I know theres a school of thought that DM's should never Sunder PC's weapons.
Its obvious I don't subscribe to it i'm afraid. Especially in PF, where a destroyed weapon isn't destroyed wealth like it used to be.
Well... make whole works, but it needs to be CL20 for a destroyed keen weapon. Unless you're willing to overlook the double caster level requirement, of course.

The issue isn't with the fact you sundered a PC's weapon... but that you very likely added the Improved Sunder feat to Hargulka to better facilitate that strategy. That is just plain mean! :D

After a brain storming session with Jacob Trier over MSN, i've decided to house rule the way fuse grenades work. We were both unhappy that an intelligent foe will ALWAYS get a chance to hurl it back as long as it has actions and I was particularly unhappy that its detonation count is tied to a PC's initiative count, leading to strange things like if the thrower delays, the grenade explodes later.
As with all my house rules, the change is now visible in the Campaign Info for perusal. Here is the text-
Changes to the 'Fuse Grenade' Item-
1. The fuse grenade explodes on its own initiative count, which is equal to the PC's initiative count when he lights the grenade. If the PC should delay, ready an action or have his initiative changed by any way whatsoever, the fuse grenade retains the original initiative count.
2. The fuse grenade has a chance of exploding the same round it is thrown. The 1d3 rounds duration has been house ruled to 1d4-1, meaning that it might essentially explode the same turn it is thrown (on the roll of a 1, making a 0 rounds duration total).
Fenna Thistleswade
With a 0 round countdown, does it explode at the end of the initiative count, rather than the beginning? I'm guessing it doesn't immediately explode in the hands of the one who lights it.
Or would it explode at the end of the attack roll to throw it, potentially catching someone who drops it and runs?

Whats that grandchild? You want the story of Kardas' fall again little one? Very well. I'll continue where I left off- Kalev and Hargulka, Varnhold's greatest foes.
Varn cleared his throat and puts on his best "Storytime" voice-
"They fell into the now-legendary conjured pit as enemies on opposite sides of a war- they emerged brothers in arms, Troll and Half-Orc, The Scourge of Kardas..."
"The Monsters Rise"- Coming soon to a Bardic Performance near YOU!

Hey everyone,
I am entering a busy couple of weeks... we are moving to our new acreage starting today! Things will be in flux for the next 2 weeks as we move and settle in and then the wife and I are going to Arizona for spring break (sans kids).
I will do my best to keep up my posting but if you don't hear from me for a length, please feel free to DMNPC my character if I am holding things up.
Things should return to normal in April.
(All this really means is that I will likely only post once a day, rather than the usual multiple posts. ;)
Lets keep the momentum going!
Cheers!

Disappointed that the Hideous Laughter stuck- I think Hargulka had things well in hand even down in the pit. Still, Kip's first pit was a solid tactical move even if it hindered you. It prevented Hargulka from full attacking which would have killed Kalev for sure at that HP.
We have some admin to deal with too- Malthir can you make sure the kingdom stats are up to date.
Malthir Al Dagon
Okay, I added the new map as well as the latest Kingdom tracking sheet tot he group site. I checked the posts to make sure we hadn't gotten any further.
Basically the map change was adding the hex with the Fey Keep we explored.
The Kingdom chnage was just adding the latest spreadsheet which is the basline before this month (Month's 29) activities like changing leadership or anything. I believe these are all correct.
Alex and group let me know if you have any questions or remember anything different as far as exploring any territory but the keep was the last hex we explored as far as I can remember.

Kingdom Summary-
Army Cost-
Raising the Kardas militia cost the kingdom a total of 14BP, reducing your treasury to 5BP.
City Damage-
The focus of Hargulka's forces was on Kardasholme and most damage is superficial. Nevertheless, one housing district was destroyed (the house beside Lombard's loans, causing that Tradesman to stop functioning until the houses are re-built). Rebuilding a destroyed housing district is cheaper than building a new one- it will cost 2BP.
Net Effects-
Unrest-
2 unrest gained (includes 1 unrest from destroyed house) + 1d6 ⇒ 4 for the death of Kesten Garess and a single point for the death of Kundal- a popular member of the local community despite his ex-lycanthropism.
Hargulka has been defeated, but his attack on the very capital of the realm has deeply unsettled the people of Kardas, as has the massacre of the militia force that so bravely defended Kardasholme. Kesten Garess perished defending the walls to the last man and his solid presence is sorely missed.
However, the Guardians eventual victory helps to offset the stinging losses (2 unrest lost).
Total Unrest Gained- 5
"Non-Functioning" Tradesman Building
These effects are removed as soon as the housing district next to Lombard's Loans is repaired.
-500GP city base value
-1 Economy
-1 Stability
Leadership Gap-
Kesten's +3 bonus to stability is removed, and his stability penalty of -4 is immediately applied until the position is filled (I assume next kingdom turn).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Heres a link to your city of Swordhaven. The red circles denote damaged buildings and the yellow circle denotes the unfunctioning tradesman building. I hope the awfulness of my botch job in paint will spur you on to repair them quickly.

