Where did my post go? Something with my browser is crossing wires or something. I will be more careful in what I have open when posting things. I am 100% sure that the strange appearance of the replacement post was done in the OOC thread (I scrolled up to reference things before posting it) but it ended up in the IC thread. I think with me loading multiple windows and such that the Paizo site and my browser had a problem somewhere along the line. That is probably what happened earlier when a post was put in the wrong forum. Like I said, being more careful from now on.
As for the name, Guardians of the Greenbelt is good with me. Though it does tie us to the geographic feature that may make our group sound awkward in the future when we get super powerful and more awesome. But, I'm OK with that if other folks like it too.
Anyway, we always can get green belts for everyone in company.

Well, Guardians of the Greenbelt will cover you for at least 2/3 chapters; and your characters dont know that their fates will eventually take them elsewhere :)
Yeah I witnessed your post shuffling, it was bizarre. The forums are playing up for me too this evening. If i'd have lost my loooooooong post and not saved it before hand to notepad, I seriously might have ragequitted for the evening lol

All,
I'm still here. I was going to post last night but with all the great RP I didn't feel like I could do justice with a quick post before bed. Seeing that there were 25+ more posts again all full of great RP I've resigned myself the the fact that I'll just have to post something short and concise on each topic just to get Edric up to speed.
Posting will be a little random for the time being so there isn't really a great time for me as far a combat and the like. I live in NY (EST) and currently I'm working Mondays and Fridays 7am-3pm and can usually post at least twice at work. Saturday and Sunday I work 7am-7pm and can post at least once an hour. Tuesday-Thursday I'm off and with the new job and a move coming up I'm pretty busy. That and that’s when I'm spending time with my wife and 2 year old daughter so its hard to get to the computer. Starting in July I'll be working Mon-Fri 8-4 not sure how much time I'll have at work to post but I should get a chance to post in the morning before work and in the evening after putting our daughter to bed.
Edric will take the Composite bow for now as well as the leather armor. He currently has a light crossbow that he is willing to give to Vaysh since she doesn’t seem to have any ranged weapons. Casimir can have the shield of faith position since Edric will normally have his hands full with his shield and lance.
I too vote for Guardians of the Greenbelt.
Hope I didn't miss anything.
Thanks,
Evan

Yeah these guys do burn through the RP :P I have to spend a good hour crafting a post just to respond and keep up lol. On this topic we've made over 200 IC posts in a week, and some of them have been huge!
For Vaysh' clarity, are you taking Happs studded leather or a suit of leather armour?

What about Conception? that's really the big convention over here.
Not even heard of it. As a student with limited finances and transport I have only begun to start looking into cons.

Speaking of absense, the weekend after this one I am doing my annual guys trip, you know no wife, beer, hot strippers, good bars, and lots of lake time...anyways as a warning my posting will be spotty that weekend. If I get caught posting geek stuff I will be forced to pound shots. I am the only geek in the group, well most of them are losers anyways, but they don't game...

this is the homepage, it's the 26th-30th January just outside Bournemouth, so not far from you at all. There's lots of PFS there, and a bunch of other games too, it's definitely my favourite con of the year.
Vaysh
Ah, I miss cons. My wife has very poor health due to some deadly allergies and severe asthma. Around 6 years ago she was in the hospital for 4 separate visits where she ended up on life support each time. Since then we have not made it to cons, though we used to go to them frequently and run RPGA events for people.
She and I both miss doing them a lot, but life goes on.
Have a fun time at PaizoCon UK when that comes up, or any other cons any of you go to for us.
I miss doing the RPGA games, though since it became the WotC Organization I have liked it a lot less. Much prefer PFS, though I haven't played any of it.
As for the RP, do you want me to slow down? I can be quieter, I promise! See, I'll show you....isn't that quiet? I bet you had no idea I could be quiet for that long. I sure showed you. Anyway, someone wanna RP? Oh ya, Fenna dropped a comment to me. Time to go reply.
Casimir
Casimir grabs the Shield of Faith as well, then.
Alex, what is your ruling on the Adventurer's Sash?
This bandoleer holds six pouches along its length and a satchel at the hip. Each pouch has a stiff leather flap that can be secured against jostling with a clasp (requiring a move action to open or close) or left unfastened for easier access. The pouches and satchel each contain a number of loops and ties for further securing equipment. The sash buckles at the shoulder, and can be freed with a sharp tug in an emergency as a move action.
What kind of action is it to retrieve something (a potion for example), from one of the unfastened pouches on the bandoleer - move? swift? free?.
In any event, I'd probably like to retcon a bit and add an Adventurer's sash as part of my starting gear. I'll make the necessary adjustments to my stat block.

I must admit that the sheer volume of RP from Vaysh can be overwhelming at times - but absolutely in a good way. I'm amazed at how you can push out such amounts of text - and I write for a living.
I feel hard-pressed to keep up some times, but the interaction with Vaysh and the rest of the group - and the excellent NPCs - really gets my creative juices flowing. And it's a nice change of pace from the texts I usually write at work.

