Galean "Rafter" Santiago |

Oh, I didn't realize the crabs reacted.
Galean continues his rather uneffective cutlass swinging rampage at the crabs. Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 His cutlass clangs on the crab's thick hide, and he swears profoundly. "Just. Die. Already!"

DM Davy Jones |

...
Maintain Grab: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Constrict: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
The other crab meanwhile has woken up (I cannot believe this) and is now moving to continue its assault on the hapless druid.
Attack (Claw): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
It fails to land a blow.

Ayre |

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17 Ayre summons up the power of the sea and sends a blast of water at the recently awoken crab pushing it back 5 or 10 feet depends on cmd trying to make it harder for it to full attack.
hydraulic push

Yuki Okano |

Feeling herself on the verge of unconsciousness, Yuki makes one more attempt to slash at the crab before passing out.
Shortsword: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Now at -1 HP

Nymph |

HP: 16/26
Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (6) + 4 - 1 = 9

Ayre |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

so should we all create new characters that are prisoners on the island?

DM Davy Jones |

Sadly leaning that way. This is sort of ridiculous. Everyone burn some dice for me, then roll your attacks.

Nymph |

Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (11) + 4 - 1 = 14
Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 4 - 1 = 23
Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 4 - 1 = 4
Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 4 - 1 = 21
Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (4) + 4 - 1 = 7

DM Davy Jones |

I meant something like this.
100d20 ⇒ (1, 18, 6, 9, 11, 15, 11, 18, 2, 13, 19, 2, 10, 17, 8, 11, 1, 14, 12, 17, 15, 16, 9, 3, 8, 4, 18, 18, 8, 12, 4, 8, 8, 15, 10, 15, 20, 12, 11, 9, 5, 18, 19, 4, 3, 15, 9, 18, 15, 3, 16, 2, 13, 10, 16, 7, 18, 11, 4, 2, 2, 12, 11, 12, 7, 13, 20, 19, 8, 4, 7, 5, 6, 11, 5, 3, 2, 13, 3, 8, 9, 8, 4, 10, 20, 9, 5, 6, 11, 7, 3, 19, 18, 9, 8, 9, 12, 14, 3, 4) = 1005

Nymph |

Ah...

Galean "Rafter" Santiago |

100d20 ⇒ (20, 9, 7, 11, 19, 10, 19, 15, 8, 18, 10, 17, 17, 11, 9, 13, 8, 4, 8, 16, 5, 20, 20, 4, 7, 17, 12, 7, 16, 5, 4, 19, 7, 13, 11, 4, 17, 13, 2, 17, 12, 2, 14, 9, 8, 9, 15, 14, 4, 9, 15, 13, 18, 18, 6, 18, 19, 6, 8, 17, 6, 1, 13, 18, 17, 20, 2, 13, 13, 6, 5, 7, 18, 4, 7, 3, 18, 7, 5, 8, 17, 13, 12, 4, 15, 16, 10, 9, 5, 7, 19, 19, 6, 3, 6, 12, 9, 17, 5, 16) = 1114
Galean decides to seize the needless combat. There's always a bigger crab. He drops his cutlass, drops to knee-level, and looks at the crabs, pretending to be a terrifying crustacean.
"Click-a-clack-a-clicka!" he shouts, channeling the might of the emperor crab.
Wild Empathy to Intimidate, no size bonus added.: 1d20 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (12) + 3 - 1 = 14 attempting to make the crabs flee.

DM Davy Jones |

Galean successfully shakes the crabs, but they don't run away. One turns from the dying Yuki to attack Nymph.
Attack (Claws): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Attack (Claws): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
They fail to connect.
Go!

Nymph |

Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (5) + 4 - 1 = 8
...

DM Davy Jones |

...
OK, if everyone agrees to lose 3 hit points (except Yuki) I will end the combat with you all victorious. Because mercy.

Nymph |

Deal. HP: 13/26

Galean "Rafter" Santiago |

Yes, please. I don't know what was wrong with these crabs, how much HP did they have?
After standing up as the combat ends, Galean looks at everyone else with wide-eyes and mutters, "We're never going to mention this again."

