Tapestry:

One night as you head to bed you pull back the covers and discover a colourful looking card laying there with a picture of many people dancing and jugglers as well as round tops. The title at the bottom of the card says "The Carnival". As you hold this you feel a strange sense of becoming more wise and the greater questions of life becoming so much more simple. It appears to be a card from what is known as a Harrow Deck, what some people use to tell the future however the more interesting part of the card is what's on the Reverse. Someone had written down a message for you personally:
Greetings Tapestry,
I know who the man is who corrupted you as a child. He feared you gaining too much power and influence, though he failed to kill you. A foolish man he is! You wish for revenge and I can give it to you. He is a hard man to track down, but I know where he stays now. Comes to my home at number 3 Lancet Lane. There will be others who will meet you all for the same purpose, to get revenge on that horrible Gaedren Lamm.

Curnach Daveck:

One of the city's rats, which you have been able to communicate with has come to you and in it's mouth is a card. Looking upon it you recognise it as a card from a Harrow Deck, commonly used by fortune tellers. The picture is that of a Wise and grand owl with a title at the bottom saying "The Owl". As you stare into it's eyes you swear it stares into you and imbides you with great wisdom. What's more interesting is the writing on the back.
Greetings Curnach,
Your life has been filled with pain and my heart goes out to you. If I had known of your plight and had the money I would've taken you into my home, but I cannot turn back time, however I can help you now. Come to my home at 3 Lancet Lane and there you will meet others like you who wish to dispense justice against the man who has wronged us all, Gaedren Lamm. Tonight we will get the justice we wish that the law bringers here should do.

Krenn Weststone:

In your searches you return to your rented hotel room, tired and as you check your pigeon hole you find no letters, but as you turn around you hear a thump, turn back and find a card in there. As you pick it up you recognise it as a card from a Harrow Deck, used by fortune tellers. You havn't even ran into one, though you were getting desperate enough to consider it. The picture on the cover is that of a interesting forign looking bird with the title at the bottom of the card saying "The Peacock" and feel as if you are able to fire arrows far more accurately now. In a interest you look around at the back of the card in interest and notice that there is writing.
Greetings Krenn,
I too have lost a child to Gaedren Lamm, but fear not. Your friend's son is still alive, but if you do not act quickly then I fear you will be too late. Come to my home at 3 Lancet Lane where you will meet others who wish to dispense justice against Lamm. I know where he's staying and you will be able to rescue him.

Althon Skyven:

Returning to your room for the evening you find at the end of your lance is a card stuck to it. Removing it you find that it is unstuck and looking at it you see it's a card from a Harrow Deck used by fortune tellers. The picture is of a great bear in a forest with the title at the bottom written "The Bear". You even feel stronger as you hold the card. On the reverse as you look for some reason as to why it's here you see some writing by someone.
Greetings Althon,
I have put my ear to the ground and found out how you managed to escape from Lamm and how you've earned a name for yourself. I now offer you a chance to bring justice to Gaedren Lamm. Meet me and others at my house 3 Lancet Lane. He has wronged me too and the law refuses to act. I know his location which I shall give to you and the others.

Aventi D´Gaudon:

Walking around your thoughts go to Gaedren Lamm and as you put your hand in your pocket you feel a card and upon bring it out you see that is a card. This card is from a Harrow Deck, used often by fortune tellers to make coin. The picture on this of a man with hundreds of keys all over his cloths with a name under it saying "The Locksmith" and as you hold it you feel as if you could dodge a speeding arrow. Upon your confusion you look at the back and see some writing.
Greetings Avanti,
Like many people you have lost much because of Gaedren Lamm. I give you a chance to avenge your master and bring justice by dealing with him. He had wronged me too and I offer you to come to my home at 3 Lancet Lane where you will meet others like us who want justice and have been wronged the same way.

Gather information to find out what people know about 3 lancet Lane.

DC10:

You discover that it's a fortune-telling shop owned by a Virisian woman named Zellara.

