Althon's blow lands hard on the first Imp that comes close enough. It cuts hard, but the flesh of these Devils is hard and difficult to break. You certainly got it's attention however as it strikes out at you with it's stinger and hisses and grins as he finds his target in you're shoulder.
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
1d4 ⇒ 4
and DC 13 Fortitude save.
"Foolish mortal."
Others strike at the rest of the group.
Curnach: The stinger completely misses and the Imp hisses in frustraition.
"Druid...Filthy dirt woreshipper"
Aventi: First misses, second hits. 1d4 ⇒ 4 damage and DC 13 Fort save.
"You better have some money, mortal filth."
Tapestry: First hits and second misses. 1d4 ⇒ 3 damage and DC 13 Fort save.
"You dirty Tiefling. Die!"
Krenn: First hits second completely misses. 1d4 ⇒ 3 damage and DC 13 Fort save.
"Give us your gold, Dwarf. Return to your mines."
Again the Shurikun stabs into the body of the imp, but doesn't penetrait too deeply.

Tapestry |

Tapestry's AoO Vs the first imp to attack her (using her spiked gauntlet): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Damage (for what it's worth...) if a hit: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Fortitude save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Tapestry yells as the imp's stinger pierces her flesh, uncoiling her whip as she calls out,
'May the blessings of the goddess aid us against... my little cousins I guess...'
Casts Bless: team neutral all get +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and saves against fear for the next minute.

DM Aron Marczylo |

1d2 ⇒ 2 dex damage. The poison is still in the system since you didn't save.

Curnach Daveck |

Tapestry's AoO Vs the first imp to attack her (using her spiked gauntlet): 1d20 + 3
Damage (for what it's worth...) if a hit: 1d4
I feel its worth pointing out that although they do indeed provoke AOO's for moving into your square, you can't take them as you hadn't yet acted in initiative and you don't have combat reflexes.

DM Aron Marczylo |

Avanti´s AoO 1d20+2 and Damage1d6+2. Also the Fort Save:1d20+2
Avanti will attack the foul imp with roundhouse kick chuck norris mentioned! insta death? towards its head
No luck I'm afraid unless your name was Chuck Norris, your character came from Texas and met all the requirements which couldn't possibly be matched :D
Same thing with Krenn, your attack lands a heavy blow but it's thick hide resists and it doesn't go down.
Althon: 1d2 ⇒ 2 dex damage
Aventi: 1d2 ⇒ 1 dex damage
Krenn you did't take your Fort save
As the round ends you hear the familiar hisses and growls of the Pseudodragon population. Like imps these are common in the city, however the only reason they are is to hunt down the imps own now look very frightened as the creatures decent upon them and chase them off giving you all attacks of oppitunity if you wish to take them. The Pseudodragons appears to be adults, only 1 foot long with a 2 foot long tail.
Everyone who hasn't passed DC 12 Fort save will have to save again and 4 more times. A single save will overcome the poison.

DM Aron Marczylo |

Round 2
Curnach Daveck: 23
Althon Skyven: 22
Aventi D'Gaudon: 14
Imps: 13
Tapestry: 9
Pseudodragons: 9
Krenn Whetstone: 4
Let's see if you guys can kill a few before they escape as they run in fear to what has become their natural predators.

Aventi D´Gaudon |

Fort saves 5 time: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 | 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 | 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12 | 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11 | 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10... can I just say of fu** sa**! so.. 5d2 dex damage roll please and of course after the fight heh... :D
Upon leaving and providing chance to hit, Avanti will try to land a blow against one of them imps Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22 Damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 #Imp who attacked Avanti#
As the Imps are running away, Avanti will not give a chance to one nasty bugger, using his new acquired adamantine shuriken
FoB 1[shuriken]Attack 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 & Damage 1d2 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 and immediately takes 5 feet step closer, spins around fast and drops a high Axe heel kick towards imps head [Leg /w Stunning Leg?"Fist" DC 14 Attack 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 & Damage 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Curnach Daveck |

Round 2 Action
A majestic, glowing eagle appears above the Imp's, just atop the one that Krenn wounded. The eagle immediately tears into the Imp, but cannot harm the creature's supernaturally tough skin.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Roll for an AOO, theres bound to be one provoked.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Action for this round will be total defence, +4 AC.

