I'm debating whether to get +1 Ranger or multi-class to Barbarian.
Ranger gives me an extra use of Ranger's Focus per day (+4 to hit/damage against 1 opponent, unlimited duration), Woodland Stride and 2nd level ranger spells.
Barbarian gives me faster movement and rage (about 6 rounds per day)
I also want to hear if I can change Pushing Assault out of Furious Focus. I don't believe I've actually used the feat and it seems very suboptimal when I'll either be fighting large creatures or one rounding lesser opponents.
That brings me to my 7th level feat. I originally planned on taking Combat Patrol, but I'm reconsidering, as 1) that will pratically reduce my actions in combat to typing "I enter Combat Patrol Stance" and 2) it may be hell for Alex to administer. So, any other suggestions for 7th level feat?
My bardiche needs fixed...and when I have the money and we have the means upgraded to +2 Keen...I don't want it breaking again anytime soon.
DM Alexander Kilcoyne
I'm happy to assume the Bardiche is fixed in downtime- perhaps by Casimir or someone elses friendly team from Leadership.
Yes to changing Pushing Assault. I don't recall you ever using it so yeah, just remember to make sure you only trade it for something you could have gained at the level you gained it (especially if you took it as a Ranger bonus feat).
I can handle Combat Patrol if it still appeals to you.
As for feat suggestions- I think its high time Kalev took Toughness. Theres ample justification for the feat choice at any rate :P.
Kalev Lehola
I know not of what you speak :P
I believe I took Pushing Assault as my 6th level ranger bonus feat. I know I could take Furious Focus at that point, and given that I "always" power attack, that seems like a good choice.
Besides Combat Assault (or Toughness), I also considered Cleave. The penalty to AC is bearable, especially with a reach weapon, and the damage potential is...intimidating.

Hello, everyone.
Alex wrote to me (we have PM now?!) and let me know that people were worried about me and whether or not I was still alive.
First, I am alive, thankfully. The flooding we experienced a while ago led to structural damage of the house we were renting. This led to a contractor tearing out rotting drywall, which revealed extensive black mold. This led to losing most of our earthly possessions, including wedding and baby photos, and an incredible amount of stress all around. We had to find a new place to live. I got realllly stressed and dumped a lot of things to try to free up some mental space.
Second, I'm sorry. Really, really sorry. I dumped on you guys. I should have at least let you know so people weren't worried about me. That is completely my fault and I apologize.
I am thinking about getting back into roleplay gaming in the near future, so I will lurk for a bit and try to catch up on what has been happening with Paizo and Pathfinder since I last visited.
Thank you all, and good gaming.
JaceDK
Tanner! Good to hear from you, man.
No need to apologize - real life happens, and you are hardly the first person to vanish from these boards without a trace. I'm personally just happy to hear that you are all right, all things considered.
Sounds like you guys had a rough time. Hope you are doing all right now, and are settled in a new place to live.

I am just glad to hear that you are safe and sound Tanner! I missed you buddy! :)
I'm sorry to hear about your troubles and hope things are looking up for you.
I look forward to seeing you around the boards and hope you continue to lurk this game.
(And to everyone else... The move is in its final stages... Computer is boxed and internet is limited to my phone only. Hoping to be back up by Monday. Sorry for the poor timing :)
Tanner Nielsen
Thanks, guys. I appreciate the well wishes. Why can't real life just be more accommodating, huh? :)

You mean, other than the big RPG Superstar 2012 logo at the top left of the page? I've got links in my profile to all my submissions.

Hi Tanner,
Glad you are ok, but sorry to hear about all the trouble you've been through. Hope you can replace some of the lost possessions (any copies or negatives of pictures lying around you could get, for instance).
And be glad it wasn't brown mold. That CR 2 critter nearly TPK'ed my weekly group (5 level 5 characters), because they didn't heed the warnings or used their knowledge about the monster.