As you arrive at 3 lancet lane, you find the door is unlocked and opens with ease. The cozy chamber within this small home is filled with a fragrant haze of flowers and strong spice. The haze comes from several sticks of incense smouldering in wall-mounted burners that look like butterfly-winged elves. The smoke itself seems to soften edges and gives the room a dream-like feel. The walls are draped with brocaded tapestries, one showing a black-skulled beast juggling men’s hearts, another showing a pair of angels dancing atop a snow-blasted mountain.
A third tapestry on the far wall depicts a tall hooded figure shrouded in mist, a flaming sword held in a skeletal hand. Several brightly-colored rugs cover the floor, but the room’s only furnishings are a wooden table covered by a bright red throwcloth and several elegant tall-backed chairs.

First person who enters the shop:

There is a note on the table that was left there, prepared for everyone with six chairs. The note reads:
Thank you for coming. I had to step out for a bit, but shall return shortly. Please, have a seat while you wait. The basket under the table contains bread and drink for you. In the basket you see bread and some mild wine. Not the finest of wine, but good enough for a casual drink. The basket is covered in a blue cloth.

Male Human Monk 2

Avanti looks for a while at the card and thinks... Someone know how I feel... either way this is trap or offer to help... but if he or she has information about my master, it would be great help.

Slowly, he advances to the main streets, listens people speaking and carefully gathering information from couple of people until decides to go at 3 lancet Lane

One of the people, a woman is able to tell him about the place.
Fortune-teller... and varisian hm... that explains the harrowed card. This woman, Zellara... I will see what she has to say..

Avanti moves fast to the location 3 lancet Line, where the shop is located.

Entering inside, Avanti looks carefully around and perceive if anything odd. He sees the note

Tying Morgan to hitch post near 3 Lancet Lane, Althon approaches the building cautiously.."I don't like this either girl" says Althon soothingly to the large black mare "But if it leads us to Lamm..." he trails off as he notices that the front door is open. Drawing his sword he cautiously opens the door with the tip of his blade.

The milk tastes average. You don't detect any problems with it. You do see a man entering the door now with a sword out.

pointing out the Cavaliar entering.

"Who are you? Where's Zellara?" asks Althon, of the man drinking milk, lowering his blade a little..

While drinking the milk, Avanti notices someone coming looks curiously who is it. It did spoke in the Harrowed card that other people would be coming with same interest.

Suddenly, noticing the sword out in mans hand, he curses to himself A trap and moves fast behind the door

Avanti prepares himself for the worst, when he sees the man coming inside with a sword out. However, he keeps drinking his milk, since this might be one of those allies, like was written in Harrowed Card.

The man opens the door and comes inside and upon seeing Avanti:

Quote:

"Who are you? Where's Zellara?" asks Althon, of the man drinking milk, lowering his blade a little..

Avanti looks for a while at man and answers: "I don´t know... but I assume because of your question, you are also searching for him... regarding the Lamm I suppose? I also happened to arrive here just a while ago" while looking amused

Male Human Monk 2

Ah, yes her... I apologize for mistake and may have from time to time same mistake, since... not used to speak in common after a long time...

Falls back to thinking state but startles back Ah, the wine. No, haven´t tried but my philosophy forbids drinking. Bad for the body and mind Nods to himself I assume it is not poisoned, since I am drinking this milk and didn´t detect anything in it.

and about the woman, just as you said, only his.. I apologize, her name is Zellara and some kind of fortune-teller. After that Avanti falls back to his thinking state while sipping his cup of milk

Master of Gaming and Grognardia Current map

Neither of you detect anything strange about this place. It seems like a average magic shop.

Being as perceptive as you both are you notice that the table has six chairs which suggests if Zellara is to sit at one then you can expect three more poeple to show.

Krenn does not hesitate. He goes up to his room long enough to grab his backpack and heads to the address on the card.

Male Human (Shoanti) Cavalier * 2 (Order of the Cockatrice)

"Clearly we are not the only ones sent here to wait for Zellara. Might as well enjoy her hospitality" says Althon as he pours a generous glass of wine and sits at the table. He takes a long drink from the wine as he puts his feet up on the table and reclines in the chair "Not bad, not good, but not bad" he remarks of the wine.