I'll say swift for now; if your leaving a potion unclasped it may fall out or break if you run or charge though, so generally i'll probably assume you keep them clasped unless you declare otherwise. Useful if you know your about to get combat though.

Super. That's how I would play it too. Assume I purchased one before I left Restov. I store my potions and alchemical items in the bandoleer pouches (details of what I have where are on the website.).

That sounds like a blast!
I can see it now: Malthir in the middle of a lap-dance, beer in hand, pulls out an iPhone and says: Excuse me, miss. I just have to Lay on Hands. *Faceslap* "You ain't layin' no hand's nowhere, creep!

Sold Loot
Dagger (2 gp)
Longsword (15 gp)
Three longbows (300 gp)
Five short swords (50 gp)
Four sets of leather armour (40 gp)
That nets us 223 gold, 8 silver, and 5 copper. We spend 100 gold on the Antitoxins that Oleg has in stock, still profiting us 123 gold, 8 silver, and 5 copper.
Casimir has brought up his thoughts on loot and such, Vaysh mentioned hers but was good with Casimir's suggestion. Fenna passed on voting. Not sure if I should record this separate or not, so I will for the moment.
And who wants the Antitoxins? They weigh nothing. I also pocketed one of the Alchemist Fires since Casimir spoke up for one. If someone else wants it, that is fine with me, it is still in my weight allowance from what I remember (time to see if that is right).

Remember Oleg gave you a slightly better price than standard prices for selling; 55% as opposed to 50%.
Vaysh
I did sell at the 55% that you stated we would get. I also did subtract the money that the Antitoxins cost us. I was aware that they were not a gift, not sure if somewhere I mentioned that they were.
Will put an IC post up later tonight. Trying to get some home game stuff finished for the week, but L5R 4th Edition is making me want to read it. Flipped through the book and thought that it was a very nice looking book, now to try and understand some of it...or try when I have the time to do it.

L5R hmm? Was fun for a while for me, then the novelty wore off. Much like WoD.
Vaysh
I have been playing with L5R since the RPG came out, though never has it become the most serious of my games. I have a lot of different games on my shelf. Favorites include Shadowrun, Hero System, L5R, WoD (Old, not new), Changeling the Dreaming (sure it is covered by WoD, but it is so different and I love it so much that it deserves special mention), DnD (1st through 3.5), and Pathfinder. I have probably missed some out of my list, but those are the ones that come to mind or I can see from where I am sitting.
So many different games, so little time.
I run a game of L5R for my group at times. Nice change from DnD.
Casimir
My gaming experiences include D&D (2nd ed AD&D to 4E), Trinity and of course Pathfinder.
I have a copy of Aces & Eights (western rpg) on my shelf, but have not had a chance to play it. I would also like to try Traveler, but have not had an opportunity for that either.
Vaysh
I have some familiarity with Traveler, though have not played it.
Aces & Eights I know of, but haven't ever touched any of it. My wife is not a western fan, though I love the genre. I don't really get why she doesn't like it, she loves all the elements that go into westerns.
Casimir
I'm carrying the potion of CLW, an alchemist's fire and a vial of antitoxin in my Adventurer's sash. I'll remove the SoF from my inventory as well.
And can I just say that my respect for Alex as a GM grows by leaps and bounds for every encounter!
I was certain that we were all going to die - and I've felt like that for every encounter except for the very first one. And the ending on this one just blew me away. I absolutely love the idea of going another round or two with Kressle. Of course, I would want to gain a level or two first, in order to live through it.
DM Alexander Kilcoyne
I've updated the Almenac on the campaign website and added the rumors we picked up at Oleg's under "World Happenings"
Cheers for that, and the nice feedback. Frankly i've been worrying my GMing hasn't been doing you guys justice; i'm still making the transition from RL to PBP and forget to clarify things sometimes; without the back and forth of a RL game its not always clear.
I haven't touched the group site much yet, but it will see greater usage as the campaign goes on especially in chapter 2...
Casimir
Speaking of the horses, I would suggest that we trade them in for ones with Combat training, if Oleg can arrange it - at least the ones used to ride.
Here are some quick calculations I threw together.
Basic assumptions:
We get a set of MW tools for Mal and both Edric and Casimir help out with Aid another. This gives us a total modifier of 13 at the current level.
Average roll of 10 gives us a 23 crafting check every week multiplied by the item DC. Divided by 7 for work every day of the week. The time to make the basic item varies a bit, from 3 days (buckler) to 30 days (Breastplate). MW component is a standard at 23 days.
We upgrade every piece of armor/shield to MW quality, and give Mal and Edric a breastplate and hwy steel shield each. That brings total production time to:
Buckler: 25 days
Steel shield: 26 days
Steel shield: 26 days
Breastplate 53 days
Breastplate 53 days
Chain shirt: 38 days
Studded leather: 27 days
Total time required: 248 days.
Total cost (finished armor): 1630 gp
Total material cost: 543,30 gp
So if we assume that there will be days we won't be able to work, we should be done in a years time and we will have saved 1.086 gp. Of course, by that time we should hopefully be so high level that we would all want magical armor.
Bonus info:
A MW full plate would take 253 days to make.
