Bab+1
+1 Ref/Will savesSkills (+4)
Acrobatics+1
Craft-Weaponsmith +1
Intimidate +1
Swim+1Extreme Endurance (Ex): At 3rd level, the invulnerable rager is inured to either hot or cold climate effects (choose one: FIRE) as if using endure elements. In addition, the barbarian gains 1 point of fire or cold resistance for every three levels beyond 3rd. This ability replaces trap sense.
New Feat: Power Attack
Got it. Power Attack makes you pretty fearsome. Let me know in the die rolls when you use it.
You still don't have tools to help with the Craft skill. Not sure if you want to sink $$$ into that at some point, or not.

Never played with an occultist, so I may need a tutorial, but I think that's perfectly fine. Maybe stay in touch with the spirit of Madame Zellara?
I got the idea the moment we get the tsrot deck.
He will use the tarot deck from the late madame is implement.Mirela Wintrish |
Sorry for the delay leveling up. I’m “camping” with my younger boys at a local museum so I haven’t gotten near my books or computer all day. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to do the level up late tomorrow afternoon.
DM DoctorEvil |
Thanks. Sounds like Devan has a paladin also. And Twilight has a fighter that might work.
If you are interested enough to try out fo the one spot, post over in that Discussion thread and we'll let the existing players chose their replacement.

Cleric Level 3:
HP 5 + 1 Con (Up to 23)
BAB + 1
Ref Save + 1
Skills (3 + 1 for Favored Class)
Religion + 1
Handle Animal +1
Perception +1
Sense Motive +1 (I figured she was exposed to enough talking this level she should start to pick up on at least basic tells from those around her.)
New Spells: 2nd Level: Lesser Restoration, Hold Person, Domain - Feather Fall
New Feat: Rapid Shot
Looking ahead: Doctor Evil - Next level I would be picking up an animal companion. It would be nice to work it into the game before I just "get" it next level. Maybe it was hurt and Mirela heals it, we find and animal trapped and help it out of a jam, we find a baby that Mirela can raise or something else that you come up with to introduce the creature even if it doesn't have a mechanical effect yet in the game.
Given Mirela has the feather domain, Bird would have been my first choice, BUT given what we now know about the Drakes and Imps, I can't imagine there are many birds in the city... Imps would eat them for breakfast. Plus we are indoors so much, a bird might not work well.. (but I don't know if that changes much going forward in the campaign)
Maybe a Wolf/Dog or Small Cat would work better? Unless those drakes qualify as an animal companion? But they are smart, so my guess is those would be more of a familiar then an animal companion.
Thoughts? I'm open to just about anything that makes the story more interesting... I've never played with a pet before so I'm not quite sure how to use one for more then flavor.

Not otyugh? Disappointing...Thanks for the heads-up. I think there will be opportunity to work a companion in soon enough.
Atticus Fulvios |
Gm 2 questions. Could you please set city of strangers pfs game to inactive.
And second any chance to trade the dagger +1 for another weapon somewhere?
Ps would you think Atticus feel more comfortable with a bardiche, a scimitar or a two handed sword?
Nargun Firehelm |
Buying
Masterwork artisan Tools (55 gp)
Masterwork greataxe (320 gp)
Explorer outfit (10 gp)
Masterwork backpack (50 gp)
Drinks 5 gp per person, so 25 gp
2 baths (12 cp?)
Twilight. |
Dire rats make excellent urban companions ;)
Nargun looks down the hole the creature came from and sees a little otyugh calling out "mommy" mournfully staring back up at him with its weird eye tentacle. The group realizes that they have just killed its mother who was just trying to find food for her {its?} child. Overcome with remorse, the group takes in the little lump of tentacley flesh and it bonds with Mirella. Twilight it suitably revolted.
Mirela Wintrish |
Gods the though of actually bonding with one of those things just creeps me out.
Mirela Wintrish |
Just to be real clear, we are touching on some touchy subjects and adult themes here and it seems like Mirela is in the middle of most of it.
If anything is written that makes any of you uncomfortable or if we have already done so, please just say so or PM me and I’ll stop it immediately/move it off screen.
I’m assuming that’s not the case here, but I’ve accidentally crossed the line in my home game with some very young players before and I want to make sure that doesn’t happen here.
No judgement if you do say stop. We all have our own history and where that line is can be very different for people. So if you don’t like X, just say so. I want this to be fun for everyone, not icky or uncomfortable.
Devan Covarie |
I think we've been doing a good job of leaving the truly adult activities implied and off-screen. That being said, I'm fully in support of Mirela's statement. I've been having a great time so far, and I hope every one of you have, as well.

