I'll be on vacation and pretty much off the grid for the next couple of weeks, and then at a conference for most of the week following. I'll try to get this moving again after that--have also been distracted by a couple of people unsuccessfully trying to electrocute themselves at work, which has led to a major work stoppage.

Svarog Sky-Tamer |

Pretty sure this game is dead. :(

DM Carbide |

I have to apologize for that...the month or two before my vacation, I was being distracted by a lot of issues at work, and my GMing was (IMO) suffering because of it. I made a couple of glaring rules errors in another game, while in this one I started the chase without really thinking through how I was going to handle it. I still don't have a good idea of where to go with the chase--that makes it hard to motivate to come back.
Hm. Would you mind a do-over on that, and just say you got back to town without incident?

Svarog Sky-Tamer |

Sure, that's fine with me.

Svarog Sky-Tamer |

I'll be traveling and unable to post this weekend, at least on Sunday. Packing and cleaning before that, so it might be spotty until next week.

DM Carbide |

Under the circumstances, it would be rude and more than a bit hypocritical for me to complain. Safe travels!

Trianne Ashton |

Hi, folks! John green-lighted me to post, and I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Scott, and I’ll be bringing a wizard named Trianne into the mix. I’m a long time gamer, and some of you know me from other venues. The Paizo PBP forums are brand spankin’ new to me however, so I cast myself on your mercy initially. Please feel free to question, comment, or offer up tidbits as I get my feet under me.
Thanks for having me, and I look forward to seeing where the story goes!

DM Carbide |

We may have one more joining us as well, though I haven't heard from that one since before the hiatus.

Svarog Sky-Tamer |

He's been missing from all his games for a while. I hope he's okay.

DM Carbide |

I'm thinking that given Trianne's background and motivation, having her be acquainted with Kira is probably the best way to get her into the party. Trianne has consulted with the alchemist on the best ways to preserve giant blood (ye olde vacutainers being Right Out, but alchemical heparin being a possibility), and Kira is aware that the wizard is at least moderately competent. Sound reasonable?

Trianne Ashton |

That certainly seems a viable approach. New to the area, Trianne could have needed some time to get acquainted with her surroundings and flesh out the other leads she had come across. Finding many of them less than promising, she could now be seeking out Kira as her best chance at a road toward achieving her goals.

DM Carbide |

Just waiting for Kira to sound off before I commit her to something.

DM Carbide |

I emailed Jarrek's player, but have not heard back. If he doesn't reply in the next day or so I'll run out the return to the Plague House without him.

Jarrek Everstand |

I need to apologize. I've been overseas every other week for work since July. I was hoping to be able to keep up with the game but didn't even have the energy to check my personal email for the past few months. That part phase of the project is done now and I am back to a normal schedule again starting this week.
I would really like to continue in the game if you'll still have me.

DM Carbide |

Glad to hear that you're OK, Jarrek. I have no objections, though it may be a day or two before I can get back to this. (No overseas trips, but a lot of different little things to do at work.)

Jarrek Everstand |

I updated the loot list with the stuff from the gelatinous cube and the locked chest. We've got a wand, a potion, and 3 magic scrolls that need identifying. There's also a MW longsword that's unclaimed on the list.
DM, a couple things:
-Is the "well-made chain shirt" MW?
-How much is the empty gold coffer studded with gems worth?

DM Carbide |

A heads-up for everyone--my work finally got around to blocking the rest of the Paizo site, so I no longer have access to the boards during workdays. Although I can still post from my phone, it's a right pain these days with the Wayfinder app not working. So I'm going to be much slower posting, I'm afraid.
Jarrek, the chain shirt is indeed masterwork. The coffer is worth 500 gp.

Svarog Sky-Tamer |

Let's hope this gets through: thanks to the new code on the boards, I'm having a bit of trouble posting. Just wanted to let you know that I'm still here.
Jarrek, I think Svarog took the MW sword. He'll take the chain shirt too if no one else wants it. I didn't log it in the loot list in case someone does want it.

Jarrek Everstand |

That's really annoying, DM. It's weird they'd block a commerce site, but what are you gonna do.
I'll mark the longsword and shirt for Svarog.
Even from just straight treasure, not trying to sell looted gear or anything, we've got a decent haul for not having fought anything worse than a gelatinous cube.

DM Carbide |

I work for a US Federal contractor, though, and if they had the IT resources to swing it they'd run web access on a whitelist basis--default to blocking everything outside of .gov and maybe .edu, and then make us justify any other sites we want to connect to.
So I was off at an SF con weekend before last, was trying to wrap up the one game I ran for Game Day 6 before last Friday, and that's also when my wife and I celebrated our 27th anniversary. I haven't had much time for the boards lately, though I hope that things will settle a bit after US Thanksgiving.

DM Carbide |

Latest delay engendered by a small fire at work last week. Unfortunately, it happened less than two weeks after a small fire in another building, and since both fires had causes that sounded similar on paper I've been having to deal with investigation and organizing cleanup. Luckily no one was hurt or contaminated.

DM Carbide |

I may have some time to post tomorrow, but after that I'll be extremely intermittent until the 27th or so. I wish you all a fine holiday, whatever you celebrate.

Svarog Sky-Tamer |

A bit late to the season's greetings, but I wish you all a great holiday as well!

Svarog Sky-Tamer |

Why do I suspect that "subtle elbow nudges" from Haftor are going to leave a few bruises? ;)
Happy New Year, everyone!

Trianne Ashton |

Being my first time in the Plague House (and potentially combat here!), I'm having a little trouble translating what is written for PC movement onto the existing map. So, a couple of questions:
1. I gather the meditation room is the central one, yes?
2. Is the convention for players to move their markers at all, or is that solely something which John manages?
I'm happy to write some of Trianne's befuddlement in character. I just don't want to mis-write anything due to player misperception. Thankya for any clarity!
Oh and best holiday wishes to you all! :)

Svarog Sky-Tamer |

Get well soon, Kira!

DM Carbide |

Trianne--I move the counters to set up, and then when you're in combat you move your own counter.
My sympathies, Kira. I had something like that after Thanksgiving, albeit milder.

Svarog Sky-Tamer |

I'll be traveling Monday and will be unable to respond.

DM Carbide |

Work has been massively busy the past week or so, but hopefully things will settle down the next couple of days.

Jarrek Everstand |

Wow. Is it just me or is there no way to get directly to the game forums anymore? I had to click on my profile to get to my campaigns. This new layout is going to take some getting used to.

Svarog Sky-Tamer |

Boo for change! It's... it's... it's UN-DWARFLIKE!

DM Carbide |

I had to update the bookmark for online campaigns, and the Messageboards link still took me to the main page this morning. My Campaigns tab still works, though.

DM Carbide |

I tried PMing Kira, but haven't heard back from her yet. She'll continue to hold for now.
