Hm... that shuriken... seems to be worthy... if none of you mind, I will take it? As Avanti touches it, you see how he start to play with shuriken between his fingers, same as Zellara did with her cards. More shurikens appear along to new found, now mixing in the air with fast moving and disappearing as fast as they appeared, leaving the found shuriken between his fingers.

This feels nice... and it´s done brilliantly. Weight is perfect... I wonder, who owned something like this

Avanti´s glares for a while at this perfect shuriken, until he sees the ying-yang style mimicking brooch. Everyone can notice how he is fascinated by this item and his hand slowly approach it and touch.

This looks... beautiful. Symbol of perfect harmony... This is also one of symbols of our training. Movement are controlled by muscles. Muscles are controlled by mind. Mind is in same line with nature. Nature is part of university. University is harmony... harmony is achieved by perfection, perfection is controlling yourself all the time... you can hear him speaking in a trance to himself and repeating something out of memory.

Any idea who owns this? This one must be highly valuable to anyone, who owns this...

You find the shurikun to be incredibly well balanced and exotic. You have a feeling that this especially durable shurikan wouldn't break under normal cercumstances like under normal conditions.

Shuriken Stuff:

Me and Aron were chatting about this on msn after he mispriced it (actual price should be 6GP 20SP). DM would rather the shuriken didn't break on impact, and thus the higher worth of 300GP 20SP. Enchanting it would be like enchanting a normal weapon, not ammunition.

Male Human Monk 2

mhm, guess so, when I saw that price for it :P. Belongs to Queen of Korvosa, you say... No wonder, when its such a magnificent look. Wondering though, how could such a person like Lamm receive this... hmm. However, returning this might give us the favour of Queen along with some extra cash

It´s time I should start to buy stuff to improve my equipments.. hmm Guys, I am thinking to go for the Craft profession: Rings, Armors, Weapons but need then magic user help for this: cast the appropriate magic. Should not require from me the feats for this, as long as got caster to do bindings

However, I guess the time is more concerning matter here now so I would suggest we will see how to get up here, free the kids, rescue Krenn´s nephew and get rid of all "dirty"... and about Lamm looks for a while at him I guess we can "grill" him slowly

It does require the caster to have the feats though, and I won't be taking them. Don't know about Tapestry.

hm.. Leadership feat would be then maybe quite useful for later levels, but thinking now about it

It's useful when you can't get many people in the group and you get a few people following you about, not to mention with really high charisma you have a small army following you which will certainly piss off the other PCs, not to mention the DM since you will be sending a bunch of "Red Shirts" through traps and against Ogres and stuff. Then oyu just go back to town, grab another 50 men and wrince a repeat.

Female Tiefling Cleric of Calistria 2

Cradling Lamm's head in her lap, stroking what's left of his hair, Tapestry addresses him in a kind tone... which somehow manages to come across as sinister...

'There, there, father,' she coos, 'that can't be your treasure, can it? Surely a man who's worked as hard as you for so many long, long, years must have more to his name than those few trinkets? Owning just that... that would be such a sad failure... such a waste of a life... No, you must have more, father - if not wealth, then power: you must have power. The few children upstairs, they can't be all you've got working for you now, all your little Lamms? You're a mighty crime lord, father, feared throughout the streets and beyond... aren't you? I mean, surely your life hasn't amounted to hiding in a squalid basement whilst younger, more virile, men take their pick of what little wealth you've managed to claim as your own over the course of your life? Please tell me that's not what you've amounted to in your twilight years, father dearest...'

Psychological torture is so much more effective than physical torture... ;)

Anyway, she's trying to Bluff the old man into spilling anything important - like where he keeps any other children, any bigger plans he's a part of... that sort of thing.

Tapestry:

I imagine these are the most valuable items he has- their total worth is around three thousand gold pieces, including a piece of jewellery belonging to the queen...

He stares at you in deep fear, shaking his head.

"Th-that's all I have, I swear. All that's left is a a desk upstairs with chump change. These items I kept myself, the broach was meant to be returned by me to get some leverage if I ever got arrested so she'd let me out." he's clearly very frightened of you having returned like this and acting this way. He seemed to always have feared you as you appear insane to him and acting this way just furthers his fear. "All I have left of any value, if what's in the old hatbox ontop of the dresser."

He visably shakes at this suggestion. He was very scared of you and trapped, wishing he could get out of this.

Female Tiefling Cleric of Calistria 2

'How,' Tapestry muses out loud, 'does a stolen broach give you "leverage" to get out of jail? Surely being found to be in possession of such a thing would get one in deeper trouble... Unless there's more of a story to it than that... Oh, do tell, father - you know how I love a good bedtime story...'

Completely ignoring Lamm once again, Curnach gestures to Aventi.

Perhaps check this hatbox Lamm mentioned, but be careful. I wouldn't put it past the old bastard to trap it if it contains his money...

Male Human Monk 2

The old hatbox on top of the dresser. Avanti will go back to room and indeed, he now sees the old hatbox. He will move closer and examines it for any trap (perception:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22). When he doesn´t find anything, he will bring it to front of everyone and open it there.