What do you do with our existing waraxe, shield, backpack etc? Do you want to sell those off to defray expenses or keep them?
Nargun Firehelm |
@ Mirela: I'm French. And 45 y/o. So you have to go a loooooooooooooong way to shock me. ^^
@GM just selling the backpack, I think I can handle the weight of the rest, I'll check.(That why I want to buy a mithral armor ASAP)
Mirela Wintrish |
Nargun, When running a game recently, I've made a friend's son cry with just creepy voices and music before, something I never even considered a possible issue before I did it. So I normally like to be very clear before we even get near the line.
After all so far in the first couple levels we have already dealt with Torture, Drugs, prostitution, Cannibalism, Violence against Children and I'm about to introduce an animal that DoctorEvil can do bad things to. Any one of those things could be something that bothers someone.
So I wanted to step back and just confirm everyone is cool before we go farther down the rabbit hole of whatever this AP has for us.
Mirela Wintrish |
@DoctorEvil: Since I would have no idea what is ahead of us when she woke up Mirela is going to use her standard Spell Layout
2nd— hold person (DC 14), lesser restoration
1st—bless, Command, shield of faith
. . 0 (at will)—detect magic, guidance, light, stabilize
Domain Spells: 2 - feather fall & 1 - protection from evil
Nargun Firehelm |
@Gm: I checked my encumbrance and I'm still low. So I just keep my weapons and shield, and get rid of my normal backpack.
Question on Power Attack with 2H weapons:The strenght bonus to damage is augmented by an half when you use a 2 handed weapons. My normal +3 bonus should get up to +4. Does the +2 bonus to damage from Power Attack get the same rise with a two handed weapon (going to +3)?
@Mirela: I have absolutely no problem with what happened in game between the players so far. Lamm was an absolute baddy, someone we HAD to loathe. My personal uncrossable line would be at harming Young, innocent, fluffy kittens. ^^
Mirela Wintrish |
If we go shopping Mirela is looking for:
Masterwork Chain Shirt (250 gp)
Masterwork buckler (155 gp)
Explorers Outfit (10 gp) - Preferably something that can go over her new chain shirt, with a wooden cloak clasp carved with Erastil's symbol for the leather cloak, but that last can be an add on later.
10 doses of Night Tea (1 gp)
Then she would put in an order for a Nice Dress - Courtier's Outfit (30 gp) to be picked up sometime later.
She also offers to buy Devan a new set of clothing of his choice, as a thank you for the experience yesterday.
Sell off her existing Buckler and Hide Armor. (+10 gp)
Cost: 436 total gold + Devan's outfit
Mirela Wintrish |
Ok, then Mirela picks up a travelers outfit and reversible cloak for Devan.
Reversible cloak, one side dark and the other side somethign more flamboyant that looks good on him for performing. Maybe a crimson or deep purple.
That way he's set no matter what he wants to do.
I'm guessing that will run 1 gp for the cloak and 1 more for the travelers outfit. But there's a range for those costs so DoctorEvil you can tell me for sure.
Atticus Fulvios |
@Mirela and I am German. While most people think us as very boring we are anything but. And I had a very... interesting life.
@Nargun. OF course it does. Str 16 + PA with a two handed grip makes it +7 damage
DM DoctorEvil |
I agree that without raging, 2H, PA, greataxe should be +6 to hit and +7 to damage on a 1d12. If raging, then +8 to hit and +10 dmg. Yikes...
I agree that Nargun can still carry all the gear. Will sell backpack for 1gp.
Don't think there will be any harm to kittens forthcoming, but one can never be too sure...

I didn't show you with a buckler in your equipment before, but may have missed it on my end. Are you sure you owned one before buying the MW version?
Twilight. |
While out purchasing, Twilight will pick up a scroll of grease (25 gp) and the ink and materials to scribe it into her spellbook (10 gp). She is planning on copying it into her spellbook this evening.
Should I be keeping track of spellbook pages used?

