Curnach hurls another fire bolt.
1d20+2 VS Touch
1d6+2
The undead takes another strike from the fire, but remains standing for a little bit, though appears haggered and weakened from the attack. The necromatic energies holding it together are weak and one strong hit is needed to take it down.

DM Aron Marczylo |

Krenn's round 2 action
Krenn swings his axe to deliver a mighty blow, severing the zombie in half with a single bow, killing the last one in this room.
attack 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
damage 1d10 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16
That's the end of the round and there appears to be nothing of interest in this room only many lipsticks and other expensive and exotic makeup in this room. the jewlery case was emptied you assume by Jolistina as she did have stolen jewlery on her. Like the rest of the mansion so far, this room too smells strongly of carrion due to the rotting bodies.

DM Aron Marczylo |

The room you enter appears to be a bathroom. There's nothing here of interest besides the blood on the floor which the trail leads out and adds to the pile of bodies on this floor.
All that's left is a door that is across the room, surrounded by windows and near where Josilina is laying unconcious. This is a door that leads to a balcony that overlooks the guarden, but there is nothing of interest here. The only place left to look is downstairs.

DM Aron Marczylo |

You don't appear to notice anything in this room, however you do catch out the corner of your eye three more zombies. Two sitting down by the fire whilst another is standing there like a servant with a silver tray, on it appears to be a few empty glasses.
Due to earlier with upstairs, shall I just assume you guys easily beat these guys as there are only 3 of them there which you guys could take out with ease.

DM Aron Marczylo |

I think that would be prudent. I don't know who designed this house but it seems craptasticly balanced. If it was all one big fight with more and more zombies pouring in that would have worked much better; as it is, its just a grind of poor encounters.
Yeah, it says it's meant to be one big combat, however the zombies don't act unless you enter the room or make yourself seen some other way as they continue to do their macarbre acts and only attack if someone get their attention.
After dispatching the undead you find nothing else of interest in this room.

DM Aron Marczylo |

If we've effectively searched the room at A-C/3-5, then Krenn will check the door between E4 and F4.
This appears to be a small sitting room that appears to be mostly untouched and with nothing else of interest here.

DM Aron Marczylo |

Shall I just point out the empty rooms on the map to speed things along?

DM Aron Marczylo |

The path down south where Krenn is looking is into the guarden. There appears to be nothing of interest out the guarden.

DM Aron Marczylo |

As Krenn opens the door once again there is a macarbre pantomime here, courtesy of Jolistina. You see 4 figures sitting down dressed as a sear serpent, a castle tower, a swan and a blus skeleton whilst on the stage a single zombie dressed as a blue-winged angel, struming a large, standing harp, unfortunatly all the strings of the harp are broken so there is no sound, but that doesn't stop the zombie from trying to pluck at the invisiable cords.
Round 1
Group Initiative:
Curnach Daveck: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Jerinthian Kos: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Arianna Rothschild: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Krenn Whetstone: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Zombies: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (15) + 0 = 15
Order:

Arianna Rothschild
Krenn Whetstone

DM Aron Marczylo |

zombie 1: 1d20 ⇒ 8
zombie 2: 1d20 ⇒ 13
zombie 3: 1d20 ⇒ 10
zombie 4: 1d20 ⇒ 12
zombie 5: 1d20 ⇒ 12
All of the zombies in the room fall to the floor under the insense explosion by Curnach's fireball. Small fires are set up all over the room and over the corpses' costumes, but they are all down now.

DM Aron Marczylo |

Curnach spits in disgust, and then gestures for the group to continue exploring.
A door to the south and a double-door entrance in the hall that you've all gone past.

DM Aron Marczylo |

The room you come across is the preparing area for the servants. Here you find two zombies, they were once the house servants, dressed in simple clothing at a preperation table using their dull knifes to cut the meat off a dead body, which is dressed up with a pig. What's even more sickening to add to this visual is the dead body has a apple stuffed in it's mouth.
You dispatch the two zombies with no problem. A door to the right leads into a larder where the meats and cheese were stored, though some has gone out of date whilst the door west leads into a room with both stairs that lead down into a basement and another door leading further west.

Krenn Weststone |
We'll check the larder quickly before going to the west door and opening it. Krenn will comment I'd prefer to make sure nothing's left up here to follow us down before taking the stairs down. If there are no other doors in this branch of the house, we'll backtrack to the main room and take the other south door.

DM Aron Marczylo |

As described, door to the west or stairs downstairs. It's a reasonable assumption that this door would lead eventually the same way that the double doors in the main area that havn't been checked yet might lead.

DM Aron Marczylo |

As Krenn has decided on where he was going and they lead to the same place.
As you enter the double doors you see six zombies, all dressed up and eating from bowls of what is probably rotten soup. The motion is continous as whenever they drink the soup their mouth is left gaping and it spills back out into the bowl for them to once again get more soup with their spoon. They notice you and start their attack.
Round 1
Group Initiative:
Curnach Daveck: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Jerinthian Kos: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Arianna Rothschild: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Krenn Whetstone: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Zombies: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (9) + 0 = 9
Order:
Curnach Daveck
Jerinthian Kos
Krenn Whetstone
Zombies
Arianna Rothschild
The zombies will be having trouble and be unable to move this round as they have had their seats pushed tightly against the table and will need some time to struggle out.

