn’t anything from him on the loot list.
karlprosek |
Sorry this week is kicking my butt. I'll get a post up Monday.
Nargun, I'm not a PFS DM, I can't sign off on chronicle sheets. Was this supposed to be a PFS game?
Real quick here's Lamm's gear:
Combat Gear scroll of teleport, wand of magic missile
(CL 3rd, 43 charges); Other Gear +1 dagger, belt of
mighty constitution +2, cloak of resistance +1, headband
of vast intelligence +2, ring of protection +1, unguent
of timelessness (6), mwk thieves’ tools, fine mortician’s
tools (worth 100 gp) , 6 black onyxes (worth 150 gp),
spellbook (contains all cantrips save those of the illusion
and transmutation schools plus detect thoughts, grease,
ice storm, magic missile, and 2d4 additional spells of your
choice for each level from 1st to 4th), extensive notes on
blood veil, 50 gp, 5 sp
GM Kai |
Since it looks like you are going exactly off the book for Lamm…
Twilight here was Lamm’s spell list if you want to use it to fill in the spellbook
4th—animate dead, dimension door, enervation, infuse decay
3rd—dispel magic, hold person, lightning bolt, ray of exhaustion, vampiric touch
2nd—false life, ghoul touch, scorching ray, touch of idiocy, spectral hand
1st—charm person, chill touch, mage armor, ray of enfeeblement, shield, unlock flesh
Artegall |
I added the loot to the tracker.
Neither Mirela nor Twilight have any stat-boosting items. I might suggest that they each take a Belt of Mighty Constitution +2 (one from Lady Andaisin, one from Lamm) and that Mirela take Lady A's Headband of Inspired Wisdom +2 and Twilight take Lamm's Headband of Vast Intelligence +2.
The +2 Breastplate might be okay for Mirela (it would improve her AC from 18 to 21, even with her being limited by its Max Dex), but it would slow her down a bit, and if her Dex continued to increase then that max Dex would be constraining. If she doesn't want it, we should sell it.
If Nargun doesn't want the +2 Vicious Scythe, we should sell that too.
Artegall might want the Ring of Protection +1 if nobody else wants it. He is on the front lines a lot without the DR and HP that Nargun has.
Keeping the Belts and Headbands, and selling just about everything else, would bring shares of about 15,000 each. Not surprisingly, the WBL difference between 8th and 6th is basically that (17,000 GP).
Artegall |
I don't know exactly how much stuff we are selling and how much we are keeping, but here is basically what Artegall would like to get:
Upgrade headband to +2 Int/Wis (6,000)
Upgrade shield to +2 (4,000)
Upgrade Cloak of Resistance to +2 (3,000)
That would be with a share of 13,000 (allowing for the fact that we might not sell everything on the list). If the shares were a bit higher I think he would save the rest.
Mirela Wintrish |
OK, in that case Mirela would take the following from the loot list:
Breastplate + 2 (4350)
Belt of Mighty Constitution + 2 (4000)
Headband of Inspired Wisdom + 2 (4000)
That is a share of 12350. (6175 if we are talking just sale cost)
I would suggest we keep a couple potions of cure light wounds, the Wand of CSW, Wand of Remove Disease, the Scrolls of Teleport, Raise Dead, Restoration and the Spellbook as Party equipment before we calculate shares.
(My thought is Artegall and Nargun each carry at least one potion of CLW so they can heal if they have to. Then Twilight and Mirela split up who is holding the Wands and Scrolls and Twilight keeps the spellbook, since it will all benefit all of the party)
If we take that all out, sell just the new stuff plus add in selling Mirela's MW Chain Shirt, Artegall's +1 Longsword, Atticus's MW parade armor, the MW longsword, the +1 Chain Shirt: that's an equal share of 13080 for each character.
Nargun already has a Ring of Protection + 1 so should that should go to Artigal or Twilight? We also have a Ring of Jumping that nobody is using that seems a waste to sell given we have so few rings right now.
