I'll take 21 charges of Haste vs 42 charges of LB any day... SOLD! ;)
We could also sell via a proxy NPC to get full value as THEY aren't a PC... :D
And that market existed when PCs could craft things at half price. ;)
lol

Kip Bendybrook |

I am off to Arizona for a week... likely won't have internet access. Sorry for the inconvenience. DMNPC Kip as needed.

DM Alexander Kilcoyne |

Please feel free to add a bit of narrative based on the recent events or simply describing your characters activities as the month slowly ends. I think at this point you need to decide whats being sold in the kingdom's districts and we'll wrap up the kingdom turn.
You should sort out loot before you ride out again too...
Edit: Swordhaven (with fixed houses and functioning tradesman) image updated in campaign info.

Casimir |

Yup, I'm curious to see how much cash on hand we each have. My sword could use an upgrade.
Also, it's about time my sword got a name, especially since it is now my Arcane Bond.
So...Cleft, Liberator...meet Brightclaw.

Malthir Al Dagon |

Why do guys always feel the need to name their "weapons"? :D
I'm off to the airport... so someone else will have to handle loot distribution... sorry again. I promise things will get back to normal in a week. :)
hmmmph, I had just pawned that off on you...now you give it back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol's
I will try to throw it together by Sunday and give everyone their numbers. Of course Ricter still owe's the team some cash for his weapon...not exactly sure where that stands, probably within my power to figure it out...

Malthir Al Dagon |

As usual, items below 4,000GP worth can't be sold for BP, but go towards the current towards 4,000 pool.
Swordhaven Minor-
Potion of Cats Grace (300GP, can't be sold for BP)
Swordhaven Medium-
Scroll of Sepia Snake Sigil (875GP, can't be sold for BP)
+3 Mithril Chain Shirt- (10,100GP)
Vierkirche Minor-
+1 Silver Longspear (2,485GP, can't be sold for BP)
+1 Club (2,300GP, can't be sold for BP)
Vierkirche Medium-
+2 Splint Mail (4,000GP)
+1 Throwing Axe (2,308GP, can't be sold for BP)
Alex,
Are the Splint +2 and the Mithral Chain shirt +3 worth 8 BP each as medium items per the rules or did we house rule this? I have the party treasure pretty much done but wanted to confirm how this is working again before doing the final determination. Thanks!
Malthir Al Dagon |

Alex, would like to make a suggestion since we have had our BP generation limited quite a bit.
Can we have the ability to move items to cities that can sell them for a better profit? Basically if a city has a 50gp item that month, can we move an item from another city there to sell it as long as it is an item that could be sold in that market in the first place?
Example, Vierkirche has no real medium items. Can we ride the mithral chain there to sell while we sell big H's morningstar in Swordhaven?
That would at least make up a little the BP we are no longer going to get.
Also can you go ahead and outline the thresholds for item BP?
Is is 6000/8000/10000gp for example that makes an item worth 8BP?

DM Alexander Kilcoyne |

Moving items around to different cities is going to get pretty complex fast and I don't really like the implications of it. Will have to say no to that one i'm afraid.
I'll get back to you on the thresholds, still thinking it over. For now... the items in question sell as mediums depite their low GP value. This will likely change next kingdom building turn.

Malthir Al Dagon |

Malthir suggests to Casimir that he change his focus on to the Merchants to make sure we collect all of the Kingdom's taxes correctly for a little while. Hopefully the Hellknights will help keep things calm.
This will change his focus from Stability to Economy. Without his focus we are still at a +32 with a DC 37. That's onlky a 20% failure chance.
Suggest we sell Harlgulka's weapon in SwordHaven and the splint in Vierkirche as well as the minor item in Northgreen.
Big H Weapon Economy 1d20 + 50 ⇒ (4) + 50 = 54
Splint Mail in V Economy 1d20 + 50 ⇒ (2) + 50 = 52
Potion in Invisibility in NorthGreen Economy 1d20 + 50 ⇒ (10) + 50 = 60
The +50 is due to the Tradesmen coming back on line and Casimir's update, if he doesn't agree we can just back these rolls down by 5.
Econ roll for BP generation.
Economy 1d20 + 50 ⇒ (16) + 50 = 66

