Llyra Bjorgan |

Something tells me that the gardener is another Rakshasa. Keep your eyes open.
I cast Detect Magic and begin scanning - although I figure that everything is magic. I am really searching for the unusual - illusions, wards, alarms, etc.

Jerin |

Jerin casts a couple of spells before entering the opening. His extended Mage Armor duration 18 hours. He also casts a Fly - duration 18 minutes through his rod of lesser extend since he doesn't trust the rope bridges. He will save all of his other spells for the moment.
Also Jerin casts a Heroism on Krenn, duration 90 minutes.

DM Aron Marczylo |

It appears to end naturally.
Jerin manages to detect auras however he doesn't get a chance to pinpoint the auras before the group are suddenly attacked by three large fungi-covered skeletal creatures.
They appear as they strike out with their weapons at the group. First against Curnach and the other two against Krenn. First was a strike missed Curnach.
attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (6) + 16 = 22
Two fight against Krenn and bring down their large-sized scimatars, one striking viciously
attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (18) + 16 = 34
crit threat: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (12) + 16 = 28
damage: 2d8 + 18 ⇒ (7, 3) + 18 = 28

Round 1
Group Initiative:
Curnach Daveck: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Jerinthian Kos: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Krenn Whetstone: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Llyra Bjorgan: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Guarden Guardians: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Order:
Guarden Guardians
Llyra Bjorgan
Jerinthian Kos
Curnach Daveck
Krenn Whetstone
The Guarden Guardian behind Curnach attacks once again.
attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (7) + 16 = 23

attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30
crit attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
The other two strange creatures bring down their blades on Krenn once again. The fungi on these things appears to keep the bones tied together as the sinue and muscle has long since gone. They strike out at Krenn in a viscious way.
attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (14) + 16 = 30
damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (13) + 16 = 29
damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14

Curnach Daveck |

Ok, a few things. 1.- They still need to test stealth VS perception to surprise us, and being large sized i'm sceptical that Curnach would have no chance of detecting them, even with the bonus from invisibility. 2. Garden is not spelt "Guarden" ;). 3. Also Llyra, this is an ideal time to use Serpents Lash surely, as the two are adjacent? What reach do the creatures have, 10 feet? 4. Knowing which knowledge check to make would be helpful.

Llyra Bjorgan |

Thanks, I totally spaced that I had Serpent's Lash, it has been so long since I had chance to use it.
Serpent's Lash extra attack/trip: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26
Unless they have CMD > 26, that should trip both of the ones fighting Krenn.

DM Aron Marczylo |

Forgot the shield attacks on them and forgot the knowledge checks. Two secs.
Shield attack on Curnach: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34
damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
two shield attacks on Krenn, however both miss.
Shield attack on Krenn: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21
Shield attack on Krenn: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
Though it is difficult to tell, it appears these creature were once a type of Genie called a Janni or Jann. They are the weakest of genies and there are stories that in distant Vudra all genie are common place, often bound to the service of kings, queens or warloads as bodyguards, servants or (with increasing frequency) as lovers. Most of them are Jann, the weakest just like these poor souls who were probably slaves imported secretly before whatever happened to them, happened.
The plantlife on these things is something you've only ever studied in books or heard tales of from bards. It is said in some areas of the Mwangi Expanse, Sodden Lands or areas of the darklands there is a type of intelligent fungi. It is said to have first appeared in the form of a spore and it's first host was a lizardman who died, but rose against, growing fungi out of it's flesh and as he met his other kind, spread out more spores.
The creatures infected rise again as plants, having no need for the organs on their bodies besides nutrients for the fungal growths. Magic designed to effect plants works on them, but they also have the same immunity as any plant. The creature will have memories of it's previous life and an intelligence so no two fungal creatures are the same. They also gain any traits the creature had in life as well as it's skills in combat and natural spell-like abilities if it had any as well as any spells.
They can spread the spores only once per day, however breathing in the spores can fatigue and exhaust a man, even if they survive the harmful effect of the spores entering the person's bloodstream. If they die, they become one of these things.
Many wild creatures also become infected for injesting any part of the creature can weaken and kill anyone who attempts this as the blood is replaced with water, spores and everything inside of the plant itself. Anyone who bites it may accidently partially injest the thing, still causing harm to the creature.
It is said that these things do not breath, eat or sleep, however the moisture of an area can recover the creature if wounded and it gains the benefits of a full nights rest. Those that are intelligent can also speak and gain the language of the fey and plant creatures too.
There have been rare cases where a young man would return to the village, having been transformed into one of these things but retains his own personality and poses no threat, but it often burned anyway for fear of what he is before scholars get to examin the body.
Llyra's skill with the whip manages to trip the first one, but it doesn't manage to pull the other one down.