Twilight and Nargun what stuff from the loot list are you thinking might be interesting to you, or do we sell a bunch for cash split it up.
Twilight. |
For the headbands Twilight could use either, but since MIrella uses wisdom specifically I would suggest the intellect for Twilight.
Twilight will take the spellbook
There are two con belts? Wouldn't those be good on Artegall and Nargun (unless they already have one) Otherwise I have no qualms about taking one.
We are all good with selling the silver covered hands and holy symbol of Urgathoa? If so, Twilight will offer that she might know a potential buyer for the holy symbol but elaborates no further.
The ring of protection would probably be good on Artegall.
I could also use the cloak +1 if nobody takes it.
I thought the ring of jumping was +20, but its only +5 =(. I'm not opposed to using it and handing it off is someone else needs it.
Nargun Firehelm |
Same thing here, got a strenght belt. And already 20 CON.
Now, would it be possible to pay to upgrade or trade our belts of Giant Strenght to Belts of Physical might? That cost 10000 GP, our belts are worth 4000 gp, so we can sell them for 2000 or maybe enhance them paying 6000 GP?
Mirela Wintrish |
OK, so I think I have this all calculated out correctly, we selling all the following:
Chain Shirt + 1
MW Longsword
Atticus's MW parade armor
28 Potions of Cure Light Wounds
8 Breastplate + 1
2 Grim Candlesticks
Exotic Incense
Artegall's +1 Longsword
Onyx holy symbol of Urgathoa
Alchemical Supplies
Robe of Bones
Cultist Gear
Silk Clothes
14 Plaguebringer Masks
6 Grey Maiden Armor (under the table)
+1 Dagger
6 Unguent of Timelessness
MW Thieves Tools
Mortician's Tools
6 Black Onyxes
Mirela's Masterwork Chain Shirt
That's 30363.5GP in coins.
Mirela keeps: 7476.875 gp
Breastplate + 2
Belt of Mighty Constitution + 2
Headband of Inspired Wisdom + 2
Scroll of Raise Dead, Restoration
Twilight Keeps: 9901.875 gp
Headband of Vast Intelligence +2
Spellbook
Belt of Mighty Constitution + 2
Cloak of Resistance + 1
Ring of Jumping
Scroll of Teleport
Wand of Remove Disease
Wand of CSW
Wand of Magic Missile
Artegal keeps: 8491.875 gp
Ring of Protection + 1
Rapier of Human Bane + 1 (That wasn't on the loot list before)
Potion of CLW
Nargun keeps: 4492.875 gp
+2 Vicious Scythe
Potion of CLW
Does that look right to everyone? The Scythe is the one thing I'm not sure on. If he doesn't want to keep it Nargun just gets 13651.875 gold and a potion of CLW.
GM can we upgrade items with our cash and or submit items to buy if we are interested?
Artegall |
Okay, so we are selling less stuff than I originally anticipated, and I now see how you are doing it with the allocation of sale value of claimed items. Understood.
There are a bunch of items not noted as being sold or allocated to anybody. They date back to before I joined:
MW dagger (Key shaped)
MW mithral dagger
+1 shortspear
Potion of Cure Moderate Wounds
Potion of Bear's Endurance
Potion of CMW x4
Bottle of Air
12 flasks of alchemist's fire
Bone pipes of Haunting
Silver Tooth
Were these already sold or allocated? Or do we wish to keep them?
Mirela Wintrish |
Mirela was carrying the MW mithral dagger..... so allocate that to her.
The rest was never allocated, so we can decide what to do with all that...
Sell or allocate as needed.
I assumed most of that was just sitting in the inn...
I'd say we keep the MW dagger (Key shaped) (there are actually 2 of them one was on a player that left the game) because they both came from both Lamm's lairs, and we never found anything they unlock. (We do know they associate with a serial killer) So they might come up again somewhere down the line....
karlprosek |
Since we have a record of the game, would it be possible for Nargun to have another GM sign off on the PFS?