Don't think you need to track spellbook pages...I think we can waive that one.
DM DoctorEvil |
Just want to clarify the thing about ability score damage. See this link to the PRD about the topic. What Devan has, from disease is ability damage. It takes 2 points of ability damage to affect stat bonuses (the stat itself is not affected) regardless of where you start. That is 3 pts of abiliyt damage only changes your bonus by 1. As does 2 pts of dmg. 1 point of ability dmg has no effect. Since Devan has just 1 pt of damage now, his bonuses are back to normal. Is that clear?
Ability drain on the other hand is much more serious and actually lowers the stats, semi-permanently.
Mirela Wintrish |
I didn't show you with a buckler in your equipment before, but may have missed it on my end. Are you sure you owned one before buying the MW version?
If you look at the gameplay thread I refrenced putting my buckler on my arm way back in late November so Yes I had it before buying the MW version.
You all need to watch your encumbrance and speed. I show both Mirela and Devan at med speed now based on weight. Mirela is actually approaching heavy...
I knew that and didn't care that much because I was wearing medium armor before, so my speed didn't get affected.
Now since I have light armor, I'm going to make the following changes:The following items get dropped in Devan's room before we go to the Citidel for our mission.
Travelers Outfit (As I changed to the Explorers Outfit I just bought)
11xArrows +1 (Hidden as well as I can)
Bachelor Snuff
Bedroll
Dagger
Flint and Steel
Holy Text
Mess Kit
Night Tea (all doses)
Pot
Hemp Rope
Soap
10xTorches
2xTrail Rations
That leaves me with an encumbrance of 57.3 and No Movement Penalty
Carrying only:
Backpack with Waterskin and 1 Ration
Beltpouch with my Coins
Holy Symbol of Erastil
Spell component Pouch
Masterwork Chain Shirt
Masterwork Buckler
Masterwork Longbow
arrows (29 normal, 5 silver, 6 +1)
Morningstar
After all, most of that stuff I'm leaving behind is only important when we travel. As of right now we are city based so it doesn't make sense to haul around everything we own. Now when I get my Efficient Quiver and Handy Haversack, that will change. And yes, those are clearly on the list to pick up at some point down the road.
Twilight. |
So, Pathfinder 2nd edition is happening.
Pathfinder 2e faq
Mirela Wintrish |
As I've said elsewhere, they are going to have to make some excellent changes to the game to convince me to switch. I've got a huge backlog of stuff I want to run in this edition as well as a bunch of stuff in 5E that I love, so... I'll be interested to see what they come up with, but I'm not holding my breath.
By the way Mirela is waiting for Nargun to post before she continues.
Mirela Wintrish |
@DoctorEvil. Is this whole chase considered one encounter?, Given the chase rules, this seems like it would be a good time to use a harrow point to increase ones speed by 10'. I assume, that's allowed right?
Mirela Wintrish |
Let me see if I have the rules right the two options to chase are:
I could do a standard action to tumble DC10 or Climb DC15 and then a move action to move one card if I succeed. Failure means I don't move.
OR
I can do a Full round action where I have to beat both obstacles (so tumble DC10 and Climb DC15, with the following results:
Passing both means move ahead 3 cards
passing 1 and failing 1 by Less then 5 means I move just like I did the standard/move
Passing 1 and failing by more then 5 means I don't move
Failing 2 means I fall.
Does that sound like I'm reading that correctly?
DM DoctorEvil |
Sounds about right. You can also take non-chase related standard actions like casting a spell, making a ranged attack etc. Remember you get a bonus or penalty if your base speed is higher or lower than 30'.
Since no one has posted yet, I am mixing up the order a bit, so the second card may not be crumbling roof, but it's in the mix somewhere.
Yes, the chase is one encounter, so if you choose to burn a Harrow point to buff up, that's what they are for. You begin to see why this chapter of the AP, including the Harrow Point buffs, focuses on DEX based skills.
DM DoctorEvil |
Ok, I linked the "map" of the Shingle Chase at top margin. You should be able to view only. If this works right, you should also be able to see your icon (and Trinia's) on a space. The lines on the spreadsheet equate to cards or squares for chase rules.
Nargun is up first, probably with a move penalty on any checks.
Remember you make the check to LEAVE the card, so you all start on card 1.