Ah sorry, forgot about that...will you take a look and see if it is ok. If not, I will choose something else as my default spell.
Kip Bendybrook
Sorry guys, the move is still kicking my but... please DMNPC me for a few more days when required to keep things going. I will try and pop in with input when I can... but won't likely have time to deal with mechanics. Before I decide on whether or not to keep Craft Magic Arms and Armour, would a follower of CL less than 6 be able to upgrade a +2 weapon to add a weapon property? Because if so, the feat only saves us a few thousand gp each, but if you need to have the minimum caster level to craft an item before you can make changes to it, then things might get expensive in the long run.
Alexander Kilcoyne
|
The mininum CL for the actual enhancements (+1, +2, +3) is enforced- the rest is hand-waivable (adds +5 to the DC which is usually still auto-pass), so they don't need to be able to craft a +3 sword to add flaming to it, for example.
Remember though, +'s on a weapon are a bit beefier than they were in 3.5. In particular, a high enough + allows a weapon to count as a specific type of weapon for the purpose of damage reduction.
DR Type Weapon Enhancement Bonus Equivalent
Cold iron / silver +3
Adamantine* +4
Alignment-based +5
*Does not bypass hardness like a true adamantine weapon.

Its totally your call on the feat Fenna, if you do keep it though Malthir will be utilizing it very often as should the other Guardians including yourself....
Fenna Thistleswade
Okay, considering how much of a hard time I'm having finding a feat to take in its place, I think I'll keep hold of it, and I'll hold off on Leadership until level 9 when Vierkirche should be up and running a little more.

Revelation:
Moonlight Bridge (Su): You summon a bridge of shimmering moonlight. The 10-foot-wide span touches the ground at a point adjacent to your position. From this point it can extend in any direction for 10 feet per oracle level. The path persists until you have crossed over the bridge or for 24 hours, whichever is shorter. You may summon a moonlight bridge a number of times per day equal to your Charisma bonus. Should the bridge be attacked, treat it as a wall of force.
Feats:
7th level: Spell Focus (Illusion)
5th level: keeping Craft Magic Arms and Armour

Oh and Fenna- I assume you guessed we would use your cha modifier instead of your wisdom for Spiritual Weapon. It seems obvious to me but the amount of threads I see arguing for it to use wisdom for Oracles makes me want to specify it.
Fenna Thistleswade
Seemed pretty obvious to me too, but then I searched the forums to double check and found those threads you mention... but I also found your post on the issue in your Serpent's Skull campaign, so I went ahead.

Spiritual Weapon-
As many may have suspected, all references to 'Wisdom' in the case of an Oracle casting the spell should be replaced with 'Charisma', so as not to unnecessarily gimp the Oracle.
Totem Warrior Barbarian Archetype-
In exchange for the ability to have more than one totem, a Barbarian taking the Totem Warrior archetype must exchange Fast Movement for this abiity.

