I find this thread quite offensive as I, Queen Ileosa Arabasti the first am the true ruler of Korvosa and no mortal man or woman can take that throne from me.

Jerin:

Makes sense. Well she dissappears early in the morning, somewhat groggy, but also acting a little surprised at finding herself in your room and with you. She doesn't say much as it's obvious things have become very awkward.

Damn, I keep getting Sabina Merrin mixed up with Trinia Sabor. Only in name, they're both very different.

As you all arrive you notice that there are a whole bunch of people, with many standing by and watching what's unfolding. On the makeshift stage are many figures of importance in the city besides Queen Ilosia who appear to be wearing a new crown that looks somewhat strange as it clearly isn't made of gold. She is up there with Sabina Merrin the attractive bodyguard of the queen in new, intimidating and breathtaking suit of Gray Maiden armour, Togomor who is a wizard of incredible power from the Acadamae, Field Marshall Cressida Kroft and finally the Commandant of the Sable Company, Marcus Endrin who looks a little sheepish here on stage.

"People of Korvosa, the plague has been defeated!" she paused for praise, but doesn't get as much as there should be from the crowd. "Unfortunately this was at the cost of Doctor Davalus' life. The good doctor's body has already been shipped back to Chelia for burial inhis family vault and the physicians have been disbanded as well, yet Korvosa remains wounded no thanks to the Order of the Nail who have fled like cowards back to Citadel Vraid and don't get me started on how both the Korvosan Guard and Sable Company have suffered terrible losses in the past week with neither group being fully capable of continusing as Korvosa's protectors."

She paces as she turnes to both Cressida Kroft and Marcus Endrin and then back to the crowd.
"Thus to shore up this fault my Gray Maidens shall become the new protectors of Korvosa with my loyal handmaiden and bodyguard Sabina Merrin as the new General of Korvosa!" there is a sudden sipple of concerned whispers spreading out the crowd as the queen continues her speech. "I have decided to dissolve the Sable Company and that the remaining marines will fold into the Korvosan Guard. Commandant Endrin, please step forth and surrender your badge of office."

As Endrin moves forward he trembles as he reaches for his badge but instead of handing it over he throws it at the queen, striking her hard in the cheek stunning her and the entire crowd.
"Your shameful reign ends now! Korvosa will be free again!" as he proclaims Korvosa's freedom he draws his crossbow into his hands, aiming at the queen and pulls the trigger where the bolt imbeds itself in Queen Ileosa's temple, yet she does not fall.

Before the blood from the wound has time to run all the way down her shoulder she regains her composure, yanks the bolt from her skull and then is standing before Endrin with all the colour gone from his face. Before he can act she grasps his throat with her free hand, lifting him off the ground for all to see as she buries Endrin's own bolt between his eyes with a single powerful blow and then drops his lifeless corpse to the ground as she shakes his blood from her hand imperiously. The wound on her head appears to be knitting itself together as a incredible rate.

She points to his dead body as she calls down to the crowd.
"This shall be the fate of all enemies of Korvosa! Mark well his death! It is only the first!" and with that Togomor steps forward, taking her hand and teleporting away as a riot starts, but the Gray Maidens are always there to try and queel it quickly. Cressida Kroft looks over to you all with a stunned look on her face, but then her expression hardens and gives you all a knowing nod to suggest to meet her at Citadel Volshyenek.

Still confident you can kill a woman who see a bolt to the head as a minor inconvenience?

Krenn, you and everyone else are not allowed to be less than 80ft towards her. The Nobles area where you all are is a distance from her partly because of tradition or partly fear for her own safety. Not to mention you are in a different elevated area and she is on her own elevated area surrounded by soldiers. You do notice one of the nobles there is a man names Bahor Arkona. A very handsome human who gets on well with talking to others about his trades in Vudra, some of them interested in buying exotic silks or spices his connections can bring them.

Queen Ileosa Arabasti

As sunset draws near, the expectant excitement in the crowd builds. When the ominous beating of a single large drum begins, the assembled gawkers fall silent. The drum sets the pace for Trinia’s procession to the headsman’s block. As they reach the headsman’s block, one of the guards removes Trinia’s shackles and the hood, revealing a very frightened woman who nonetheless bravely holds back her tears, if only barely. Trinia is led up onto the platform, her arms bound behind her back by a leather cord, and she is forced to kneel over the wooden block before the headsman as Queen Ileosa stands and addresses the crowd.

