DM Beckett's PFS PbP 4-07 Severing Ties (Inactive)

Here is where I want to discuss the next PbP. Sorry, right now, seats are already filled. If you where asked to come here, you are in.

So, we have a few options. I am not really liking Season 6 so far, both for what we have so far, and also just because for out purposes, (time mainly), I just don't think it is going to work. Unfortunately, at least one player is also very limited on what they can still play. So, below, I have included a list of possible games that I'm willing to run.

I'd like for everyone I've talked to about this so far to come in, Introduce themselves a bit, and copy/past the list, removing everything that they can not play.

The next person to post, (please preview your post before submitting, just in case), please take their list, weed out what you can not play, and so on, and we will find something.

Also, I wanted to mention, because I am under a time limit of 1 month, this will be a fast paced game. That does not mean rushed, but it does mean please post at least once or twice a day, and also please be as proactive as you can when posting. (future games will not be so fast, but I want to get one more game in before I'm gone for a month+, and I do intend to do more when I get back).

Also, because I have been asked for a lower level game, I am only including 1st-5th and 3rd - 7th level Scenarios. I do not think I can do a Module in the time frame I have, and my goal is to complete the game, not to have everyone waiting around until I get back.

I've GMed Severing Ties 2 or 3 times already, just so you know. Also, I've heard The Merchant's Wake is a very heavy roleplaying scenario, so I'd rather hold it open for when an opportunity to play it tabletop reveals itself. But if it is the last choice, I'm up for it.

One thing I love about PbP and Online gaming is the opportunity to meet people from all over the world. :) It's kind of like Pokémon, (which I find extremely funny my spelling correction fixed for me), "Gotta catch them all. . . ha ha ha

Not a problem. Those are the type I'm trying to avoid, just because 1.) I don't think they do well in the PbP medium, and 2.) because of my time limit.

*** This was the end of the Lantern Lodge as a playable Faction. It gave a special reward to Lantern Lodge characters, but also required them to change Factions. It (the Boon), is no longer valid, but the rest of the Scenario and Chronicle Sheet are still ok. Having never played it, I can't actually say how good/bad the scenario itself is.

I have been talking to the 2 of the others and they say hall of the flesh eaters, and chris is still at ntc so i am seeing when he can get his character done.

Well nvm on hall of flesh eaters lol i think we can all do severing ties as well. we are looking for a 1 to something to play. BTW i am jimmy for Southern illinois in america and i will be playing thoril. He is a level 1 Titan Fighter, level 1 Blood Rager.

I'm okay running Severing Ties, but I do need everyone to understand that there is one point, fairly close to the beginning/middle, where it's very literally Save or Die, especially at Level 1. If everyone is okay with that, then I will run it.

I do want to point out that it is not permanent death, there is a way to recover at no cost, BUT, and please let Deussa agree or disagree on this part, it can very much leave one or more players left out of a good deal of the scenario based on a single roll.

I can play any of those except Wardstone patrol. I have a number of characters free. A few at level 3 or 4 that I'd be happy to play.

Hi I'm Jacob Ogden from Southern Illinois, I still consider myself rather new to Pathfinder but I do have some experience and feel I have caught on rather quick. I can play all but Library of the Lion and In Wrath's Shadows. Severing ties sounds good and challenging so it works for me. I plan on bringing a Lvl 2 Bloodrager/Rogue to the mix but do have other guys available.

This is the guy I plan to bring.

So, what levels are we looking at?

Looks like it's going to be tier 1-2. I'll ponder what character I'll sacrifice...

As a horrible auditer as I am, I looked at Thoril the Slayer. Both his traits aren't applicable to the character. Giant-Blooded isn't PFS legal, and Superior Clutch is only available to Hungerseed Tieflings. The latter's requirements, however, can be bypassed with the adopted trait.

Hi all! Lionel is a lvl 1 Cleric, focused on melee support. He's also Core Only. I'd like to apply if it's not too late. If it isn't Core Only, I'll humbly bow out and leave.

i took adopted just didnt put it on there i will now though and i didnt relize there where 2 trait sections when i was looking threw the book so assumed that it was legal thank you for the catch. i will update it now.

@ becket. i talked to chris he said his character wont take long to finish once he is home. he i asking if you have a time line in witch you want to start. i said prob mid next week as he wont be back till monday i think

This is Derek. I have to apply a third chronicle, and not completely sure on whether I keep this guy an Invuln. Rager or go vanilla barb. Will have ready by Tuesday at latest.

Because of my time limit, Chris is either going to have to join later or skip this one. After I hear back that Severing Ties is playable by one more, I'm going to go ahead and create the thread fully and get started.

Actually, minus Chris, that was it. So everyone is actually good with Severing Ties. It looks like Low Tier, but that could possibly change with what characters we have.

So, while everyone finishes up their characters and picks what they want to play, I'm going to work on opening up the thread.

I've almost finished up transporting the character from its original location.

Haven't chosen prepared spells yet.

I'll have to make a new character.. seeing as we are heavy on the fighters, i'll make a caster.

Of the 4 that you mentioned, i have played Severing Ties only.

Ok, I was thinking that was the one everyone was good with.

So everyone, please of these three, which I believe are the last options we have left, first make sure you can play them, and also please indicate which you would like to play.

Also, I should point out that all three of them are Tier 3rd-7th.

The only alternative I can think of is to play a Core Campaign game.

I could run an Investigator at level 3 for Storming the Diamond Gate, if there's room.

I have a level 3 monk, Level 4 Rouge and a level 6 witch in that case... sorry again everyone..

I can play a number of 3-7 characters including a rogue, Lore Warden wannabe duelist,wizard, or gunslinger.

I am down with Core too.

Top choice would be Diamond Gate.

For now, please focus one what scenario you can play rather than what characters. :)

I can do all but storming the diamond gate. would you be down for 2 tabes. if not its cool i know what you have ahead of you. if you did i would be down for both the one you have started and a 3-7 tier. I also have plenty that fall in the 3-7 tier

Yah, right now, in order to keep this game fast paced, I am only going to run one game.

Just double checked. I have played among the gods. With the wy it looks... Storming the Diamond Gate is out, which leaves Way of the Kirin..

If not, i can always bow out to let someone else who fits can play.

I've already stated what scenarios fit me, and as it looks right now, Way of the Kirin is the only available choice.

I have a variety of characters depending on tier. But knowing about Beckett's time limits, I propose the lower subtier and thus bring out...
