I'm pretty pumped to get my mits on that book. I doubt I'll be making any changes to either of my characters, but I could see the mooncaller or pack lord Druids possibly being a good fit for Wesh if they end up being worthwhile. I know Duron will most likely find some useful spells and feats and the like :)

I'll definitely take a look at the clerical archetypes, but my guess is none of them will be quite suitable for Verik - although I have some hopes for cloistered cleric. Probably be new spells though, the clerical spell-list could use some spicing up!
As for Wesh, well, he is already an archetype as a Lion Shaman, so its perhaps unlikely he will be able to fit in another.
Regarding the encounter are we actually sleeping for the night yet? I want to know if Verik has changed into his chainshirt pjs yet.

I did catch the GoT premeire and was also super impressed. My girlfriend who watched it with me and just finished reading the first book was super pissed that the wedding night scene with Dany/Drogo was way more rapey than in the books, but I think it made sense given how they couldn't really have filmed it as written and it also served the purpose of filling in a lot of her internal monologue later about how she hates her life (before she starts to like it).
Minor nitpicks aside though, I think they did a fantastic job and it will definitely prove to be the best fantasy tv series of all time (not that it has a lot of competition in that field). Did you hear they just announced they've renewed it for Season 2?

I am a bit confused by Taisper's auras that he sees, because I am pretty sure we have not met anything that would give off an aura yet. Probably not Orlivanch, and not the bugbears - except maybe the leader though I really doubt it.
To give off a faint aura a creature must have at least 5 HD unless it is either undead or an outsider.
Is this Taisper being crazy or do we have a rules misunderstanding?
Creature/Object Aura Power
None Faint Moderate Strong Overwhelming
Aligned creature1 (HD) 5 or lower 5-10 11-25 26-50 51 or higher
its in a table, there is an errata? next to part of it, but a search of the site quickly shows that this was because it was a change to 3.5 and Paizo intend the 5 or lower to be in place. This of course applies to all the detect alignment spells.

Is this Taisper being crazy or do we have a rules misunderstanding?
Just fluff. Taisper can't tell the difference between his (relatively) new Detect Alignment at-will ability and his own righteous and misguided convictions, so right now as far as he knows anyone he fights has an evil aura, and he doesn't know that the 'auras' he sees for most things are just in his head. Since we've not fought anything that is powerful enough to actually put out an aura for real, he has nothing to contradict his mistaken belief. He'll be in for a rude surprise, though, when that Sp finally works and shows an enemy to not be aligned as he thinks it is.

Tandlara |

I can't say I didn't see Taispars incredulity coming. I was wondering if anyone would launch a complaint over Tandlra suggesting we put them to sleep permanently.
Should be interesting, as far as Tandlara is concerned, bugbears deserve no mercy as bugbears. They hunt her people and where thier ears as trophies.
Interesting that the old trope playable race racism would come into it, I mean bugbears are evil, and mental, but is it okay to assume that? Where do you draw the line? Because its not like real life, almost all bugbears are serial killers by their very genes.
Should be an interesting conversation, but I hope the fight doesn't get too heated.

Taisper Stozs |

Actually, Taisper had no intention of bringing it up. Verik's SM check totally caught me by surprise. It also crushed my comparatively meager +6 to Bluff. :-(
I would also like to say that I think Charlie the Falcon should be a nominee for the group's mascot. He'd look great on a t-shirt.

I'm pretty much using my own view point as Verik here. Assuming Bugbears are unfamiliar, but all I've heard is that they are vicious killers. If we just met them I would be wary, but not instigate, if they attacked, no mercy - well not torture of anything, but I'm not going to try lugging a creature larger and stronger than me about especially if they outnumber us, etc.
Verik would have liked one temporarily spared for interrogation purposes, but did not think about that until after he was done healing everyone. If he can get one to talk - and he has that speak language spell prepared in case the flunkies don't speak common - then he would probably be against killing it, though only if he can come up with a practical option. Like getting it to negotiate and offer trade to its fellows if there is a settlement or tribe. Verik believes that even evil people ought to see the benefits of civilization if they only thought about it.

Isn't Reggie our mascot?
And yes Verik's Sense Motive is pretty impressive, and will grow more so as his wisdom, ranks, and silver tongued haggler increase. I really like Silver Tongued Haggler its not that good at the moment, but its a half your level - rounded down - bonus to bluff, diplomacy and sense motive. And Verik gets enough uses that he can use it on virtually every check. :)

Cool, cool. Right on. And see, this is exactly what Taisper was planning on happening. He figured "oh the sleeping one will be made to stand trial," so then when it got axed, he was completely flabbergasted.
Taisper just thinks it's awfully convenient that Berrin gets to slaughter a sleeping innocent with no consequence while he got put through the wringer. Everyone seems really blase about it, in his eyes, which is frustrating for him since he's trying so hard now to play by "the rules," which he doesn't really understand to begin with, and which now suddenly seem even more complicated.
Paranoid delusions of persecution? Oh you betcha.
Also, to be fair, if Taisper had heard Jemini trying to make Berrin stop, that would have changed a LOT, but I'm assuming since Berrin couldn't hear it, nor could Taisper.

I enjoyed it, was last year I think they showed it over here, but a good version - much better than the other Terry Pratchett adaptions. The lead actor is great, he was the brightest point in Coupling - a comedy series - and has had some good rolls since. I really hope they do the other Moist Von Lipwig books with him.
Have you seen the Color of Magic one with David Jason btw Berrin? Decent you can find it here in case you have not... The Color of Magic. And Part 2

Yup. Seen it, and now... watching it again :D thanks!
Here's to the best Play-by-Post group in the entire boards!
Cheers!