Curnach Daveck |

The zombies will be having trouble and be unable to move this round as they will be immolated by Curnach.
Fixed that for you ;).
More filth! Curnach exclaims in disgust, hurling another fireball at the zombies.
5d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 4, 1, 1) = 12 DC19
Oooh, some might survive for everyone else this time :).

DM Aron Marczylo |

zombie 1: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (13) + 0 = 13
zombie 2: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (10) + 0 = 10
zombie 3: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (17) + 0 = 17
zombie 4: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (13) + 0 = 13
zombie 5: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (5) + 0 = 5
zombie 6: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (19) + 0 = 19
One single survivor appears to survive this blast, but it has left him terribly wounded from the scorching fire.
He's the one right at the end of the table for distance of spells.

DM Aron Marczylo |

...Krenn you are made of awesome. You just delt 20 damage to a creature that only had 6 hitpoints left.
As Krenn charged in he decapted the zombie's head off, the disembodied head flying in the air and then crashing back down to the floor, rolling under the table.
Well...safe to say this floor is clear.

DM Aron Marczylo |

You make your way down the stairs into the dark, but you notice that unlike the other floors this one has been lit with torches. You make yur way through a door, finding many barrels of wine stacked up, some wine being rare bottles dating back several centuries. Everything here has been left unused and you find a final door, however this one appears to be locked.
DC 24 Strength check to batter it down or pick the lock with a DC 30 disable device

Krenn Weststone |
Crowbar in hand, Krenn goes to work.
Strength 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
After long, embarrassing moments or straining pass, the door finally gives way to the dwarf's efforts. Panting with his face flush from the struggle, Krenn takes up his shield and axe and steps up to the doorway, scanning beyond it.

DM Aron Marczylo |

Inside you see many painting supplies, a small shrine to Shelyn, a tawdry-looking divan, several scandalous portraits of Mrs. Carowyn and from the paintings above you recognise Mr. Carowyn, however somewhat older than he was in the portraits.
He is brandishing a dull paint knife defensively at all of you, backing away.
"Who are you?! Don't come any closer, friends of that vile harlot woman!" he shouts, but his voice is shakey and the knife is shaking clearly from his own rattled nerves. He appears to have a few waterskins, most of them empty and a few dead rats in the corner, he's locked himself down here for quite some time.

You don't have to worry about that evil little elf anymore, she is unconscious upstairs and her evil menagerie has been delt with. Would you like ot get out of hear and you can tell us what happened over an ale and some food?
diplomacy 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 figured I would give it a try...

He lowers his knife with a nod
"Yes, but I'm not leaving without my wife. I want to know what happened her. Did she escape? Was she the one that told you I was here?" he asked seeming hopeful about his wifeAs you all know, his wife was one of the pair of zombies up in the master bedroom.

Curnach Daveck |

I must be honest with you sir- your wife was made into an abomination; one which we destroyed in order to put your wife to rest. I am sincerely sorry for your loss, and we have the mage responsible in our custody. Justice will be done, that much I can promise you.

Ausio remains still, seemingly making him lose his composure and he pales, but sighs as he accepted the worse would've happened some time ago.
"That woman burst in, quite uninvited and dressed as something of a harlot-harlequin." he sighs, sitting back down "She opened fire on my guests with her crossbow, laughing all the while in the most frightful, shrill way. They sickeed and collapsed with shocking rapidity-whatever venom she coated those bolts with could only be blood veil!" he gets back up and looks over the group. "Please, escort me to the guard for a full report on what happened here. I need to make a report to the Field Marshall and have a formal investigation to clean up and repair any damage that crazy elf woman did to my home. The families will need to be informed of what happened too."You've completed this encounter. You all gain a new level, bringing you all up to 6th level, ready for the final chapter of this part.

Cressida Kroft AKA DM |

We'll take you to the field marshall now sir, along with the Elf that attacked you.
"I thank you. I wish to take her head off, but she should be delt with by the law, even though she is clearly deranged." he gets up, wanting to get off and report what had happened to the Field Marshall.
Assuming you all collect the elf woman and carry her unconcious with Ausio Carowyn
Field Marshall Cressida Kroft is surprised by what disturbing news you brought her. As you all explain to her everything that happened she makes sure to have Jolistina Superio gagged when put away as she knows this woman is a sorcorer. She lets one of her leutenants deal with the paperwork for Ausio Carowyn for the cleaning of his mansion and reporting to the families of those who died.
Once he's left she looks over to you with a serious look.
"I have the address where the good doctor has been hiding out. He has been hiding in The Hospice of the Blessed Maiden. This Hospice has many infected within it's walls and my informant has seen many of the Queen's Gray Maidens entering and leaving, but beyond that my informant knows nothing about the inside, but he did manage to find out a nurse stops anyone from getting any further than the entrance." she stops for a moment and looks out the window. "Take a rest for tonight and make sure you are prepared to enter the Hospice. There will be many innocent, suffereing victims of the Blood Veil in there and I would hope none of you cause their deaths, however I understand if there are unavoidable casualties. I hope once you catch this horrorfying doctor we can get some straight answers out of him and a cure to this plague. I wish I could pay you for what you have done, but we have our resources streched."

Arianna is waiting to hear if any of you want anything out of the loot? Curnach has already said he has no interest but what about the rest of you?
