Thanks for checking in, Game tab is up.

While it doesnt REALLY matter, I have to ask, does the fact that im written as "the 7th" mean I only got in because there were only 7 of us?

Please tell me I get to throw the halfling at something/someone at some point. Fastball Special style.

Please?

Takesh, if Wildheart ever verbalizes, I'm going to do so in Telugu, as translated by Google Translate. I figure it's alien looking enough to pass for Enuka.

Example:

వైల్డ్ హార్ట్

I wrote you are the 7th because I was only going to take 6 and was being nice. Drop the attitude.

Male Half-Elf Oracle of Time (Dual-Cursed) 1 (HP 9/9) (AC 16/11/15) (CMD 15) (Fort +1, Ref +1, Will +0) (Init +3) (Perception +5)

Reporting for duty :-)

Not really an attitude, was just curious, but ok.

Dark Archive

Male Human Dungeon Master

@ Sizerox "While it Doesn't REALLY matter..." This looked like attitude from me, if you are unaware when you use capitals it is like yelling or putting an emphasis on something.

As far as rolls go, I ask that you make your own rolls. This lets me know you are paying attention and know why you are rolling. I have done the rolls for my players in the past in an attempt to speed things up, it ended up backfiring on me. So I ask that you make your own rolls with the exception of perception based rolls.

While I can understand that argument to a very limited extent. I've always preferred the story to the mechanics. If one of our players is only on the boards once a day and their only contribution to the thread for that day is

Fortitude check for nosebleed: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

The story is left lacking.

Dark Archive

Male Human Dungeon Master

If all you post is your save, then you are doing something wrong. The roll tells you the mechanics, then you act it out.

Foritude check for nosebleed - you made it

Then you post

Ha! I told you I could take punch to face, comere little blue man let me show you real punch. ect ect

I think we'll be fine with what ever makes it easiest for you to run the game in your style. Getting off to a bit rocky start if the arguing is to commence in the first post, lmao.

Through the door that opens by itself you get a glimpse that the other room has escaped prisoners that are currently engaged with the strange constructs. The door closes again and you feel the ship taking a dive and can feel your insides climbing with the inertia. There is a loud alarm and red flashing lights in your compartment.

Roll Fort Saves

If all I post is my save. I am following instruction.

Edit: I am going to withdraw myself from the campaign, with apologies to YoricksRequiem and Nimon. I am generally not one to argue with a GM and don't feel I've represented myself well to start off.

Again, apologies.

Yeah that sounds good. If all you want to do is follow instructions blindly this is not going to be a PbP for you. Why don't you make a game and show me how its done. I'd like to play in one myself seeing as how I'm GMing 4 at the moment, and have been doing PbP for a few years.

When we don't know the DC we're aiming for, we can't do much more than roll because we don't know if we've succeded or not. I don't think anyone has reroll at +? abilties or add +? before you roll abilities, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Dark Archive

Male Human Dungeon Master

Yes, and typically I would give you a DC, or I would do something like

Knowledge Religion DC 20:
You recognize the man's holy symbol is of Desna.
In this instance, this one instance your fort save depended on how well you went over or under the DC. So instead of making multipul [spoilers I just had you roll. SORRY IF I PUT YOU ALL OUT I KNOW ITS DIFFICULT!

I am no longer interested in GMing this for you guys good luck in the future. Maybe cut your GM a break in the future and just go with the flow.

If a few posts from people giving suggestions is too much for you, you might want to consider a GMing hiatus for a little while.

If it mattered, and we didn't know the DC, then you rolling our Fort saves for us would have been a better way to do it, especially since failing left people unconscious.

My apologies. I was just trying to help.

Well that fell apart rather quickly.

Totally understand. <3 Give me a holler if you ever have a similar game starting up, I'd love to give these characters another go.

Dark Archive

Male Human Fighter (Lore Warden) 9

@YoricksRequiem: Sure thing.

Apologies to everyone, at this point, for being contentious.

Hahaha. Guys, take it easy. No need for so much hostility here. The game just started moving. Let's keep it going. I am sure that there was just a bit of a misunderstanding that has gotten a little out of whack. It will be fine. Just don't get personal with each other. ;)

Yeah im cautiously optimistic that this will still keep going. The setting is just too tempting to try to give up on it.

Feel free to take over since your so full of suggestions. I never have had such a group of ungrateful players. Nothing I did was good enough, that is fine then do it yourself.

Never have I seen a DM react so violently to a simple suggestion. You crafted a game that promised to be wonderful, and let it fall apart over nothing. You told one player to drop an attitude that wasn't there, but maybe you are the one with an attitude.

If any player still wants to play their character, send me a a PM.

I may have taken what you said to serious and perhaps put a snide twist on it that wasn't there. I am trying to socialize more and I do have troubles with people which is why I do PbP. I know it is no excuse, but I have changed my medications and therapy. My wife read my posts and says I am being nuts. So I am sorry I am a bit nuts I am a veteran and even though I hate to admit it I do have PTSD(But I do work and I do not just use it as an excuse to live off the government.)

It is me that should be sorry. I have had so much fun and success in PbP that I might have bitten off more than I can chew with a 4th campaign. I will try to do it better though and implement some of the suggestions and put a bit more time into this one than I have. If you all want to continue on after all this awkwardness I will attempt to redeem myself.

I'm still good. I have learned to let things slide here, lol.

I need to learn to be more like you. It has been hard readjusting, harder than I ever imagined it would be. Thank you for your patience.

PTSD? Thats some pretty heavy stuff, sorry to hear it.

As for the game, I was willing to continue even before learning that your posts were not reflective of your personality, so I say "lets do it!"

@Gregory, did he fail to accepts Sizeroxs hand and greet him because you forgot it or because he actually didnt wanna shake his hand? Dont wanna jump the gun and make a post about how Sizerox is offended :)

I missed that.

I will make an edit :-)

I will be at my local game store hosting a Dragon Age RPG session for most of the day for Table Top day so I may post later this evening.

Started playing Dragon Age a few weeks ago myself. It's a pretty cool system.

Sorry for the lack of posting - I have been without computer access for four days :-/

Rest assured, this will *not* (hopefully!) be a regular occurance.

Dark Archive

Male Human Dungeon Master

You have it right Gregory, just some technological bits are fine, here is a quote from the book "Creating prototypes consumes raw materials, but machinesmiths regularly collect odd bits and pieces of scrap in their travels, making the cost of these materials insignificant" and all though it is not as clear about Great Works, I will say that works the same for you ok. Once you get a chance you can put your 8 hours into creating one and infuse it with your Mobius energy.

Was going to post this in game play, but it is pretty large and don't want to take up that much game space.

Are any of the enemies within five feet of me?

Dark Archive

Male Human Dungeon Master

No, but you could take a move action to be within 5'. You are currently in the center of a walkway that has become enclosed into a cave that is 20' high by 30' wide. The Skulks are coming from along side the walls in a failed attempt at an ambush. I hope that makes it a bit clearer.

Dark Archive

Male Human Dungeon Master

If you tell me you are going to attack one in melee, I will make the assumption that you do move up to close with them. If there is threat of AoO I usually will inform you of it. In this case though you all beat them on initiative so they are Flat Footed and lacking of AoOs(future encounters may include creatures with combat reflexes or other abilities that allow them to ignore the flat footed condition, but this isn't one of them).