It's DC 12 fort save so you saved on the third time, same with Curnach.
Aventi: 1d2 ⇒ 1 + 1d2 ⇒ 1
Curnach: 1d2 ⇒ 1 + 1d2 ⇒ 1
Damn, well the poison was clearly very...mild. Both of you saved on the third roll, but you'll keep the damage until healed.

DM Aron Marczylo |

miscounted the rolls. Thought they were all d20s, my mistake.

Tapestry |

I feel its worth pointing out that although they do indeed provoke AOO's for moving into your square, you can't take them as you hadn't yet acted in initiative and you don't have combat reflexes.
Very good point - for some reason I was picturing the group watching as these things descended, but looking back the DM did mention we were surprised. OOC I know Tapestry's got no weapon which can harm the things anyway (what with DR 5 and all)... unless she rolled a critical with the spiked guantlet and a 3 or 4 on damage... so no harm, no foul I guess. The wasted spell's a bit annoying though - I didn't realise (or more likely read and forgot) that imps and pseudodragons were so common in the city... best I go back and read the players' guide again...
Next five Fortitude saves (for if / when needed):
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Tapestry call after the fleeing Imps...
For an action, I guess Tapestry will cast Guidance on herself to help her saving throws (+1 to the results above). She'll keep casting it on herself until she saves, then cast it on anyone else who still seems to be in need.

DM Aron Marczylo |

Krenn will try to take one out as it flees.
To Hit 1d20+5
Damage 1d10+3Clearly flustered and flailing, Krenn will calm himself a bit and check to see if anything was stolen during the quick encounter.
Krenn you still havn't rolled for fort save for when you were stung. Tapestry resisted the poisonwith the first save so no damage for her.

DM Aron Marczylo |

The fort save is about four posts up. He rolled a 19.
Oh right, sorry completely missed that.

DM Aron Marczylo |

Just need Althon to do his move and combat will be over.

Althon Skyven |

Althon winces from the sting, and swings his sword at the fleeing imp...
AoO 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Damage 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Next 5 saves if/when needed
Fortitude 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Fortitude 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Fortitude 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Fortitude 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Fortitude 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

Grau Soldado AKA DM |

As the Imps escape a few of them slowed down from being struck hard from your attacks and the Pseudodragons swoop down, taking them down and the others chasing the rest away as they feed. They don't seem to take any notice in the group apart from a curious glance as they feed on the Imps.
Assuming you all want to get a move on:
Nothing happens as you finish approching the temple and find Grau waiting there, though seeminly immpatiently. He leads the group to the castle which is the large and obvious pyramid shaped structure in the city, bigger and taller than every other building making it magnificent and overshadow the entire city. It is a stunning and magnificent achievement of architecture, the castle walls and spires rise high into the sky above. The entire structure looms even higher for it's ancient foundation-a Thassilonian ruin in the shape of an immense flat-topped pyramid. A corner of this impressive foundation has falling into ruin, but the additions built onto the sides by eager and talented Korvosan Masons have created one of the most recognizable lindmarks in all of Varisia.
As you make your way here you notice the town is a lot more calm than last night with no shoutings in the street, but you still hear whispers of the anger against the queen.
You approch the castle and guards deliberately get in your way.
"Speak your business." says one of the guards and it's this moment Grau speaks up
"You can let them past. These people can be trusted." the guards look to each other and shake their heads.
"Queens orders, we're to admit adventures, but first if they want to see the new Queen of Korvosa they must remove their weapons and leave them here. Even you don't have any authority over royalty. Why don't you go back to your bar and make out with your wife, Mead." the others laugh as they say this, but Grau remains silent.
"These new orders are strange...the King never admitted anyone without good cause."
"The queen is in charge now! New ruler, new rules. Pretty soon you might be looking for a new job." at this point Grau steps away and they turn to the group. "If you want to see the queen you must surrender your weapons here and be escorted. These are the rules or no admittence." he leers over at Grau, afraid that he might start something and looks back to the group.
Grau looks to the group and nods.
"I must get back to my duties at the city guard, but if any of you are looking for work I will have my hands full so I could use the help." the men laugh as the lead guard heckles him.
"You'll need more than help. You'll need a god-send to get this city back in order." they laugh and Grau ignores their attitude and bows to the group, leaving as this seemed to be the end of the agreement you all had with Grau.