Curnach makes his way to the area after drinking his potion, unseen by anyone else and sneaking past the guards who remain at they're posts and keep a watch on the immediate area as the queen begins her speech.

“Fellow Korvosans! You have suffered greatly these past few weeks. Homes have burned, family members have died, fortunes have been lost. I feel your suffering, for not only have I lost a beloved husband, but with each riot, each burning home, each act of anarchy, my heart bleeds a little more. This has been a trying time for us, yet the torment is at an end. Before you is the face of your anguish and pain. Do not be eceived by this murderer’s timid nature—she is a black-hearted assassin, a seductress and sinner, a viper amidst us all." as she says this she stops as a strange thick fog begins to fill the area. Curnach moves to give Trinia the potion and the queen screams at the top of her voice. "Quickly! OFF WITH HER HEAD!" and before she disappears the executioner raised his axe, however the axe then falls from his hands and he falls to the floor, impaled by some strange force.

Curnach:

You see the infamous warrior of peace and protection of Korvosa appear, Blackjack. Blackjack had peiced through the executioner with his rapier. A man who stands up for the innocent and he starts seaching the area where Trinia was before shrugging.
"Whoever you might be, take her out of here quickly. I'll take her off your hands and somewhere safe if you meet me in the alley. I will find you. For now however, It's time for Blackjack to make his re-appearence." the man is wearing a black cowl and you can't see his face, but then again he can't see you and he runs off the edge, jumping out of the mist for all to see.

You all see a shadow jump from the fog and there appears for all to see is the infamous hero, Blackjack. A man of myth who was a protector of Korvosa, but his appearence here has everyone in total shock, even many of the nobles' jaws hit the floor. One of them nearby muttering
"By the Gods, it's Blackjack!" Blackjack is wearing a hooded cloak and leather armour weilding a rapier in one hand and a dagger in the other.

"Interesting words, my Queen. The Queen who is doing everything in her power to tear this city down! Down with the Queen!" after these words they spread like wildfire across the population in the area who start demanding for her head and others demanding she step down from the Crimson Throne. She stands stunned for a few moments, both by the appearence of Blackjack and the sudden turning of the crowd. She whispered something to Sabina and they begin to retreat back up to the castle, turning they're back and escaping with a dozen guards, however those left behind decide to deal with Blackjack and out of the mist emerges the huge figure of the executioner with his axe, joining the frey. He appears to be outnumbers but so far he's holding off the guards, but for how long? The fact that Blackjack, champion of the city has stood against the queen is out of character.

Effectively anything you do here will not be noticed by the guard, queen or anyone else apart from Blackjack. So you can go down and help him, but the crowd is in such chaos no one is paying attention anylonger and is either fighting the hellknights or fleeing the scene so that they don't get hurt. Plus this plays out as a interactive scene so no inititive (but I'll wait for everyone to post if they're planning on doing something) so post whatever your character's reactions to this situation?

As the Queen is ready to speak she takes a deep breath, sighing as she struggles with remaining calm and looks at the Brooch.
"This brooch was stolen from me some time ago—I had not expected to see it again, truth be told. And yet, here on my darkest day, you come before me with kindness. The return of this brooch is much more than an honorable deed. It is inspiration. It is hope." she pauses for a moment before looking back to the group. “I love Korvosa, as my husband did before me. His death has shocked the city as it has me, but I will not see his legacy destroyed in death, and I shall not see my city torn apart. All Korvosa stands at the precipice of a disaster wrought by her citizens—these riots cannot continue. You have already done my heart a great service in returning this bauble to me on this dark day, and you shall be rewarded. Yet, perhaps you can serve your city more. If you so choose, I shall have Sabina see to it that you have an escort of guards when you leave here—they can see to your safe journey to Citadel Volshyenek. I shall send word ahead of you to Field Marshal Cressida Kroft to let her know you are on the way—the Korvosan Guard is stretched thin, and it can certainly use the aid of heroes such as yourself. Now, I need to retire to my personal quarters—my grief has drained me. Again, I thank you for the kindness you have shown me, and I hope your days of serving the crown are only just beginning.” as she says this the Queen calls over Sabina, giving her the silver chest and getting up, exusing herself as she leaves with a whirly of the hem of her mourning dress.

Sabina hands over to the nearest one at the front the small silver chest. As you open it you see inside the red-velvet-lined Intirior 20 gold ingots imprinted with the royal seal of Korvosa. At this point Sabina leads everyone out of the castle and back down the steps. She offers to assign guards that will escort you all to Citadel Volshyenek.