There are no traps, it's just a simple wooden hat box and as you open it you see the head of Zellara staring back at you. You can guess from the flies that it's been here for a while and someone has applied makeup to "pretty her up" in a crude attempt to give her rotting flesh a semblance of life. The stump it sat ontop of a smaller box and once you open it, there before you is his Harrow deck. The very same you saw the spirit playing with.

Well then. I guess we just need to find the children and then our job here is done. Krenn will meet Lamm's gaze as he starts to gut the gator then and there. He'll cut off large chucks of meat and throw them in the water for our good druid's new friend.

Female Tiefling Cleric of Calistria 2

'Oh dear, father,' Tapestry wrinkles her nose at the grusome sight in the hatbox, 'how very disappointing... and Master Weststone has declared our time here finished as well...' she leans her lips close to Lamm's ear and adds with a whisper, '... and you know how stubborn these dwarves can be...'

Leaning back again, hand still stroking the old man's hair, a somewhat sombre smile on her face, Tapestry continues,

'It seems it's time for you to make a choice, father. I'm of a mind to look after you personally, for the rest of your days... wouldn't that be fun? We could play all those games you taught me... and a few more I've dreamt up in the meantime! You know what a devoted daughter I am, father - I'd make sure that you were the only thing to get my attention, the very centre of my life... like it used to be, like the old days. I'd make sure you lived a very long, very interesting life, father - you'd never have a dull moment, I'm sure of that. And when the day finally came that you'd breathed your last, I could hand your immortal soul over to some long lost relatives of mine, so you could keep playing forever... Doesn't that sound nice? But... and here's the choice... but young Master Curnach is of a greener faith it seems... he'd prefer you to rejoin the cycle of nature by feeding yourself to his new shark friend... Apparantly there's a chance that would allow your soul to reincarnate with a clean slate, a new start... All you'd have to do is let the shark eat you... But I don't want you to take that quick path, father, I want you to choose me - I promise that nothing will be quick, and you'll have a long, long, time to spend recalling all the children you've helped over the years... and a longer time in eternity when it finally comes...'

She waits a few moments for the full implication of her words to sink in, then asks,

'What's it to be, father dearest? Me... or the shark?'

Old man Lamm had spent the majority of his years putting kids in fear and doing what he wanted with them. His greatest companion Gobblegut was dead and from what they had been saying, they hadn't freed the kids, meaning that his friends were still alive and he smirked at this revelation.

"Go to hell." he laughed at her, convinced that his days were numbered and he was going to die now, however he felt his companions would avenge his death. "I welcome death. It will put me with the gods so I can watch as you all die a horrible, painful death!" he sneered, these being the clear signs that he gave up hope and knew he would die.

I am guessing with the chum that Krenn has been throwing in, the shark is in the pool and near frenzied.

Krenn will stride over to Lamm full of purpose. He will pick him up, hoisting him over his head and walk to the edge of the pool.

At your word, Lady Tapestry.

"What kind of life do you offer me? I...could set the kids free if you are willing to let me get free?" he was clearly afraid of her and everyone else as he was making this bargin. "I won't cause anymore problems, I promise."

I know all about the Green Faith as a player, but Curnach's never really heard of it.

I'd sooner bargain with Asmodeus! May Dranngvit ensure you pay your debt in the afterlife as well!

Krenn will hoist Lamm into the pool, as close to the shark as he can.

He mutters Only seems right after he fed his victims to the gator.

Krenn will quickly finish gutting the gator, looking for anything in its digestive track that may be noteworthy. When he's done, he'll take its head and push any other remains into the water as well if no one wants to claim the hide.

That business done, he'll turn to the others, ready to finish cleaning out the fishery.

After that business is done, Curnach will cast Detect Magic on Zellara's Harrow Deck, suspicious that this ghost doesn't seem to be a conventional ghost according to Tapestry.

The deck of cards indeed glows magical. Every single card appears to be completely flawless too and as you look through them, you swear when you don't look at the faces that they are looking at you.

Since there's no actual explaination on how Gaedren's comrades get down there I'm going to do a bit of adhocing, hope you don't mind.

You notice a trapdoor in the ceiling with a old rope ladder, placed there for people to climb up and climb down. The trapdoor appears to be locked and you can hear the thumping of a large being above walking around.

Male Human Monk 2

If everyone is ready, I suggest we continue then. I will go first and stun anyone who is going to be threat after his speech Aventi will take a fast look that others heard him and are ready before approaching the rope ladder and begin climbing up. When he is top, he will take a look around.

Curnach:

Things are silent for a moment, but then you hear a familiar voice.
"Hello again, Curnach." from the way the voice sounds it sounds as if she's smiling "You have killed Lamm I assume?"

Gaedren Lamm screams out as he was fed to the shark, screaming in pain as the beast pulls him beneith the water, turning it red with his blood. You begin to hear gasps upstairs and you see many eyes looking down through a opening in the ceiling as various kids are looking down at what just happened.
"What are you little whelps doing? You keep stareing at gobblegut and I'll kick you to him myself! You first, dwarf child! Hehehe." You think the last part was a laugh from a big figure that's stepping towards the hole.