Aventi D´Gaudon |

Avanti smiles and give them all his shuriken, but especially points at adamantine shuriken I would not like to loose this, if possible
and then back up waiting for others
I am assuming that went after the shuriken and made sure to retrieve it. As long as I know, it should not be broken due to being adamantine heh

Aventi D´Gaudon |

True :S This moment I am down now to... 26 normal + 1 ada. shurkien = 27 total. I agree that its quite nice, but it increase my WBL so I am more than happy in future to give some of the stuff to you or others to ensure fairness. Can´t really forget that adamantine = bypass alot of things

DM Aron Marczylo |

Aron doesn't like the idea of a masterwork adamantine shuriken that breaks on impact, which is the RAW. So we upped the value of it to a regular weapon (+300GP) and its an unbreakable retrievable one etc.
Not to mention I got the price wrong (didn't list one in the AP) so decided to go for it being unbreakable. Kinda silly for a Shurikun to be worth so much and yet it possibly breaks when you first use it.

Krenn Weststone |
You want 'em? Sure.
Krenn walks up to the loud mouth and hands him his heavy shield. And his warhammer. And his shortsword. And his light crossbow. And his bolts. And his dwarven war axe.
With the last item, he'll comment Don't play with that one, boy. You're likely to hurt yourself.
Is it obvious which way to go? If so, he'll move on. Otherwise, he'll wait for the others.
Aventi, have you considered wearing the adamantium shuriken like a piece of jewelry, perhaps a brooch? I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to hold it in place with some thread and snatch it off when you are ready to use it. Then in situations like this it may not be recognized as a weapon.

DM Aron Marczylo |

Is it obvious which way to go? If so, he'll move on. Otherwise, he'll wait for the others.
You'll all be escorted once everyone hands in their weapons. the guards aren't searching you and will only pester those with the obvious weapons like the weapons you handed in or Tapestry's whip and gauntlet or Althons huge sword.
The guard has a very comically fearful look as you unload all these weapons onto him and for a moment he looks like he's about to ask if you have anymore, but stops himself and looks at the remaining two. He hands the weapons to one of his subordinants nearby who stores it away in the guardhouse, putting it to one side.

Tapestry |

Tapestry shrugs and hands over her whip and gauntlet when asked, but does comment,
'Silly boys. They're not weapons, they're tools of the trade! I you're good... or very naughty... I may show you later...'
She offers the guards a wink and a smile before heading off with the escort.

Sabina Merrin AKA DM |

As you have all being disarmed you are escored up the stairs into the castle. The guards appear nervous around you all, however at the top of this structed on the 3rd floor there stands a beautiful woman dressed in magnificent full plate armour fashioned beautifully, but also looks effective.
"Greetings. Might I ask why you wish to see the queen?" she asked, looking genuinly interested in them and waves the guards off so that they leave and she stands before you awaiting a answer from any of you. She also appears to stare at Tapestry quite a bit.

Curnach Daveck |

Curnach bows slowly, and then speaks in his usual quiet and deep voice
We came into possession of something that belonged to her, stolen by a criminal who was brought to justice. We saw fit to return the Queen's rightful property to her.
As he finishes, Curnach produces the brooch he identified as belonging to the Queen, holding it aloft.

