Crios Greymantle |
Thank you for the shield of faith!
Kivuli Greyfeather |
So, with two round to prep, I will activate Shield off my want and drink an extract of Long Arm.
Quick question after seeing the map, are we defending one wagon or all three? If all three, Kivuli will suggest our ranged assets move to the middle wagon.
Kuriq |
Sorry guys! I didn't realise combat had started in the last page.
Kuriq prepares himself for the oncoming battle, he moves himself into the middle wagon and await for enemy charge.
Move and ready action to fire any enemy within clear sight (thinking over the cliff)
+1 longbow; bless; pbs: 1d20 + 9 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 9 + 1 + 1 = 181d8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 1 = 3
Kivuli Greyfeather |
Kivuli heads to the cliff face and finds a niche to hide. The rogue intends to remain unseen in the hope of catching one of the raiders off guard.
Stealth: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (7) + 21 = 28
With Long Arm, I have an extra 5' reach for the next three minutes.
Potential AoO/Sneak: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12 for Damage: 1d6 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15 and possibly Sneak Attack: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2
Anduris Kreel |
Anduris takes the time to first use his longstrider wand then his shield wand.
UMD: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32 longstrider
UMD: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29 shield
Chaosorbit |
Kivuli sneaks into position ready for the enemy, Kuriq likewise gets into position with his bow.
The orcs begin descending from cave mouth, two of them moving very fast. Crios sees two more are moving a little slower.

Ranalus |
Any chance for Ranalus to see the moving invisible foes? Are they kicking up dust as they run?
Perception: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (11) + 20 = 31
Chaosorbit |
@Ranalus - With a 31 perception you do notice dust kicking up, pinpointing the exact location is difficult, but the general area you can discern.
Ranalus |
Okay, Ranalus will move and ready to cast Sound Burst when he can catch more than one orc descending the cliff (being alert for sounds and signs of invisible foes moving).
Hopefully they'll be stunned, but even if not the damage will force another Climb check.
It's only a DC 15 Fort save to negate the stun. This doesn't affect damage, which is
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 3, 10' radius.
Crios Greymantle |
Crios calls upon his hex arcana of flight to enhance his mobility on the field. He then steps closer to Kuriq and keeps his eyes out for when the invisible orcs start to come down the embankment, preparing to let his team know where to target attacks.
Now I should be able to get to anywhere on the field. I figure I can help Ranalus be sure where to target his area effect spell while giving the rest of the team squares to target if they need it.
Reavis Smoot |
Reavis advances 20 feet north, then throws a special explosive bomb at the green orc.
Using Directed Blast to turn my explosive splash into a 30 foot cone originating at the green orc rather than a 10 foot radius around him. My objective is to get the blue orc with the splash, but the two invisible ones will be caught in it as well.

Fire Damage: 3d6 + 8 ⇒ (4, 3, 6) + 8 = 21
Blue, Orange, and Yellow need to make DC 18 Reflex saves. If they fail, they take 11 Fire damage, if they success they only take 5.

orange save DC18: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Reavis launches his bomb at the lead orc scoring a direct hit. The orcs shout in pain as the fire burns them, even the invisible ones.
Ranalus readies his sound burst. Crios enhances his mobility positions himself.

Seeing his allies moving beyond his position, Kivuli reasons there will be too few raiders coming his way, so he runs up to engage the enemy. Taking advantage of his enhanced reach, he strikes at the green clad orc.
Estoc: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22 for Damage: 1d6 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20
Seeing more of the horde on the way, the rogue hope to catch one of them unaware as they move in to strike.

Yellow jump climb: 1d20 + 10 - 5 ⇒ (18) + 10 - 5 = 23
Kuriq continues to scan with his bow ready to fire.
Kivuli springs into action, slicing the green clad orc deeply with his Estoc. The orc looks badly injured and steps back and heaves a tanglefoot bag at Kivuli, while another in a blue kilt runs forward and throws a tanglefoot bag at Anduris. Both the bags hit exploding sticky goo all over.
An entangled creature takes a –2 penalty on attack rolls and a –4 penalty to Dexterity and must make a DC 15 Reflex save or be glued to the floor, unable to move.
Even on a successful save, it can move only at half speed.
A creature that is glued to the floor can break free by making a DC 17 Strength check or by dealing 15 points of damage to the goo with a slashing weapon. A creature trying to scrape goo off itself, or another creature assisting, does not need to make an attack roll; hitting the goo is automatic, after which the creature that hit makes a damage roll to see how much of the goo was scraped off. Once free, the creature can move at half speed.
If the entangled creature attempts to cast a spell, it must make a concentration check with a DC of 15 + the spell's level or be unable to cast the spell.
The goo becomes brittle and fragile after 2d4 rounds, cracking apart and losing its effectiveness.
Crios sees the invisible orcs running toward the ledge, Ranalus tuned in to them as well can tell they have separated from each other and holds off on his sound burst. Reaching the edge they begin to climb down to the path below. They make it down and head for the wagons.