Malthir Al Dagon |

Okay I just posted the updated End of Turn 29 Kingdom sheet.
Just completed the treasure shares as well.
Each person gets 5373.69gp except for Ricter who get zero. He pays off his debt to the party for his weapon by giving up his share to us as long as he doesn't claim any treasure.
He is short by a couple of hundred GP but I figured we would let it slide.
I also just posted the treasure sheet as well. Kip owes me big... :)

Malthir Al Dagon |

You are correct Sir Alex, it was the only item for sale above 4000gp!
At least we have a clean start now.
Malthir will be buying the potion of Cure Moderate Wounds (300gp) in SwordHaven BTW as well as the following:
Bless 50gp
Expeditious Retreat 50gp
Enlarge 50gp
Have Fenna Upgrade shield from +1 to +2 3000gp
Purchase one of the rings of Protection +1 1000gp
Total spend: 4450gp.
Let me know if you see anything of concern by the time we start the next month, otherwise I will update Malthir.

Casimir |

BW there is now 7198gp in the party treasury, so we could re-stock a couple of things as needed. Maybe buy that wand of Haste for Kip for a start?
Agreed, no reason for Kip to have to trade in the wand of lightning bolt on his own dime, especially since he won't benefit from it at all.
In fact, since Cas also has haste on his spell list, he would gladly volunteer to carry the wand, to free up Kip to cast some more offensive spells right from the word go.
I'll check and see if I need to buy anything special, but I'm probably going to save most of my share to upgrade my weapon.

DM Alexander Kilcoyne |

I think we should keep the silver longspear for now...someone might need a reach and/or silver weapon at some point, and the value isn't very high.
I'll need it specified as bought by XX and carried on character XX.
Same with any group potions, wands etc.
'Floating' equipment is a pet bugbear of mine.

Casimir |

I think we should keep the silver longspear for now...someone might need a reach and/or silver weapon at some point, and the value isn't very high.
For the record, Casimir's mithril sword counts as silver, but it wouldn't hurt to have an additional silver/reach weapon. I guess either Ricter or Malthir would carry it.

DM Alexander Kilcoyne |

Btw, when determining modifiers for leadership the only one that applies is the +2 for having a stronghold, and Malthir's trait bonus. I'm going to waive the 'cohort must be of same alignment' penalty, 'special power' is far too ambigious so i've ignored it, and fairness and generosity is also ignored.
Great Renown will come into play, but you haven't yet earnt it. I'll make it clear when you do.
TLDR: +2 to leadership scores for now, unless your Malthir.

Malthir Al Dagon |

Cas, do you have a list of the quests we have still open?
Wasn't there one around an Elven artifact we could give to a noble? Have we completed any others we need to get resolved?
Here it is: Lady Teskertin's quest...
Wasn't there also one about a Forest Dragon? Edit: Make that a Green Dragon...even better...lol's

Ricter Vorsk |

Most of my cut is going towards paying off what I owe for this fine flail. I'll pass on borrowing even more for the ring of protection, though I [b]will[b] buy a composite longbow built for a +4 strength bonus for 500gp.
Do we have to track and pay for arrows?

Malthir Al Dagon |

Everyone is pretty much holding onto their stash for a larger item, feel free to use one of the rings for now unless all 3 have been claimed and just pay Malthir back once we get the next treasure share. Might as well improve your defenses while we are waiting?
I will reduce my treasure share by 1000gp and lend the extra +1 ring to Ricter. If he ends up not wanting it later on I can still sell it for the same cash.

