In this PbP: My GM knows my characters goals better than I do. Holy s&$$. That's so obvious- -and never crossed my mind.
I hope it works.

I think Ariana is going to have to find ways to go hunting up north soon.

Do they need fire up there? Aikio the Red will go with you :)
Hey all, I can't reach internet from my phone without it opening to a page saying 'click to win an I-phone'. Since I won't click OK (its a trap!) I am unable to lurk. It is also the time of year where I spend ALL day at my day job.
I will be back to posting normally next Tuesday, but it will be sporadic until then. Thank you for your patience.

![]() |

I have family visiting through Sunday. I should be able to post daily, but it will probably be late Pacific time before I get to it. Please feel free to bot if needed.

I can't wait to finish this adventure and peek at what everyone else is seeing.

As far as I'm concerned, if others are ok with you looking, than I don't mind. I did try to insert a few small easter eggs into most, but th may not be apparent, but in all honesty, I pretty much made everything up. I figure if you like it, you can use it, and if not, it's something you then have a reason to work to make sure it doesn't come to be. Well, before <something> happens, anyway.

Ok folks, we are getting close to the end, so I figure now is a good time to repost all the information for Reporting and Chronicle Sheets, and also to take a look back at different items people purchased and need noted.
I hope you have enjoyed this one so far, and if you have not, perhaps some things might come back and make a bit more sense down the road for some of you. AND WE ARE NOT DONE YET.
Additionally, I'll go ahead and do the Boon Roll-Off, with either a Natural 20 or16 winning something.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to give a head's up, I'll be away Fri and Sat for my grandparent's funerals. I do not believe I will have internet access most of the time, and likely will not be able to post, or check the game during that time. Please feel free to RP a little to help pass the time.
Also, just in case, I've been dealing with a lot of games, if there are any questions I missed or didn't answer fully, or if you have any questions about the set up, feel free to ask and I will get to it.
Just a head's up, Diri's Spell does not help her or others to pass the invisible barrier. There where, however, some clues that I think only some people got (checks) and might not have shared that might make things little more clear. Additionally, if I wasn't clear on it, healing the Azata nearly completely sealed many of his wounds, though he remained out. (nudge, nudge, needs just a little more to get positive).

Firstly, sorry for your loss. Condolences to you and your family. Take all the time you need.

![]() |

Best wishes to your family Beckett.

![]() |

I'm sorry for your loss, Beckett. Best wishes to you and your family.

![]() |

Thank you all for your well wishes. I was deployed when my grandmother passes, and it was nice to actually be able to be there for both of their funerals now.

![]() |

Im really reticent to allow a Know check, for a few reasons. Its a unique creature that has further been modified to make it even more unigue, so technically you can make a check, but the DC I believe is in the mid to high 30's.
The other issue is that the scenario is kind of, unofficially built around the idea that both the Shattered God and Valais, (which are different mechanically) are an unknown. You do find out afterwards more, but its intentional that its kept as a reward for the end.
The other aspect is that part of his uniqueness comes from his Frankenstein nature, which doesn't really translate too well to what your characters can easily see or identify, because not all of the adpects are visible, (on the outside).
He doesn't have any particular weaknesses, though he does have minor strengths which will come out as you actually interact with him, (Ive hinted at 3 already).

![]() |

That's pretty reasonable. Diri wishes she had time to take notes instead of fighting.

![]() |

Just for the record, we are basically done. There are a few RP elements left, and some choices, but if anyone needs their character freed up, let me know.

![]() |

Thanks for running! This was quite a bit of fun.
And anyone who is willing to put up with Diri is a good GM in my book.)
I would be happy to play at another table you run in the future.

![]() |

No complaints with you, but just some minor stuff with the scenario. I have no issue with scenarios not being combat focused, but the combats that were there just seemed non threatening. Especially the final battle, it seemed pretty anticlimactic. I would expect something more challenging from a demon that is part god. Besides the cobats, I thought it was a really interesting story and I enjoyed it.

![]() |

Well, a part of that is because I was sort of bound by his tactics, and because no one really did anything that would cause him to act, such as take the staff, he just sat there and waited. His entire goal here as to have someone remove the staff from the circle for him.
But, it's also really hard to challenge an archer in combat when your first action took about 90% of his HP right of the bat, (you did 111 damage in the first attack round). And over half the party has pets, 1 vs 12 (or even 10) is kind of rediculous. I struggled because one of the arrows was close to missing, but in the end, didn't want to cheat.

![]() |

The game was great DM Beckett !
Having GM the scenario a lot at GenCon you've done a great job.
The only thing I could say is about some minor rules during the fights you may have done not right.
All in all, I've enjoyed the story you have tell us, which is the good way to do it :)
My Chronicle is ok, thanks !

![]() |

DM Beckett, as always, I liked so much your way to run the game! And I'm waiting for new invitations... * cof, cof *
About the scenario, I agree with Rilas, the combats that were there just seemed non threatening, specially the final battle. On the other hand, the story was really, really nice, I liked it so much.
That's it! Thank you all for the game, guys. I hope see you soon. :)

![]() |

Once the game day is over, Ill throw out some game invites, but right now Im a little overbooked for what I can reasonably handle. Ive noticed that, between work throwing me unexpected issues, (im in the military), and running more than 2 or 3 games at once tends to lessen how much I can personalize or run well.
@ Albert, I sent you a pm, just asking for more, but I didnt want you to feel I was putting you on the spot.

![]() |

I'm pretty okay with combats being quick, smooth, and non-challenging (especially in PbP). More time to do the rest of the stuff.
And now that Diri knows she'll be able to cure the Bleaching(!), all she has to do is figure out how. Work to do!
