We really need to organize things. I do not understand what half the party is doing now. My plan was to search the different levels, and several people then went in different directions - staying on the ship and wandering outside. Initially, I went to the ship not realizing that there were things in the tower. If we all want this campaign to end quickly, then lets keep splitting up. Otherwise, we need to work like a party and communicate.

Also, I believe I searched all the levels, but had really bad rolls on some of them. Others might want to redo these searches.

Yes, we're definitely scattered around the place at the moment. I agree that we should group up and focus on one thing.

As far as re-searching the levels goes, I'm willing to help do so, and the stones in the closet definitely provide justification to search again if we want to.

Book of War Prayers: This small, leather-bound collection of war prayers features pages of fine vellum. If you have a Charisma of 13 or higher, or at least 1 rank in Perform (oratory), you can read aloud prayers from the book before battle to hearten others for the trials to come. Reading prayers for this effect takes 10 minutes. You grant those who hear your prayers a +2 morale bonus on the next saving throw against fear they attempt, as long as that saving throw is made in the next 24 hours.

Energy Resistance would be good. an everburning torch

Potion of Eagle's Splendor and another Elixir of Truth

Potion of Tongues and the Flute Hymn carries.

As for Zanthias, how about a Sin eater, he can take on the guilt of others

Coagial Tome on the skiff, or ask questions holding your dagger. Fresh blood enhances either."

Sin Eater was discussed earlier... Keeya or anyone else have information on such a creature?

Sin Eater (Archetype):

There is a sect of inquisitors in some religions that believes it is not enough to hunt the enemies of the church—one must also devour those enemies' sins. More benign versions of the practice believe that sin, or evil, is taken out of the world when a sin is devoured, denying the enemy's soul to the enemy's god and purifying the world of its taint. Followers of malevolent churches believe that consuming the sins of good folk not only corrupts the enemy soul to keep it from the celestial planes, but also taints the souls of those who witness the sin-eating or the corpse of its victim. Consuming sins empowers the sin eater, at least for a time.

Eat Sin (Sp): At 1st level, as a free action, when the sin eater inquisitor kills an enemy, she may eat the sins of that enemy by spending 1 minute adjacent to its corpse. This provokes attacks of opportunity. The inquisitor can rush this ritual, performing it as a full-round action that provokes attacks of opportunity, but she only gains half the normal benefit (see below).

Eating the enemy's sins heals the inquisitor of a number of hit points of damage equal to 1d8 + her inquisitor level (maximum +5). The enemy must have been killed by the sin eater within the last hour, and it must have had at least as many Hit Dice as half the inquisitor's level. The inquisitor can use this ability once for each enemy she kills. This ability has no effect on mindless creatures or those with Intelligence 2 or less.

At 5th level, the healing increases to 2d8 plus her inquisitor level (maximum +10); it increases to 3d8 + her inquisitor level (maximum +15) at 9th level and to 4d8 + her inquisitor level (maximum +20) at 13th level.

In some faiths, this “eating” is a purely symbolic act, while in others, the inquisitor must eat a small amount of food and water as part of the ritual. A few extreme faiths actually require the inquisitor to eat some of the body of the slain enemy.

At 8th level, when a sin eater eats the sins of a creature that would rise as an undead (such as someone slain by a shadow, spectre, or vampire), the sin eater may choose to accept 1 temporary negative level to absorb the taint in the corpse, preventing it from rising as an undead. This negative level can be removed with the appropriate magic, though it automatically expires after 24 hours, and never becomes a permanent negative level. At the GM's discretion, this ability may prevent a ghost from using its rejuvenation ability.

This ability replaces an inquisitor's domain.

Speak with Dead (Sp): At 6th level, when the inquisitor eats an enemy's sins, within 10 minutes of doing so, she can ask the remnants of the enemy's soul questions as if using speak with dead, with a caster level equal to her inquisitor level. She does not need the enemy's corpse to use this ability (she can eat sin, move away from the corpse, then use speak with dead), though the soul gets a saving throw just as a corpse would. This ability replaces the bonus teamwork feat gained at 6th level.