DM Alexander Kilcoyne |

Audit:
Ricter-
Still has the Ring of Protection listed. The money for that has to come from somewhere, I will assume its confirmed that Malthir loans Ricter the cash.
In addition, the Amulet of Natural armour your wearing is listed under Defence but not Equipment; if its an item you were wearing without it being bought with your share (seems likely) it is assumed to be sold unless Malthir or someone else is willing to lend you an additional 2,000GP.
Character sheet needs updating to reflect level up changes.
Malthir-
Looks good.
Casimir-
CMD is a static value, if i'm being nitpicky about it. Otherwise, looks good.
Kalev-
Looks good.
Fenna-
Looks good.
Kip-
Looks good.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Important-
Remember that when shopping or anything magic, you have to roll 75 or less on a D% to find it if its not something in a magic item slot, once per month- unless its covered by the 10% house-rule I included. As Swordhaven's base value is currently 5,900GP, anything magical over 590GP in value must be rolled for.
At the moment, I believe this is just the wand of haste you were talking about (possibly Kalev's potion of CSW too at a glance, please confirm). I also need to know whos carrying it.
If in doubt, roll and I'm sure someone will correct you.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
To proceed-
Ricter's character sheet needs updating, as well as some clarity over whether hes buying a bow and about the amulet of natural armour.
Other than that and wanting the wand situation resolved... I'm pretty much ready to press on.

Ricter Vorsk |

The amulet of natural armour is being sold, the ring of protection is being loaned to me by Malthir afaik.
Character sheet updated, masterwork composite longbow with +4 strength mod added.
Total spend
800gp for composite bow
1000gp for ring of protection
Remaining cut spent paying off flail
Ricter is lucky credit cards don't exist in Glorian

Malthir Al Dagon |

the other 800gp can be if needed, going to update my treasure total and magic purchases, including the upgrade to my shield, they are the only things I think that needs to be trued up...just let me know Ricter....
4221gp starting + 5379=9594gp-4450gp-1000gp(ring for Ricter)=4144gp

Re: Laws... I think some of the obvious issues are-
Crime and Punishment
Magical Resurrection/Raising- who qualifies?
Immigration Policy
Who can own Land?
Slavery
Religion
Use of Enchantment Magic
Permitted Alignments (And Legality on Use of Detection Spells- do you want Detect Evil to be used on your cities borders?)

Fenna Thistleswade |

I'll look at getting some laws put into writing over the weekend, but what are people's thoughts on the above?
Fenna's initial position:
Crime and Punishment:
Magical Resurrection/Raising- who qualifies?:
Statkari who meet an unnatural end as a result of their service to Kardas can expect to be raised.
Begin to introduce Ricter's idea by creating an official title/rank for those who serve directly below the Statkari, who can expect reincarnation/restoration.
All other individuals harmed in service to the kingdom are entitled to any non-expensive magical healing they require.
All the above to be limited based on the individual's independent wealth; if they can easily afford to pay for themselves, they should do so.
Immigration Policy:
Any who are willing to pay their taxes and abide by our laws should be welcome.
Who can own Land?:
All land is leased to individuals by the kingdom.
Slavery:
In line with the River Freedoms, slavery is not permitted within the borders of Kardas; all enslaved individuals are considered free upon entry.
Religion:
So long as religious groups declare themselves to the authorities, and do not work against the people or nation of Kardas, they are free to worship as they please.
Use of Enchantment Magic:
Any enchantment effect designed to limit or remove free will is to be considered an offensive spell, and treated much like an evocation - which is to say there are justifiable uses, but reckless or malicious use is punishable.
Permitted Alignments (And Legality on Use of Detection Spells- do you want Detect Evil to be used on your cities borders?):
Use of alignment detection magic at city gates is more likely to lead to a false sense of security than reduce danger. Use of such spells is to be considered in line with detect thoughts. An individuals alignment shouldn't be used as sole justification for any official decision to be made about them, but may be used to provide context for their actions.

Hey guys. I am back home. Sorry for the long absence, but didn't have internet available where I was and no time/too busy to find any. Had a long day of flights today, will post tomorrow after some sleep.
Cheers
