Rise of the Runelords Pt2|RotRL Pt 3| Giantslayer|Emerald Spire| CORE Emerald Spire

Jarrek, you're getting ahead of yourself unless you can inspire courage out of turn.

Round 1 (ongoing):

Initiative order
Seamus-acted
Kronug-acted
Wolves-acted
Haftor
Jarrek-acted
Trianne
Grenseldek

The wolves bound forward towards Kronug. As they close, he realizes that they're wearing armor, and his readied strike glances off of it. Their luck is similarly bad, as he dodges their slavering jaws.

Now Jarrek can inspire courage, and Haftor & Trianne are up!

Dice rolls:
Bites: 2d20 ⇒ (17, 17) = 34

Grenseldek: AC ? T ? FF ? HP taken: 0
Wolves: AC 18 T ? FF ? HP taken - Black: 0 White: 0

Male Dwarf Warpriest 6, Orc Hewer (AC: 22 [26 against monsters of the giant subtype], HP: 56/60) Giants Slain: Cave Giant x1, Hill Giant x3, Hill Giant Skeleton x1, Marsh Giant x1

Jarrek wants to go into the room and then move to the right to give me space to enter the room as well. Whether he is able to or not is going to significantly impact my actions.

Looking at the map it doesn't seem like there's space for Jarrek to the right inside the door. Looks like there's only enough space for 1 PC next to Kronug, and J goes after Haftor.

Male Dwarf Warpriest 6, Orc Hewer (AC: 22 [26 against monsters of the giant subtype], HP: 56/60) Giants Slain: Cave Giant x1, Hill Giant x3, Hill Giant Skeleton x1, Marsh Giant x1

Ah, I see. Then I will delay until after Grenseldek's turn. I have some options I might go with depending on what everyone does.

I didn't, but hadn't really thought about it at all either. I can certainly!

I had the one dire wolf slightly off-grid, and have corrected that. Although it will mean a potential AoO, Jarrek could get into the room. Where are people going?

Male Dwarf Warpriest 6, Orc Hewer (AC: 22 [26 against monsters of the giant subtype], HP: 56/60) Giants Slain: Cave Giant x1, Hill Giant x3, Hill Giant Skeleton x1, Marsh Giant x1

I'm sticking with the plan to delay. If Jarrek doesn't want to soak up an AoO, I can push in instead. If he does go in, I can potentially heal from the doorway as they hack at the doggies.

Male Half-Orc Bard (Arcane Duelist)/Oracle (Lore) 5/1 [HP: 47/47 | AC:23 | T:14 | FF:19 | CMB:+8 | CMD:22 | Fort:+5 | Ref:+9 | Will:+6 | Init:+0 | Perc:+0 (Darkvision) | Spd 20]

OK, I was thinking H would take the square next to K. If H isn't going in, J will.

"C'mere, puppy, let me give you a pat on the head!" Jarrek ducked around the doorway to ward Kronug's flank from the wolf on the right.

Acrobatics to avoid AoO?: 1d20 ⇒ 11 Yeah, probably not.

Begin Inspire Courage (1/13) for party, +2 to atk/dmg (competence) and charm/fear (morale); Move to square adjacent to Kronug.

Trianne motions to Haftor to see if he wants magically enlarged and turns her attention elsewhere when he defers. Scuttling forward, she begins casting as she moves. She leans across the doorway and reaches for Jarrek.

“Defense incoming, Jarrek,” she whispers to him. As she completes her spell, her arm blurs in discomforting distortion, and the effect races across Jarrek as soon as her fingers touch him.

Delay until after Trienne goes. Haste would be great but if she has a better option feel free to use it.

Just to clarify, Jarrek. Haste only grants an additional attack if you take the Full Attack full round action. So 5' step is your only move option, but if the wolf goes down in one, you can step up and crack the giant with attack #2.

The wolf is still standing after the first attack.

Male Gnome Alchemist (Trap Breaker) 5: HP 22/ 30: AC: 18, T 14, FF 15 AFFECT:

Should Add that's 10 splash fire damage on the adjacent wolf unless if makes a DC 17 reflex save. I forgot about this last round, so that's on me. Exclude Jarrek and Haftor from the bomb blast area.

Rise of the Runelords Pt2|RotRL Pt 3| Giantslayer|Emerald Spire| CORE Emerald Spire

The wolf took splash damage from Seamus' bomb last round.

Jarrek's falchion rises and falls twice, and the last wolf goes down. Kronug steps up and cuts at the giant, his blade leaving terrible wounds on her, but it doesn't seem to have slowed her down. Seamus hurls a pair of bombs at her, and although the second one hits the first one somehow slips from his hand and lands next to Jarrek.

Because it's a miss, I'm going to say that the precise bombs feature won't work--Seamus didn't anticipate where it was going to land, so he couldn't choose to exclude anyone from it. So Kronug and Jarrek, DC 17 Reflex saves or take 10 HP fire damage.

Grenseldek swings three times at Kronug again, but her luck seems to have run out--she hits him only once for 15 HP. A 1 and a 2 for her better attacks--kind of pathetic, really.

At this point, minimum damage from either Jarrek or Kronug will kill her, so I'm going to call it. Out of combat!

On her person you find a pair of handaxes, one masterwork and one +2. Her scale mail is also enchanted to +1; she has a potion of cure serious wounds as well, and a masterwork composite longbow that none of you have the strength to wield effectively (sized for a Large individual, and +9 STR). Finally, she carries the other half of the geode treasure map.

The room itself appears to have recently undergone a renovation. A broken wall partially blocks a dark alcove to the northwest, surrounded by broken bricks and scattered debris. A circular niche on the opposite side of the room to the southeast holds a raised table. In the center of the room, three beds have been crammed together beneath a single huge bearskin bedspread. South of the beds, a massive floor-to-ceiling mirror stands against the wall, and a large dust-covered armoire hunkers between two sets of doors along the northeast wall.

Haftor points to the NW wall. "This broken wall was built more recently than the rest of the room. Let's tear it apart, shall we?"

He uses his Crafter's Wrath Blessing on his hammer to ignore hardness and take the newer wall apart, looking see see if there's any hidden parts of the alcove, etc.

"Of course, Haftor! Praise to Torag! I was just saying the new guy is nice to have around." Jarrek laughs and slides his falchion back into its scabbard, just to pull out the axe on his back. "Let's see what's behind there!"

He will help demolish the wall.