Burden of Sin (Sp): At 14th level, a sin eater may spend a full-round action to transfer one harmful affliction, condition, or spell effect from another creature to herself (this includes curses, possessions, and permanent effects such as petrification, or any condition that break enchantment can end or reverse). The effect to be transferred is chosen by the sin eater and affects her as if she were the original target, continuing its duration (if any) and preventing any further effect on the original bearer. For example, the inquisitor could transfer a lethal disease to herself, or petrify herself to restore a petrified comrade. The sin eater can use this ability as often as desired, even using it multiple times on the same creature. This ability replaces exploit weakness.

Life as they say gets you, I'm sorry to say with work, family difficulty's. I'm dropping out all but one of my Pazio PbP games.
Pazio was a great distraction but life moves on.

@GM Wolf - without Keeya, are we going to keep with the Sky Ship? Her character was definitely the key of that idea. Not sure how we would move, although if there is astral projection of some sort, then we will be able to move quickly. Otherwise there is the old tried and trusted use of feet.

I don't mind pushing things, but don't really want to be the one pushing the campaign all the time. RL has tied my up and two other campaigns that I thought were dead have just restarted. I would like this to continue as I like the concept, but we really need to organize as a group. Right now I am confused about the doors/stones and am hoping that someone else will take the lead.


I am sure once the group leaves the tower the dynamic of the group will pick up. Xenia go ahead and push it full speed until someone else jumps in! ;) Otherwise I guess your little halfling friend will start messing with the situation.

Yeh, it is some type of a bug in the programming. Surprised they have not found it. As I mentioned, I think that I have seen this happen in at least 3-4 other campaigns I have been in. Glad it worked.


Sorry everyone I have been given an extra workload right now and my insomnia has been kicking my butt. So I have been trying to catch up on sleep and can now understand why sometimes you can't get posts up. Please forgive me and I will have us caught up soon!

I am starting to get lost on what is happening here. We have lost several players and keep having players wander off doing their own thing.

I like the idea for this campaign, but the posting is becoming so inconsistent that I am really lost on what is going on. If people are not able to keep up consistent posting, perhaps we should shut this campaign down.

So far, Aref left the game. Keeya wandered off by herself and then dropped out of the game. Hymn has now wandered away from the rest of the party twice. And, Flame has not posted in a month. If the play is going to continue like this, I do not think that I will be able to enjoy this game as having to look back through a dozen or more posts gets really frustrating quick.


I understand Xenia. It is rather frustrating to me as well. Though I will keep this game going as long as there is one player. We are down to a 4 man group now so it should still work, plus any NPCs that you guys bring along.

Right now Serra and Donovan are past the puzzle and in a 'treasure' room. They found a lady and when Serra tried to take the veil off her she was cursed.

The halfling is waiting outside of the puzzle door.

Hymn went up to the flying ship to help get it set with Keeya.

Xenia I believe you are with the halfling and flame, at least in the same room. You can go in and investigate if you want.

I am waiting on actions from players, I can't do much considering my NPC has been told to take a rest and there is no changes yet.

I will start bringing in 'changes' if you guys don't post each day. I will keep the game going one way or another.

Why not jump in? Clearly there's battle going on, It's probable that Hymn would've heard or seen something (intruders entering tower from outside perhaps?) that would lead him to go down to check on the others.


Serra has a valid point, then again perhaps he is busy with his own baker's dozen of demons. Either way Humn can join the fight or have a nice story to tell.


Sorry everyone, I have been rather busy this week and dead tired. I actually got some good sleep on Thursday, I crashed from 4 p.m. to about noon on Friday. Then Halloween showed its ugly head and life sucked me away again. Yes it was a long week. I am just catching up and hope to keep things going smoothly this weekend and the days following.