Announcement-
On the trusty campaign info page (the tab to the left of gameplay) is a new section that looks exactly like this-
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- -
Cities of Kardas-
Swordhaven-
Vierkirche-
Northgreen-
Last Updated- 13/03/2012
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I will be using this section to keep your cities up to date graphically. Its not purely for aesthetics, as some buildings need an adjacent house etc. etc. The 'Last Updated' line should help you determine whether i've added your new buildings yet and nudge me if necessary.
Thought it would help you to be able to reference how everything looks as well as just the spreadsheet telling you what building is where. I'll make seperate district maps for each district but at the moment, you only have one district for each city.
Now- back to the game! The people of Kardas demand speeches! Kip demands an accurate XP count! Kesten Garess' family demand his possessions, or a raise or reincarnate! I demand that roles be played!
GET ON IT GUARDIANS!
DM Alexander Kilcoyne
I don't want to flood the IC, so i'm flooding the OOC instead.
Hargulka's Swag-
Necklace of Fireballs Type 4 with one 4d6 fireball and two 2d6 fireballs remaining
Large +2 Hide Armour
+2 Darkwood Thundering Morningstar
A rusty key (found wedged inside a skull on his bracelet).
It will probably have occured to the Guardians that the various rumours of caravans being attacked, the village you saw sacked etc. will have led to the trolls having sizeable wealth wherever they marched from- wealth you may be in dire need of to help stabilise Kardas.

Here is a tentative plan for month's 29 activities, we can't do much as we have little funds and a lot of unrest/change to deal with. I also posted up month 29 start with the loss of Kesten and the unrest to support this.

I do not have the time right now for RP or lengthy posting... but here are KIP's thoughts on some pressing issues in no particular order...
Kip's position is that Kesten should be raised... as a Stratkari killed in defense of the realm and during execution of his duties.
Kundal should also be rewarded... but his case is trickier. Reincarnate? Raise dead as well?
Kip will donate "his" wand of lightning bolt to help cover the costs...
Kip feels Kalev should become general... but understands his resistance. With Kressle filling a role as well.
Ricter is also a very tricky issue... he has served well... but Kip is reluctant to put someone who answers to another outside body on the Kardas' ruling council. EDIT: Alex points out Ricter's lawfulness... make him swear to put Kardas' interests and laws first as a member of the statkari etc. Maybe Ricter for general could be swung. ;)
I do need the XP to add up... we should likely level as a result. We need Hargulka and troll ambush at the tower.
Will also try and update the almanac if I get a chance. :P
And yes... we should retrieve whatever wealth we left at the tower and find Hargulka's stash as well...
Anything else? I'll try and post more later. :)
*leaves to go load more boxes into the trailer.*
EDIT: Oh yeah... Kip wants Hargulka's charred skull... he plans to make a seat for himself out of it. :D

I am thinking that Raise dead will be tough.
We have no one that can cast it to start.
We can probably raise the 6000gp to fund it but can we find 5000gp in diamond dust?
Remember we will only have 8 days (was 9) to try and get this accomplished before we need a resurrect.
Not saying we shouldn't try...just want to bring those points up.
I assume we will probably have to go to Restov or similar to make this happen?
DM Alexander Kilcoyne
Gentle Repose gives you more time.
It would be more feasible to try and acquire a scroll of it in Swordhaven than go to Restov (if it falls within your cities base value).
If you recall, the political situation in Brevoys getting pretty hairy and no matter how discreet you try and make your visit, it will no doubt have consequences.
Reincarnate is much easier to acquire- your Fey allies in the Narlmarches probably have or know of a Druid.
DM Alexander Kilcoyne
The XP is enough for you to hit level 7- I don't expect any combats to hit you so you can go ahead and update your characters to that level, as always some downtime is required but its too late in the month to realistically venture out and get back in time for kindgom building anyway.
Thus, level 7 changes take effect at the start of the next month.
Please post ALL changes to the discussion thread as per usual please- ESPECIALLY initiative and perception modifier changes.
Malthir Al Dagon
Since this is the first real downtime since the change to the crafting feats, is it okay if I take the opportunity to retrain craft magic arms and armour?
I guess you won't be upgrading the enchanment on Mathir armor during the downtime then... :[
What are we going to do about any crafting? Rely on city purchases?
Malthir Al Dagon
Malthir is looking to move a +1 armor item to a +2 item....3000gp difference. The issue is finding someone capable of casting it. I guess if Casimir takes the feat we might be covered then.
Leadership was on my list of feats as well.
Other potentials are Extra Channel. I have enough LOH's but could use some more ability to heal the rest of the team. Mine is now up to 4d6.
Selective Channeling
Shield Wall *If Ricter were to take it as well*
Furious Focus
Fenna Thistleswade
Actually, on reading the changes to leadership more closely, if we rely on followers to upgrade our items, then we'll not be able to get +2 weapons and armour until 12th level (due to the CL limit of half our character level,) so it might be worth keeping hold of craft magic arms and armour.
If it was half our leadership score to a maximum of our character level -1, we'd be in the clear.
Casimir
Casimir's shortlist of Feats is Leadership or Cornugon Smash. The revised Vital Strike was on there as well, but Casimir doesn't actually have +6 BAB yet, so...
Looks like we could replace almost all of the casualties on our own, if everyone are going for Leadership :-).