Sabina Merrin AKA DM |

Sabina smiles widely as she is shown this and nods her head.
"Yes I remember this. My Queen was so upset when this went missing, and then her husband dies...it is indeed been a sad month for her. Now, please follow me and I shall take you to her." she turns and walks with you all down the halls. As she does this she also looks back to everyone. "I assume you have all heard about the Queen taking the throne? So many angry people out there. I don't understand why they would accuse our marvelous queen of killing her husband. He was old and he just died from old age, that's it. He went in his sleep, poor man. He is safe now and Ilosia...I mean the Queen can now rule properly in his place. Don't you all agree?" she asks checking on everyone and spending a longer amount of time looking at Tapestry.
Knowledge Local check to get more of an idea of what people think of Sabina
As you all round a corner she announces the group to the queen.
"Your ladyship! Here are a group of mighty heroes who have brought back your brooch." after saying this she steps aside and lets you all enter the throne room, with her coming in behind you all.
Before you is the aweinspiring throne room of Korvosa. At the end of the room, sitting upon the Crimson Throne that has always been here is the queen who has a sad expression upon her face and is wearing a black dress with a black veil in honour of the king's recent passing. Queen Ileosa is still a vision of celestial beauty as she sits upon this throne, despite the depressing black clothing she wears. On her lap is a small silver coffer. The throne room itself is pristine, but strangely empty-an area with a vaulted ceiling, stained glass windows of past kings and queens looking down from the eastern wall with crimson tapestries hanging along the others. An immense fireplace adds light and heat and a silk carpet provides a gently arching path to the throne's base.
Sabina takes the Brooch and walks over to the Queen, handing it to her before taking up a position at the throne's left side and just then the Queen focuses on the group as she is ready to address them.

Curnach Daveck |

Don't you all agree?"
I'm afraid I don't move in the right social circles to have an informed opinion on the matter Sabina. Curnach says neutrally.
Upon entering the throne room, Curnach glances around at the finery of the room, and then shrugs. Such wealth would never be his, why waste time with envy he thinks to himself.
I think i've done all the talking and spotlight time a charisma 7 character should be entitled to for a while- its over to you guys.

Queen Ileosa Arabasti AKA DM |

As the Queen is ready to speak she takes a deep breath, sighing as she struggles with remaining calm and looks at the Brooch.
"This brooch was stolen from me some time ago—I had not expected to see it again, truth be told. And yet, here on my darkest day, you come before me with kindness. The return of this brooch is much more than an honorable deed. It is inspiration. It is hope." she pauses for a moment before looking back to the group. “I love Korvosa, as my husband did before me. His death has shocked the city as it has me, but I will not see his legacy destroyed in death, and I shall not see my city torn apart. All Korvosa stands at the precipice of a disaster wrought by her citizens—these riots cannot continue. You have already done my heart a great service in returning this bauble to me on this dark day, and you shall be rewarded. Yet, perhaps you can serve your city more. If you so choose, I shall have Sabina see to it that you have an escort of guards when you leave here—they can see to your safe journey to Citadel Volshyenek. I shall send word ahead of you to Field Marshal Cressida Kroft to let her know you are on the way—the Korvosan Guard is stretched thin, and it can certainly use the aid of heroes such as yourself. Now, I need to retire to my personal quarters—my grief has drained me. Again, I thank you for the kindness you have shown me, and I hope your days of serving the crown are only just beginning.” as she says this the Queen calls over Sabina, giving her the silver chest and getting up, exusing herself as she leaves with a whirly of the hem of her mourning dress.
Sabina hands over to the nearest one at the front the small silver chest. As you open it you see inside the red-velvet-lined Intirior 20 gold ingots imprinted with the royal seal of Korvosa. At this point Sabina leads everyone out of the castle and back down the steps. She offers to assign guards that will escort you all to Citadel Volshyenek.

DM Aron Marczylo |

For the sake of my own Sanity I jumped ahead a bit there. You can all talk to Sabina before entering the room as she is clearly interested in your thoughts on the queen.

Aventi D´Gaudon |

hm... interesting. This city has indeed gone towards worse direction. Shame indeed Avanti ponders while listening talking of Sabina. KN:Local1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17 Where is talk, there is gossip. None can escape this rule. Indeed, the dead of the king has upset his loyal people, but we can´t escape the laws of universe. Death will come and none of us can escape it
Upon entering the throne room, Avanti looks around and sees the emptiness... so much... so little. Where does they need this everything. So many suffering and being without food, while the royalty is feasting. Nevertheless, this is life and this is Karma. Everyone should accept as it is deep in his own thoughs, Avanti almost miss the speech of queen Oh, indeed. I would be quite interested. I... have my own reasons to help those who are in need and this is better than I could hope for.

