Just realised Kirilarien's detect evil ability is constant, but i'm not comfortable retconning the narrative at this point. I'll remember it in future. Also partly as a realisation and partly as compensation...
Kirilarien is aware that the Usurer radiates a Strong aura of evil and is extremely cautious around him.

Well if we consider ourselves in danger mode I propose we're sleeping inside an extended rope trick from Marcus. Happy to be at the end of any watch as Okoya suggests.
Guys I'm off on holidays today for a week to the Maldives. Get the impression net access is spotty if at all so please bot me in the interval.

DM Alexander Kilcoyne |

I have a deadline for the 29th and i'm 4000 words and a couple dozen references short so you won't hear from me until then. I will have another nasty deadline on the 3rd of May but i'l attempt to squeeze some posts in on the 30th. Sorry for the slowness on my part. I can confirm that Durin doesn't spot anything wandering the edge of the camp...

DM Aron Marczylo |

Will do, I need to pick up the pace too and not be a entertainer all the time lol.

** spoiler omitted **
OK maybe her concentration was overt or maybe he's just really suspicious.
OK had to doublecheck detect evil to confirm what that means but now I'm scared...
To be honest I simply completely forgot to declare a detect on the usurer and was actually going to bring that up IC later. I figure that while Kiri has detect evil and magic constant she still needs to actively concentrate spending actions where necessary (which is how I played out the ability during the giant fight).
But Ok assuming now I/she didn't forget.
I don't want to be too annoying with their uses (and to be honest I don't really like detects as spell likes) but I'd rather not play dumb and not use them when I should. I should think your trap houserule tones down constant detect magic and personally tend to think that illusions require interaction saves. Happy with any other house rules you want to put in place. I liked the lyraken more for theme and her mighty umd than being a detect bot.

I'll have Durin take a rank or 2 next level (assuming he lives that long :)
Still will only amount to a +5 or +6... but we should probably have some ability to navigate in the wilds. :P

Durin Stonehammer |

If we all die by getting lost I'll make a ranger next. :)

Durin Stonehammer |

Does this player have a name? :)

Durin Stonehammer |

Welcome Judd!
2 flaming red haired dwarves in the same company? What happens if they come into direct contact? ;)

"DON'T CROSS THE STREAMS!!!"
To quote Egon "It would be very bad."

For marching order what do people think of the following?
Barak at point.
Durin and Arachiel at the front.
Marcus and Zanzu in the middle.
Vincent and Kuhn-duhn at the back.
We're all mounted right?
Works for me.

Durin Stonehammer |

Marching order looks fine with me.
Durin is not mounted. (He doesn't like horses/ponies) :P
Take care Deevor. :)

Durin Stonehammer |

I hope he is still around. :(

Firstly, not a standard swarm (in many respects). Secondly, distraction implicitly states a fortitude save and the nauseated condition. Thirdly, Hardy applies so Barak passes. Fourthly, you wouldn't ask if you could roll your own 1d4 if I had rolled a 1 ;), so no, just bad luck there. Fifth(ly), no retcon.
Firstly, duly noted. Swarm spring attack?! :O
Secondly, I stand corrected on the distraction*. :P Lingering swarm distraction?! :O
(*Stupid swarm rules in the bestiary. Should be a line in there about distraction = nauseated without having to look elsewhere. :P )
Thirdly Yay! :)
Fourthly, Yes I would! :P
Fifthly, Boo! I even specifically reserved the right... ;)

Marcus Claudius Marcellus |

If anyone is wondering (probably not) I think the RAW is that Kiri needs to make a UMD check to use a CLW wand even with CLW as a spell like. For convenience I'm assuming everyone is OK with handing a wand around outside of combat (and the DM will let us know if possession at any particular moment becomes relevant ie we get ambushed while healing).
I say this now as I think we will be buying and going through wands like crazy. It certainly seems like the old school style of game where comsumable resources critical to survival.
Is Barak familiar with our loot approach from SS DM? I think we're all just assuming so given its basically your preferred approach?

Durin Stonehammer |

I'll need a refresher too as I haven't actually been part of a split before. :)

Marcus Claudius Marcellus |

I think the same as Kingmaker? DM?
Edit: May as well tote it out.
Convert loot to sale value. Equal shares with a share for group consumables.
Put your hand up for items found. Roll off if necessary to resolve competing claims (though don't think we ever needed to, people pretty good about giving to whoever best). Pay its sale value out of your share.
We found so many consumables for SS I don't think we ever got around to needing a seperate share. We just had those in a pool and divided them around.
Same for my LOF and yeah Kingmaker or so I thought.
Only breaks down if you find a useful singleton that warps things but never had to worry about that for SS. And never had to deal with splitting up a spellbook.
I'm sure someone will remind me if I've forgotten anything.

Durin Stonehammer |

Sounds the same as KM. Just wanted to make sure their weren't any group quirks. :)

Durin Stonehammer |

The funny thing is... Kip has only claimed one item in KM so far (apart from a perhaps a few minor consumables), and that was a wand which he quickly unclaimed. :P
Scanning over his character sheet, pretty much everything he has currently, he purchased himself.
And see, if it was up to me, wands of lightning bolt and the like would be considered a consumable party item. :)