Take 10 on Knowledge (local)

The door to the fortune teller's shop opens once more to admit a slender figure concealed by a long hooded cloak. For a moment the figure stands and peers at both the man in simple robes and the scale-armoured swordsman...

... Then she pulls back the hood of her cloak to reveal herself to be a strange-looking woman with purple hued skin, long white hair, and all-white eyes - attractive, in an exotic way, despite the cobweb-like lattice of pale scars which cover her face. Smiling at the two men she brushes a strand of white hair from her eyes with her right hand - a hand clad in a metal-shod and spiked gauntlet - then moves her cloak back from her shoulders: beneath the cloak she's dressed in tight-fitting dark leather, with a long whip coiled at her many-pouched belt. A silver holy symbol of Calistria can be seen around her neck.

'Well gentlemen,' she purrs in a rather sultry tone, the smile never leaving her lips, 'it looks like you've started the party without me...'

Stepping over to the table she takes the bottle of wine, pours a glass, and drinks. A sinuous 'arrow-head' pointed tail peeks from beneath her cloak as she stretches and places the glass back on the table. Reaching into one of her belt pouches she removes and holds up, face front, what appears to be a harrow card...

Quote:
... a colourful looking card laying there with a picture of many people dancing and jugglers as well as round tops. The title at the bottom of the card says "The Carnival".

'Would my aim be off if I were to assume we're all here for the same reason?' she asks, the smile still playing across her face, as she adds, 'Since neither of you fine looking fellows are this "Zellara" lady who owns the shop.'

Amused, Avanti looks how the new person, a woman arrives, looks at them and starts to drink wine. Giving a smile back and continueing drinking his milk, he watches when she take´s the Harrowed card out of belt pouch and show´s it to everyone.

Noticing also the Symbol of Calistria, he think to himself A servant of goddess... and Calistria more so. Lamm has truly angered a bee of revenge A faint smile appearing and vanishing as fast as it came on his face.

While you are conversing, a young teenager enters the house, looking extremely on edge and nervous. The young Cheliaxian-looking male is thin and gaunt, although quite tall. Dressed in shabby looking hide armour and with a wooden shield strapped to his arm, he enters the room quickly and immediately finds a corner to place himself in. He does not meet any of your eyes or say anything as he enters, and for all intents and purposes he reminds you of a cornered animal.

He smells of the streets, and he is clearly a street urchin of sorts, albeit a well-equipped one. Ignoring both the chair laid out for him and the food on the table, he absent-mindedly pulls out a small red berry from a pouch and eats it, still avoiding the gaze of the other people in the room.

Which one of you sent this? He clearly expects an answer now.

The unusual-looking woman lets slip a pleasant, light, laugh as she replies,

'Well, if I'd invited several strange muscular men into my home I'm sure I'd take reasonable precautions as well...' she looks thoughtful for a moment, then shrugs, adding, '... on second thoughts, if it were me I'd probably forget the precautions and get on with the party!'

When the Cheliaxian teenager enters the woman smiles at him too, then frowns a little as he hides himself up in the corner of the room. Glancing around the others she says,

'By the way, you boys can call me "Tapestry".' she gracefully steps over the the shy-looking teenager in the corner, leans close to him, placing her left (and un-gauntleted) hand on his shoulder and asks, 'What do I call you?' Glancing towards the robed man and the warrior she adds, 'Same question for you boys too - let's all be friends!'

Standing straight again at the dwarf's entry, Tapestry laughs out loud,

'Excellent!' she proclaims, 'This'll prove to be quite the party indeed!'

Leaning close to the teenager again she whispers (not very quietly),

'You know they say dwarves make the best lovers, don't you? Something about staying power and girth...'

Krenn takes the offered seat and wine. I do apologize. It has just been so long, years, of searching without - He chokes on his words and falls silent. Clearly, he carries a heavy burden.