Jerin |

knowledge planes 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (16) + 18 = 34
knowledge religion 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (14) + 16 = 30
They are a kind of plant but retain their Genie abilities. They can spread harmful spores once per day.
Jerin 5' steps to J28 and drops a Fireball on the two near the wall.
Caster Level Check for SR if needed 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18
Fireball DC 20 9d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 3, 3, 2, 1, 6, 4, 5) = 30

DM Aron Marczylo |

Forgot to mention that the Jann have fire resistance 10, I should list everything the Jinni have.
The Jann have resistance to fire and are very perceptive, having the ability to see in the darkness and being very perceptive. They're usually quite strong and dexterous, however these versions appear to be more bulky than their common cousins and lacking in their movement.
Jann have spell-like abilities but they also have the ability to increase in size, which you can guess they have done already as they are normally human-sized.
These creatures usually rise with less dexterity than when they died, their movement becoming shambling and slow. Any spell that wilts of kills plants will work on these things.
Jerin if you want to change you're action you really can, just me forgetting about the Janni resistance and ect.

DM Aron Marczylo |

Krenn smacks this thing hard with his axe, slicing away fungi which begins to secrete a disgusting ooze out of it.
Round 2
Order:
Guarden Guardians
Llyra Bjorgan
Jerinthian Kos
Curnach Daveck
Krenn Whetstone
First is the attack on Curnach, landing two solid blows, one with sword and the other with it's spiked shield.
attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (15) + 16 = 31
crit threat attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (5) + 16 = 21

shield bash: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32
damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Another decides to get up from Prone infront of Krenn, not caring about causing an AoO and taking a solid blow before it begins to spread out spores everywhere.
Krenn's AoO 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (4) + 18 = 22
damage: 1d10 + 16 ⇒ (8) + 16 = 24
Krenn's Fort: 1d20 + 15 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 15 + 2 = 18
con damage: 1d2 ⇒ 1 and fatigued
The other one of these things that wasn't knocked down now attacks Krenn and only manages to hit him with it's spiked shield.
attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (1) + 16 = 17
attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
shield bash: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (12) + 15 = 27
damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Yellow cloud is where the poisonous cloud is. Bad luck on the roll there on Krenn.

Llyra Bjorgan |

Round 2
Seeing that the battle has not started well, Llyra raises her symbol of a golden wasp.
Savored Sting, I pray that you bless this party so that we may defeat this monster which shall never enjoy the pleasure of your touch.
Cast Prayer --> +1 luck bonus on attack, damage, save, and skill checks -- -1 on same things for all monsters within 30'.

Curnach Daveck |

Seeing that Llyra wasn't coming to aid him, Curnach moved to J28 and out of the very air around him, shaped a roaring, invisible curtain of wind that rapidly dissipated the spore cloud in the area around it and acted as a powerful barrier to protect Krenn from further harm.
Wind Wall in squares J29, J30, K29, K30, L29, L30, J31, K31, L31. The wall is 45 feet high. See the Wind Wall spell for more details. Also GM, an AOO on Curnach. Remember Prayer.

Krenn Weststone |
Krenn presses his attack on the one he injured, ready to turn on the other if he manages to bring down the first.
I didn't see any melee effects to attacking through the wind wall, so the rolls below take into account Prayer and fatigue, which effective offset for the melee rolls.
To hit 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (12) + 18 = 30
Damage 1d10 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 20
To hit 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15
Damage 1d10 + 16 ⇒ (2) + 16 = 18
Heroism, Feather Step, Death Ward, Prayer.

DM Aron Marczylo |

Crit Threat: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (20) + 15 = 35
critical damage: 2d8 + 16 ⇒ (8, 2) + 16 = 26
The wind wall buffets and blows away the spores, up high in the air and away from the party.
1d20 + 17 ⇒ (11) + 17 = 28
Krenn splutters out the spores and appears to have resisted it's effects this time round and better than before and then uses his axe to attempt to cut down the wounded and fungi-ridden outsider.
Ninjaed by Krenn.
Krenn's blow lands hard on the creature, removing more of the fungi and then it's leaking out even more watery sludge.
The creatures begin to atttack the group with their blades. The first however, decides to start to spead it's spores, catching Curnach but he resists and doesn't inhale any of the deadly spores this time round.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
The strange plant-like creatures start attacking Krenn again.
attack 1: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32
crit threat: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16

The first one landing a hit with the blade and then a bash with the spiked shield just as the second one follows up with it's attacks.

the blue is wind wall.