Reavis Smoot |
With his tail, Reavis pulls out a vial of Universal Solvent from his magical haversack and pours it over Anduris to break up the sticky glue and tar. "Heh, always prepared. Sorry, Kivuli, I only carry one around. I guess I'm not all that prepared afterall."
Universal Solvent dissolves tanglefoot bags.
Ranalus |
Ranalus will cast Divine Favor, draw his rapier, and step up. +3 to hit and damage.
He has Blind-Fight, in case the invisible orc attacks him.
Kivuli Greyfeather |

Depending on the route BLUE took, he may have provoked (given my longer reach ATM).
"No am worrying friend. Me am hard to stick to."
Chaosorbit |
Well played Reavis
Reavis quickly undoes the orc's gooey work with his universal solvent, freeing Anduris. While Ranalus gets ready to turn the orc into a pin cushion.
Crios and Anuris, Anduris is free and no longer needs to give me a save.
@Kivuli - you are not stuck, but still have other restrictions. Blue saw you attack Green with reach and stayed outside your reach until the last square.
Crios Greymantle |
Seeing one of the invisible orcs approach, Crios quickly surprises the creature as he steps toward it. He brings his staff around for two quick strikes, saying, "Kuriq! One is here!" giving his friend at a place to target.
As his staff swings in he draws from his arcane pool to enhance it with frost.

Ice adds to Fire, and Crios cold staff pummels the orc already badly burnt. The orc falls on the first blow. Kuriq quickly fires at where Crios indicated but the orc is already dead as his arrow whizzes by.

★★★OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT★★★
Several groups of Pathfinders break through the enemy lines and surround their leaders. A shout of encouragement rolls through the caravan, but a vastly different sound of worry begins rumbling among the attacking tribe.
@Table GMs: Encounter G is still available, but there are no further benefits for it.
Anduris Kreel |
Anduris steps around the orc and moves into position to try to give Kivuli a chance to flank the creature.
slashing attack: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 10 + 2 = 182d6 + 12 + 2d6 ⇒ (1, 4) + 12 + (3, 5) = 25
base attack with power attack is +8 then add+2 from bane...same with bonus damage. Added in a redline to determine flank. +2 more for flank with Kivuli.(based of my reading of the flank rules and the part that says "when in doubt", it should count.)
Chaosorbit |
Anduris, with the help of Kivuli's long arms, leaves a big gash in the orc with the blue kilt.
Da li je to najbolje što imate patuljak!? It shouts.
Is that the best you have got dwarf scum?!
The rest of the orcs rush forward attempting to overrun the Pathfinder lines. The first to arrive is chopped down by Kivuli in an instant. The second rushes past Kivuli as he withdraws his blade from the first one, and tries to run around Reavis. The next one skirts past Kivuli on the left side. Still more race toward the wagons from above, and even more emerge to join the raid.

Kuriq's patient is starting to wear off, but just as it does, a few orcs come into his view. He immediately moves slightly to the right to get a clear shot around Crios and draws his arrows as he does. His hand glows and heats his arrows, glowing a bright red. As he releases the arrows towards the direction of the orcs, they burst into flames.

Reavis would have his bow out in his offhand and doesn't have any natural attacks, so I will forgo the AoO.
Kivuli Greyfeather |
The wayang's extract compensates for his currently limited movement. He makes a slight reposition and thrusts his blade into the raider's kidney.

Kuriq first arrow goes straight through the eye dropping the orc instantly. The second arrow pierces the next orc, it somehow continues to stagger forward.
The blue kilted orc, withdraws from Anduris and Kivuli leaving himself open to attack. Hoping to prevent his advance, green clad orc throws another tanglefoot bag at Kivuli. The orc has great aim and nails the wayang once more.
The invisible orc completely ignore Ranalus and instead hops into the wagon, opening himself to Ranalus attack, who hear the creak of the wagon.

What he doesn't know is if Kivuli knows that he knows that Kivuli knows about the oncoming threat. So he runs to get behind the orc. since I never heard it was holding a weapon I should be good. Crios Greymantle |
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Crios casts frostbite and flies over to assist Ranalus, coming in from the flank. As he flies he glances around the battlefield looking to see if he can see anymore stealthy movers in the group, but all he see's are fast moving orcs in red all but ignoring the combatants and running for the wagons. They must be starving! Poor creatures. If they hadn't attacked this might have gone differently.
Knowing the caravan supplies they have are precious, he can't allow the orcs to take anything so he drops down behind the orc with a mighty swing...
One hand staff attack+spell+flank+bless: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 8 + 2 + 1 = 12
...but his attack misses cleanly.
Lovely, lol. Well at least the spell charge is still held. Maybe an AoO will be better and then it will be a two handed attack for more damage.
Reavis Smoot |
Reavis next tosses a frost bomb at the orc that slipped past him. Target is the red bordered orc with the 2 next to it.
RTA Bomb + PBS + Mutagen: 1d20 + 9 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 9 + 1 + 2 = 24
Cold Damage: 3d6 + 8 ⇒ (3, 5, 1) + 8 = 17
The orc also needs to make a DC 18 Fort save or it is staggered for 1 round.
Chaosorbit |
@Anduris - sorry didn't make it very clear, blue withdrew, so he was out of the flank for the AOOs, I put a little gold mark to show where he was when AOOs occurred.
Anduris takes a swing as the orc retreats but it misses. Ranalus also misses the orc as he climbs into the cart, unable to know exactly where it is.
Reavis's cold bomb freezes his target orc as all it's life's breath drains away. Ranalus undeterred finds the mark with his next attack. The invisible orc howls in pain.
Crios join Ranalus, astute in his observations, he none the less can't find the mark with his attack.
Anduris presses his advantage again moving into a flank with Kivuli passed the unarmed green clad orc. The occulist's Great Sword cleaves the orc, killing it.
The waves of orcs continues, this time they burst past the lines and make for the wagons, as still more pour from the caves.