Idk how the DM side of PFS works, sorry. Nargun do you know if that's possible?
Now, would it be possible to pay to upgrade or trade our belts of Giant Strenght to Belts of Physical might? That cost 10000 GP, our belts are worth 4000 gp, so we can sell them for 2000 or maybe enhance them paying 6000 GP?
I'm fine with you upgrading magic items, for items that have listed prices just pay the difference in price. AoN says "If the item’s current and proposed abilities follow the normal pricing rules (particularly with weapons, armor, and shields), adding the new abilities is a matter of subtracting the old price from the new price and determining how many days of crafting it takes to make up the difference." So the only issue might be having enough days to craft (you've made enough friends to have a friendly crafting wizard be willing to do it for you) but you have enough downtime right now that's not an issue.
Twilight. |
Yes, I think all that old stuff was just because at or around the time we got it the town was in riots/plagues so the price was lower than normal and we just decided to hoard it. It should be good to sell if there is nothing anyone wants.
I also agree that we should keep the key daggers since they seem important.
Artegall |
The big-ticket items among those early finds are the +1 shortspear (sale price 1,150) Bottle of Air (3,625) and the Pipes of Haunting (3,000).
Then 5 potions of CMW, 1 Bear's Endurance, and 12 Alchemists' Fire (sale price 1,020 total).
That makes 8,795 total, for an additional 2,198.75 each.
Artegall's share is then 8491.875+2198.75 = 10,690.625
He will upgrade his headband to +2 Int/Wis (6,000)
And upgrade his cloak to +2 (3,000)
And upgrade his shield to +1 (1,000)
Leaving him with, counting the 6 GP he had before, a total of 696.62 GP. That remaining fraction would be half a copper so I don't think it matters.
Ready to move on to Book 3.
Nargun Firehelm |
Start money 500+4492+2198=7150
Selling the Vicious Scythe for 9000 GP (half of 18000)
Sell +1 Chain shirt (550 GP)
Total 16700 gp
Upgrade Belt of Giant Strenght+2 to Belt of Physical Might +2 (STR/CON) for 6000 GP
Buy +2 Mithral Chain mail (150+4000 for Mithral+4000 for Magic) for 8150 GP
Buy a new Aegis of Recovery (1500 GP) cause it's a life saver
16700-6000-8150-1500= 1050 GP left
Mirela Wintrish |
Ok then
Mirela has. 885.28(starting gold) + 7476.875 -251 + 2198.75 = 10309.905
She grabs the following out of the stash:
Breastplate + 2
Belt of Mighty Constitution + 2
Headband of Inspired Wisdom + 2
Scroll of Raise Dead, Restoration
MW Mithral Dagger
Ok if possible then I would like to upgrade my composite bow + 1 to an Adaptive composite bow +1 (1000 gp)
And upgrade the belt of mighty constitution to a belt of physical perfection + 2 (6000 gp)
Purchase an efficient quiver. (1800 gp)
That’s 8800 gp spent leaving me with 1509.905 gp.
Mirela Wintrish |
Ok rules question…. If I have a mix of normal, magical and special arrows in an abundant quiver….
Can I cast abundant ammunition on the quiver and pull an endless stream of normal non magic arrows out of it, Or does the presence of the magic arrows make the quiver an invalid target?
I believe it’s the first, but a strict reading of the rules could make it mean the quiver must only have valid non magic arrows in it.
Twilight. |
If I am understanding this correctly:
Twilight started with 1020 gp +9901 +2198 -1210 (tithe) = 11,909 gp
From the stash:
Headband of Vast Intelligence +2
Spellbook
Belt of Mighty Constitution + 2
Cloak of Resistance + 1
Ring of Jumping
Scroll of Teleport
Wand of Remove Disease
Wand of CSW
Wand of Magic Missile
What skill is linked to the headband of int?
karlprosek |

Agree it's the first reading.