Krenn Weststone |
Krenn curses quietly to himself. When scouring the city for his nephew, he paid little attention to politics and rumors that might be useful now. He stays quiet in Sabrina’s presence, mentally reminding himself to ask his new friends later about these people.
When faced with the queen’s comments, he’ll pause to let others answer, but he’ll add I have family in this city that I would see safe, and I have new friends he says, glancing around at the gathered group that I am indebted to for their aid to me. I will be glad to take a charge that will help protect them and the others of this city. I’m not sure what difference my one axe could make, but I am certainly willing to put it forth.

Tapestry |

Tapestry sighs a little as Curnach takes the lead again - although pleased that the young man seemed to be coming out of his shell, his command of social situations was... limited... to say the least. Still, at least he hadn't gotten them all executed by his blunt and all-too-honest approach, even if such an approach had wasted any chance they'd had of trying to maximised their advantages in the circumstances they found themselves in...
... On the other hand, even if the goddess's love of trickery had been foiled before they'd even begun, maybe her love of lust could fair better? With that in mind, Tapestry quietly calls on her goddess's guidance (casts Guidance on herself) and returns Sabina's stare with a smile, bows a little (which just so happens to do wonderful things to her cleavage in the leather outfit she's wearing), and says,
'I am Tapestry, my lady - a humble servant of Calistria. If you ever seek the goddess's favours, please feel free to ask and I'll do all I can to indulge your desires...'
Diplomacy with Guidance: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Once in the throneroom, Tapestry notes that Sabina addresses the Queen with a rather informal 'ladyship' rather than the usual 'Majesty', suggesting that the warrior-woman has probably served Ileosa from a time before she was Queen (and even muses that the pair may be lovers)... but keeps such thoughts to herself for the time being. Instead she keeps politely quiet - one doesn't address royalty unless directed to, after all!
After being dismissed from the royal presence, the purple-hued tiefling does, however, address Sabina,
'My lady,' she bows again, 'may I be so bold as to inquire what exactly it is Her Majesty has directed us to do? Why are we to journey to Citadel Volshyenek to see Field Marshal Cressida Kroft? Are we delivering the gold?'
Edit: ah well, so much for Tapestry's Diplomacy either! Damn you dicebot (shakes fist)! ;)

Sabina Merrin AKA DM |

As you don't have any ranks you can only meet DC 10. Most you know is that Sabina is a trained fighter. Trained by someone who is very famous in Korvosa, famed weapons master Vencarlo Orisini.
She smiles at what Aventi says to her.
"Yes...it's so terrible when words are spread about the Queen though. She's too great a Queen to have these dirty messages spread about town."
Sabina blushes as Tapestry bows in such a way.
"I...Calistria you say? She...is indeed a popular goddess in this region, but I perfer to have laws to keep the world safe."
At the words Tapesty just said she shakes her head.
"No, that is for you and the rest of the group. It is a small reward for bringing it back. Now...if you were to continue working for the queen, as she and I hope think of how much you will be paid in full." Sabina smiles, opening the lid for the group if they havn't yet opened it/
Even though I already said what was in it in previous posts. The small chest itself is quite valuable. Curnach can appraise it if he wishes.

Tapestry |

"I...Calistria you say? She...is indeed a popular goddess in this region, but I perfer to have laws to keep the world safe."
'And, if I may be so bold m'lady,' Tapestry counters, still smiling, 'do these laws state that you can't indulge in a little harmless fun once in a while? After all, there's nothing illegal about joining a priestess in a simple... and natural... act of worship, is there? While Calistria may not be your personal patron, I assume you would offer respect to any legal deity, correct?'
"No, that is for you and the rest of the group. It is a small reward for bringing it back. Now...if you were to continue working for the queen, as she and I hope think of how much you will be paid in full."
'Her Majesty is generous indeed,' replies Tapestry, honestly, 'but as to my question... what exactly is it we're tasked to do?'