Aventi:

You manage to open and look up, seeing a large, burly half-orc making it's way to a opening that the kids are leering down into. This would be directly above Gobblegut if you had not had him gutted. He has a sheild strapped to the one arm and a flail in the other hand and he looks really nasty. You also see that he has a eyepatch over his left eye with many sucker marks on his face.

The Orc was totally surprised by this attack and you give him a good smack right in the face. His marking is very obvious to you now. There appear to be sucker marks like those of some kind of water creature. Your punch appears to have stunned him. The kids around cheer triumphantly and back away, not wanting to get involved. It's obvious to them that Gaedren Lamm is dead and they have nothing to fear with you taking on the half-orc who appears to be laughing after you punched him. He drops the flail after he was hit.

Round 1

Since Aventi attacked that was considered a surprise round. The Half-orc is by himself it seems.

Tapestry watches with a rather satisfied smile playing on her lips as Lamm gets eaten; then, when he's definitely dead, she sighs,

'He was a small man,' she concludes, 'right to the end... couldn't even grasp the scope of what was happening to him. I'd have prefered his full realisation of how little his life meant, and the eternal torment he now faces... but I guess it was too much to ask from one of such limited capacity... "father" always did disappoint, in everything he did...'

Looking at the others in turn she smoothes down her outfit,

'If you gentlemen are satisfied, and the Lady in the Room is satisfied, then I suggest to complete our revenge we forgot that man ever existed.'

Quote:
... And what is this "Green Faith" you speak of...?

'Hmmm?' Tapestry turns to Curnach, raising one eyebrow as she replies, 'Oh - I've learnt a little about a lot of religions over the years. It's a primal Faith of nature some folks follow. They have a belief in reincarnation as opposed to the final judgement advocated by most Golarion theologies... I was hoping to sweeten the lure of the "death by shark" as opposed to "eternal damnation" - would've been nice to have seen the old coot voluntarily throw himself in... but I just agreed not to mention him again, so...' she shrugs, '... I'd never claim to know your belief's, dear Curnach: it was just a ploy for my trick - a little play-acting if you will... I get like that sometimes... you'll get used to it, I'm sure...'

I never realised Tapestry was this fast... she's won ever initiative check!

I'm guessing Tapestry and the rest are still downstairs, whilst Aventi and the half-orc are upstairs? Well, I think I'll let the boys be boys...

Glancing up through the hole in the ceiling at what little of the scene above she can see, Tapestry steps over to put a hand on Althon's shoulder,

'Best go give our impetuous Aventi a hand, Althon darling - and may the Unquenchable Fire go with you.' She casts Guidance on Althon.

ahah, seems like that but our party own little big monk is always toe-to-toe / head banging against opponents first hand :P. Seems to be my role

When you roll good initiatives and poke your nose through doors first, yep!:)

Female Tiefling Cleric of Calistria 2

Yes - I have this sneaking feeling that Aventi is going to be a Cure sponge. ;)

Male Human Monk 2

ahah :D What else can I do? Aventi is stoic monk. Not so much a speaker than a hot-blooded extreme-close melee combatant, going around looking stuff and then along that maybe getting in fight. At least, it´s good to have harmony. When it´s time to talk, let´s talk, but he is talking more with fist, which I don´t really quite understand with that level of Int..hm...

Male Human (Shoanti) Cavalier * 2 (Order of the Cockatrice)

Round 2 Action:

2-Move actions:
(1)Althon sheaths his sword(move action) and drops his shield to the ground(free action)
(2)then climbs the rope(2nd move action)
Climb 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16

Round 2 (or 3 as the confusion appears to be)

Order:

Half-Orc
Tapesty
Althon Skyven
Avanti D'Gaudon
Curnach Daveck
Krenn Whetstone

The half-orc shakes off the stun and laughs. He provokes a attack of oppitunity picking up his flail and then swings it at the monk, striking him hard in the chest.

1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24

1d8 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

He laughs again and continues to look back into the pool below.
"Where is Lamm?!" he laughs again and looks over to the group who appear to be approching him.

I hope I didn't make him too powerful. No knowledge of monks, never played one but I think I knocked him into negative hitpoints. Con of 10...I never have a character with a Con of 10, but that's me personally.

Best to get a convention for this established early- DM, do you want the surprise round to be 'Round 1' or the first proper round to be 'Round 1'?

Also guys remember we had a surprise round too, we were scampering up the ladder after Aventi during it.

Previous Round, missed what he said.

the kids are not too sure what to do. The dwarf child looks over to Krenn, wanting to go to him, but they all start moving away.

"Mr...our friends are upstairs. Mr Balco is up there. What...what happened to Lamm?" they asked excitedly as they assumed the worse for Lamm "The door is locked and...Bloo is there." one of the snot nosed kids remind them and as that happens you start to hear barking up ahead, up the stairs.