What skill is linked to the headband of int?
Entry doesn't specify and I don't care enough to do the math to figure it out. Just pick one you want.
Mirela Wintrish |
GM I think we are waiting on you?
Also I don't think we ever got the answer on Harrow Points.
GM Kai |
Normally how horrow points work changes every book
But it also runs based on cards it seems like.
First chapter they were Dex based, second Con based…. Not sure what they are this chapter.
I actually have a physical harrow deck, I used for another game. (Homebrew not Curse of the crimson throne)
I could run the reading for this chapter if you all want. (Once we get to a good stopping point)
I just need everyone’s agreement to crack open my PDF and look at it as there is a small chance I could spoil myself on something as I really haven’t look at anything more then the little section I stepped in to GM. So I would have to find the harrow details in the pdf.
karlprosek |
OK this is what I see in the book:
In “Escape from Old Korvosa,” the PCs are faced with
numerous situations where reasoning, logic, and attention
to detail can save lives. During this chapter, a character can
spend his Harrow Points in the following ways.
Arcane Wrath: A PC with levels in a class that grants
bonus spells based on his Intelligence score can spend a
Harrow Point to increase the power of a spell from that
class’s spell list as he casts it. He increases the DC of that
spell by 2 and gains both a +4 bonus on caster level checks
to overcome spell resistance and a +2 bonus on any attack
rolls for that spell.
Flash of Insight: A PC can spend a Harrow Point to
attempt a check for a skill that requires training and in
which he has no ranks. He gains a one-time +5 insight
bonus on this check.
Intelligence Rerolls: A PC can spend a Harrow Point to
reroll an Intelligence-based check. He must abide by the
new result (although if he has additional Harrow Points
remaining, he can use them to attempt additional rerolls).
After skimming the Choosing rules I'm gonna be honest and say I'm not interested in running this mechanic. Feel free to use your Harrow points as listed above and GM Kai if you want to run a Harrowing be my guest but I'm not going to learn the rules for this.
Mirela Wintrish |
Should we proceed in?
Mirela Wintrish |
GM. I think we are waiting to hear what is upstairs.
Mirela Wintrish |
Artegall I can give you touch of good (+ 4 sacred bonus) to help open the lock. But it only lasts one round.
Does anyone else have anything to help with his check?
Artegall |
Touch of Good is limited, whereas Blessing of the Faithful (also a sacred bonus) is not - Twilight can just keep on using it until I roll high enough to succeed.
The -4 ACP is pretty significant but Artegall can pretty readily hit the DC once he can take the armor off.
Twilight. |
I figured that days had passed since he left his house, I was just thinking that once we got down to the old dock and maybe even met his friend there he might have been around more recently and if we were lucky could pick up his scent there.
Mirela Wintrish |
GM what is the light level here?
It’s night so I can’t see well without light.
Are these all humans also?
Twilight. |
I'm trying to see if we can bribe our way past these guys. If that doesn't work I am going to build on Nargun's opening to see if we can just intimidate our way through them. (Good cop bad cop kind of thing)
diplomacy: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20
Mirela Wintrish |
And as I said Mirela is using Whisper as a guide dog to follow the others…. So I can follow the dark shapes in front of her just not fight.
But your guys seem to either have light or you can rule that the sun is just rising and continue on. Or it’s dark and we would have to cast light for a Mirela to operate (which Mirela also has). Thus my question if the are non-human and have some sort of low or dark vision.
Artegall |
Artegall is deferring to either Mirela or Twilight to speak up, but if they don't then he will after a while.
Mirela Wintrish |
Mirela isn't the talkative one... Twilight is probably the best spokesperson here.
Mirela Wintrish |
I’m going to be traveling starting the 16th and continuing pretty consistently for the next 4 weeks. So if I’m slow posting just bot me and Whisper.
