These high-soled blue boots provide a great deal of comfort and arch support while also making the wearer appear a little bit taller than normal. The boot's wearer always takes the minimum possible damage from falls (as if the GM had rolled a 1 on each die of damage incurred by the fall) and at the end of a fall always lands on his feet.

And Barael is staunching the loss of Charisma by wearing the Headband, so as to preserve his Ki a little more...


The gemstone has little value - just 250gp, but I did miss it. There are also four MW Kukri that the party gained which I don't see listed anywhere so I'll add those as well.

And Briar owes 5000gp in loads for the Rod.

Briar's truer wealth might be (depending on how you count crafting) closer to: 54-5.5-2250-5000= 41250 gp.

Also, he has used some of his crafted scrolls, but that has been a surprisingly small value on them.

An FYI to our party's many spellcasters:

Fondo's Tactician ability allows him to grant everyone the below feat twice per day, for 5 rounds. The upshot is that if you have overlapping prepared spells, you could get +4 to spell penetration checks, and +1 to CL. Fondo would be more than happy to be of service!

Allied Spellcaster (Teamwork)
With the aid of an ally, you are skilled at piercing the protections of other creatures with your spells.

Benefit: Whenever you are adjacent to an ally who also has this feat, you receive a +2 competence bonus on level checks made to overcome spell resistance. If your ally has the same spell prepared (or known with a slot available if they are spontaneous spellcasters), this bonus increases to +4 and you receive a +1 bonus to the caster level for all level-dependent variables, such as duration, range, and effect.

You're the boss, and I defer to you. But I'm not sure how an onlooker would distinguish bardic performance from really good encouragement. It has no flashing lights style special effect and no spell components. Just performance, which I've always taken to be either pretty exceptional singing, instrumentals, or exceptional oratory. It's a 'supernatural' ability, but I'm really unclear how it stands out in terms of the senses. I suppose if some tribal shaman had Detect Magic up full time, that'd make sense...

With a frothing face of fury strapped in front of him, I'm not sure how easy it would be for Nik to see Fondo performing, only hear him.


I agree it would be quite difficult to distinguish between bardic performance from encouragement and your bluff will be modified as a result. I just want to make it clear it's a breaking of the 'rules' or intent of the Sredna. I don't doubt your ability to get away with it...

I don't think it would detect as magic.

I guess my interpretation of bardic performance is that the performer doesn't even necessarily think of it as some magical intervention. He might know that his words carry extra weight, but would he actually think in his head, "For the next six seconds I'm going to give my friends a bonus to hit and damage"? I suspect it might vary, but don't think that's how Fondo is thinking about it most of the time.


Hrm. I don't think that's right. The performer knows when they're doing 'something special' and putting their all into the performance. Otherwise those rounds of supernatural performance would go away during the morning practice session over breakfast.

I think Fondo knows when he's doing something extra special. He has to. He orates all the time and only sometimes it's a 'Performance'. :)

I agree though that it's not thought of as 'magical' intervention. Just an extra effort on the part of the performer - an effort that takes a lot out of them and so they can only do it a few minutes each day.

Oh, well putting his all into a performance and knowing it's special is a bit different than thinking, "Now I'm going to give everyone +2." He knows he can be extra inspiring when it counts, but I don't think he thinks of it in the same way as, say, "I know I can cast magic missile once today." It's splitting hairs to an extent.
