Yekskya, have just been wondering: as a former slave, how does Yeks feel about the Freeman's Brotherhood? Having come from Mwangi/Sargava, I think he'd be at least aware of them, though during the time that he was a slave they would have been known more as an underground network helping slaves and stealing from colonials than the insurgency operating today.

If you hear about Krolmnite, Maudrill and me killing some of them and/or delivering them to the waiting hands of the guard... Please let us explain! ^^;

My posting is going to be a bit spotty over next week and a half, am volunteering at Commonwealth Games as well as being out of town. I will do my best to keep updates coming while I still have access to computer, but after the weekend it will be week of 11th august before I'm back posting regularly again.
Apart from that, I'm doing my best to up the frequency of updates, but for now RL is conspiring against me. Thanks for being patient so far, I'm excited about where these games are going and intend to keep going as long as we still have active players.

Quinta |

My home internet is being ... less than cooperative (again), and I may not be able to come online everyday. Please don't think that I've given up on the game! I hope service will return to normal soon; feel free to DMPC me if that should become necessary.

Yekskya |

Heads up that I'm likely to have few if any updates until Tue Aug 19 or Wed Aug 20 due to
1. Important pitch this week
2. Losing several days to Gen Con (every slot is full)
3. Taking my oldest off to college
Always a chance I'll slip a post in here or there, but please GMPC me as needed to keep things moving.

Maudrill |

So with the release of the final version of the Advanced Class Guide and the corresponding archetypes, could I alter Maudrill a bit? I want to give him the elemental master archetype and have him focus on fire spells.

Krolmnite the Brave |

I'd like to see that archetype in action, Maudrill. I'm keen on arcane casting, and most of the arcanist archetypes looked really cool.

I regret to report that my home network is giving me the finger once again. My posting may be patchy for the foreseeable future. >_<; Please DMPC me if necessary...

Hey guys, still here. Apologies for the delay, was caught up with work last week and then me and the family were all down with sickness bugs. Will hopefully be back to regular postings, but I am aware that things have really slowed down of late. As long as you all are still keen, I'd like to keep going, it may be I should drop one of my games I'm Gming, but I'd rather not if I can. If you can suggest any things that can speed up play I'd be all ears, cuz I can see a lot of exciting encounters ahead and I'd like to give your characters a chance to experience them. A lot of you guys are in my other games, so you'll have seen this message there too.

At three rounds of duration and the celestial eagle with smite, it definitely provides some utility!
Same thoughts for me CHH as in the other thread. I don't mind having some slower PbP games since I'm in some fast ones. However, this group feels like one that would like to pick it up a bit.

Quinta |

You're definitely getting your money's worth out of those spells!
It was really useful during the first Serpent's Skull-game I ran Quinta in, too. ^^ The battle in the cannibal chief's house would have gone very nasty if I hadn't been able to summon eagles against the dretch and the Witch.

Heads up that I may not be able to post again until Monday or Tuesday so please GMPC or PCPC if needed to keep the action flowing. I have a very full day of business travel tomorrow followed by a Con where I have heavy GM duties on Fri-Sat-Sun. Monday will be catching up on work and hopefully most PbPs, but I should be fully caught up by Tuesday.

I'll be out of town for the weekend, so next update will be Monday or Tuesday.
By the way, has anyone read Michael J. Sullivan's Riyria novels? I've just finished reading Theft of Swords (aka The Crown Conspiracy and Avempartha). The characters could be straight from a Pathfinder game, it was fun. I was especially interested in the author's take on the different fantasy races.

Same here! Hope everyone enjoyed the holidays. I'd hoped to get a post or two up before the festivities started, but my time's not really been my own recently. Just writing next post now, it should be up presently.
BTW, has anyone played or run the Emerald Spire megadungeon? I got the print book at Christmas, it looks very exciting.

Krolmnite the Brave |

I'm in the second level currently, also via PBP. I hated the first level due to the same problem Yekskya mentioned. I'm enjoying level two much more right now.

Excellent! Sounds like fun. I think I'm at capacity for running games, so I might hold off on reading more and see if a new game is kicking off to play in.
I also came across another great new book - "The Martian" by Andy Weir. A bit of a cross between "Apollo 13" and "Castaway". I totally recommend it.

Quinta, just to clear things up about Pathfinder bards. You don't need to Spellsong to cast cure light wounds and maintain performance. You can maintain performance as a free action and cast all you want once you have performance initiated. Every bard can do that regardless of feats.
Spellsong allows you to do two different things. 1. It lets you disguise the fact that you are casting a spell. 2. It also allows you to maintain a spell that your are concentrating on while casting another spell.
Those both have handy uses, but want to make sure you know that you can maintain your performance and cast a spell without using Spellsong. I know it seems too good to be true, but it is. Bards got a lot better.

Zaghigoth Stormbile |

I played a gnome bard in a 3rd Edition campaign that had a keen interest on the planes and elementals...ended up taking a prestige class called the Bonded Summoner, which grants an elemental as a companion that progresses with you at the cost of spellcasting progression (and 0 bard syngery, really). Evenetually, it turns out that having a 48,000 pound tireless rock-man that can walk through walls is pretty game breaking, especially when you are underground.

Hooray for level-up! ^^
HP: 3 + 1 + 2 Con. modifier +1 favoured class (37)
Base attack +1 (+2)
Saves: +1 Will save (+8)
Magic:
Spell slots: +1 1st; +3 spell slots to 2nd.
Spells known: +1 to 0 and 2nd.
Selected spells: 0 - Prestidigitation; 2 - Summon monster II
Feats: Whip Mastery (I know this may seem an odd choice for a caster, but I figure with the few spells known I have, it's for the best to have something to fall back on in combat situations. That, and the whip is a cool weapon to master, and it slots well into my previous feat-choices. ;) Metamagic feats can come when I hit higher spell-levels.)