The teenager is anything but muscular, although he appears fairly agile. As Tapestry places her hand on his shoulder the young man panics, flinches and retreats further into the corner of the room. He avoids Tapestry's gaze, and although he appears to understand her questions and her comment on the Dwarf, her words and her attractiveness clearly have little effect on him. He does not respond immediately, but eventually whispers a response to Tapestry...

Please... Don't touch me. I am... Curnach... he distinctly pauses, as though struggling to recall his own name. His speech is slow, as though his lips are not used to forming words.

I am called Amas... Avanti. It´s pleasure to meet you Tapestry as also all of you others Places his right hand in front of his face, palm showing to the roof and lowing hand down along his head a little bit and repeating it to everyone until assuming his meditation state again.

Avanti keep listening, while Tapestry talks to teenager and others and laughs to himself when she speaks about party getting started.

Upon hearing dwarf words:

Quote:

and sudden stopping, he rise his look and watch at the dwarf, pondering what is everyone reason to have revenge against Lamm

Just as you look down the opposite side of the road you hear the approch and out of the corner of your eye a middle-aged woman walking down the street you just looked down and swore was empty. She now steps through the door.

Stepping in through the door is a attractive middle-aged Virisian woman. She smiles to everyone and turned to Krenn.
"Krenn, this is why your search has failed until now. You can't go around bullying people, now, please let's all sit down." she makes her way to the table, but stops to look over at Curnach. "That includes you too, Curnach. Even your little friend I gave the card to knew to trust me." she gives off a loving and motherly impression as she sits down at the table and takes out a very familiar looking collection of cards. As she plays with the harrow deck it looks as if the cards themselves dance in her hands as she shuffles and reshuffles them and she isn't even paying attention to them. Strangest thing is you all attempt to retrieve the card you were given only to find it has dissappeared and upon giving her a confused look she will pull out each of your cards saying "Is this your card?" smiling coyly as she plays with the cards, waiting for everyone to take their seats

After everyone sits:

Zellara puts the deck away and looks at everyone.
"We all know why we are here. Gaedren Lamm." she waits for this fact to settle in on everyone "Yes I know exactly what he has done to you and further more, I know where he is. You see, my cards were stolen from me by one of his 'Little Lamms' and my son grew furious and went out to find him." she pauses for a moment as it's obvious there is some strong emotional connection there "I then recieved a box as a thread. It contained my Son's head and his hands. I went to the guard, but they told me they have much more important things to deal with and no idea where he is, so I have spent almost all the coin I have to find out where he is and I informed you all as I know I can trust you all." she pauses again and then raises her head looking at all of you. "He is in the Old Fishery, just down the road from here up north towards the dock. He is there and counting the treasure from today's pickpocketing. He won't be expecting any of you. You all have the element of surprise, I hope you all use it. Go now, and I will be here, waiting for you." when she finishes, she starts shuffleing her deck again. "If you wish, I can give you a reading for free before you go." she seems to smile as she wonders if she'll be able to give anyone a reading.

Tapestry sits when directed and listens quietly to what Zellara has to say...

Quote:
"Take my hand and all will be answered, or throw you javalin at me. I don't care, I just want you all to take care of Lamm and bring revenge for us all, but if you insist on distrusting me then do as I suggest and the answer shall come to you."

'Althon, sweetie,' Tapestry reaches out to pat the warrior's hand as she speaks, a smile, as usual, playing on her lips, 'please don't go skewering the nice lady... I, for one, am keen to visit father again, and she's been kind enough to tell us where he is...'

Turning to Zellara she says,

'A reading would be... interesting... if you think we have time?'

"Knight?..ha..so you can't see everything" chuckles Althon "Ok..I'll bite lady...but so help me... If you are lying...may my spirit haunt you forever" says Althon as he takes the woman's outstretched hand.

As Althon attempts to take the woman's hand, it goes though completely and she laughs and crosses her arms.

