Crios delivers the most furious attack yet! The Fallen vanishes defeated. With the lieutenants slain, only the rift remains, before more undead emerge you can attempt to close the rift by performing a sealing ritual!
3 successes are needed using the following skills: Knowledge (arcana, planes or religion), Linguistics, Perform (oratory), Spellcraft, or Use Magic Device. Each of you can attempt a single skill check.
Expending an ability that uses positive energy—such as casting a spell with the healing descriptor or using a cleric’s channel positive energy class feature—grants a bonus on a single check equal to the level of the spell; for channeled positive energy, the bonus is equal to the number of d6s rolled.
If this character has completed a similar ritual in Pathfinder Society Scenario #8–07: From the Tome of Righteous Repose you gain a +4 circumstance bonus on this check.
And we are down to the final hours or minutes!
Reavis Smoot |
Using his advanced knowledge of other planes, Reavis attempts to shift the portal closed by rearranging the stones around the altar.
Knowledge (planes): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (5) + 15 = 20
Chaosorbit |
Reavis begins to rearrange the stones and the portal begins to slowly close, but it will take more than this to see it closed for good.
1 success
Kivuli Greyfeather |
Easily able to decipher the runes, Kivuli lifts more stones and arranges them around the portal.
Use Magic Device: 1d20 + 13 + 1d6 ⇒ (20) + 13 + (3) = 36 1 use of inspiration
Ranalus |
"I am not unfamiliar with planes of darkness and shadow."
Ranalus recalls everything he can about planar boundaries and calls forth more of his mysterious deity's power.
He channels (for a +2) and attempts a Knowledge check.
Knowledge (Planes): 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 10 + 2 = 32
Chaosorbit |
Kivuli and Ranalus combine to great effect, Kivuli rearranges more stones, as Ranalus channels the power of his deity and adds his knowledge to the effort. Between the two of them the riff pulls to a close and the wicked negative energy retreats with it. Although battered and spent you are Victorious!
Way to go gang that will wrap up things for us. The overseer should bring the event to a close soon. We'll done by you...you saw all there was of this special, with exception of the battle with the orc leadership! Chronicles and boon rolls incoming soon.

Great work everyone. As Crios mentioned, I would love to play with this crew again. As this is re-playable when part B comes along, it might be fun to get the band back together (maybe at a higher tier). this includes you Chaosorbit.
Kuriq |
Looks like you didn't need me! Had a busy day yesterday.
Kuriq watches from afar the great fight and attempts to seal the gateway as he fails to get there timely enough,"Good job everyone."
Ranalus |
Had a great time! Would play with this team again. Obviously Ranalus is not a big damage dealer but I felt he was useful with his skills and spells (though there was not even one door for his best trick!).
Boon: 1d20 ⇒ 20
Woohoo!
Chaosorbit |
Sorry Kuriq, I won't have pushed that hard if not for the last day.
Love that idea Kivuli - would be fun to do if we can, count me in.
Reavis Smoot |
I'm down with playing with you all again. This was quite fun. Great job everyone!
Chaosorbit |
Grats Ranalus! - now roll a d4, then PM me your email address for me to pass along.
Crios Greymantle |
Grats Ranalus! We will have to hunt for a door next game so we can see your best tick! ;) @Everyone> Everyone played a part in each encounter, even when it wasn't strictly combat or damage dealing, and that was why the group did well as a whole. Skill check encounters were huge! As for this group in part b(or 2, or whatever the other name is) I love that idea. I have two more games after this before I level to 7 so it is a safe bet I won't be out of tier for anyone. Anduris is 5 and so is Kuriq so we will have to stay in touch if something changes. Cheers to everyone! Well done!

★★★OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT★★★
As Medda and Anok join your group of Pathfinders around the stone circle, she assists you with the binding ritual. Medda thrusts Ivvora’s hilt into the portal, calling on Vildeis for aid. The shadow rift shrinks and closes, releasing a massive shock wave that knocks the Pathfinders, the Twinhorn warriors, and Medda to the ground. A field of dark, rippling energy remains, suspended above the stone altar. As Medda reaches out to pick up Ivvora’s hilt—the already broken blade now spider-webbed with new cracks—a supernatural silence descends. Only the telepathic rage of some unseen menace cuts through the quiet. “You dare to shut me out?” it rages. “I see you, but I do not see her. Where is the dwarf woman, Ivvora, who fought me so long ago? Has her mortal body failed at last? Has the realm of the living at last lost its protector? Know this: when the long shadows reach out again, I will grasp them and claw my way back into your world to see your flesh devoured by my children.”
Sound returns to the Realm of the Mammoth Lords, and Medda cautiously stands. “It seems that Eshimka still lives and has even left this foul scar on our world,” she declares. “If we are to believe its promises, the fiend will attack on the next winter solstice. If we are to survive, we must be ready. Nearly a millennium ago, Ivvora held the key to defeating Eshimka. By following her legends and discovering her fate, we may harness the same holy power that banished this fiend—and together end the beast entirely.
“When we set out, it would be the privilege of this following to have the Pathfinders at our side. But that is a trial for another day. Tonight, at last, we rest.”
@Table GMs: Please report your games and boons here. A roll of 19 or 20 wins a boon, and a d4 should then be rolled to determine which one.
And a big thank you to all of our players and GMs, for making Solstice Scar a fun and smooth experience.
Reavis Smoot |
"Yup, that's right. Saved the world again. All in a days work. What would Golarion do without me?' Reavis says proudly as he dusts off his scabby hands. "Oh yeah, you guys helped too." He adds after a moment.
Anduris Kreel |
Thanks all. Was really fun and would love to join in another adventure. Grats Ranalus.