DM Aron Marczylo |

You didn't move me.
Done, never got effected by the spores anyway but now you're out of the way lol

DM Aron Marczylo |

forgot to announce new round lol.
Round 3
Order:
Guarden Guardians (already gone)
Llyra Bjorgan
Jerinthian Kos
Curnach Daveck
Krenn Whetstone
Llyra attempts to trip the one fighting Krenn, but fails the attempt just as Jerin uses his wand and fires off a lightning bolt which skewers through both fungi creatures.
trip attempt 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

DM Aron Marczylo |

Not seeing any reflex saves for Jerin's lightning bolt. If that second roll was also a trip attempt it looks like Llyra's dropping the whip.
the second roll was the reflex save.

DM Aron Marczylo |

I am a little confused as to whose turn it is...I just went so I assume it is Curnach's turn?
]ooc]yup[/ooc]

Curnach Daveck |

Where's the map?
As he bled from a multitude of brutal cuts and bashes, Curnach moved (FROM J28) to K29 for Krenn to protect him and to keep the spores off him.
Llyra, I can hardly stand here... he implored, as he cast a deadly wall of blue fire that chilled the bone rather than burnt it. He cast it into a radius around himself, Krenn and Llyra, who were unharmed on this side of it.
Note the spell was cast with his Elemental Rod of Cold, essentially making it deal cold damage rather than fire. Note the Garden Guardian's don't get AOO's as Krenn is providing Curnach with cover.
The two Krenn is fighting immediately take 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (3, 4) + 9 = 16 cold damage and take the same damage on their actions every turn as long as they are in the radius. Aron, probably best for me to explain the radius over Steam chat.

DM Aron Marczylo |

sorry about that, forgot the map even though I did safe it, odd :p hope to get some directions where the walls are from Curnach now.
The first one crumbles down into peices, the plant organs stop moving and the body falls apart, reverting to it's origonal size.

Krenn Weststone |
With a backward glance at the other creature attacking Curnach, Krenn presses the attack on the creature before him, hoping to bring the struggle to a quick end.
To hit 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (6) + 18 = 24
Damage 1d10 + 16 ⇒ (6) + 16 = 22
To hit 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14
Damage 1d10 + 16 ⇒ (5) + 16 = 21
Heroism, Feather Step, Death Ward, Prayer, Stoneskin.

DM Aron Marczylo |

Krenn flails with his axe and doesn't land any of the blows, but from the strength he put into them it looks intimidating.
Round 4
Order:
Guarden Guardians (already gone)
Llyra Bjorgan
Jerinthian Kos
Curnach Daveck
Krenn Whetstone
The creature to the left walks over to Llyra and attacks with it's scimitar and landing a heavy blow.
attack: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32
crit confirm: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (15) + 15 = 30
damage: 2d8 + 16 ⇒ (7, 5) + 16 = 28
The second attacks all out against Krenn with it's blade and spiked shield. The first attack with the blade looking like it could do some serious damage, but didn't manage to deliver whilst his second swing and bash with the shield missed entirely.
Scimitar 1: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32
crit confirm: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 22
damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Scimitar 2: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
shild bash: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15
Llyra's spell goes off, the chain floats over the chasam and the ghostly chains shoot out, gripping the creature and then pulling hard on him. The creature continues to try and keep his balance now it was halfway off and half on, but it loses it's footing and falls into the waiting sea water below.
touch attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
2d3 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5
6d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 6, 3, 4, 2) = 20
save: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
The creature takes it full in the chest from the lightning bolt that Jerin fires from his wand.

Krenn Weststone |
Sustaining a gash from the creature's lucky scimitar strike, Krenn eases back, carefully planning his blows in an effort to finish the monstrosity off.
To hit 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (12) + 18 = 30
Damage 1d10 + 16 ⇒ (7) + 16 = 23
To hit 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (18) + 13 = 31
Damage 1d10 + 16 ⇒ (7) + 16 = 23
Heroism, Feather Step, Death Ward, Prayer, Stoneskin (10 prevented).

DM Aron Marczylo |

Krenn's first attack hacks off the creature's leg, forcing it to fall low enough for him to bring the axe down and slice it's head off. The creature falls to the ground, the fungi turning black and all the plantlife that was once so animate now stopped moving.
The Fallen creature begins to rise out of the water slowly, acting on the Janni's natural flight ability and slowly approching upwards.
water is 100ft down and as a full round action with his slow speed he's done 40ft...
Round 5
Order:
Guarden Guardians (already gone)
Llyra Bjorgan
Jerinthian Kos
Curnach Daveck
Krenn Whetstone

Llyra Bjorgan |

Well, lets await this last one's arrival.
First round, Channel Energy - Heal: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 4, 1) = 17
Second Round - Touch Krenn - Bit of Luck - May reroll all d20.
I think it will take 2 rounds, if it is only one, skip the Channel.
