Nico will put a couple of ranks into Knowledge (engineering) as he levels so that, once he eventually gets Wall of Stone and Stone Shape, we can make some simple bridges as needed.

Just so it's not a surprise to Durielle-player: Marisol's hesitation about her family name is not because she's taking Vlad's name, it's because the Surtova name has a lot of baggage attached and she doesn't know Jhod well enough to give that out yet in addition to being clearly a dhampir. She looked to Vlad for confirmation on holding that back because he's the one who knows Jhod.

Watch shifts have just been chatty. Durielle has seen more of Marisol's "attributes" than Vlad! :P
It's almost like the Lawful Neutral types are duty bound to actually keep watch when they are on watch. ;)
None of Durielle and Marisol's chats occurred on watch! And no, they aren't nearly as racy as you are probably imagining!
I can't speak to Vlad's imagination, but I'm sure he can imagine a lot! :D

Nico is +9 on Knowledge (plains), and as a follower of Alseta has an interest in the topic which is reflected in that. I assumed this would be enough (with taking 10) to speculate about the First World. Of course, I have no idea if it's true, but speculating is fun!
I've always assumed that most information in the player's guide can be generally considered common knowledge to the characters. The guide does mention that a thinning of the barrier is rumored, so it isn't farfetched for Nico to have an inkling of it. :)

I honestly don't think I've ever known the current calendar date in this Kingmaker, but presumably we're entering early autumn based on the current weather descriptions which probably means we should be in Rova?

I'm certainly fine with either a trip back or retcon, although if we do a trip back I would just as soon advance the calendar appropriately and move on to hex D2.
If we choose the retcon route, Vlad would buy cold weather gear.
If we make a trip back, he would buy the cold weather gear and a medium tent.
Let's retcon it. Cold weather outfits are only 8 gp. I don't think a purchase that small is going to break anything we've done so far. And, it stands to reason we wouldn't leave in early Neth without the right gear.

FWIW, that is a real story from a game I was in many, many years ago, though somewhat condensed and with monsters more appropriate for Brevoy's climate.
