About Svarog Sky-Tamer

Svarog Sky-Tamer
male Kellid ranger 5 CN
hgt: 6’8 wgt: 200 lbs
eyes: pale blue
hair: dark brown
age: 22

Unlike most Kellids, Svarog sports a dark beard, greying early as his people often do, which makes him seem older than his years. His pale blue eyes are forever alert, scanning for danger, and he does not smile readily. Kitted in chain and carrying both bow and blade, he carries two quivers, one on his back and the other at his hip. His pack is heavily laden with explorer's gear, all of it well-used but in good order. He stalks the towns and wilderness with a determined self-sufficiency. His lone adornment is a signet ring, glinting red and silver, that proclaims him a friend of the dwarves.

Thoroughly pragmatic and unsentimental, but trusts dwarves - to a point. Pays fealty to no god, but honors the spirits of the living world. Values his freedom above all things, and to a lesser degree, the freedom of those who have earned his approval, usually through their own resoluteness.

Svarog was born in the Mindspin Mountains, in the Hold of Belkzen. He and his tribe had always had cause to hate the orcs that raided their cliffside camps, but when he was 15, Svarog's struggle with one of them during a counter-raid in aid of a beleaguered dwarven caravan caused him to fall down the side of the mountain. The orc didn't survive, but Svarog's leg was badly wounded, and he was unable to move on with the nomadic tribe.

Instead, he was taken in by the dwarves, whose caravan the tribe had aided against the raiders. His leg healed, and he trained with their own fighters in the traditions of orc and giant combat. Compared to these regimented warriors, his tribe had only boasted amateurs. Five years he learned from them and guarded them, before finally parting ways with them when one of their caravans left for Trunau.

Impressed with the determination of the residents of Trunau, he made the town his base as he earned a living as a scout, a woodsman, and a mercenary.

Sentient Companions: a sentient companion (a creature that can understand language and has an Intelligence score of at least 3) is considered your ally and obeys your suggestions and orders to the best of its ability. It won’t necessarily blindly follow a suicidal order, but it has your interests at heart and does what it can to keep you alive. Paladin bonded mounts, familiars, and cohorts fall into this category, and are usually player-controlled companions.

Link (Ex)

A druid can handle her animal companion as a free action, or push it as a move action, even if she doesn’t have any ranks in the Handle Animal skill. The druid gains a +4 circumstance bonus on all wild empathy checks and Handle Animal checks made regarding an animal companion.

Share Spells (Ex)

The druid may cast a spell with a target of “You” on her animal companion (as a touch range spell) instead of on herself. A druid may cast spells on her animal companion even if the spells normally do not affect creatures of the companion’s type (animal). Spells cast in this way must come from a class that grants an animal companion. This ability does not allow the animal to share abilities that are not spells, even if they function like spells.