Nymph |

Nymph hurriedly nods in agreement with the Druid.

Ayre |

I am completely tapped out on magic for today, I suggest we find a place and rest.

Nymph |

Nodding to the wizard as well Nymph moves over and scoops up the unconscious oracle. "Were to then?"

Ayre |

all of the above. I am not sure what my using heal can do...since he she is stable. Does anyone have a wand? Otherwise I can prepare infernal healing for tomorrow
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16 heal

Galean "Rafter" Santiago |

Galean reaches in his pocket and finds 2d4 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6 Goodberries. Sharing a couple with Yuki.
That's me out of spells as well.
"I say we head to find a safe place for the night. I wouldn't like to see any of... them... ever."
Galean begins studying the shore, attempting to find a suitable cavern or a shelter to go through the night.
Survival: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26

DM Davy Jones |

While there aren't any caves, unless you want to travel inland into the mountains back near the edge of the swamp, you do find a nice copse of palm trees away from the beach you can hole up. Someone can even climb the trees to keep watch.

Yuki Okano |

For the next time Yuki goes under, I believe you can retry Heal checks until you succeed.
Awoken by one of Galean's berries, Yuki looks around with confusion, then asks "Ah man, did giant crabs really almost kill us?" Without waiting for a response, she pops the other berry Galean offers her, then casts a healing spell on herself.
CLW on Yuki: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
"Much better!" She says with more cheer and vigor, "How bad is everyone else hurt? Who needs it the most?"
"Oh hey, where are we now anyway? We should probably keep moving once I heal everyone, we only have two days after all."

Nymph |

I'm at half 13/26
Nymph morosely raises her hand up when Yuki makes a headcount.

DM Davy Jones |

You have, in my estimate, 42 hours left. It might be useful to rest 8 hours and regain spells, but that is entirely up to you.

Yuki Okano |

Yuki casts another healing spell, this time on Nymph.
CLW on Nymph: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
"Well, if we need a short while for Ayre to be able to cast more spells, I guess it would be ok to rest."
Unless someone else needs serious healing, Yuki will just conserve her last two spells since it has to be 24 hours before she gets more. Unless, of course, 8 hours later will be 24 hours from the last time they regenerated.

Galean "Rafter" Santiago |

Galean hands the others the remaining berries, and lies down on the sand, definitely not thinking about vicious crab attacks in the night. "Take a break, and we'll get back to it tomorrow. Damn... unmentionables."

DM Davy Jones |

Because the DM did grin, and in his mercy did smile upon the oracle/fighter, I will allow you, this once, to reset your spells via a rest. This mercy shalt not continue on to the second time, and a third time is right out.

Yuki Okano |

I won't look a Monty Python reference in the mouth, or something.
Yuki casts Cure Light Wounds on Nymph again, then again on herself settling down.
CLW on Nymph: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
CLW on Yuki: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
"Ok we should set watches. Maybe Galen first, Nymph second, me third?"

Nymph |

Silent mouthing a thank you to Yuki for keeping her alive Nymph nods in agreement for the watch schedule.

DM Davy Jones |

Clearly Ayre is useless!
Everyone make a Perception check for me on your watch rotation.

Galean "Rafter" Santiago |

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Galean sits quietly on the beach, contemplating on the nature of the sea. Upon realizing, that, in general, it's big and scary, he turns his attention to the mainland.

Nymph |

Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31+2 if opposed vs Humans.
Still sulking Nymph rests in the shallows, letting the ocean's embrace try and calm her.

Ayre |

I shall go last so I can prepare my spells. If only we had more power.
dm can we have a level?

Yuki Okano |

Yuki's Eagle Eyes: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
The Oracle busies herself by dropping rocks and watching them fly 10 feet in random directions thanks to her ghostly ancestors.

DM Davy Jones |

Fun fact: you actually beat the entire Adventure Path at Level 6, so you don't get to level 3 until Book 4.