Kip is accurate.
Malthir Al Dagon
Malthir's are good for perception and init.
Malthir will ask Fenna to enchant his shield to +2 (3 days) and keep the +1 ring of protection while on break.
Alex, let us know when you are ready for us to do the kingdom turn and we can start the rolls.
We probably need to adjust the leadership roles if we are going to offer Ricter one? Any suggestions? Ricter for general, Kalev stays as Marshall?
Kip Bendybrook
I like the flavor of Ricter as "general-for-hire" and Kalev remaining marshal, as that is really his forte.
Kip Bendybrook
Still haven't locked in Kip's 7th level spell selections. Here is what I am thinking, and some of the alternates.
Level 0: Touch of Fatigue (Open/close)
Level 1: Charm Person (Magic Missile, Protection from Evil)
Level 2: Touch of Idiocy (Eagle's Splendor)
Level 3: Fly, Hold Person (Dispel Magic, Spiked Pit, Stinking Cloud)
Considerations:
Kip have a rod of reach to use with the touch spells.
Enchantment spells receive a bonus to DC via spell focus.
Compulsion spells receive a bonus to DC via bloodline power.
Many of Kip's spells are close range... he could use some medium or longer range spells.
I think a wand of haste is a good idea. :) (And will be exchanging "his" wand of lightning bolt for something else sooner than later)
Same with potions of enlarge, or a wand of enlarge, mass if other's wish to partake in the fun. ;)
Fenna has taken Dispel Magic.
I'm pretty solid on Fly as one of Kip's 3rd level choices.
Eagle's Splendor will give a +2 bonus to the DC for all of Kip's spells. (making Hold Person + Eagle's Splendor = save DC of 23!)
Thoughts/suggestions/comments? :)
DM Alexander Kilcoyne
Eagles Splendor doesn't stack with headband so is only +1 to DC, and it gets pretty obselete fairly fast. My only thought is that Magic Missiles a highly underrated spell :).
One of the rings of protection definitely went to Ricter- in fact i'm fairly sure they temporarily went to Ricter and Kalev and not to Malthir.
Remember, anything with a sale value of 4,000GP or more (only a few items there I believe such as the morningstar) needs to be sold via your kingdoms market to liquidate it into GP, as a Minor item (so DC20). If the sale value is equal to or exceeds 8,000, it must be sold as a Medium item (DC35) and if it is equal to or exceeds 16,000 is must be sold as a Major item (DC50)
The above statement has been added to the rules in Campaign Info for your convenience.
As always, one economy check per city district- you need to work out what your selling with economy checks before you start rolling, whether its some of your treasure horde or some of the items in the slots of the districts. I believe most of your loots sale value is less than 4,000GP anyway.
Kip, would work in your favor to work in GP with your wand. You have to fill up the donation pool to 4,000GP to get 1BP. Your looking at 1K + the cost of the spellcasters service for Reincarnate, more for Raise Dead, and more if you want the restorations bought.
A pair of Restorations alone cost 1BP.
Value of the mostly depleted necklace is 1,000GP, for a sale value of 500GP.
Kalev Lehola
Kalev is fine with Ricter acting general.
Rolls look fine.
Kip, I suggest Magic Missile. At level 7+, it becomes a potent first level spell that can only be countered by a few spells/SR. 8-20 points of damage guaranteed is good, especially against incorporeal creatures and the like.
Malthir Al Dagon
So- we can get the ball rolling on the kingdom turn BUT you must declare what your selling through your three districts before you roll the economy checks!
We also need the open slots filled in the cities before we rolls the econ checks.

I have been trying to sell Haste for sometime now....it is THE best 3rd level spell out there. +1 to hit, +1 to AC, +1 Reflex save, more movement, and 1 additional attack...so far I haven't bee very convincing.

As usual, items below 4,000GP worth can't be sold for BP, but go towards the current towards 4,000 pool.
Swordhaven Minor-
Potion of Cats Grace (300GP, can't be sold for BP)
Swordhaven Medium-
Scroll of Sepia Snake Sigil (875GP, can't be sold for BP)
+3 Mithril Chain Shirt- (10,100GP)

+1 Club (2,300GP, can't be sold for BP)
Vierkirche Medium-

Casimir
+3 Mithril Chain Shirt- (10,100GP)

On the subject of haste - if Kip doesn't pick the spell, Casimir will take it once he dings to level 9. One possibility would be for Kip to take it now, and then switch it out once Casimir grabs it. He can do that at level 10, so we would have one level where we both have it.
Alternatively, we can rely on scrolls/wands, but that is an expensive option.

Are everyone's profiles updated yet btw?
If you wish (and if you feel very kind) you can put your important stats that I need to frequently check (HP, AC, CMD, Saves, Perception, Initiative, AOO etc.) into the 'Gender' section of your profile for easy reference.
For clarity, i'll only want baseline stats- i'll remember and record the changes when you buff, debuff etc.
The only one you'd need to keep up to date is HP (and as long as your keeping it up to date somewhere, say in your posts each combat round, you don't even need to update it in the parentheses). Set it up like I have done for this character, or in a similar manner.
Kip Bendybrook
What about trading the wand of Lightning Bolt in for one of Haste? A straight across trade would give us 42 charges...
And I will update Kip's profile later today... after making some final decisions... :)
