Zhi probably isn't aware of any of this, but ...
I would be surprised if the Calistrians did weddings at all. According to current canon, the Calistrian view of 'Love' in the first place is that it's a hindrance more than anything.
In regards to a betrayal ...
*shudder*
I really hope that's not where this is headed.

"Going Galt" is uh, it's not a path I've thought about, but I like it. A large part of Sara in regards to alignment is I'm honestly trying to keep her at TN, maybe going north to NG, but deferring to both Order and Change throughout. She's made significant strides toward Chaos this book, with her new anarchist beliefs, but she's fighting not to eradicate government or even put in place a new one but to ensure that the current government remains in power while changing and improving, which I think is a Lawful cause.
As far as deposing the Princess, the only hope she sees for the country is the Princess (although that path to change is only available because of the Senate murders). As long as we're all working to put the Princess on the throne and allow change to occur, Sara's not going to stray from the present course.
But it's certainly possible.

This is from an older article:
"The church puts little stock in the formalities of marriage. While it serves a valuable function in society, most of the worshipers don’t have a strong urge to settle down with one person (especially given elven longevity) and they usually don’t confuse physical attraction with emotional affection (which is seen as a weakness by members of most non-good churches). The faithful consider any relationship that lasts more than a few months to be a “marriage,” though this confers no legal rights. Ending a relationship has no stigma, though these ends are often the start of long feuds if one person feels slighted. Some do see the appeal of long, committed relationships, though even these tend to be tolerant of other partners or even polyandrous or polygynous. Lacking the weight of law in their relationships, most expect inheritance and similar matters to go to blood relatives rather than the mutable, tenuous passionate relationship."

Zileska's personal take is that two (or more) people have entangled their passions and happen to be on matching trajectories, and a wedding is simply a social occasion to let people drink and celebrate and tell outsiders "Watch out! If you piss off one of these people, you better be ready to deal with the other one."
Also, insert snide jabs about Abadaran contracts and how they are really just men treating women as chattel.
Re: Galt-ing it up, while that might be an interesting twist, it's not the AP for which I signed on. :/

Rather than out back with fists and daggers? :)
I was sounding Sara out on that one with the 'civics' talk tbh. Melodie (representing the 'current order' as she does) has some serious ethical issues with the Night Swan, she's currently working very much on an 'enemy of my enemy' principle - and of course she trusts Sara.
Besides, if Sara starts going full Galt, then Melodie can go full Mesmerist and 're-program' her! :) Besides, that would involve doing mean things to Malphene and Sara likes that b*tch too much for that right? ;)

If Sara went full Galt, she would form a list of y/n for execution, and knights (such as Zhi, the Crabbes and Malphene) by and large wouldn't qualify for consideration (though they would still be expected to flee or part with the majority of their wealth and landings). She'd the start the kill-list at Lords/Ladies and work her way up, but Melodie (and Zhi, after marriage) would be safe from that list.

You got engaged at Zileska's party, right? Sara 100% left that early
Sara might not have attended at all, otherwise, even if it was your birthday, cause I think I didn't post during that

If it was before Zileska's party, then Maria may still have been too shaken up by the General to feel like attending. Although I imagine Sandra or any of Maria's other agents in town caught wind and passed word along.

For reference with Kara's appearance; imagine a seven-foot-tall half-orc whose player managed to roll 18s for Strength, Constitution, and Charisma. Those aren't her stats, that's just how she looks: big, strong, hot, and knows it. I'd be surprised if Sara wasn't drooling. :P

Ok DM, I don't know how much you want to handwave the actual questions for the decedent. Zileska is no dummy, she is aware of the limitations of her own spells, and with a 17 Wisdom she is pretty good at figuring out the problems in speak with dead.
The main hurdle I see is, if we just ask "Who killed you?" and he was killed by the mule by surprise or from behind, then he will just say "I don't know" and that won't help at all.
Did my Heal examination determine if the blow struck him while his back was turned? Is that level of CSI possible with the nonmagical techniques we have available?
If he didn't see the attack coming from the mule, then a better question might be "where were you and what were you doing at the time of your death."

Sara really wanted Zhi to be one of the people talking to the Baron. In spite of her misgivings, Zhi acquiesced.
Zhi would recommend Maria joining Sara. We don't know how many people they'll be facing there. Although she still doesn't like the idea of the Ladies of Betony being associated with that mission. She'll offer up her Hat of Disguise so they each can assume a different/concealed appearance.

Hopefully there's not a lab requirement as well.
Zhi's head is about to explode now, but I know Melodie will have questions for Zileska as well - and words for Zhi at the very least. So I'll wait until she gets a chance to catch up before pushing on.
Yeah, Zhi's gonna pay for this later. ;)