"As you can see, I'm the only one doing the haunting here." she sighed, playing with her cards again and looking sad as she looks over the group. "You see...I told you the truth I did track down Lamm, but what I didn't tell you is he found me, so please, get revenge on that bastard and bring back my deck. This deck here is also a figment." as she says this the illusion fades. There was no milk, no wine and no bread. The various tapestrys have been torn or stolen and the place looks dirty as if no one has lived here for the past few weeks. "He still has my deck of Harrow cards and my head in his possession. He's a sick bastard as the majority of you know first hand so please, you can see now why I did this little rouse. I may no long be alive, but I am giving you all the chance at revenge against this man." she appears very sad and is even crying, though you can all tell that she isn't actually real her emotions appear to be "My head is in a hat box in his room. The sick bastard painted it up with make up and I dare not describe why he still has it. Also...beware of Gobblegut. You know who he is, he's the crocadile pet he has and he is also where the rest of my body is. I was fed to him but I held onto a shred a life just to bring you all here to get revenge. You all want Lamm and I have given him to you. If you are still interested in a read, then I will give you one. It's only midday and he doesn't even know I'm here." she sats down looking very sad, but releived as she got this off her chest and continues to shuffle the cards on the table, giving a sad smile and waiting for their answer.

Avanti watches for everybody´s action and listen the story of Zellara. He thinks what he has been through and now he sees the answer. There was opening and he would use it.

Zellara, I accept your help and I will take it. After stepping out of here, I will go to Old Fishery and pay him back for everything he has done... but that is nothing yet. The thing I am most sad is my time taken away from "grandpa". You said that you have information about him, if I may ask.

I trust her, I don´t know why but the feeling is comfortable. Now I finally have the chance to get my revenge. Soon my fangs will sink to his flesh and poison him!

I will gladly accept your reading, if you want to perform it. I promise that before sunrise, I will be back here with his head. I don´t take actions... usually, if not otherwise threatened but this time man, Lamm, did something I can´t forgive

Azharten stands up and now everyone can see how big he really is, easily towering other people in the room. However, the way he moves tell something more dangerous about him, way of slowly waving, that of snake. He approaches Zellara and bend closer to her table

Does Tapestry know anything about such 'hauntings' and the ways her goddess likes to deal with such things?

Somewhat taken aback by Zellara's revelation, Tapestry's hand goes unconsciously to her holy symbol as she watches Althon's hand pass through their ephemeral hostess. Luckily, Aventi's declaration is enough to cover her suprise and, when he stands, she's enough of herself again to throw out a quick,

'My... what a big boy you are, Master Aventi!' before turning to matters at hand. Following Aventi's lead Tapestry nods to the ghostly fortune teller, 'A reading then... before my reunion and the goddess's pleasure...'

Tapestry:

You're knowledgeable about death, however you don't believe this is a spirit you are looking at. A spitit will usually wail and attack people, not seek out help from them. You also heard that they're touch can corrupt living souls and if that was true, Althon is completely unaffected by the spirit.
Make me a spellcraft check.

DM:
Spellcraft being Trained only, she can't do that... oh well...

Male Human Monk 2

Tapestry:

according the Core rulebook and other sources, you should be able to identify it. It doesn´t say anywhere trained only.

EDIT: hm... quite unsure now. It doesn´t really say anywhere trained only but then there is couple lines or more like indicators "trained only". Since you are Cleric and have Spellcraft as Class Skill, you can try. After all, it´s a game, where DM can houserule it for you to be able to do it

A reading may be interesting. I'll go along with that. I am absolutely in for raiding the fishery. The sooner the better.

The downtrodden and testy demeanor from early has vanished, replaced by an eager, almost maniacal gleam to him.

Male Human (Shoanti) Cavalier * 2 (Order of the Cockatrice)

Well, I didn't see that one coming.. Thinks Althon as he shakes the cold touch of Zellara's spirit from his hand.

"My apologies Zellara...My hate for Lamm has clouded my vision, and thoughts for many years. Forgive my trespasses. I...we... thank you for your help. I personally vow to see Lamm's head in a box" says Althon, more eloquently than his previous rhetoric.

Turning to the rest of the party "So..we're all in then. We move on the fishery. Any suggestions as to how...surely the five of us don't stand a chance...we need an plan...even if Lamm isn't expecting us, we'll be out numbered for sure"
